Such an amazing restaurant! We had our wedding dinner at this restaurant, and I can't praise them enough! My parents, my husband, and his parents went there for lunch before the wedding to try it out. When we had our lunch, the service was wonderful; very personal, informative, and efficient. I am a vegetarian, and I ordered the fusilli vegetariano, which isn't a dish I would normally get (I almost always go for tomato spaghetti), but I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try something new. The server told me more about the dish, and how much she loves it as well. She even recommended dipping the bread in the oil sauce (fantastic idea, so good!). My father is a chef, and he was absolutely blown away with how great the carbonera was. When he told the server it was the best he's ever had, she told the chef Annie. Annie is such a sweet woman, and came over to say hello. We all enjoyed ourselves, and agreed this was the place to have the wedding. Annie was so kind and offered us some complimentary desserts, which were phenomenal. We were originally going to be in the lounge, but we had minors in the wedding. They have a great area to the left of the doors in the restaurant, which is partially blocked off with walls, so that was perfect for us. My father in law asked if we could move the archway to make room for people, and Annie was happy to do so, which is amazing, and it gave a much more open space for everyone. We wanted to do a reduced menu, and they accommodated for that perfectly. Annie even offered to print out the menus for us, which was so kind. They looked great. Everyone raved about how amazing the food is, how lovely the décor is, and how great the staff were. Thank you so much for an amazing experience, you helped make our day very special. We will 100% recommend to everyone possible, and we cannot wait to come back!

Spent 90 dollers ordering from this restaurant through skip the dishes. Both there phone message and the website said they were open until 11:00pm. Order went through from skip the dishes but was cancelled because they had actually closed. They did not turn off the ordering service so we did not get our food then had to wait 10 days to get reimbursed. Two days later we tried to order again another 90 doller meal. As we just moved into a new place we needed cutlery. In the order we asked literally 6 times after every meal request may we please have cutlery. When the order arrived, ofcourse it had no cutlery and was missing one of the meals from our order. When we called the restaurant they refused to do anything about it. The manager refused to send us out the meal they had missed with the missing cutlery. Then he refused to reimburse our order. Basically told us too dam bad. The food that did arrive did not look good at all. Thrown together like it was done by my 3 year old, which is giving them to much credit as my daughter could have done a much better job. Not that we could eat it anyways because they did not send the cuttlery we requested 6 times. This service was absolutely horrible, and the food did not look good at all. Ended up just throwing it in the garbage. We got ready and went out to eat at a restaurant that could serve a simple meal without any problems. Clearly the staff at LA Viena is extremely incompetent and the manager is unfamiliar with the phrase customer service. We will never eat at this restaurant again. The fact we tried to order twice in a row and they couldn't even pull it together one of the two times is enough for me. Get it together people your looking like a God dam mess out there.

Cozy & comfortable dining atmosphere with charm & character! It feels like a piece of Italy without leaving the country. Annie & the staff were very friendly, the service was excellent!! The pasta & sauce are always freshly made in house from scratch. The ingredients & quality are top notch. My man & son had the classic spaghetti w/ meatballs (regular size & kid size). I ordered their salad with chicken (well seasoned, crispy exterior w/ juicy & tender interior) from Annie's Specials Menu & made some substitutions/modifications, as their La Viena House Dressing (a perfect blend of spices) is the best! For dessert, the chocolate mousse is smooth & creamy, rich & decadent, with just the right amount of sweetness, my personal favourite. Their tiramisu is absolutely delicious! Both are made in house from scratch, I emphasize this as many restaurants have the same generic desserts that are ordered & shipped from what seems to be the same supplier (for example, the chocolate hazelnut pear) or just regular ice cream that can easily be picked up at any store. I can't speak for everyone but I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness & care of not having pasta from a box, sauce from a can, jar or factory or dessert from a popular chain supplier, as some restaurants do. If you're looking for REAL food with real ingredients & recipes, made freshly in house from scratch, then this is the place for you!

