"Picked up some Scones takeaway at the Mosman shop and found out it doesn't come with Jam or Cream, they were extra so I might as well get it and paid for it but instead of cream the staff gave me butter but by the time I found it I was already a couple of suburbs away and I was in a rush hence takeaway"

Picked up some Scones takeaway at the Mosman shop and found out it doesn't come with Jam or Cream, they were extra so I might as well get it and paid for it but instead of cream the staff gave me butter but by the time I found it I was already a couple of suburbs away and I was in a rush hence takeaway. And this also happened to my friends at another instance. Unless you eat in then the staff doesn't listen and palm you off quickly. Not appetising when the bread and items are sitting in glass cabinet that is open and there are flies on it.....and we all know flies carry germs. Learned my lesson so won't go back. You wanna go then good luck to you.
Update 2 January 2021 - I went in today...and reluctantly paid $6 for an almond croissant. Alas... to support a local business and workers in this tough times. Best wishes. Nov 2020 - The Shrinking Almond Croissant...As an Avalon resident I have been a customer of La Banette for some 10 years. I love my almond croissants. Price has gone up from $4.5 to $5.5 and just recently I realised they are visibly (at least 10-20%) smaller!! If we cant trust our politicians, bureaucrats, corporations, priests... and now even our bakers! who can we trust? Please shoot me.
The only thing that is remotely similar to a French Pattisserie is the name. Revolting, usually overdone to burnt pastries, quiches & pies that are grossly overpriced. I was charged $12.00 AUD for 2 Sausage Rolls which were more carrot than meat and was asked if I wanted to pay extra for sauce! Also $3.50 AUD for the smallest Lemon Tart I've ever encountered! My advice is go a little further north towards Palm Beach and call in at Oliver's Pies. Really delicious fair dinkum pies at sensible prices!
After an amazing Barrenjoey Lighthouse walk, or family decided to look to Google's suggestion, attempting to find local dessert recommendations, which then led us to this. It was indeed amazing. We've bought heaps and for what I've tried, the croissant is amazing. The blueberry tart was also just right, not too sweet with fresh blueberries, and an crunchy tart base which I love. Will definitely look for another chance to make our way over!
No doubt about it - quality and variety is excellent. However, price points are outgrageous. Since just before Covid, prices have hiked 20-25% when inflation/CPI was barely 1-2%. Cannot bring myself to buy anything from La Banette when there are so many equally good options available in Avalon and Palm Beach - particularly for Baguettes and Sourdough bread.
No coffee.... which was sad, the croissants were ok, but not anywhere close to being as fresh and great as Rollers in Manly. Me and my partner were pretty disappointed with the freshness. Also the one in Mona vale was closed when we tried to find the bakery there. The chocolate eclairs were nice though.
Love the eclairs. I grew up eating eclairs and it's one of my favorite dessert french pastry. While staying in Avalon Beach on the weekend, came across this french patisserie and had to try the éclairs. I was not disappointed at all and would recommend anyone who loves eclairs to try it.
Love being served by the beautiful bubbly Fleur fabulous treats for all tastebuds

Sometimes when I wanna eat a cake, there is only one place where I go to buy it.. And this is la Banette.. and to arrive here I drive from Sydney, so it's a long travel for a cake but it's worthy for me The mousse strawberry cake it's pornfood
Baguettes aren’t real sourdough baguettes. Just white bread in the shape of a baguette. Very disappointing for a French bakery. Either they don’t know the difference or don’t care.

One of the best. Everything here is amazing. In particular, the mini lemon meringues and lemon tarts, croissants, cronuts, veggie pies and on the breadage department we love the sour dough baguette and white round. Great cakes too.
SO SO SO SO SO GOOD! There was a line waiting to get in so we figured we should check it out, and we got a sausage roll and a dill cheese stick, and the pastry was to die for!! Definitely get the dill cheese stick!!
Great food, excellent quality but they don't accept cards, really inconvenient and would have spent more. Really need to get with the times and let customers pay by card. Would give 5/5 if they accepted cards.
La Banette provided pastries and paninis for me and my bridal party, as we got ready on the morning of my wedding. The team were so professional and helpful! The pastries were delicious! Thank you so much!!
Have to try their Quiches! They have a pretty big range of Quiches, the Leek & Bacon is definitely a favourite of mine! They also have a great pastry selection and wonderful types of breads.
OMG the donuts at this place are awesome ( Not available Monday Tuesday and Wednesday ) They also have a a lot of other beautiful bakery items, their hand made pies are also very good !!
My favorite bakery. Not the cheapest but still great value given the quality of their products. Love their light rye loaf. Their sweet pies are to die for. Totally worth a visit.
Hands down STILL the best croissant I have ever had. I have searched far and wide, (you have no idea) but nothing has ever compared to these cultured butter beauties.
Amazing pastries and fresh sourdough! Picked up a danish and almond croissant this morning, and am now on my way to grab desserts for after dinner this evening.
Amazing place with absolutely beautiful quiches. Tarts, cakes and croissants are even better!! Must go in and buy something every time I come to Avalon!
EVERYTHING is first class. I would work here for free just to learn the secrets. Off the main drag, small unbranded shop but there is always a queue.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this shop ... faves are semi sour dough loaf, hot french stick and strawberry mousse cake ... 1000/10!
Just yum. The most delightful and delicious pastries and breads around. The smell from their store is incredible.
Delicious pastries and quiche pies. Staff are friendly with prompt service. Would recommend
Staff is never overwhelmingly friendly but I don't care cause the pastries are that good.
Fantastic authentic patisserie
