Sešli jsme se zde s přáteli, abychom společně povečeřeli a popovídali. To druhé se ukázalo takřka nemožným... Hned u vstupu mě oslovila sličná hosteska "Hellouuu". Po mé odpovědi "Hellouuu, já tady mám rezervaci..." jí očividně pohasnul úsměv a ke stolu mě nedoprovodila, slovy: "Je to ten čtvrtý stůl vpravo." Jasně: smrdím korunou - nemám doprovod, pomyslel jsem si. Možná to byl jen můj pocit, ale právě pocit spoluutváří celkový dojem! Obsluha u stolu výborná, pozorná, sympatická. Telecí řízek byl vynikající! Lehký bramborový salát jako by byl dovezen ze školní jídelny - suchý, nevýrazný. Chtěli jsme s přáteli trochu probrat život, ale trochu nám do toho házel vidle mladý zpěvák, který má jistě talent, ale když se u stolu neslyšíte, dost to vadí. Nakonec jsme si povídali, když zpěvák měl pauzu, a jedli, když se chopil mikrofonu. Ale jeden očividně "španělský stůl" zpěvákovi tleskal. To způsobilo, že naše "povídací pauzy" byly kratší a kratší, neb povzbuzený zpěvák přidával... No, restaurace je to krásná, ale působí to na mě spíš jako (s prominutím) "cirkus" pro turisty. A to nemám nic proti světským ani proti turistům! Je to zřejmě úspěšný koncept vizuálně pěkné restaurace, ale na dobré jídlo lze zajít také jinam, kde se navíc uslyšíte.

Hello together. I went to dinner yesterday to this place and the food was more or less, the potato mash was watery, the duck breast definitely overcooked. But what motivated me to really write this review is service, it was awful, it really ruined my night. First I asked the waiter if we could change to a counter, as the table we got is on the way, his answer was he doesn’t understand it, as near counter people walk as well. But he doesn’t need to understand it, I as a guest need to feel more comfortable:) Then he was pushy with ordering food, in general everything he did, he showed his attitude, and also discussed with his colleague( he thought I don’t understand Czech, but I do and he was just inappropriate). So everything he did was not about serving and making guests feel comfortable, but about showing his attitude. I didn’t ask for manager and made a big deal about it, only because I didn’t know my date well enough and also didn’t want to ruin the evening. I gave 1 star for service, but it is 0 stars

Cute place with live music, great beer, a delicious appetizer sampler plate, goulash, and a huge pork knuckle main course that 3 people couldn't finish. Live music was really good too (just one guy on a guitar but he was great). Only reason why we didn't rate it 5 stars was the service for our main course was really slow. Our waiter completely disappeared after our appetizer and goulash. We followed up with the ladies who cleared our tables on where our main course was after we saw two people sat, ordered, got their main courses and left and we still were waiting for ours over 35 minutes after we were done with our appetizers. I think he forgot to put on our order and also forgot all about us sitting upstairs. So either they were understaffed, kitchen was slow (though sone communication would have been nice so we know what's going on). Finally it came and we took a lot if it home as by then we had been sitting there for too long. We are in Prague for a few weeks and probably will try one of the other places nearby next time.

Reservation a must! Easy to do via the website. Food: Quantity: 5/5 Quality : 4/5 Taste : 4/5 We had Staropramen dark beer and smoked pork ribs. The beer was great and one of the best dark beers I've tasted. The smoked pork ribs were served with horseradish (the taste of which I personal dislike), mustard, pickles, big chillies (bonda/big ones) and bread. It tasted quite good and is filling if eaten by one person, it may be perfect for 1.5 people. Price: Totally, our meal costed 495czk (21eur) which is pretty good but not the best. Atmosphere: Great atmosphere. Due to the reservation system, it was not crowded at all. The ceiling was high and there were a few christmas decorations. Service: Great, friendly and nice service. The waiters were friendly and patiently answered any questions about the food. We didn't have to wait for the beer and the food was served soon, as well.

