"I wanted to return an expensive item on a Sunday which proved to be impossible as the staff couldn’t get codes for approval over $500 from memory"
"Compared to other jaycar stores, this team does little to help customers"
"Reasonably ok range of components, audio cables etc"
"From my experience I have never found them to be the cheapest (Hornsby scrap metal is a better place to get cheap CAT5 cable), however when you need something other than the best price, they are quite convenient, and very helpful, while always being a good place to find technical advice on nearly anything including basic TV repair components, micro controllers and printouts of various non-labelled passive components, or just a good discussion on random tech stuff"
"Although Jaycar may not be the cheapest for everything, they have very helpful staff"
I wanted to return an expensive item on a Sunday which proved to be impossible as the staff couldn’t get codes for approval over $500 from memory. The staff were very helpful and polite and did their absolute best to help me. They were on the phone making calls and it sounded like they were being hung up on and someone on the phone didn’t want to approve the return but they kept trying and almost got it done for me. I appreciate that it was a Sunday and therefore more difficult to get things done. They assured me that if I came back the next day it would be resolved. I did that and was able to get my refund without any issue. I would advise anyone that wants to make a return to make sure everything is put back the way you bought it as I did and don’t rip the tape off the box. Also take a picture of your receipt as mine mysteriously when missing in the store after I gave it to one of the clerks I want to pay a compliment to Majak( not sure if the spelling is correct) and her coworker but I didn’t get his name for their professionalism and eagerness to serve people. Thank you.
Compared to other jaycar stores, this team does little to help customers. Specially one employee who on multiple occasions I have seen standing behind the desk ignoring customers while on their phone, forcing the customers to wait for them to finish, and once attending customers this person provides minimal vague information. Most recent time it Led to me purchasing the wrong items, even though I brought my modem in and a compatible external antenna and said "here is my modem and it's connection and here is my antenna with the connection, how can I connect the two? What cable and connectors do I need?" disappointed with this store
Reasonably ok range of components, audio cables etc. Lately most of the stuff is more in line with retail prices like JB-HI when they previously had more competitive wholesale-style prices. Seems to be a shift in focus to gimmick products instead of focusing on what made them an essential store for enthusiasts. The customer service leaves a bit to be desired. Staff will direct you towards what you need but seem incapable of friendly attitudes or even smiling. One young guy that works there is absolutely miserable and has a constant scowl on his face. Woefully inadequate for customer service and fostering repeat business.
From my experience I have never found them to be the cheapest (Hornsby scrap metal is a better place to get cheap CAT5 cable), however when you need something other than the best price, they are quite convenient, and very helpful, while always being a good place to find technical advice on nearly anything including basic TV repair components, micro controllers and printouts of various non-labelled passive components, or just a good discussion on random tech stuff
Although Jaycar may not be the cheapest for everything, they have very helpful staff. Saved me some money and time by whipping up a quick power cable crossover when the brand name version was $80 and 2-3 weeks wait away... 10min of helpful staff stripping/soldering etc. I walked out $14 poorer with a great new cable. I'm guessing they don't always do that... But maybe if they are not too busy. :)
I usually really like this place (great staff, great prices and a great range) but today I had to run in and out to get small things for a project. The lady behind the counter complained that I was dropping her average sales rating and acted exasperated when I came back in to pick something up. I'm not sure if maybe I missed her sense of humour, but it made the store feel unwelcoming.
Now at a new location there is much more room for all the stuff they sell. If your lucky there is great service there but be wary of being sold something you may not need. It helps to do some homework on what your going to buy and most times there is a item in there that will help you. Bright lights, security stuff and weird stuff that’s now rarely seen in real retail space
I'm visually impaired and one of the stuff he sold,me a damaged male to male RCA cable. ( which he new it was damaged taking advantage of my disability.) Went to t it back and he refused to give me a refund. Was not happy. Went to Jaycar Gorehill and they r e placed it when I told them about the problems I had with the stuff member.
I was pleasantly delighted by the customer service I received. The store person was very friendly and professional. There was no promise of purchase as I had only asked for advice, but that made no difference to their service. Eventually the store person was able to solve my problem and I purchased the product I needed!
