I love it. That is the best place in town if you want to do your hair if you are a Black person. He also does Caucasian, Arabic, Asian people 's hair. Everyone is welcome. When I came to Chicago, I was looking for a good hair stylist. After scanning places online, I decided to try Egyptian Style. I can definitely say that John is fantastic. He knows what is good for your hair and his price is affordable. I keep coming every two weeks since I have natural hair and he takes good care of it. I also had some colors on that he did. I received several compliments. Please go and see John, you won't regret it. Amazing people work there too. Thanks John for the wonderful work and your caring spirit. I been here now 2 times first time was a mess the girl who washed and detangled my hair was literally yanking at it she did not know how to detangle but the man who straightened it did a good job….i only paid 80 around that time last year…today i went in and it was just the man who flat ironed my hair last time… he did beautifully washing, detangling and styling my hair…. I however did not like the fact he used a hair brush that had other people hair in it in my head the brush was dirty… i also didn’t like the fact he charged me $120 this time i got the same thing as last time so im confused how it went up $40…. Ima just say i dont know if I’ll go back.

I've been going to this shop for over a year now and I have had nothing but the best service. Staff is always friendly and the owner always ask me how my daughter is doing when I come in for my regular wash and dry. The new hair assistant is great as well. She always ask me how my day is going and compliment me. The staff is always amazing and upbeat! Staff members always make you feel welcome, which is something that is hard to do these days. Normally shops are not engaged with their customers. I definitely would recommend anyone who is interested in getting their hair done come down to the shop.

I remember when John opened up this shop almost 10 yrs ago. He was so nice & pleasant. The service was 5star ⭐️. Not so much now. My hair was detangled with a comb. It hurted so much. I believe when doing African American hair you should be experienced. A detangle brush would work better. The men was so rough in my head. I didn’t enjoy the service at all. Hair didn’t look worth $85 to me. If you want to go to a Natural Hair salon that’s created for Black women try Envy Me Salon on 55th. You will get excellent service and you will love your hair.

Currently sitting in one if their chairs, and I feel safe in the neighborhood. Which of course makes me feel safe at this salon. They are extremely professional while still letting you feel comfortable around them. (this is a big plus for me since i'm a teenager) They consult with you on what you want and what they're going to do. The owners and hair dressers are amazing people they give the place the best atmosphere you could ever ask for in a hair salon. I'd recommend this place to everyone who wants to get pampered

I recently visited this salon. My overall experience was a 9. (Always leave room for improvement) I got a wash and set with my ends clipped and color added. The color came out very nice. I was in and out the shop in no time! Calm environment! Pricing is reasonable. There is free parking! I'm definitely going back. Just to give feed back...... I don't remember the guys name who did my hair so maybe name tags or a card... Just a thought -Pleased client

First time here got a "Brazilian-blowout ". It is fabulous ". The friendliest Egyptian shop I've been to! They really go out of the way to make you feel and look beautiful! John is amazing! I love going in there because he takes great care of your hair. His assistant CeCe is wonderful too with the blow outs. My hair is natural, and her blow outs last a long time! They are also very friendly. My favorite place to go. The atmosphere is very chill too. Love, love this place. I have been a customer of John S Beauty Salon for almost 5 years and have always received top notch service. John and CiCi are amazing! They are extremely knowledgeable about thick natural hair. Omg! Where to begin? My hair was so dry and damaged before I came here and Cici and Jon took care of me! They were super friendly and explained every step of the process so that I knew exactly what they were doing and why. They didn’t sneak any charges in and even did my eyebrows for free. My hair is super bouncy and soft the exact opposite of what it was before I came. I will definitely be returning. ❤️

CC was super nice and took the time to allay any concerns I had since this was my first visit. She addressed my hair care needs and offered some great tips on hair care. John was very professional and also nice. The hair trim turned out to be a hair cut but overall, it turned out very nice. My hair looks and feels much healthier now. I most definitely will be going back.

I gave it three stars because when i asked for a hair cut i told the man to only cut the ends, he cut about a good 4 to 5 inches of my hair off and it was uneven. I was so upset and i still am. But the olny part i liked was cece she was so nice and she washed my hair deep conditioned it and she was wonderful

EXCELLENT customer service and service. Soon as I walked in, I was greeted with friendly service. I didn’t get judge that my hair was too “natural” (I mean being that they do service to women of color hair textures) Very attentive and pleasant people as well as reasonable priced.