Vše probíhalo v pořádku, i jídlo bylo ok. Poté jsem šel na toaletu a informoval obsluhu, že se vrátím a budu ještě chvíli sedět. Když jsem se vrátil, zjistil jsem, že mi jiná slečna sklízí stůl, což chápu, asi neměla předané informace. Řekl jsem ji, že jsem zmínil kolegyni, že zůstanu a rád bych dopil svůj čaj. Slečna mi s pohrdavým tónem sdělila, že už tam nic nebylo. Vysvětlil jsem jí, že mi ho přinesla před chvílí kolegyně, ačkoliv chápu, že tam toho nebylo moc, rád bych si ho dopil (měl jsem kašel a čaj mi bodnul). Nakonec slečna přinesla ten zbylý čaj, bylo tam dost na celý šálek s pohrdavým tónem a řekla, "Tady máte ten plný čaj." Vždy mě mrzí, jak může obsluha ovlivnit celkový zážitek, přestože je to pěkná restaurace, kanceláře máme poblíž a ostatní obsluha se zdála být v pořádku. Stačilo by jen říct: "Aha, kolegyně mi neřekla, že tu ještě budete. Skočím pro váš čaj."

From the outside, La Republica almost appears like a stereotypical bar. Once inside, it had more of a beer hall vibe with an interesting combination of modern, art deco, and traditional Czech styling. Service was alright and accommodating. Some of the women wore traditional Czech outfits, whereas all the men and some women wore modern outfits. Aside from the interesting thematic variance, the traditional Czech food was delicious! Tried the small sausage plate and duck breast main course, both of which were full of flavor. It was similar to other eastern European countries I have visited, but with some unique local interpretation. They do have live music that plays in the center of the second floor usually starting at 8 pm. Given that most of the patrons were Czech and not tourists, it reinforced the sense that this was a legitimate place to have a great traditional meal and beer.

La Republica was ok. I wouldn't describe it as anything special. The pulled pork sandwiches are big & Meaty, my girls each had one but honestly they could've shared one. I ordered the smoked pork belly. It was more like an appetizer although it wasn't located in the starters area. Afterwards it ordered the duck Pate both are similar in style. Hubby ordered goulash. He felt like it was good, traditional came in a small pot but he said it was enough. The prices were reasonable. Easy to find. A woman played piano & sing pop songs. She was ok, she had a good voice. The staff was very friendly. Happy to help & very patient. Tables are big, some booths for larger groups. Bathrooms were clean, however the one room contains 2 stalls, one for male, one for female. I am stating this because it's not exactly obvious. Otherwise, We all felt satisfied.

Service was good and fast, I heard in the past than Czech are not the faster serving tables, today was pretty good. Food was good, the pork knuckle tasted good however the skin was not crispy at all, so I was a bit disappointed. Perhaps an additional sauce will be good because it was a huge portion. Guinness size 0.4L - interesting... smaller than the standard one, but this one had lack of gas. Goulash soup also good, but small portion. Kids liked the schnitzel

Very nice place for dinner. We had goulash as a starter and it was excellent. Then the veal snitzel and lots of pilsner beers. The staff were great and made sure my glass was never empty and they were able to get us in right away since we were only a party of two. The restaurant itself was really nice with a bar that went on for days but was also classy. Great prices too.

Sometimes rude staff. Yesterday I kindly requested another table as I am short and for me sitting on the sofa it would have been difficult to eat. The waiter answered me rudely "There are many restaurants, you can go away if you want". Adding with disgusted face "You are Italian, right?!". Immediately after us, he brought up customers, who we verified hadn't booked, on the balcony, almost to spite us. Bad service!

La Republica umí překvapit. Z venku člověk nic moc nečeká, ale interiér už je rozhodně zajímavější. Obsluha výborná, všímavá, příjemná a ochotná. Věnovalo se nám více lidí a všichni byli perfektní. Co se týče jídla, tak jsme si poměrně pochutnali, nicméně i tady jsem zaznamenal klasický nešvar, kdy nejsou brambory v polévce nebo u přílohy dovařené. Je to zbytečná kaňka a kazí to celkový dojem. Za těch pár minut v hrnci navíc by se zákazník nezlobil. Káva dobrá, neurazí. Celkově velmi dobrý dojem, můžu doporučit, rozhodně i na obchodní jednání, prostředí je velmi zajímavé. Rád se vrátím.

