Came in yesterday evening with my boyfriend for a bite to eat and was majorly disappointed by our experience. We had ordered at 6:15 and had our drinks come out very quickly and our starters, which was two small bowls of tapas, came about 25-30 minutes after ordering. The tapas was lovely, a small portion but we didn’t mind as it was a lead up to our meals. We then had to wait almost two hours for our mains to come out. All within this time 4 separate tables (a party of 2,3 and two 4 tables) were all seated, served and paid the bill and left before we even got our food, we felt as though we had been forgotten especially as we were a small table of two. After ages we finally got our food and it was a let down. My boyfriends ribs were 90% fat with the remaining meat being incredibly mushy and flavourless. My burrito was burnt and again had no flavour. We asked for the bill half way through our meal as we were already late for a gig and didn’t want to stay in this place any longer. Over £100 we paid for something we didn’t enjoy. Now obviously we know it was going to be busy and a bit delayed as it was a Saturday and this was at no fault at all from the waitresses as they were all super friendly, clearly rushed off of their feet and apologetic when our food eventually arrived but waiting two hours food not nice food was off putting. Overall the drinks cocktails and taps were really nice and the staff was lovely, it was just a shame about everything else!

To be completely fair, it was my first time and it was also a Saturday night so it was quite busy, however, we got there and immediately got served our drinks but then had to wait another 30 minutes just to order starters, and then another 20 to order our mains, the food was delicious, hot and fresh, overall the food was high quality and the portions were big but it's a little bit expensive for me personally, so are the alcoholic drinks (they're average prices is £10 for a cocktail and the mains are average £16-£20) the atmosphere also was a big let down as it was quite loud and a little cramped. (I might change this review if I ever go back for lunch) Ultimately, the food is amazing, portions are big and tastes authentic, however the service was the biggest negative, it's just too slow, and the prices are a little expensive personally. If you want to try authentic Mexican/ south American cuisine with a lovely atmosphere at an affordable price range in Leicester, I'd recommend bodega cantina.

Leicester has unfortunately been the worst Las Iguanas for years now, just doesn't seem to improve. The staff honestly don't want to serve you, took us ages to order as the QR code wasn't working, turns out no one had opened our table, and it felt like all the staff were ignoring us when we were trying to get their attention. I have waitressed for years so I do understand how hard it can be, but it just felt like no effort was being made for customer experience. No one came over and checked on us, our drinks were weak and it just felt very unpersonal, especially considering the place was dead. I think we could have walked out without paying and no one would have noticed (we didn't lol). I had the Pescado Blanco from the summer specials and it was delicious! Would definitely recommend that dish, Its just such a shame about the service.

This was supposed to be a nice birthday meal for a party of 7! Our server Liz didn’t acknowledge my birthday at all, no smile whatsoever & it felt like she didn’t want to be there. Flat awful atmosphere. Cocktails were buy one get one free but this seemed pointless as the glasses were tiny so it makes up one glass anyway. So this is absolutely null. Had to go upto the bar twice to get our own paper straws. We had to ask Liz twice to check with the chef regarding the chilli salt being left off the steak, she clearly doesn’t care about the customers at all. Food was overpriced & the portions on the fajitas were an absolute joke the cheese was tiny and came in a tiny pot half the size of a shot glass & barely covered two fajitas, my partner had to ask for more & we got the same tiny sizes! No steak knife was given either! This is not hearty Brazilian food this is an embarrassment to Latin America. Worst birthday meal I’ve ever had.

I normally like Las Iguanas and I have had many positive experiences there (Leamington Spa and Coventry), but this was not one of them. The service was slow but that's okay because they were understaffed. To begin with, our virgin piña coladas were not strong in their coconut or pineapple flavours. The Mexican poppadoms and fries were fine. However, the mains were too spicy, even for someone who's used to really spicy food. One was manageable (veggie enchiladas) and the other was inedible (no goat curry) because of the spice level. We sent it back after a few bites and didn't wanted it replaced but we still got charged for it. The churros were very delightful but the dulce de leche sauce was to runny. Atmosphere wise, the music was too loud though this expected for most restaurants now. I will probably go to Las Iguanas again, but will give the Leicester branch a miss.

Booked for a large table 15+ Saturday evening. We were seated at the back and it was like a sauna! No air con or any breeze it was very uncomfortable. We pre ordered a few days before but two dishes were left out on the day which they made later and it was refunded in the end. All the drinks given were watered down and had no flavour, my friends had said the same thing that all their drinks tasted very watery. Food took a while which was understandable as we were a large table but honestly speaking, 70% of our table did not enjoy their food. Some had even not even touched their food after first bite. The curries and fajitas looked and tasted very dry and unappetising. The chicken burger was dry. I won’t be ever coming back to this place again…Expensive and disappointing food.

The manager was drinking on the restaurant floor. She then went to the front counter on multiple occasions to send texts. She totally ignored several customers, and no one came to ask if my food was ok. I had to ask if I could order drinks, I went to the counter to collect them as 3 staff were stood talking but as I got close my drinks came to my table. The alcoholic cocktails tasted like fruit juice with zero alcohol I won't be going back! Manager you need to get off your phone and get a grip of the staff. Going to work is not a social gathering customers are paying money to have a good experience I saw several customers getting off their table to approach staff because they were just stood there chatting. VERY POOR ALL ROUND

The food was pleasant, but the fajitas had hardly any flavour, no spice at all. At £21 for 4 small tortillas and a few bits of meat and very small dips it was also expensive. Ordered a side of chips so just over £4 and I got 4 chips. Yes 4 chips for just over £4. If this was a unique flavoursome meal the prices would make more sense but for a semi microwaved meal this wasn't great. The service was good however, staff are doing a great job, but I don't feel this place is good value for money, better places for better prices.

Absolutely horrific. I've never been to a bad Las Iguanas until Leicester. We booked bottomless brunch for 5 of us and during those 2 hours we only got 4 cocktails as the service was crazily slow. The food was disgusting. I wouldn't even feed it to a dog. There was no aircon so literally every single person was fanning themselves with the menus and it wasn't even hot outside. Honestly wish we went to Turtle Bay instead as it was such a waste of money.

Just had our Team Christmas meal here. Place was empty and so lacked atmosphere. Hats instead of crackers?We felt cold throughout and some of team resorted to putting on their coats. Fab time at a lovely venue. Buzzing atmosphere and great food. Cocktails were gorgeous and staff were friendly. Look out for the service charge though as it's added onto the bill automatically so you have to ask for it to be taken off if youre not tipping or want to choose how much to tip which is awkward.

Our server was Liz for bottomless brunch, she was so friendly and lovely & checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything / wanted to order more! Would deffo recommend

Went there on Friday, the toilets were overflowing with excrement and tissue paper. Staff did not seem bothered when I first reported it. When I approached them again they did close the toilets. Did not stay for food after that.

Came for bottomless brunch for a friend’s birthday. The environment and staff service was on point. Alistair was a absolute gem and everything was amazing (food, drinks etc)

Food good and fresh, but not the most staff during our visit. Very pleasant team working, but we could've probably got another 3/4 drinks if they were more attentive

Food was fantastic. I went for the Calamares starter and the Chicken Fajita stacks. The staff were all helpful, will definitely return.

The food was good, 2 for 1 cocktails aswell. We had a party of 10, the service was fast and they made sure we had enough drinks.
