Tldr: they left my car idling on the footpath of parramatta road with the windows down and the hazards on for 30-40 minutes (recipe for a stolen car, anyone?). When I asked the boss, Sanja, about why this happened, he gave me a verbal lashing. Still got my pink slip hence 2 stars. big lol. Full story: I came in to the shop to get a routine pink slip. The mechanics were fine and they ran diagnostic tests to meet criteria for pink slip. All routine. When this was all done, my car was then 'parked' on the footpath along Parramatta Road (the road out front of the shop). I was asked to wait in the customer waiting area whilst the pink slip was sorted online. The waiting became prolonged. Whatever, things happen and waiting isnt too big a deal. When I went out to checkout my car, as I was bored and restless, I discovered that it had been sitting idle, windows down, and the hazards on the whole time. When I asked Sanja, the boss, why this is happening, he ordered me, with a dismissive flick of the wrist, to turn the car off it it made me uncomfortable. ... why was this happening in the first place? The mechanic who left my car there said that we cant park on the footpath and, hence, hazards on, windows down, and idling. Ummm... okay??? Chaotic logic but fine. I guess. Compromising the security of my car for a closer parking spot. Awesome. When Sanjay gives me the pink slip, I ask why the above is an established practice, he tells me: "I dont have time to answer your questions. That's what I pay my mechanics to do." He continues to keep me verbal hostage as I just want to leave and call and end to my experience with this place . A good use of our 'precious' time. Sanjay, you're a riot mate. I really don't recommend this place but, at the least, I got a story outta this place.

I had my newly bought old car serviced here. I’ve learnt you can’t trust them to do what you’ve asked them to do and you have to double check everything yourself. I asked for major service and paid $750 for them to miss changing the BLACK brake fluid on my front brakes. I only found this out by going to a different mechanic 4 months later. For months I was driving on spongy brakes to the point that I thought I needed to upgrade my old brakes. I went through the workshop manual for my car and found that the front brake reservoir had not been changed at my major service. The fluid was black as the ace of spades. I had a different shop bleed the brakes and now the car isn’t a dangerous death trap. The radiator coolant was sludgy and brown after only being changed 4 months prior by Kismet, my car was running really hot even on cool days. I had to call a mobile mechanic to flush the radiator (properly) with a hose and refill the coolant… I have had not a single problem since: the coolant is perfect. This was 5 months ago. I attempted to complete an oil change on the filter they put on and broke two oil filter wrenches because of how tight the filter was put on, it was crossthreaded and slowly leaking. I was able to get it off after hours. Who puts on an oil filter on that tight and cross threads such a basic mechanical task? A cheap shop trying to pump as many cars as they can through to make as much money as possible. I have had to spend an arm and a leg to get mechanics to do the job Kismet were supposed to do, that I paid $750 for. It’s criminal how bad this service was. Do not fall for the good reviews like I did. This shop is dodgy and I’m really disappointed in the service.

Had a bad experience, I booked my car in on Thursday 5th October and advised it had an engine fault and they advised me to drop it in on Friday which I did . Car was in limp mode. On arrival completed the booking and advised me they would contact me later in the day with a price for repair after a scan. Rang just after lunch and advised they would get back to me, heard nothing and tried to contact them in the afternoon to no avail. Rang again Saturday and was advised will be checked on Monday. On Monday after lunch rang for an update, mechanic advised he was waiting for the boss to advise to work on the car, and suggested I text him. I texted Sanjay and he responded advising to contact the mechanic on another number, I tried and got no response so texted Sanjay again advising I need my car back, I had no idea what was happening. He texted back , diagnostics completed , invoice ready, come and pick up the car, I texted asing if it was repaired . I then received a very unpleasant phone call advising me to pick up the car as there were 40 cars in front of mine etc., couldn't get a word in. Had my wife go pay for the scan and tow truck pick up the car. Funny thing is my wife recommended this company based on previous experience for servicing, when she paid the bill they told her the car had not been booked in. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but wont be back or recommend to anyone.

My Toyota Rav 4 is a company car and during work I hit something that left a deep dent on my front bumper. Usually I go with the Rav 4 to a Toyota service center for service and the odd repair. I bought an original bumper from the Toyota centre and they told me they'll install it within one day. Long story short, I was told by the Toyota receptionist that the mechanic couldn't mount the new bumper, so I was left with the old dented one on. I went to Kismet and they mounted the new bumper without problems, in a timely manner. The communication with the owner was very good. They also told me they could have provided an aftermarket bumper for $200, instead of me paying an original one for $600. Good to know. Kismet was also very patient with payment. My company uses Fleetcard for car related purchases or service. Fleetcard made a mistake in Kismet's bank details, so the payment got delayed for weeks. I would highly recommend Kismet to other companies with a car fleet. The advantage with Kismet compared to a Toyota center, like in my case, is that you can talk directly to the owner or to the mechanic, who get the job done.

