If you are looking for a place to enjoy some Latin American cuisines, liquor beverages and other Italian cuisines in Colombo, you might want to check out the restaurant I visited three weeks ago. It is called King of the Mambo and it is located in a cozy and elegant building in the Galle Face Hotel. The restaurant has a spacious and comfortable dining area, with a warm and inviting atmosphere facing towards the beach with a mesmerizing sunset where you can observe in the evening. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they make sure you have a great experience. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from appetizers and salads to pasta and many other items. Service is a bit slow when it is crowded during peak hours. I ordered the ALBONDICAS CON PASTA, PASTA DEL MAR, with fries, and a Mojito. The ALBONDICAS CON PASTA was served with tomato sauce and lamb meatballs consisting of spaghetti whereas PASTA DEL MAR was served with the freshest seafood consisting of spaghetti mixed with tomato sauce. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and they came with ketchup. The Mojito was smooth and refreshing, and it complemented the meal perfectly. My friends and family ordered many varieties of Spaghetti with refreshing beverages. The ordered beverages were cold(perfect), and it balanced the spiciness of the meals my friends and family ordered. We enjoyed our food and drinks, and we were satisfied with the portions and the prices. We had a wonderful time at King of the Mambo, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Latin American food. The restaurant has a great ambiance, service and food quality, and it is suitable for any occasion. Whether you are looking for a romantic date night, a family outing or a casual hangout with friends, you will find something to suit your taste at King of the Mambo.

They do have coloring papers and chalks with the staff. If you request them, they will hand over it.

Great ambiance with nice music and attractive interior. It is open to the sea on one side but is covered throughout with a roof, so need to worry about rain. It can get quite windy though, but that is not much of a problem. The staff is well trained and helpful. Food was excellent but make sure to ask and know what the dish is exactly. The pitchers are of nice quantity and the choices are very good. Food can take some times to be prepared. Great place for a little dance towards the later at night as well. Enjoy the time with friends

Good security system

One of the greatest pubs in galleface. I must say how helpful and attentive the staff was. From the superiors to the bottom level, everyone is friendly and engaged with customers. No one is left behind or no disappoinment on customers faces. Every customer was taken care in the same manner without making them wait. That is the best thing about them. Drinks are superb which you would completely understand that they use the best brands in making cocktails. Presentation is highly eye-catching. Place is just next to the sea and they have open area and inside lounges too. Food tasted unique and satisfied my taste buds really well. Completely worth for the prices you would have to pay. With the breeze and matching music, they completely fulfilled the moment. Worth giving a try.

Cuban themed bar Situated in Galle face hotel, just adjacent to Galle face beach. A chill place to hangout during the weekend with a group of friends or even for a date night. (But it’s pretty loud) Better to reserve a table if it’s for a group, because it gets quite crowded in the weekend & perhaps you could get a better table near the ocean. Drinks were good, food was good too. Customer service not that great maybe because of the huge crowd they were overwhelmed, first of all we got the wrong drinks then the waiter forgot to punch in our food order so was waiting for ages and only when asked we realized he forgot it. Price is bit on the high end, but it’s worth it. Can take lot of nice pictures and they do have a huge ring light if you wanna take a picture. There’s a DJ playing probably cuban? Mexican? music since this is a Cuban themed bar.

We came here around 10:20pm and it was on a Monday which is obviously calm. The environment was really amazing it was quite rainy. And we ordered and we took like 15 mins to check the menu and Shabeeq was the server we had for the Moment the amount of patience he had was OUTSTANDING….. he absolutely taught us the difference between the drinks we had literally everything about the drinks and the ingredients included. Will recommend Shabeeq ❤️ 10/10 good service Keep it up!!!