I LOVE  this place!!! My boyfriend and I eat here all the time and it's our favorite Italian place ! The service is always great the staff there are all so friendly. The owner is honestly the sweetest lady ever and we always have this lovely gentleman waiter that is really great and his service is fantastic and he's always able to help suggest things. Now to talk about the food ! Well it's our favorite because of a couple reasons ! They have so many options it's amazing and the flavourful are unreal. I have tried every vegetarian option and loved every single one. The place is a cute old-school feel that's very comfortable and very calming and a great place to go have a quiet dinner. I actually crave this place all the time I love how many options I get there! This place is amazing if you haven't tried them you are missing out! We either do dine in or pick up and always impressed how fast it is. This place also is keeping it very safe and clean and making sure to follow all safety rules. Your plate and utensils are always cleaned perfectly and re packaged for you to keep it safe and clean. They have tables separated to so this would be a good safe place to go eat :) Thanks guys for your amazing food and service we look forward to many more meals with you guys!!

me and my family discovered this restaurant one day randomly and i’ve been craving it ever since. fresh italian food is absolutely delicious here!! i usually get gnocchi, and this time they had deep fried gnocchi on annie’s special menu! they let me modify the dish a little and WOW i loved it! they even let us have a second helping of bread so i could dip it into my pasta sauce. we also had calamari which was a huge portion. last, we’ve tried a few of their desserts - mango cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, liqueur infused desserts, and more! overall, the welcoming staff, great music, food, specials, and atmosphere definitely have us coming back to this gem over and over!

I work close by but had never been to this gem along 16 Ave until recently. I went back yesterday with a colleague and Annie remember me. We chatted for a bit and then ordered. The pasta dishes are phenomenal. We ordered garlic cheese toast to start. Then dove right into our main lunch orders. We had the fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and the tortellini forno. Then after we were done, Annie brought us a free dessert. Wow! The service was excellent and she was friendly and knowledgeable! She also owns the restaurant, we think. Nonetheless, we enjoyed every minute of our lunch together. We will definitely be back. Thanks so much for the wonderful lunch and break from the work grind!

We ordered Alfredo… About four bites in I found a 5 inch hair in my sauce… My hair is only 2 inches long… Both of us were grossed out and did not finish eating… The restaurant and delivery service felt it was appropriate to only refund the affected order… I spent 10 years in the restaurant industry and that is not how it is handled… I asked the general manager if he was eating with someone and they found a hair he would continue eating his, and he said yes… I think most people would be grossed out as were we, and had enough for the night … I feel the appropriate way to handle this would have been to refund both meals

Probably the best order from Skip the Dishes that I have had to date. What was actually a large order was ready within what felt like minutes, to the point I assumed something might be wrong. Nope, it arrived 100% accurate, tasted amazing with generous portions. They even packed some dishes in two containers so that we received the full portion. That just doesn’t happen usually with delivery. Delivery orders are probably a pain for the kitchen, especially during peak hours on a Saturday night. Great job and thank you. The unfortunate part of delivery is that you can’t buy the chef and kitchen a drink after such a great meal. Cheers

Great experience! It was busy the night my friend and I came so we waited a little bit to be sat. The waitress was constantly apologizing for the wait and sat us at a table far from from a loud crowd. That was considerate of her and brought us our drinks. A different server came by to give us some dinner rolls which where warm and I liked them! Both servers were very pleasant with small talk. I enjoyed my food and I think the price point was fair. Hi we are from the Okanagan we came to Calgary February 10 to Celebrate my brother's retirement. We came your Restaurant for supper your service was excellent. You had told us you only had 2 cooks working that night. So it took a little longer for our food but it give us a chance to visit and enjoy a glass of wine. Ended up at this restaurant only because Earls down the street was full and very glad we did. Food was excellent, the staff was super accommodating for our kids. They substituted lots of things, even put two pieces of cheese toast together so we could call it a grilled cheese sandwich for our toddler. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the food and service was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Skip the Olive Garden and other chains, go here. I had the spinach fettuccini Alfredo with sun dried tomatoes, delicious.

