I feel very disappointed as I write this review because I have been coming to this salon every 4 wks since March 2018 for cut and color without ever leaving the salon feeling happy about my hair. I’m not a person who switches from salon to salon and I really wanted to make this work. I have a very short haircut that needs lots of blending. I have talked with my stylist, Cassandra at every appointment using many describing words to help her know what I want. But instead of a blended haircut, I get a prounced shelf at the back of my head. Even my friends and family would ask me, “what happened to your hair?” This last appt, I called the salon manager, Crystal ahead of time to explain the problem and request a consult to see if we could correct the ongoing problem and she assured me we would address it. When I arrived, the salon manager, Crystal never introduced herself or got involved with my consultation. Instead, my stylist, Cassandra seemed annoyed with me during the consultation and told me I had not used the correct “describing” words for her to cut my hair correctly. I felt insulted when she said, “so basically, you want a men’s cut.” It may have been more helpful for her to say something like this: “I can see you are unsatisfied with your haircut, so help me understand what I can do to make it better.” It would have been EVEN BETTER if the salon manager, Crystal had met with me and Cassandra so that I wouldn’t have felt so stressed about having the conversation alone. You would think that the salon would want to keep my business as I am a repeat customer who spent approximately $160 every four weeks, but after going to 8 different appts since March and spending $80 for a haircut that never made me happy - it is time for me to move on.

I’m giving this salon 2 stars because the interior is nice and it is in a nice location. They always take your appointment on time and finish your appt within the estimated time frame they give you. They have great services by asking you if you’d like something to drink as soon as you walk in. However, for the past 5 years, I have been coming here and trying other salons and yet haven’t found a salon that I can absolutley trust with my hair. I usually ask for a mix of things such as balyage, shadow root, full blonde foil. I keep coming to this salon in hopes that I will walk out one day and love my hair... but this has not happened at this salon yet. I got my hair dyed about 2 months ago at the Alamo Heights location and I was charged around $380. I do not mind paying a lot of money as long as it is worth the money. I walked out of there with brassy hair. I had to go to sallys to buy a toner because the top of my hair looked very brassy. I had asked for a Master stylist so I was surprised and quite dissappointed that I was left brassy hair by a Master stylist. Ive been coming here several times and paying around $300-$400 each time but yet I have never been completely satisfied. One would expect to walk out of there with no brassiness as you are paying alot of money but this has not been the case. That said... I have decided to give the salon one last try in hopes that I will actually walk out satisfied this time. I will post an update of next week once i go to my next appointment.

I was very let down by the service of this salon. I was there for 6 hours and sent out the door with wet hair and an unfinished cut that was to be finished on another date because they ran out of time and had to see someone else. My stylist asked for help from multiple members of her coworkers to see if they had time to blow dry and no one even tried to help. The only comment I got from the receptionist at the front as I was paying was that I had been there for a very long time. Also, when I got home my hair was breaking apart and I was too afraid to touch it or comb it. The next day I cancelled the appointment for my stylist to finish my cut and found another salon who did a repair treatment and cut. I am thankful it looks and feels much better! I do have to mention that I also have lots of horizontal stripes through out my hair at my roots that I will have to soften up once my hair gets a break. After that experience and cost, I would not recommend them to anyone seeking blonding services. I know that going blonde is a lengthy process that requires multiples sessions and that it can be damaging, but the way I was sent out feeling like a wet dog and how my hairstylist seemed to have no support when she asked for help made it a deal breaker for me to go back there.

I was really looking forward to my visit. They have such wonderful reviews. The person who took my information over the phone was rude. She seemed like she was bored silly. I even called her back to discuss something else, and she was just as unfriendly. The day of the appointment, the person I spoke with was so much nicer and welcoming. It is truly a no tip salon. I was wondering if that was a joke, so that was a nice surprise. The girl who did my complimentary hand massage did an awesome job. My toner has helped to blend my hair, so I am happy with the color. I am not happy with the cut and style, but the girl offered to fix it. I showed her a ton of photos on Pinterest at the beginning of the appointment to try and give her an idea of what I wanted, but I came out with a shorter version of the same haircut all stylists give me. It was an expensive visit overall ($240.00) and not worth repeating for the same old same old. I could have stayed home and not made travel plans and had that expense for what I received. Just because she wasn't able to give me the cut that I wanted, I didn't think the place deserved only 3 stars, but if I could have given 3 1/2, I would have.

