"Free entry they open at 06hr00 in the morning second time going there for hiking first time inwent with my cousins took the green trail and second time i went with my friend we took the yellow trail tough but worth it"
"Haven't picnicked there in a while ( there are still good, clean facilities there for this though), but it's also a beautiful place to go for a walk or run through a pristine, natural park in the middle of the city"
A well kept gem right here in Roodepoort. It has 3 different trails based on difficulty. The terrain is not monotonous and the views are amazing. The yellow trail had multiple peaks and viewing points. The reserve is well kept clean and safe. There is security patrolling the area. Really worth a visit and all for free
It's FREE!! Beginner hike trails. The history of the mine is there and there are tours about the mine era. There's a Planet Walk where children can learn about our solar system. It's a quaint little reserve. No dogs allowed. No bikes allowed. There's a picnic area where you can also braai. No music, no alcohol.
I have never been here before and for my first time I am impressed. I love the wide open areas where children can run and play, the walking trails, the scenery and the nature, it is just spectacular!! Best of all its free to visit. Made good new friends there as well. Vist Kloofendal and see for yourself.
Free entry they open at 06hr00 in the morning second time going there for hiking first time inwent with my cousins took the green trail and second time i went with my friend we took the yellow trail tough but worth it... I will definitely be going to Kloofendal nature reserve again plus it's close to home
Haven't picnicked there in a while ( there are still good, clean facilities there for this though), but it's also a beautiful place to go for a walk or run through a pristine, natural park in the middle of the city. Great for unwinding but also a prime birding, botanicalling and geologicalling spot!
I absolutely love being able to walk and hike in Kloofendal Nature Reserve! It's wonderful being able to exercise and at the same time enjoy peaceful natural surroundings, beautiful scenery and observe animals and birds in their habitats. So conveniently situated near my home too.
Probably ined og the west rands best kept secrets! Beautiful nature, stunning and challenging walk ways. The most amazing and impressive amphitheatre and spacious picnic areas with ablution facilities on par with the best. All this still for free!!!
A beautiful piece of nature situated in Roodepoort. The reserve is very secure with ample parking. This is a great place to bring your kids for a Sunday picnic as there are child friendly hiking trails and a outdoor play area. Great views.
The Kloofendal Nature Reserve is a great place to visit that's a hidden gem amongst the more popular nature reserves around Johannesburg or even within the area of its location. There are 3 different hiking trails on the offer, much to do
I have been frequenting the Kloofendal Nature Reserve for the past seven years. I visit here at least once a week. This is my go-to place when I want to hike on the trails, relax or just chill out and read. It's an awesome place to relax
Beautiful place, has got braai facilities, ablution facilities very clean and well taken care of. 8 planets of the solar system are featured there, very interesting for leaners. Very good for hiking, walking, and picnicking. Security is
Entrance is FREE! Beautiful views, lovely place to hike, alone or with a friend. There isn't much shade on the trails so avoid hiking when the sun is fully out. Also, the trails aren't too hard, so if you're unfit, you'll be fine :)
Wow wow wow!!!! If you are reading this now, I will waste no time and tell you to head there right now, or at least plan to. The hike trails are awesome and when you get to the top of the mountains you feast your eyes with the most
An amazing hiking trail for all ages an fitness levels. There are 3 to 4 paths you can pick from to hike from easy to more strenuous. For those who like a challenge should try mixing the trails for an even more special experience.
Lovely spot for a picnic or to take a walk. Well maintained, beautiful scenery and safe. Some shading areas are available- lapa's, benches underneath shaded trees etc. Braai facilities available. Entrance is free. Highly recommend.
What a Great place to take the family for Sunday afternoon walk. Many birds and indegenous trees. Park look great and very green after the rains. Difficult to believe we are in town and can enjoy nature In true sence.
An enjoyable and easy hike. A suitable hike for the whole family. The shale is beautiful. I did not enjoy seeing houses and fences all the time, burnt ground and litter but then again there was no entrance fee.
A beautiful place for hiking or even a light walk. There are three different trails for your preferred intensity. Good elevations as well. PS: I do apologise for my nasty camera quality …
For a free entry municipality reserve, it is tidy and well maintained. A few trails to choose from nothing too technical and some pretty views, stunning protea flowers and daisies.
We love Kloofendal for our Sunday afternoon walks. Other parks are bigger, but Kloofendal is a quiet and safe place for a walk with the family. There is security at the gate.
Beautiful loving nature also a great spot for hiking even if you want to spend some alone or with loved ones peacefully it's the place to be
Perfect for outdoor adventures and hiking lovers. There is places available for picnic and braai. Family friendly with nature guides. More
Was a lovely experience.. I wish the walk ways were more clearer with the trail signs. Other than that was safe, fun and challenging!
Lovely hiking spot with security at the gate, beautiful landscape with mountains. Truly loved it ❤️ ♥️
Awesome place for a quick hike. Place is clean and can become pretty busy.