First experience getting take out was not good. We got two buns that had some mold with our order. When I called back to let them know about the buns. The person on the phone insisted the buns were made fresh that day. I told them I surely felt a hard and moldy bun. She then said bye and hung up on me. Leaving me feeling like she got caught. I went to the restaurant and got my money back. But definitely not getting take out from here again.

First time eating here, since they moved from Kensington, glad we came. Party of 6, were encouraged to share plates, which was really good because of the variety of dishes. This restaurant offers a huge menu of different pastas and appetizers. I usually get the blue cheese gorgonzola ravioli which tastes wonderful. I was hesitant at first, but with the wonderful help of Marco, I gave it a chance and did not leave disappointed! The blue cheese is not too overpowering. The restaurant is clean, never too loud and the service is excellent. Marco is a great server. It's unfortunate that they don't offer many desserts without alcohol in it. Overall, great experience!

This is my favorite place in the city to go for a nice and cozy dinner. The pasta is SO GOOD, especially the brie one. The owners and staff are so good to the customers and really care about your experience. The food is so flavourful and filling. The calamari with a little lemon juice is a 15/10 with the marinara, just a wonderful experience. You know the place is well cared for and loved. We recommend it to any friends who want something reliable, reasonable priced and tasty.

Came in today (Friday) for a birthday party (9 people). They were quick with service. Everything was super clean. They even give you a disposable baggie to hold your mask in at the table so they don't just sit on the table. They gave the birthday girl a free shot and dessert. Even put on Happy Birthday over the speaker system. They also printed out coloring sheets for my 4yo son (didn't ask). Food was great. Portions were good. And service was amazing.

Amazing fresh pasta with warm rolls and awesome service! Loved our visit and will be back again for sure! Great Date spot! Definitely a must go to if you love Italian food!

Place looks old but authentic. I like the arts that is hanging on the wall. Place looks a bit old. Food was real good and the selection of Italian food was quite a lot. And services was even better. They made me feel like a family. Not many restaurants makes you feel like that. Tried this place for the first time, everything was great from the start. My favourite little touch was they provided us with a bag to keep our mask in while we dined. The appetizer and pastas were delicious, the service was excellent and to the highest standards of Italian dining. On top of that, the prices were very modest. Add in the decor and it was a truly quality experience.

A cozy atmosphere with a candlelit dinner. Waiters/waitresses were attentive and the food came fairly quick. Decent meal portions with a creative spin on some dishes! Not a huge fan of the location due to the constant flashing of the speed cameras on the traffic lights. Slow down speeders, Christmas is almost here! Would recommend for a meal with friends and family :)

Everything seemed ok until later into the dinner our waitress Marlene became extremely rude and sarcastic to us. Probably the worst service I've experienced in Calgary. Warm atmosphere, excellent service and food. Ordered Fusilli Du Chef paired with a couples Stella's served in icy chilled mugs. That along with an order of Calamari before our main was a very satisfying, and fairly priced evening out. Also I love their dinnerware, beautiful plates. Kudos to the chef and our gentleman server.

We often go for birthday dinners amongst friends. Have been going since they were a small place on Kensington Road. The food is always great. Portions are huge. Service is beyond fantastic. It’s a place we used to take our parents when they were in their 80’s. you know how hard they can be to please. Prices are reasonable.

Amazing fresh authentic Italian cuisine. All the dishes we tried were seasoned well. We had a fun time when they made some birthday noise for our celebrant. The hostess and owner is a vibrant lady and it is easy to understand why this restaurant has stayed open for the last 22 years. Looking forward to my next visit.

There is a wide variety of meal options on the menu, allowing everyone in the family to find something they like. The portion sizes are quite large for the cost (including the alcohol!) and the food was great, we especially loved the gelato. We enjoyed our meal and will certainly have to return when we're in town!

The penne pollo peppe funghi is my favorite dish! The after 8 dine in special on pasta is a great deal too.

