I called weeks ago for a color because my roots were showing and the previous salon give me the wrong color. I contacted the salon requesting an appointment with Curley but she wasn’t available the days I had off and the days I was off she was as well. So, I asked the receptionist is she had someone who is good with color to fix mine. She replied yes and he was available the days I took PTO. I confirmed with her what I had and what I want. She said yes. Got there the day of my appointment, sat on the chair and the guy ask what I was going to do. I explained and he said; I have you for a “glow”. I asked him to clarify what is a “glow” other word for a touch up. I told him that I need to fix my hair to the color usually wear and he replied that will take time and he just have me for a “touch up”. I went to tell him that I confirmed my service and the receptionist agreed and he shows me his board telling me; “that’s what I have you for, and doing what you ask that’s going to take time and i had other appointments”. I told him, if I wanted a touch up I can do it myself for less money. So, he walks away and talked to the receptionist came back and confirmed he had me for a touch up so I walked out. On my way to the reception as he caught up with me by the shampoo area and told me that he has move some stuff around in order for him to provided services. I reminded him he had an appointment with me and he had the time book to provide service but he didn’t want to do what I requested. He kept saying I move stuff around to assist you and I replied “me too, I took a PTO to spend some time at the salon and to do a touch up I can do that myself. I was on my way to reception and he stated; if you wish not to have service I have your CC on file and we are going to charge you. I went back to the chair, he put the product and leave it for 45 mn for the roots, nothing else. Came to check on me once. The worse part I had to paid the salon $150 for a touch up, rude attitude and a service that I not requested. Feels like he was doing me a favor, instead of me paying for services that did not meet the expectations, standards and decency of the establishment and my persona. I have done couple services at the salon and have other stylists done my hair before, but the snooty attitude of the stylist it was not worst $150.

Well, this has got to be one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had! First, my stylist Joe claimed to have used 7 bowls when he actually used 4. It wasn’t about the money, it was about getting what I wanted and paid for as it was way too pricey. Not to mention, completing my entire hair! Second, when I called to complain about how unsatisfied I was with my results, Jeannine claimed to have been “calm” but was actually straight up rude and very unprofessional when discussing the matter at hand. I’ve never had someone so young speak to me as if I were a child. It felt like I was dealing with an immature and inexperienced business woman in their first year of business. Third, their cancellation policy is ridiculous which wasn’t disclosed when walked out and I clearly said I did not want Joe touching my hair again and wanted to go with someone else who had more experience as obviously he did not. As a paying customer, that is my right! I shouldn’t have to “pay” more money to get what I initially asked for. The way this business is being ran is a scam and now looking at these reviews, it doesn’t seem like I’m the only one who has encountered this same experience or that I’m the only one feels this way. They say they strive for a “5 star” rating and that if you’re unhappy with your experience then to let them know, but when you do, you get an attitude with unprofessionalism. I am warning you, do not waste your time or money on this unprofessional and inexperienced business. You will walk out disappointed!

Didn’t ask for it as well that even explain what they putting in my hair. I feel like I overpaid for something I don’t even like as well as it was my wedding so they overcharged me I went from light to dark I went in for a touchup got a whole completely different color the price is ridiculous they charge you off of product they use on your hair versus they should do a consultation and inform you what you’re getting yourself into before after they use the hair products I’ll never paid 531 dollars for my hair, untill now and that I didn’t like. I didn’t wanna make it fuss because it was my wedding Didn’t ask for it as well that even explain what they putting in my hair. the next day and just didn’t have the time to sit more hours on something shouldn’t been done the first place. I would never come back to this place as well as we refer this business.I did ask couple of times how much will it be to them and before I made an appointment not once did they inform me it was more than 500 she told me less. Never again hair style Lexy wouldn’t recommend.

L & J is super cute and a good place for going if you want blonde hair or extensions. BUT to my full figured loves here in san antonio this ain't the place for us sis. You have to wear a black robe and although it's cute it's a O/S sooo if you're larger it won't close properly. It's embarrassing. The chairs are very closely placed together so stylists sort of sit on top of one another. You hear the word sorry soooo much if anyone has to get up. PARKING is atrocious so God be with you when you're either backing up from the front to busy McCullough road or running across the street from the parking lot they have an agreement with. I had started going to l&j in 2020 when they fist opened and recently stopped going when my stylist left the salon this summer. I dont think I'd go back there to see a different stylist or get other services they offer. But it's a cute salon, very trendy & they do use Oribe so the products smell great.

Ive had a couple months to think about this review. I initially put 5 stars because of the promotion and the person who did my hair was so kind. Unfortunately I won’t be returning. There was a mix up in communication of what I wanted and the color was different. She said she’d fix it but just put a glaze on top and it just darkened it. It wasn’t what I wanted and they did give me a discount, but I wanted my hair done for my birthday and I ended up crying about it. If she would have been able to fix my hair the second time I would have remained with the 5 stars, but I was told to put some dawn on it to lighten it up. She did tell me I could come back for a third time, but I wasn’t confident in my hair being fixed especially for the amount of time I had to be there. This is just my experience, the person who did my hair was genuinely sorry about the mix up and attempted to make it right which is amazing.

I saw both Curly and Jeannine at L & J! I cannot say enough great things about this salon. I love the warm and inviting atmosphere that is so chic. Curly was so attentive and mindful of my hair health through out the lightening process. She colored my hair to perfection! Jeannine gave me the best Great Length Extensions that I have ever had! She makes you feel like a long time girlfriend, not a dull moment in the conversation. The extensions layered so beautifully and left me feeling so confident with length and thicknesses. The extensions are very well hidden. ;-) The extensions take a bit of time but most of the girls in the salon spent free time hanging out with me when they could. It really helped pass the time and made me feel like I was hanging with “the girls” for a day. L & J is my go to spot and I would not trust my hair anywhere else!

