"Half-decent bakery section, pastries are all good but the pizzas and other daytime edible foods are poor choices and it shows as they’re always left over"
Staff was very rude. Their service towards the white people are very different and very friendly. But towards people of other race is absolutely the opposite. I wont use that word by now you must have already guessed it. I have been here 3 time and all during different occasions thinking that forget what happened in the past and this time must be different. But everytime I had to be disappointed by the customer service teams who are doing the tills before doing the check out. They seriously seem that they don't want to work but for some reason they are doing it and the frustration that comes out from it is vented on poor customers like us. NEVER EVER I AM COMING TO THIS SHOP AGAIN IN THIS LIFE. DEFINITELY WONT RECOMMEND . You can get the same price in aldi with a better service. Or you might try some other lidle which not like this 1. To be honest even 1 star is more is guess. I hope the manger when he comes to work see this and takes a positive approach to sort out this situation. Otherwise it shows how incompetent he has been over the years .
Until a few years ago, I thought that the best fruit can be found in Lidl stores. Unfortunately, things have changed for the worse since then. At this Lidl store, I advise against buying fresh fruit. There are no use-by dates on vegetables and fruits. Rotten strawberries, moldy fruit are unfortunately a common sight in this store. In addition, fruits such as grapes are of much lower quality than those displayed, for example, in Tesco or Morrison. The prices are actually low, but that's normal at a discount. It is worth getting interested in the promotions of products from different countries. These promotions change from time to time. Sometimes you can find here very good quality products for baking cakes, such as trays and springforms. I especially recommend ERNESTO products because they are all in good price and of very high quality. For children, I recommend Lidl ice cream that is not inferior in quality and taste to the best ice cream from other well-known brands, such as magnum.
A new build store of decent size . It was very busy during my visit . Plenty of car parking but only 2disabled bays outside the entrance doors . Other bays nearby tho. Entrance doors were big and wide and operated automatically . There was a further set of doors to get access to the shop . Again these were automatic . There were plenty of little sliding shopping baskets which you could pull along behind You or push . Trolleys were outside in bays adjacent to the store. If there were trolleys inside I didn’t see them but the shop was busy . The aisles were wide and easily negotiated . Staff were available and all checkouts were open . Staff very helpful getting my goods into the trolley. NO WC or restroom in the store
Let the shift manager Andy know about several flies on one side of the bakery. His response was very very rude and he started raising his voice. He went on a rant about flies being in his home, in my home (there definitely aren't flies in my home) and in Greggs (??). About how every bakery has flies, and the food is just going to go in the bin. It's understandable that there may be flies in a bakery, but perhaps they'd want to move the food in the containers with all the flies to the other side that doesn't have flies?? Very disappointed in the staff working at this store. Having seen the other reviews about staff at this store, it seems all the staff here need some training in customer service!
Half-decent bakery section, pastries are all good but the pizzas and other daytime edible foods are poor choices and it shows as they’re always left over. Some of the staff are great there and appear helpful, however one or two miserable staff members have ruined this place for me with poor service. It’s awkward to leave the store if you decide not to buy anything, I’m sure it’s borderline illegal and a massive safety hazard (think EMT’s or other emergency workers). It also takes a while to get served in there, always just one person on the tills with a queue of people waiting (usually seems to be the same staff member not calling for assistance).
Security guard asked us if we wanted to buy something when looking at it, despite several other purchases he was also accompanied by another hostile member of staff. Then followed us all the way sound the shop despite purchasing some items at the till then followed us after this purchase but was pretending to be busy near us... I will avoid Lidl from now on harrowing experience and felt stereotyped. The attitude of the staff was appalling and despite my initial interest in making a purchase on an electronic item they completely dissuaded that decision and it made my anxiety worse. Please see pictures for proof. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!
It's better than the other supermarkets, but what's annoying is that when two tills are open, and you think there are two queues, you're not told after waiting 10 minutes in line with other people that there is only one queue, and it's at x place. That place also keeps changing, so you can never truly know where the queue will be when you get there. Other than that, good location, and the staff are decent except for the time that they make you feel like it's your fault for not knowing about how their queue has suddenly changed, without any signs or verbal communication for 10 minutes
It's a Lidl so you know pretty much what you're getting. They have the staff do everything, that's the model so sometimes it's busy at lunch and there's a queue but in the grand scheme you're not waiting that long. Good range of foods sometimes slightly cheaper than other bigger stores. They do pick & mix nuts and have a good range of bakery items. Middle Isle is for none food items where you can sometimes grab a bargain. I personally choose this for food shopping over B&M or Farm Foods in the same complex.