I called Kismet mechanic on a Sunday because my rego was expiring the same day about 4 months ago and they were open and working to my surprise after calling a couple of mechanics prior to them! On my first visit they finished the job quick and convincingly. And on my second visit today, for a regular service I stayed here for a while and the owner Mr. Sanjay was very welcoming to me and all the other customers something which I didn’t see in my previous experiences. Sanjay evidently has a lot of knowledge on mechanics of a car which he demonstrated when I enquired him about my service details. One other aspect that I haven’t come across prior to this. The place is strictly adhering to all Covid-19 rules where everyone is mandated to wear a mask at all times and they have also provided me with a gracious after service sanitisation of my interiors. Quite impressed with the memorabilia and the love this place receives in the lounge room shown in the pics! I would definitely recommend Kismet and will be here for my next consultation!

Be very careful of this man Sanjay. He will come across as a very kind and nice man, but if you end up trusting this man, he will not only charge you 3 to 4 times more, he will also do a dodgy job on your car. Never leave car behind no matter how much they tell you. Sit there and watch their mechanics do the job infront of you..i got my car serviced once and I was charged twice the price I would pay if i took my car to the dealership. Also, without permission, they will attach car reports and what not which will cost additional. To top it all off, the car report I was being charged for wasn't even of my car. He attached some other cars report and charged me $65 or more for that. Already in process of speaking to ombudsman and getting this all sorted. BE CAREFUL. And reviews ? This man will ask you to give him 5 star reviews whilst you are at his shop, before he even performs work on your car. Now I know how he has all these reviews. STAY AWAY. RED FLAG !!!!

First of all they were very very very very super honest and they didn't try to rip me off with the bills. Its my first google review about any business and they deserve it , i drove 6 hours from a regional town to Sydney and my old car couldn't handle that long drive, i gave a call to kismet mechanic, i told them that i will be driving in 3 hours and i dont have enough time, they took my request as their priority and fixed my car on time, i drove back home safe thanks to kismet mechanical and Mr Sanjay , his energy and work ethic un-matchable thank you sir i learnt a lot from you today especially your energy . they fixed my car and did a test drive and they were not satisfied with the outcome and they re-fixed i dont think any mechanic shop will care this much about the outcome thankyou Mr. Djmaal for that. I am very impressed with Kismet Mechanical! They are trustworthy and affordable. I had a 2005 Volkswagen Golf that had some issues and they were able to fix the issues at a reasonable price. One of the problems was an oil leak where the oil drain plug was stripped (from a previous mechanic). I was happy with the service and after I got the car back the low level oil light didn’t return. So I knew they had fixed the issue properly. Then when I recently purchased a new car they inspected it and I was reassured that I had made a good purchase. Taking my car to kismet mechanical, I know that I am in good hands. The owner Sanjay is a passionate and friendly man, providing great service for his customers. I am always happy with the service and friendly staff every time I visit.

Beware! Just read all the other 1 star reviews. My experience was exactly like everyone else's who gave 1 star. The old guy in the suit was rude and condescending. When I asked questions he went straight into intimidation mode and was super aggressive. My question wasn't even that difficult but he struggled to explain what else could be done to find out why the engine warning light came on even though the computer diagnostic said nothing was wrong. He wanted ME to tell him what I wanted him to do. My mistake, I thought he was a mechanic. They charged $ 125 for the simple computer diagnostic. Last mechanic I went to charged $30 for the same thing. Wow. What a horrible experience. I wonder how they have got all the 5 star reviews.

I have had many mechanical experiences through out my life but this one definitely is the best place to go to and i am going to refer almost everyone i know and specifically Nepalese people if you are scared of any sorts of Mechanical scams and overcharging then dont worry KISMET is the right place to go . The team is very amazing and very respectful.I have been there because my partner works in Berlina and she wanted me to try there and i am never been happy with any other mechanics ever. I really appreciate the work . I am definitely coming soon for my other car. I do NOT recommend using this guys AT ALL. I went there for a pink slip, and I found the owner to be quiet rude. The place made me feel unconformable right away when I arrived, and after reading all the BAD REVIEWS below, I agree with all of them. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Also, I FORGOT my sunglasses there and as soon as I left rant them and they said the glasses WERE NOT THERE, so basically they took them and decided to pretend I never left them there. I went to police to report this issue today, so they will from them. I also told police they made me fill a form so they now have my address and details, just in case they want to harm me. Police is been informed.