L&J Beauty Salon is a gem!!!! Lexy and Jeannine are amazingly talented at absolutely everything they do. They are professional, punctual, hard-working and never miss a beat with my hair. It is healthy and happy for once and I get compliments all of the time. My brown hair used to always turn reddish a few weeks after coloring (especially in the summer) and I have never had that happen since going to L&J. Belle and Kathy are also wonderful anytime you need a gorgeous blowout and the entire staff is welcoming and nice—they have built a fantastic team. I have been to countless stylists through the years but cannot imagine letting anyone else touch my hair after finding these fabulous ladies! Our city is very fortunate to have this kind of talent right here in San Antonio.

I found this salon on Instagram & got in with Caroline. From the moment I walked in the salon, I was pampered. I was given a tour of the salon, offered a mimosa, put on a robe for my color services. Caroline greeted me & I showed her pictures of what I wanted & she immediately showed she was confident she could do it. She is super fast at foiling & I was so pleased with how many foils she did for a full highlight. She is super sweet & we had a great time talking. She applied a toner to my hair by mixing in 3 different ones to get the perfect color. IM IN LOVE WITH MY BLONDE! She is so talented, I trust her, and I will absolutely be back! I even got a handwritten card in the mail thanking me for coming. Thanks Caroline, you are fabulous!

Because of the great reviews and recommendations from others I thought this would be a great place. Would not recommend for those with ethnic or non straight hair. I have curly hair and the stylist brushed my curly hair dry. And if you know curly hair you know this is a no no. I did ask the stylist beforehand if she had dealt with curly hair before and she said yes. Went for highlights and the stylist died the whole bottom half of my hair blonde. But because my hair is so dark it looks orange / brassy like it was a box die. Cost almost $400 with tip! There was 0 customer service, my stylist nor the ones around me were talking to their customers

I’ve been going to L and J beauty studio for years and they are the only place I trust with my hair in San Antonio. Jeannine is not only an insanely talented stylist, colorist and more but she’s a great friend as well and brings a great energy to every appointment. Through all my seasons - dark, light, extensions, you name it - she’s made sure I look and feel my best. Not only that but facials with Grace are the ultimate self care day.. and a spray tan with Alissa? This place is a one stop shop for all things beauty. Absolutely love them and will always recommend them and their services to anyone in the SA area.

Recieved the most amazing service from Belle! She was supporting, kind and patient with me since this was my first time ever coloring my hair. She made me feel so special since it was my birthday weekend. I loved the experience and will definitely be back. 100% recommend her as a stylist and appericate her hard work. She took me in last minute after a confusion with my appointment but gave me all her attention. She was very friendly and overall an amazing person to have this experience with.

Hands down the BEST salon in San Antonio. They listen, pay attention to what you like/want and they deliver on it every single time. I’ve been to both Lexy & Jeannine for cut, highlights, balayage, color, extensions - everything - and they are both extremely talented. The salon is so cute & cozy; with a boho theme, beverages & snacks available, it’s super clean and the associates and other stylists are so so so sweet. I will be a client for life!

The absolute best place in town to get your hair done! Jeannine and Lexy are both experts in color and extensions, they have handled my hair for years now and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. The salon itself is beautiful and every person I encounter there is friendly. There have been several appts I’ve had to bring my baby and have him sit on my lap and they are always so accommodating and understanding. Cannot day enough good things!

If you are looking for someone who knows how to color blondes, Lexy is your girl. I have been to many stylists before finding my forever stylist with Lexy and they never delivered on the color quite like she can. Not to mention she works super fast! She is also very talented when it comes to extensions whether it be for an event or for every day use. Highly recommend her

VERY overpriced. My daughter was very unhappy because she did not received the color she wanted. She was told that she needed more sessions in oder to get a Overall platinum blonde. Her hair is already Blond, so I don’t think she needs several sessions for that. Anyways, She ended up paying over $200 for Highlights she did not wanted. She was very disappointed!

This is the cutest little boutique salon . Lexy is absolutely amazing and will literally give you exactly what you want! She's awesome! My hair always looks even better than expected! The whole vibe of the salon is great and everyone is super friendly! The products are upscale and smell amazing. Totally love it and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I went for a belayage and it turned out pretty, however after 8 days the hair changed color and I came back for a color correction. Joe charged me for the belayage again plus two treatments that he did not ask me if I wanted it. prices were higher than New York. almost 400 dollars for each appointment and the color is not what a expected.

When coming to L&J I always see Curly. She is amazing and always exceeds my expectations. I came in today to have my color done for my wedding that is a month away. I showed Curly a picture I found on Pinterest and she literally matched my hair to the picture perfectly. If you’re someone who wants great hair, definitely go to Curly.

I have been coming to L and J for about a year or so now and I absolutely love it!! All of the staff is so kind and personable , the atmosphere is so cute and welcoming and above all my hair looks so pretty after every appointment. I have seen Lexi and Kathy and love both of their work. Absolute 10/10 recommend.

Cash was absolutely amazing! I grew out my hair for years after multiple box dye treatments, & I wanted to change it up. I went somewhere else previously for a haircut and the girl completely ruined my hair. Cash brought it back!! Very confident and happy with the services. I will be back. 100/10 recommend.

Literally the best salon in San Antonio! The whole team is amazing! I go to Lexi for my color and hand-tied extensions and have had both Cash and Caroline for styling and they are all phenomenal. The salon is also so comfortable and feels like home, not stuffy or intimidating. Highly recommend.