I do my food shop here and it slashed at least 40% off my food bill compared to other supermarkets. I highly recommend this or Aldi. They have a continental section that changes per Thursday along with many random items you would expect to find in the special buys section of Aldi/Lidl stores. Prices are exceptional plus this place also has a bakery. My advice is don’t shop here on a Sunday of all days. It’s absolutely hectic and tolls are usually really slow. But other than that this place is mint!
Very disappointed with a blonde cashier working there this morning. There were 7 people waiting to pay on till number 4, they open till number 3 and a couple thought it was fair for all us waiting to go ahead and pay for their shopping without blinking. I spoke and I told them to go back in the queue but nobody speak for our rights, neither the cashier.... 2 years later... vegan parmesan and other dairy free products missing... not a wide range f you have milk intolerance or allergy...
This would have more stars however vast improvements are needed 2 tills open long queues didn't open another annoying when people had huge trolly loads 2nd who every was behind the till was a absolute miserable wet wipe no manners no hello no nothing, and other by the bakery the bags are too low anyone with disabilities, elderly, or myself with a bad back couldn't bend down to get the bags very disappointed. Will just stick to more friendly supermarkets where you are welcomed.
Very busy for a Friday tea time when a lot of people have just finished work. Why then do the staff decide to close tills when there are big queues on 3 tills and reduce to 2 tills? The managers don't seem to care about customers wanting quick service which Lidl was all about. It appears that it's OK to open a till to serve a member of staff and then quickly close it down even when there's queues at other tills. . Is this company policy
I'll give it a 3 stars because although they have a great selection of fruit, vegetables, meat and many other things.. all I ever hear is CHECK OUT IS CLOSING and I always think hmmm but why.. there are still loads and loads of people waiting. Customer service is NOT priority in this place not only because of the lack of workers on tills but when you go in there isn't any baskets so you have to go looking around for the them half the time.
Considering lidl is supposed to be one of the cheapest supermarket in the market at the moment its really not that cheap. I came for a small top up shop and only ended up getting a tub of ready made mashed potato and garlic dip because everything else was cheaper in farmfoods on the same grounds. Also there is only a single option of most things, unlike other supermarkets which have 2/3 and even more. Wouldn’t recommend
I have just at visited Lidl in Armley Leeds and had to leave. A large employee male was shouting at a female employee, it was awful, he was so rude to her and being discrimitative. She looked to be of Chinese origin and he Pakistan. I reported it to the checkout operator and she didn't seem interested. The male employee was rude and unprofessional. I was so shocked, that poor woman being harassed.
Obviously it's good its lidl. However look out for the gangs on kids on bikes wearing combat balaclavas who are tooled up and stealing stuff from cars. I saw 3 of them stealing a bike in broad daylight with customers walking around them. The security guard isn't allowed to approach them as they are dangerous. They call the police on them all the time but plod never turns up... welcome to the UK
If you work and end up needing to do your food shop after 17.30 the shelves are often sparse...don't think I've seen full fat milk in the chiller...ever! On the plus side it's not too rammed and often there are lots of things going at a reduced price by 6pm. Just tricky to get to at peak times being just off armley gyratory and the congested stanningley road.
I would just like to apologise for being such an inconvenience to your staff while I was shopping. Never have I felt so unwelcomed in a store. Staff glare at you as if your in their way while they pack shelves and push big cages around. No excuse me, more like a stare down and glare that I need to move out their way. First and last time I shop at Lidl. Ta
Message to the managers of this store. Can you please train your staff. Some of them don't have basic customer service skills. Katherine, it's not customers fault that you dropped boxes with biscuits to other side of counter. It's also not customers fault that your till is not ready for work. I think a little bit of manners won't harm you
Good for most of weekly shopping IF they have it in stock. Very hit and miss on stocking items you buy regularly. The quality of the 'fresh' veg is very poor too - had several different vegetables I've had to throw out in last few weeks. Also, the hand trolley baskets are always dirty - why don't they clean them sometimes?!
It's new, very big and offers lots of great merchandise. It's not everywhere that you can buy a fresh melon and an electric drill on the same aisle! Lots of parking and the staff are always helpful. Lidl offer 3 year warranties on many items and their customer care is fantastic with free phone calls and free returns.
often empty shelves for us that have to come after work but decent selection and often discounts for bargain hunters. Its Lidl so prices are ridiculously cheap just want it stocked up better shouldn't be constantly out of whole milk chicken.... at least farm foods over carpark for the bit you were empty of!
some problems with reduced labels under the empty boxes of some products and helpline is not listening. and has spelling problems. not capable of taking in criticism and they made me repeat myself. compensations vouchers not available in store. only by post. very hard to request call back from manager.
