Pleasant square with phenomenal views of the White House. The square is named after Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette. A French aristocrat and military officer who fought in the American Revolutionary War, commanding American troops in several battles, including the Siege of Yorktown.
While this park is typically a spectical, do not let our democratic voices distract you from taking enduring pics. There are three things you might like. Head just above the statue of the horseman and President Andrew Jackson and now facing
September 12, 2023 is the date I visited the Lafayette Square. The square had weeds, overgrown bushes and dangerous sidewalk bricks in need of repair. The lack of concern for this historical park, practically in the front yard of the White
If you are going to Washington DC and want to see the White House you really cannot avoid Lafayette Square. It is a large square filled with tourists, many Secret Service police and protestors of all types. There are statues in the Square
Large spacious park sitting in front of the White House. It’s a must visit spot in DC to not only see where the president lived, but to experience centuries of history in this renowned square. Absolutely gorgeous in the spring and winter
Best place to get some white house pictures, very lively place with lots of people from all over the world, and occasionally some people holding banners for political causes from all over the world.
This experience was the highlight of our trip outside of my best friend's graduation from Strayer University. It was truly a humbling moment as well as an educational one for the children More
Very safe and enliven democracy for American. The law enforcement officers, specially Policemen are super friendly and professional in what they do. Thank you for keeping kur country safe!
Small but lovely park with amazing statues that emit the sense of glory and greatness of the American Republic. Other than regular protesters, you will see many squirrels, gees, etc.
Probably the best place to get a good view of the White House. Statues of prominent men are worth checking out, otherwise the park looks just like a typical urban park.
Clean, beautiful, make sure your ready to walk a lot. Hilly terrain but worth it. There is a tour you can pay extra for if your not up for the walk.
This is closest point from where you can see the white house. Things to keep in mind, traffic , parking are a mess in DC. So plan ahead your visit.
Nice park in front of the White House. They do provide several bench's which is nice. No bathrooms however and not a trash can in site.
Good park with a grand view of the white house. Nothing else is there. It's really difficult to get any parking around the park. More
Nice park right across the White House. Good photo spot with the White House without the black bars in the photo.
Small park in front of the White House. Took photos of the White House here as we were not allowed to go closer.
Come here for a good view of the White House! This is nearer compared to the other side of the White House.
Very calm space to meditate or morning running. And of course beautiful view on the white house backyard.
The food is delicious, real butter biscuits, healthy ingredients, warm environment, and friendly service.
Lovely park with great photo view of the White House, plenty of magnificent statues, paths, and bemches
Great views on the front side of the White House and can see the Washington Monument in the distance.
Beautiful park with great views of the White House. Very well maintained with beautiful flowers
You get closer looks at white house from here... you can sit and chill in the park benches..