It's hard to find a more disgusting service. We reserved a table, we were asked 2 times if we would eat, otherwise we would suddenly leave little in their establishment. They gave us a seat right by the door, although there were other empty seats, we asked to change seats - they rudely answered that it was not possible. Then other people came, it was clear that they just came in - they were seated in the best places. The administrator is of the type that she needs to sell tomatoes at the market, and not work with people.

We were referred to this restaurant by our hotel. The menu is traditional Czech foods and beer. We had Goulash soup, Beef Noodles soup, grilled pork knuckle, veal schnitzel, and Apple Strudel. The highlight of our meal here were Apple Strudel and beer. The restaurant was very lively and the staff was relatively friendly. We sat by the window so very much enjoyed watching life in Prague. If you need to use the restroom, it was very clean here. Overall, the experience was very enjoyable during our 3 days visit of Prague.

Was here yesterday for drinks and snacks. Priced decently, though not exactly the best prices in town. Slightly higher than what I expected. It was crowded when we went in, though we managed to find an empty table. Terribly low number of waiters given the number of guests in the restaurant. They need to employ a couple more in order to not stress the current waiters and reduce the time of an order being served! Overall, it was a good experience. The waiter who served us was very polite and helpful.

If you are in Old Town, you must come to La Republica. The food is fantastic and the servings are generous, the staff are friendly and they have a good mix of traditional and modern dishes. The honey cake in particular is something you must try. I ate so much I thought I might bust. The atmosphere is also fantastic. This is my favourite restaurant in Prague. To make things even better, they had a possible sighting of Dirk! My search is back on!

Their menu is translated into English, so it's easy to read and to order. Beer is super cheap and delicious here. We ordered the goulash soup which was super yummy, the pork knuckle and the sausage variety. Every dish comes with a side of mustard, horseradish, and pickles. The food was delicious in general.

First off I recommend making a reservation to ensure you have a nice(window) seat at this popular restaurant. English menu is a plus. Traditional dishes with quality preparation. The grilled duck breast was delicious and the half duck was huge. The goulash wasn’t my favorite and I wish I would have ordered the smoked sausages. Service was excellent and the staff was friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Nejenže dobré pití, ale i vynikající jídlo a velmi milá obsluha. Jako bonus tam hrála živá hudba jako kulisa ... místo působí velmi příjemně. Na Prahu cenově přijatelné (míchaný nápoj do 200,-Kc dle výběru a hlavní jidlo cca. 300,-Kc - mají dražší, ale i levnější... za 4 hodiny cca. 1.000,-Kč útrata na osobu). Mají tam vynikající tatarák a jejich barbecue žebírka chuťově úžasná.

We had an excellent meal here. Started with the sampler of starters. Excellent beef tartar and pate. The beef goulash was very good (my first time trying bread dumplings) and my husband had grilled duck breast. Unlike many of the reviews here, the service was excellent! Especially considering we didn't have a reservation. We were seated promptly and the food came out in very short order.

Went here for dinner our second night in Prague. It was across from out hotel, and we were exhausted trying to think of where to eat, so we just settled here, after my husband saw the sign about serving "tank beer" - which he had quickly come to love about Prague. The atmosphere was excellent. Mostly all locals at the time we were there. Had an excellent dinner. So great we came back the next night.

A very, very, very good place to be. Here you have the chance to enjoy a delicious and luscious meal with live music. The price is, according to the load of the meal, very well-balanced. The beer tastes fine and the waiters are good. This was our first visit here, but we will definitely be back in out next stay in Prague. It should be a must visit for every Prague guest. I love it.

This place was so fun and cozy. We came at night and there was a live singing performance as well. Tried the traditional Czech soup and the beer-marinated pork ribs. Hearty and tasty meal. Would have gone back if we had more days to spend in Prague.