Store manager serving at till no 5 today at 8.56 am is the most arrogant and rude person I have encountered at this store. His tone of voice and the way he addresses customers is appalling. He makes customers feel uncomfortable and not welcome. Something needs to be done. Totally unacceptable behaviour
Not happy with the recent experience. The lady staff at the till was very rude while returning a product which is not even opened and in original packaging. Don’t recommend this specific store if you buy a non essential as you might also get the same experience if you would need to return it.
Went on Saturday was an excellent shop, spoiled by a manager of Lidl, discussing with an employee of Lidl his wage rise expectations on the store floor in an aisle. How very unprofessional and I would have gone mad if it was me. Take that conversation into an office away from the customer.
I got the kind of amazing service you have come to expect from this store. It is always spotlessly clean, good quality products at a fair price, and above all friendly polite and very efficient staff. Always a pleasant experience, even to the likes of myself, who isnt a lover of shopping.
Almost got into a fight when they opened a new check out. I have been a Lidl regular in 3 different cities. Luckily I kept my cool. I had 4 items in my basket. This could have escalated into something very serious outside the building and quite possibly jail time. Avoid
Mask, mask, mask. Other than the pushers and unattended kids running around it was a pleasant shop and I was happy with the quality of the products I bought, still not ready to make the leap from Aldi, but have considered buying a lidl bag so I'd blend in better.
Really nice place to shop good deals on the weekends apart from when you buy wine the box that holds the bottles in isn't strong enough to hold the bottles we bought 6 bottles but 2 smashed when I was carrying them at home apart from that good place to shop
You can actually never go wrong in Lidl, they have everything you ever need! Crisps, got it. Cleaning products, got it. Random flavours of popular brands, got it. A power jet washer or build your own extendable desk, got it! Literally everything.
Bought some Bluetooth headphones which turned out to be faulty. Like an idiot I lost the receipt, walked into the store told one of the employees there my issue and they swapped them for me right there and then. Great customer service …
My local Lidl for my groceries and other seasonal goods such as clothing, gadgets, tools and many more at affordable prices. Sadly there is no PayPoint, ATM or Lotto. There is free parking and a customer toilet for convenience
I like this shop, much the same as an aldi, but it has some good craft beers at £1. It also has a toilet which is a nice offering. Its nice to have two types of special buys It not normally overly busy which is also good
If u like queues. This is the place to be. I'm either really unlucky when I shop here but only 2 cashiers seem to be on serving when I'm in, constant customers of 10 plus waiting in line....all the time. Won't be back.
The middle of Lidl isles are a favourite of mine. You can pick up some real bargains. Food shopping saves me money too, the choices are enough, varied and often have less sugars/fats in products which is always a plus.
Each time I have visited this store the ques have been massive and only 2 or 3 check outs on. Staff around to open up other checkouts but no they would rather have 8 or 9 people queuing down the Isles
Tried to find out if they had a certain bulky item that I wanted to buy in bulk. Apparently there is no way other than visiting a store to find out meaning I could make a wasted journey. Disappointing
Lidl Armley Prices different on shelf, counter surprise product cost 20p more, I know what is 20 pence now but if you think times by every customer give you total a lot .Staff in this shop no manners
Clean, well stocked, wide variety, very decent prices. Even in lockdown, it was an accessible shop large enough to accommodate more people than a typical supermarker...no queues. I shop there weekly!
Lidl was always good cheap store...now most prices are same like in other supermarkets some even higher!! Unfortunately it's not worth to do all shopping there anymore....bakery is soo expensive now
Some parts are good, the frozen and refrigerated sections, others untidy and haphazardly laid out, very frustrating. Also no staff to ask questions of. Only 2 tills open and a number of people waiting.
Always enjoy a bit of cheeky banter with the friendly and helpful staff, occasional wait at till (par for the course), but always and enjoyable visit. Competitive prices and good range of products.
Love lidl, fresh cakes and essentials everyday living stuff. I know it's not everyone cuppa. Buy you just need to go. Hunslet doesn't seem to be open, but halifax Rd Dewsbury or armley Rd armley.
Always big queues reluctant to ring bell. Shelves quiet often empty. Shame cause it's set out well and clean. In now and 15 in queue with two tills open. Staff available on shopfloor
One of the shop floor managers (he had a foreign accent) was absolutely fantastic! Very friendly . Thank you for the empty boxes. Helped us so much. Great store! Nice and clean.