As a result of her advice, we developed an alternative plan & I was thrilled! FRONT DESK: this area is a disaster! The phones are always down. I always encounter challenges when scheduling because my name was entered into the system twice (once incorrectly) and I have asked for this to be resolved several times, to no avail. The biggest draw back is the sense of a warm welcome. A smile goes a long way ladies and a simple greeting can make the difference between an uncomfortable experience and a tolerable experience. Develop some training, implement it, and do not be afraid to cut loose the folks who are not meeting the standards of your core values.

K Charles is the absolute worst place I have ever been to. I asked for a few lowlights to my already very blonde hair, and they colored it completely brown. I have never been so dissapointed in a salon in my life. The people who work there are careless, joke about your hair not being the correct color, and also rushed me out of the salon, they didn't even blow dry my hair. When the lady was doing my hair she said, "Wow! I have never done this technique before!" Which scared me, and ultimately, I paid the price. She also spilled water all over my back while washing my hair. Horrible workers, horrid atmosphere. I wouldn't reccomend this place to my worst enemy, and I would request to even do your hair yourself, because an unexperienced 18 year old could do better work than these people. I am disgusted.

The Stone Oak salon was my third attempt at a K Charles Salon having tried the Broadway and Boerne salons. All have been the same, I requested a master stylist for color and cut. Stylists did a great job with color and highlights. In all cases, cut was ok althougjh none seem to be really good with curly hair. On follow-up color, unless you are requesting color AND highlights ($$$) they dump you with a novice for touch up color. Your master stylist checks on you occasionally and basically explains that this saves her time since you are only getting a touch up (in other words, you are not spending enough money for her to manage your color. The color was awful, my hair is really dry and a HORRIBLE haircut. After three times, I have finally learned my lesson - avoid these salons and you should too!

Wonderful Experience!! The staff is lovely and very sweet. I had been growing my hair out for a couple of years and it hit pretty close to my tush. Of course I had trims but I was ready for something new. This was my first hair style in a couple of years. Angela styled my hair. She was extremely patient with me. I can not say enough wonderful things about this place. It is also weird going to a salon and not tipping. I wouldnt have it any other way. When you tell them the service you want the price is the price now matter how long your hair is and you don't tip. I will for sure being doing back and i will tell all that i know. I have raved about this place to 5 of my girlfriends and i only got my hair cut 2 days ago!!!! love love love love this place!!

Stephanie is the only stylist I will let touch my hair after searching for years for someone that knows how to truly handle long fine hair and long layers. My hair is fair and fine and it takes someone that really knows what they are doing to make it look healthy and full, and not limp and stringy, and Stephanie is an absolute genius. She really does an amazing job and I won’t see anybody else to give me volume with long layers that blend well and aren’t choppy like so many I have had before. She’s very knowledgeable and kind and does a great blowout as well! I also love the salon and the staff, it is a great environment and always pleasant and relaxing.

I highly recommend K Charles in Stone Oak. I was Hillary's new client. Hillary was very attentive and explained what her best recommendation was for what I wanted. I was so impressed with the great service and left with a new cut, color and highlights at a reasonable price. I love that they fully disclose each and every process they will be going through so I was able to make the final decisions. Also, Hillary cut my hair a little longer so we could take off more if we wanted and we did. Although the salon was very busy I never once felt rushed or that the stylists were rushed to move me along. Thank you Hillary.

Wonderful. Just wonderful! K Charles is one of my happy places. Every person you come into contact with goes above and beyond to make your appointment exceptional and the Aveda products are top-notch. I have been a client of Jeffery for about 10 years and will never go anywhere else. Over the years, I have had a different stylist or two because of extenuating circumstances. One of the best parts about K Charles is that all of the stylists adhere to the same high levels of training, so you will always have the same experience. I highly recommend this salon for any service you need!

