The guest house was nice and cosy. Very neat and the breakfast was good. The lady in the kitchen was friendly and helpful. However, there was an incident which I have to relate here to warn others: My wife and I visited the guest house for two nights the beginning of June 2018 since it was our anniversary. Prior to going there we popped in to view the place and it was then that we saw that they were advertising for a special of R690 per couple per night including breakfast. Hyperli, the online specials, etc. site, that I subscribe to, also advertised for the same price of R690 per couple per night including breakfast and it was there that I saw it for the first time. We even confirmed with the owner, Paul, prior to the time we actually went whether the price would be the same and he assured us of that. On arrival at the place, we were shocked to find that there was a form with a total amount of R2180 that we had to pay and I had to sign the form. Renier, was the person at the reception counter I gave the money to. The next morning I told the owner, Paul about it and he said that we shouldn't worry about it and if there was a mistake they can deposit the money into my account. We left it at that and booked out the Sunday morning and Paul said that he'll contact the 'owners' and let us know. There was correspondence on Whatsapp between myself and the owner, Paul, which can serve as proof if need be. It's been almost a month and still no money has been deposited into my account. We feel that we should warn others of the owner and his partner in crime, Renier as we certainly have been conned. I would just like to put it out there to warn potential guests of the owner and his schemes as he can do it to others as well. Regards.

The owner did his best to accommodate our group after an unfortunate event where our money paid in full for a wedding was taken by the previous managing company. He offer accodation in lieu of.... which we accepted although it still came way short of what we paid. We found the GM extremely unprofessional. She does not make you feel welcome at all. Everything is an issue. Check in had hiccups even though we booked specific rooms months before. To the same with check out. You are reprimanded about everything and anything like little children in front of other guests. Can't do this can't do that. Not one of our group was comfortable at all. Her assistant on the other hand was absolutely fantastic. No juice for breakfast? Not being a coffee or tea drinker that option would have been great.

Our stay at Le Bay Lodge was excellent as our host and all staff received and treated us with great care and exceptional beautiful hospitality. Tania, the manager really made our stay wonderful as she literally catered for our every need and checked up on us regularly to ascertain our well being. She was also willing to share the venue’s many facilities and options with us during our stay. Moreover Le Bay Lodge is practically right at the beach and most convenient in every way. Only went to eat at the restaurant.... The cost of the food was not close to the quality of the food.... The chef made the pork crackling that you felt the crunch when biting into it.... The service was not good as the waiter took it for granted that it was "Buffett" lunch which wad rationed as per the owners instruction.... Well, for the cost, it is more like a carvery than a buffet per say.... There is a dog that is allowed to walk anyway in the restaurant as well as the kitchen.... This can be seen as unhygienic and should be addressed by a health inspector....

Prima plek om te slapen. Op loopafstand van de baai. We hadden een kamer met een balkon om lekker ook buiten te zitten. De ligging naast de straat is wat minder, maar 's nachts is het behoorlijk rustig. Het ontbijt was prima, maar niet heel erg uitgebreid zoals bij de meeste andere gelegenheden waar ik verbleven heb. Niet heel erg modern, maar wel goed schoon.

A Quality matress, is always a first I look at and they really did their homework. Always hot water no matter what time of day. What surprised me was that I could walk bare feet from my room to the eating hall and back without my feet getting dirty.... Its scweeky clean and the staff are always helpfull and eager to assist with anything. Will recommend them to all my friends and colleagues.

Had the best stay ever .From the reception up until the rooming to the room. The view from the room was to die for. Regarding the load shedding just to have a back up with generator. Further more i cant wait to come back for my next stay. The friendliness over flowing and it feels like one big family there. Do keep up the good work!!! More

It's close to all amenities, walking distance from the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean, the food is excellent and Tania makes u feel u are home, she is an excellent hostes. I love coming here every time

Unable to rate since the experience left bad taste in my and my wife's mouths. It's bad enough if guests use profanities in the presence of women, but if the owner goes even further in his own use of language, he does not deserve a rating. First and last time

Booked a last minute spot and the lady was so friendly, she patiently waited for us to arrive and thereafter the great service just continued! Clean rooms, amazing breakfast and just a general good vibe!

Beautifully quaint, hosted a baby shower there and the owners put in a lot of effort to decorate accordingly. Drink prices are a bit steep but it is beautiful and right on the beach

Terrible they room are dirty they 1 breakfast every day and the manager is rude,, we have been staying here fr 10 days our sheet were never changed

I've been to La Bay a few times and I must say that the people are so friendly and accommodating. Definitely one of my favourite get away spots.

Candy is such a friendly, she made us feel at home and made sure we had everything we needed. Rooms clean, beds comfortable and good breakfasts.

It has a welcome home feeling. Excellent service and room staff. Order in or eat in main dining area. An after hours bar till 2am.

Centrally located, lovely homely atmosphere. Wondefully clean. The management goes out of their way to make your stay fantastic!