Pretty bad. Pretty much everything seems frozen and the microwaved. Gnocchi was rubber, cannelloni seems uncooked, yet the shrimp was way over cooked. The veal was like eating a shoe. I do not understand the good reviews for this place. Easily the most disappointing Italian I’ve ever eaten.

Escargot was delicious, definitely more than worth the price!!! Pasta dish well it was not home made pasta, sauce was tasty, but had to use a spoon to get all the flavours of the sauce. Chicken was flavorless, pasta a little bit Al diente for my taste. Best part was the escargot!!!

We've been going to La Vienna for years in their old location. Great food, reasonable prices, great staff. Last night the food was great, service excellent and the entertainment outstanding. They had a Flamenco guitarist who entertained without overwhelming us. Great!

Best Italian food in the city. Whenever I am in the area, especially before shows at the Jubilee, this is where I have dinner. Customer service is impeccable and the prices can't be beat.

The service was truly incredible. We were served by the lovely and personable owner, Annie. She made sure our experience was perfect. Aswel, I ate the best bruschetta I have ever tried in my life. All of the food was delicious and I am eager to come back!

The food was surprisingly great! The taste of the noodles and fettuccine was both pleasant, mouth watering, and kept me eating until I finished my whole plate. My only comment would be that their wine prices were a bit high in comparison to their food.

At year 20 this restaurant remains a gem of Italian pleasure in Calgary. Authentic dishes cooked to perfection. Great ambience for romantic dinner. Excellent value for lunch meeting specials. Welcoming and experienced long term staff. Very good value.

This place was once the best pasta place in Calgary, after moving they have gone down hill. The first time we went after the move the food was less then good ,a huge disappointment from what they had been. Past was not fresh sauce was runny

Good food with good prices. Sometimes the sauces are a bit saltier than usual as we've come often but for the most part the food tastes great. Warm buns and butter are provided at the start of the meal. Portions are pretty big as well.

Was delicious and super authentic. The waitress went above and beyond, she was awesome to our kids as well. Thought I'd post a couple pictures seeing as the ones I saw on Google didn't give this place justice. Definitely recommended :)

We enjoyed our meal at La Vienna. We really enjoyed the fresh dinner rolls and the kids enjoyed the Provolone Alla Milanese. We also liked the Combo Casa as our mains. The service was child friendly and timing of our food was perfect.

The food here is excellent. I have to say this is one of my favourite places to eat. The service is very good. The prices are reasonable. I'm a bit of a foodie and this is definitely in my top 5. I highly recommend you give it a try.

Reasonably priced, I had the ravioli with garlic tomato sauce and it was to die for! Our waitress was very attentive to our needs and the food came out quick! Overall great experience and will be back next time I'm in Calgary.

Great pastas that are made in house! It’s hard to beat the price for what you get, and everything we had was tasty. The spinach fettuccini was unexpectedly delicious, and the Brie cream sauce on one of the pastas was lovely.

I had spaghetti con polpette and my wife had jambalaya linguine with sea food. It was awesome. Tasted good. Service was friendly price was good. It was so nice that I had to ask for take-out of the spaghetti con polpette.

Truely an authentic place for Italian dining. I had a veg pizza and a portion of pasta which were really delicious. The server(seemed owner of this restaurant) was very friendly and helpful in choosing food from the menu.

Beautiful setting. The owner is very friendly, making sure all her customers are happy and personally thank them for their business. The owner warm welcome and appreciation for our business makes us want to come back.

My husband and I have wanted to try this restaurant for quite some time. It did not disappoint. Prices are very reasonable. Food is great and the staff provide excellent service. We will definitely be coming back!

Super friendly, excellent service, extremely good food! If I was going to nitpick, it would just be that their bathrooms need better cleaning & updating. We will absolutely eat here again if we're in the city.

Amazing service and hospitality, we even got a free dessert for the wait! The best blueberry cheesecake I've ever had. It's delicious pasta and chatting with the hosts will make your night.

Year after year, the service, and quality are first rate at amy price. Tonight i fell aback in love with Caesar salad. A simple dish but hard to get right. Bravo to Annie and her team.