Terrible, terrible experience. The assistant manager 'Rob' was less than enthusiastic; it appeared that he either did not want to serve me or could not be bothered working there today (groaning, sighing etc). First and last time I will ever shop at this Jaycar.
The Store Manager Greg is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. What a nice experience. Greg was able to provide a solution for a car aerial problem that the other experts were not across. Nothing was a problem for him. Much appreciated.
Great store has a well stocked range and easy to locate what you want . Staff are also very helpful in finding things if your unsure. This is my always go to store when it comes to electronics as they have what I need every time .
Can be a bit pricey compared to eBay etc but they have excellent customer service and a range of anything related to Electronics for the hobbyist and consumer on the shelf and ready to go. Always something new each time you visit.
Staff are very friendly, and their help goes well beyond what you'd expect. Came in wanting to buy some 3D filament, left with filament and a few helpful tips on printing techniques to fix the issues I've been having.
Unfortunately range of parts is limited , I was looking for and inline switch , they stock only one type , single color, questionable quality and high price. Sadly place an order online for a fifth of iaycar price.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff who really dig electronics. If there's something you can't find, even if you don't know what it's called, these guys can and will find it for you, then sell it at a competitive price.
Staff are nice but the labelling on items aren’t clear. I have spent $20 on a chord labeled DVI - D-sub and when I opened the box I find that its a DVI-A - D-sub. I personally wouldn’t recommend.
Great experience with these guys. Very knowledgeable. The young gentleman (didn't catch his name, unfortunately) was a great customer serviceman and made my experience just that much better.
Love jaycar everything eletronic one could need, and they always have what other stores don't have, if you haven't been there and your a big time techy or even a newb techy you'll love it.
Really helpful staff who know their stuff and are happy to work out any special stuff you may need. Recommended. Not the cheapest, but the service and quality are worth the tiny extra.
Helpful staff, always have everything I need in stock, great little store... but the (limited) parking situation can be completely messed up by just one car stopping in the wrong spot.
The staff, including the great manager are extremely helpful and extremely pleasant. I recommend the components and staff to all. Errol Trimingham / VK2BET. PS: Member of HADARC.
Their stock is good. The staff are friendly. The parking & access to public transport is good enough. Recently had a product with a dodgy cable. They swapped the cable, no fuss.
Very impressed with the pay and collect Called and got accurate advise on what was needed Placed the order on line and picked up later that day Happy smiley people Seamless
Staff are really friendly, nice range, but the prices really are easy to beat. If you need something quick, go here, but for most cases shopping around is way cheaper
Seems to be some stress between online sales and retail sites. Check the prices and specials to make sure you're not paying for the tension …
My son had a school project he needed some components for. We didn't know exactly what we needed, and the staff were very patient and helpful.
Great store, everything you need when you need it for home and some trade electrical repair work :) Always helpful staff at this store
Easily the best Jaycar store... for that matter the best electronics store out there. The manager and staff are amazing!
Pretty good at what they do and customer service was great.only I was looking for the one thing they didn't have
I asked for hdmi splitter and they gave me a jdi thing that does not support any tv. Ruined my sons birthday.
Very friendly staff and helped heaps on lots of projects, but is not a place that is very aesthetically nice.
Good Jaycar with generally good customer service and easy parking very wide variety of Electrical all sorts
Thomas served me and was a fantastic employee. Super insightful and helpful! Would recommend!!
These guys are so professional and helpful. An absolute pleasure doing business with them.
No expertise, no customer service. A parody of the old Jaycar experience. Order online.
Staff were a little distant and a little slow but irregardless still very helpful
Plenty of components and heaps of "Handy things to have" at very good prices
Service was very friendly, helped me find what I wanted. Highly recommend.
Has a great range. Best to park around the corner as it can get cramped.
Excellent. Love the new store with easy parking and the side exit door.
Great store for all your electrical, electronics and 3D printing needs
Super helpful and friendly staff, they also had exactly what I needed!
The guys were friendly and helpful. I would recommend for sure!