I went to this place to get my car serviced and trust me when I say this, this is the best auto repair shop in Sydney. I was amazed by the kind of people who work here. They have immense knowledge about cars and would never ask you to do anything which is not required. Sanjay is an expert, he knows a lot about cars. Moreover, he is also a great great man. He would come out of his office every time to talk to you about your car. If you go to some other places, owners wouldn’t even bother talking to you, but this man has shown me how owners should treat their customers. I will be coming back to this place, I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars.

I've taken my car to Kismet Mechanical a couple of times now - and each time they've been very prompt and extremely helpful to book my car in for service, even on short notice and when they're busy. Their team of mechanics are very timely with their assistance, they're highly knowledgeable and communicate clearly what needs to be done. And they are honest and straight-forward in their assessment and advice. They're also the only mechanics I know of that are open 7 days a week, 7am to 7pm. I'd highly recommend them if you're looking for really good mechanics. I'll definitely be back there for my next car service.

Best mechanic I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. Sanjay, Ravi and the rest of the crew all put in a mammoth effort sorting out my car at the last minute while I was on call at work and just days before an international trip. They were professional and warm in all of their interactions. Insurance has approved to pay $1,000 as soon as you heard that amount, you mark up the price to be $3,000 include labor I’m happy to pay the diagnostic fee of $170 but you shouldn’t shout to the customer when customer asking for explanation! And we are currently under pandemic, you and your staff are not wearing your face mask! no excuse buddy, you have to wear face mask at all time at the workplace

At that time I really need a pre check to buy a 2nd hand car apparently the seller cannot do it on weekday, on 13th of August of 2023 which is Sunday! I call 1 time in morning then 2nd time then 3rd time to book, always pickup my phone call, greet me, very fast respond to the point and warm, met Ravi there and he did all the checking and inform me all the defects even give me a lot of advice even help me extra as I forgot to bring cash and can't pay by card. Couldn’t recommend these guys more!! They fitted me in absolute last minute on Xmas Eve morning when the shop was literally empty and pretty much closed for cleaning for Chrissy break. Sanjay and his assistant were so lovely and kind and made sure I got my last minute service in before an unexpected long drive ahead down to Victoria. Extremely affordable aswell!! These guys were my saving grace so I could make my holiday in time!! Will be coming back here for future services.

It’s Boxing Day and I have a nail in my tyre! Image how desperate I am. I called 10 places they all closed. As I was driving by I saw this mechanic still has ppl in there. They were about to close and leave but was so nice enough to help me! Repair my tyre in just 5 mins and the price is very reasonable. You helped a young lady while she’s very desperate. Sanjay is rude, initially friendly - anger issues maybe. Beware they will overcharge you for sure. This shop is too busy to look after you. They usually get swamped with cars but have less space and mechanics. 1 star for the experienced mechanics, but there are many shops out there with good mechanics and reasonable prices !! Check thier FB reviews for a real assessment of this place degrading in the near past.

This is the best mechanic i ever used in Australia. This service just saved me from paying $4000. The mechanic recommended me to change my transmission oil which another mechanic didn’t tell me that it urgently needs to be changed when I brought my car to check regularly. And my car could have broken down. I am so grateful to have found this mechanic shop accidentally. Highly recommend

I used these guys for a general service and pink slip and would happily recommend them. I wanted to keep the price down and so they gave me the option of fixing an issue now, or they advised the car would run fine and to come in if new issues arose. Great service, great guys who are very honest and passionate about what they do. I was brainwashed into thinking only dealership servicing was the best way to go… not true! After only my second visit at Kismet there is a certain security I now feel with personalised attention that I never had with the dealership. Had a really bad experience having my car fixed here. Waited for weeks for it to be fixed but sat on the street for a long time and never got fixed. Was being over charged for something simple. Plus when I got my car back it had a big scratch on the side I tried mentioning it to them but got no response. I'm sorry it's just that bad. Probably good for minor repairs.

I am impressed with the quick service and the supportive staff. The guys are really nice to get me a new battery (not already available) so that I don't need to go back a second time. I had a good experience. The car had vibration and power problems with the engine, and the reversing lights cost $2,000 to fix. In fixing this problem, this company was perfect. In addition, the air conditioner filter was replaced free of charge without any additional charge. If there are any other flaws, I will go again.