In terms of atmosphere this restaurant is nice. Service was also good. However the food was not great. We had two soups, duck filet and pork chop. The soup was cold and not very tasteful. The duck was very well cooked and had a taste of liver. The patatoe pancakes were very tough and not really edible. The pork chop was really good. For the food i would give only 2 stars.

We had a reservation for 8pm on Saturday but finished with our day early so we got there around 6:30pm and they were able to accommodate us almost immediatedly. Waitstaff was very attentive and friendly; anytime they noticed my glass was empty someone would ask if I wanted another. I had the goulash soup, ribeye steak with potatoes and a cosmopolitian; all were perfect.

An livey trendy location for dinner. The waitstaff are very attentive. The musician -singer was very entertaining. The food served is first class. We had the pork chop which was huge & the smokehouse saugaes where delicious.

It's a enjoyable restaurant serving good Czech beer an delicious food. Convenient location, quite busy during tourist season. The only reason why I'm giving 3 stars not 4 is, I visited this restaurant with my American guests and first I spoke to the waiter in English and when I spoke Czech his attitude toward me has changed to not being friendly anymore.

If I could I would give 10 stars review. Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, good service. The food was incredible, very tasty, the meat was cooked exactly in the point, the mashed potato with bacon it’s also delicious. So far the best restaurant I’ve visit in Prague, well done to the Chef’s they definitely know what they are doing

Waited one hour for our meals, which although quite good, were not so good as to justify the price. And be careful asking for water. We asked for tap water, and they charged 99 CZK. Yeah thanks.

My husband ordered the Pork Nuckle and he did notice a smell about it. That evening travelling on a train to Budapest he was violently ill, vomiting and diarrhoea. It was food poisoning from the pork. The worst thing to happen when you are on a holiday.

Really nice interior and friendly service. Yes, we waited for our main course for 30 minutes, but it was fresh and tasty. This is a nice stop for a traditional Czech cuisine with more game meat offering than usual. On the tap there are many bears by Staropramen and plenty of booze in general.

It‘s a solid culinary experience. Everything was tasty, but not life changing. Service was good and fast. Would definitely not come back as there are more locations to explore in the city. But it was okay for Saturday evening where all the better rated locations, were completely overbooked.

Very good restaurant and bar where you can enjoy typical Czech cousine. Portions are plentyful and quality is good. One plus is the ambient: warm and confortable with wooden tables and leather armchairs. Service is kind, but not fast... So just sit and enjoy beer and music.

Nice place with good food and good service. We ordered wienerschnitzel and steak with pepper sauce, while we took one of the starters - a mix of four different cheeses - as desert. All were perfect. On top of that a four man live band delivered nice dinner music.

Great Czech cuisine. We had goulash and schnitzel and it was delicious. I recommend a shot of lime Beherovka after dinner.

Genuine czech food with an extra twist. Well cooked. A dixie/blues classics atmosphere when it comes to music. Nice atmosphere. Perfect service. Well worth a visit.

What a great meal. The duck was tender and juicy and the pork chop was delicious and large. The jazz band was very good and did not drown out the conversations. The Bohemian Honey cake was light and very tasty.

Classic Czech food near shopping mall. Big portion but still cheap.

Really liked the atmosphere here. Came with two of my friends and we all loved the food. Really friendly staff, which was great since I don't speak Czech. Had the duck breast and it was fantastic.

Great place for a traditional czech diner. I recommend you the duck better 1 portion for two with a lager beer.

It’s a rammed packed bar that serves huge portions and has live music... it’s good honest food which you should make a booking for, especially in the evenings, and it’s quite tourist friendly.

Osobně jsem měla jen gulášovou polévku a ta byla vynikající. Musím vypíchnout pána co nás obshluval. Jeho dobrá nálada byla nakažlivá

The bar was closing down at 23:15 but the customer service was on the point! The staff was so kind to us and the bartender was so sweet!! Would come again (and we will) 5 stars no doubt!!

Pleasantly surprised by the amazing food. We went in thinking it’s a pub and didn’t have high expectations, but had an amazing meal. Service was great and is in a great location.