The latest addition to the Galle face hotel. Situated right next to the crashing waves, it definitely gives you a tropical feel. The menu has a bit of everything and they have managed to stick to the Cuban theme perfectly plus the awesome names for the dishes. Black mambo cocktail is recommended and the calamari from the starters is a must order. The sharing seafood paella portion is incredible. The crispy pork belly was perfectly prepared but felt that it was a bit too much of fat. The chocolate lava cake and the creme brûlée is off the charts. The atmosphere is great including the live music but a tad bit of more lighting would have been better. Also make sure you don’t get a table near the grill as it can get hot because of the massive flames. Suitable for small groups or families.

This is a part of the Galle Face hotel and is situated facing the sea. Its a lovely setting where you can perfectly see some beautiful sunsets. It's quite sunny until after 6 or so. It's an open area with a lot of sea breeze and it has adequate space for seating. It gets quite full towards night though. The staff are wearing masks and the temperature is checked before entering. The drinks range is quite large. A wide variety of alcohol is available. Non alcoholic drinks are almost non existent but you can create a mock tail from a cocktail by asking the staff but it costs the same even without the alcohol. The food is decent. The quantity is quite low if you are going with a group. Basically a good spot for an evening hangout with friends

We are tired of exploiting the Arabs everywhere. We are not moving treasures. We collect what we have and travel to enjoy. We have nothing like what you imagine. We travel with our tiredness. We ordered 6 cocktails. They made us pay 47 thousand rupees 135 dollars. We paid it in full, but when we were going, they came back to us and said that we forgot to pay extra 5000 rupees even though we paid the full amount. They made me go through a bad experience. I know that the owner of this place worked hard on this project and on his reputation, and he serves wonderful drinks, but the workers are bad and fraudulent, and it is sad that this place loses customers because of two fraudulent workers an Have mercy on the Arabs, we are not banks

Located inside Galle face hotel, this is a Cuban restaurant overlooking the ocean. Perfect spot to watch the world go by while you enjoy some refreshing drinks. We had the beef tacos which were simply perfect with right amount of spice and the fried oysters were perfectly crispy and soft. The music was peppy as well. For mains we tried the chicken barbecue and it was so soft and juicy. Definitely recommended.

Bar and restaurant in the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo, tasty food and drinks with great view of the beach. Nice music in the loco at evening. Friendly staff but the cocktails are lacking of alcohol, every drink you order feels like water and lime juice. Need to revise the barmans ability to make the drinks.

Música pasada de decibelios, imposible comer cuando llega la comida porque tardan bastante, te llevas la decepción buenas presentaciónes pero el producto esta insípido y mal cocinado, francamente mal . Una gran desilusión que fracaso, ahhh y de A lo Cubano nada.musica horrible y el dj tan malo como el Chef. Para no regresar como crítico gastronómico que soy puedo decir y digo que no regreso.

Terrible service and food. Food almost inedible, Cocktails watered down, although quiet they forgot most of our drinks order so we decided to sign the bill and leave. By comparison FireBeach next door was fantastic, great food, service and ambiance so if you are staying at the Galle Face like we were avoid the King of Mambo and try FireBeach or the travellers bar which also had five star service.

Fantastic view of the sunset. The staff was friendly. Offered us free cocktails and shots as it was a ladies' night. After 8pm it drinks were half price. The free coktails and shots were not strong but it is the case everywhere else as well. If you pay and buy your drinks they are always up to the standard. We ordered french fries, mashed potatos, fried rice and prawns n cuttlefish platter. Portion was enough for one person. But the prices were reasonable. They play nice music. All together it was really nice.

It is situated in the Gall Face hotel. You have to walk and it is in downstairs from the Travelers bar and lounge. It is a bit hot and you may feel sweaty however they serve tasty cocktails and variety of side bites and meals are there. Prices are in par with other same rank pub and bars around Colombo. A must go place if you like Latin American or jazz themes. Great place to hangout and chillax with friends and gangs. Service is a bit slow when it is crowded and during peak hours.