Polite staff but it's just like Aldi. All my big weekly shop piled up at the end of a small till, that I had to put back in basket then take to a tiny shelf to pack into my bags
I get that I am foreigner and brown but It does not mean that cashier would talk to me like I am deaf or uncivilized. He literally shouted in slow words.i feel like humiliated.
Really good quality food and friendly staff! They could do with opening more tills though, when I last went down their was just the one open and quite a few customers waiting!
I love it, staff extremely friendly and helpful, tidy, always staff on their toes keeping shelves toped up and organized, they have a lovely smiling faces and sense of hummer
Store is your typical Lidl store. Good selection of items, excellent bakery section, which we promptly raided on our visit. Checkout was pretty quick. Can't fault this lidl.
One of the better Lidl shops to go to. Would give a higher score but they seem to have discontinued a lot of things we buy there and stocking can be hit and miss in general.
Easy to park, the products are well displayed. I was fascinated the quality and price of the vegetable. At the end i have loved my shopping trip in that lidl. Well done!
Best place to go for all bakery fresh pastry needs, you can even pick up toilet rolls, sleeping bags... all sorts of drinks and if you really need... cat food …
New store with good choice of foods if you don't mind not having any of the usual labels on display. The food is still good and much cheaper then the big supermarkets.
Not much on the shelves and most fresh produce VERY short dated, most of the milk only had one day on it. No fresh chicken hardly at all. A bit disappointing really
Usual Lidl store. Got the usual merchandise At the usual Low prices. Ran out of croissants the other day !!! The fresh large one . Was late in the day. Nice branch.
Absolutely disgustingly filthy public toilets never seen anything so horrendously minging. Wee and poo everywhere Even put me off shopping, so went elsewhere
Serves a valuable service offering a wide range of food and other items based on whatever they can offer at the time of your visit at competitive prices.
Getting to be a big fan of this store. The food is great and good value for money particularly their meats. Just love the middle isles.
I think in these troubled times they are still able to keep the shelves stocked and the prices affordable. Morisons are expensive now
This lidl is awesome. Produce generally fresh and good. Watch out for the eggs though, check them before you buy -- some are broken!
Well stocked and large store. Nice modern interior. Staff were polite although maybe lacked a bit of motivation to be appear happy.
Who doesn't love shopping here. Sad to say I couldn't find any beanies coffee but made up for it with their almond croissants.
If you wanna save money and buy more groceries, thats the place. I gurantee you will be happy after coming back from there
Great bargains if you look out for them still the same but got a reduced Xmas pudding and mince pies the store is the same
Pretty good, when the ques get a little too long they open other kiosks straight away. Will shop there again
On Saturday 1pm for some reasons only 2 tills were working. The two queues ended covering the whole shop!
First visit to this store Very clean & tidy Shelves well stocked Great fresh produce Friendly till staff
You get quality stuff here cheaper. It is a really nice place to go and a well structured environment.
Amazing Pastries. And very helpful and young friendly staff member who served me. Fantastic Thank you
Great Lidl, the security guard helps the place feel safe as can be a bit mad in there sometimes.
Love the around the world range they always alternate and have, i get to try lots of new things
Good food prices & quality but Jesus christ the Armley store needs cleaning! Absolutely filthy
Everything you need for the weekly shop and more. Great prices. Wonderful "middle aisle" deals
Love this place good value for money prices gone up a bit but not as much as main supermarkets
Thanks all team, who ever the manager is,he knows the job very well, always clean and organised
Another one of my favourites. Especially the freshly cook croissant and items from the bakery
Called in for a few bits of food. The store was very quiet.Good selection of fresh veg etc.
Choices choices, lovely place, nice food and the selection of different things. Spot on.
Good bargains at affordable prices. Keep going back for fizzy pop, that's decent.
Good store, can be busy. Sometimes a lot of stock is missing but in general is ok
Great shop, plenty of good quality food, reasonably priced. Lots of car parking.
Seemed to be more expensive than Aldi, but the in store bakery is big plus.
Nice place to get common vegetables and daily household use commodities.
Large shopping floor, good range of products both own brand and branded
Love this Lidl. Fresh bakery. Good staff everything a Lidl should be.
Really cheap vegetables and meat. Bakery products were delicious too.
Bakery section where its at, love the apple turnovers …
Lidl is not as before, the prices are not the best now.
Excellent choice of fresh produce and quick checkout!
OK a good selection of food, friendly helpful staff.
Always best for shopping great staff and offers.
Decent sized store car parks a good size as well
Great shop great goods love shopping there
Very nice staff were very nice and helpful
Good place some of the items not available
Newer shop, well stocked. Frendly staff.