I found my forever hair salon, I decided to do dye my own hair yesterday and ended up killing my hair and I very much needed a hair. I was calling around seeing who could save my life from having horrible damaged hair and K. Charles & co answered and took me in immediately. My stylist Destiny was such a sweet heart and gave me recommendations so I wouldn’t have to cut a lot of my hair off. Instead we did medium length layers. She was so considerate with my feelings and making sure I was comfortable. I absolutely love my hair cut and my new look. Thank you so much Destiny !

I've gotten my hair messed up at so many places and it took a whole year once for it to be somewhat normal. I came here hoping I could stop my search in a trustworthy hairdresser. I tried a few people here no one messed up my hair but I didn't find anyone I truly felt got me. Third time's a charm! I saw Jeffery for a haircut and FINALLY I left a hair place totally happy with my hair! I recently got my haircut short which I've never done before. I put my trust in him that he'd give me a style that fits me. I am so happy with my new haircut. I just love it!!

My coworker and I had the opportunity to try this location for the first time. The first gentleman at the front was smiles for miles, and the girls were nice. The hair artist that I was blessed to have was Stevin. He was very passive, and patient. He gave me some great information on the products he used. If I get an opportunity to enjoy my scalp treatment, and condition again, I would definitely request him. Many blessings to this place of business. Yesterday I went to a salon in Boerne and got I think the worst haircut of my entire life. After lots of crying all night I got myself together and thankfully listened to a friend that told me to call here and make an appointment. They were able to get me in two hours after I called for my 911 situation and it was the best salon experience I have ever had!! Now my hair looks amazing they did such a good job of fixing it without making it shorter than it had to be. I wish I could give more stars!!!

I will never return to a K Charles ever again. Called to make an appointment and was told I can't without a consultation! What?!?! I've been using Aveda color and salons my entire life, plus I've been to K Charles before. I have a new infant at home and finding time just to get a hair cut and color is challenging let alone finding time to come in for a consultation. So upset, just referred my sister here too! I'll be sure she doesn't return as well!

I had a very bad experience in their stone oak pkwy branch, i requested to color my hair cooper brown with their senior stylist and she couloured my hair dark brown.they are not specialized in colouring. Also they do not use water for pedicure which is so necessary to moisturize your heels before scrub. I am sharing with you my experience because i spent lots of money and i expected good services, which it wasn't.

I love K Charles & Co! After going to see Kelly because I had a horrible hair color experience elsewhere, she was able to fix my highlights and make them beautiful again. I have been going to Kelly ever since, and I am impressed with every color/cut she has done. She is such a sweetheart and so easy to talk to. I had an appointment for highlights, lowlights and color for grey. Weird system one stylist did highlights only six foils. The next stylist put in dark color next to my blonde highlights. I kid you not I looked like a skunk. So for a bad color and a blow dry it was over 200 dollars. DO. NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE. I have had students do a better job. WAY OVERPRICED.

Hillary listened to what I wanted, evaluated my hair and consulted another stylist on the best color choice. Two hours later…and my hair looked fabulous. Would go back to Hillary if I lived in the area!

I moved recently from Colorado and was looking for a good Aveda salon. After so research I decided to go here. I was super pleased. My stylist Celenia, did an amazing job. She listened to my preferences and did beautiful high and low lights along with a layered cut. I will definitely be coming back to see her!!!

K Charles is a good salon but is WAY overpriced!! It cost $120 for all over color (no high/lowlights) which I think is ridiculous. I even called prior to my visit about prices and then they ended up charging me an extra $30 for more color...and I have shoulder length hair! Needless to say, I won't be going back.

My appointment was canceled without an explanation or voicemail just automatic email and text. It would have been professional to send a reasoning or leave a voicemail with the reason with a chance to reschedule. I even followed up with an email asking what was going on with no response. Poor customer service.

I tried this place because their prices were reasonable and they do a lot of in-house training with their stylists. Junior stylist, Allison, cut my hair. I am happy with the results and the service. The salon was very nice and they don't accept tips, which is another big money saver.