Stopped here while transiting through Sri Lanka. Very nice location just by the ocean. Need to enter via Galle Face hotel. Pleasant place to spend a evening and watch sunset from Galle Face beach and watch waves later (there are lights focusing on them). They do have good selection of cocktails. Staff are bit weird or rough to treat customers, not sure if I was dressed nice enough or a looked like a foreigner Had some trouble sitting on a not reserved table.

Great place, food and cocktails, and nice staff, but it’s difficult to go inside, when go inside hotel no body help you and all body busy and no sign to go there, and when I found it but I was in Deferent floor, I ask the bouncer, how I get to this restaurant, and he useless, only look at me and do nothing “as usual” the bouncer they think must no smile or help. Expect the door man in hotel when i going out he ask me why you didn’t go to restaurant, so he help.

Great ambiance and live music. We visited on a crowded day and was not happy with the service. It took too long for our order to get to us but it's hard to say if its lik this on a regular day. Drinka were too but food on the bite menu werw just not other the price. The band was international and simply amazing. The staff was extremely distracted and all over the place. Being by the beach added to the ambiance. Would definitely visit again.

This guys are awesome..Shabeeq, he has done next level services to us.from checking the table to finalize all arrangements tikk 1.30 am he was our game changer..And we can not forget basith as well.. from suggesion to end he was there.. guys highly recommended this place.. and thank you soo much shabeeq and Basith for next level service..

Marvelous atmosphere. They have got the Cuban theme right. From the uniforms of the staff to the decor to the food. Food was amazing. Atmosphere with the Cuban band was electric. Service was on another level. Waiter Kanishka was exemplary and I dare say almost a professional photographer. He captured some beautiful images of my wife and I during our anniversary dinner outing to this place. We would definitely return for more.

We had a great night. The drinks and vibe was really fun. Ravindu was our server for the night and he was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the entire night. Would recommend and definitely come again

Ooooooooooh! Nice little gem. Cuban inspired right on the sea ( literally dodging ocean spray) fantastic atmosphere with Latin chill out music and a Cuban inspired menu and cocktail list. We had the grilled octopus and grilled tuna salad with some chuck oysters. Come here for old school atmosphere and a hint of Cuba in Sri Lanka highly recommended

One of the best places to watch the sunset! The cafe has got a Mexican vibe! Staff is friendly and helpful! They know the menu well which is a huge plus point! Cocktails were great! An absolute pearl in the city of Colombo. Perfect for a sunset drink or three. Their beef tacos and vegetable fritters were an utter treat, I was so eager for them I forgot to take a picture. By far the best spot in Colombo, and certainly a reasonable price for the atmosphere, view and quality

Nice restaurant to watch the sunset and have dinner. The food is good but also a bit pricy. Note that there is a dress code, of casual, long jeans, no shorts and flips flops. You might not be informed about that if you make your reservation by phone. Booking a table in advance is recommended.

The atmosphere and music is super nice with a Cuban vibes and shill concept. The view is nice and the food was amazing. Ps don't order the beef truffle if you're not good with raw meet.

Okay food but very overpriced for what you get. The menu is different to the one published online and much more expensive - the prices also don’t include tax or service. We spent more than we would at home for less - plenty of cheaper and tastier places nearby. Bit of a trap.

The staff had beautiful energy, the vibe of the place really set the mood and the food was delicious. Shabeeq and Dilshan even chased my future wife and I down the street as we forgot her coat. Perfect night.

店員さんがみんな帽子をかぶっててカッコ良く見える。 もちろん接客もフレンドリーで気が利いてます。 何度か行きましたが食事は今のところハズレはありません。 夕日を見ながら生ビールを飲むのを楽しみに行きます。 食事は予約して行かないとテーブル席は難しいです。

One of best place to see the sunset! Enjoyed the delicious seafood with big lobsters! Would love to visit again!

お値段は高いが、すぐそこに波という最高のロケーションでお酒と美味しい食事がいただける。 アクセスがちょっとわかりにくい。ホテルの入口を入り向かって右奥のドアを通り、すぐに右方向に進むとこのレストランへ繋がっている。
