I had been looking to buy a house in the Wynnum Manly area for over twelve months, without success. Low house stocks and rapidly rising prices led to strong competition amongst buyers. I had been to many house inspections, visited lots of local real estate agents at their offices, and was on first name terms with some because of the number of times we had met in the course of my search. I called Johnson Real Estate after seeing one of their signs, and spoke to Chris. The property was already sold, but he took my details and promised to look out for a property that would suit me. He was one of only two agents who rang me during the time I was looking for a house, and he called to give me the opportunity to look at a house before it went on the market. I viewed it the next day, expressed my interest in purchasing it, and Chris brought around a contract that afternoon. He explained the process and each clause of the contract clearly, and had took it back to the owners for their consideration immediately. He was thoroughly professional and, while he advised me as a purchaser, he did not compromise his role as agent and advocate for the sellers. The contract was signed that evening. During the contract period, all the staff at Johnson Real Estate were friendly and helpful, providing advice and prompt in notifying me about what needed to be done at the appropriate time. They were also happy to promote communication between the house owners and myself. As a buyer, this agency is useless. You can't speak to realestate agents when you call the number on a listing. The property I was calling about was listed for sale yet they already have a contract and this isn’t reflected on the listing. Waste of time.
