Sorry guys, but my experience dining-in was lacking to say the least. As we sat down a take away customer at the counter diplomatically stated she had been waiting over 45 mins and was confused by the hold up as there were no other diners and needed to get home. From there on it was like being at the theatre and we had front row seats! Act 1: Delay & Confusion. (Still waiting after an hour) Act 2: The Missing Order. (Order was given to wrong customer) Act 3: The Fall Out. (Customers arrived and sat to dine-in and were ignored, so then got up and left. The next 4 take-away customers had wrong orders) Act 4: Take Away Hell...ensued. (Enough Said) Our experience: We had no sauce with dumplings and had to ask (after a long delay due to customers orders being mixed up and staff loudly yelling at each other in another language). Very bland and tasteless dumplings, like they were frozen from a box. The pork buns were the only saving grace, even though they had forgotten them from our order and we had to wait another 40 mins. We had to continually swat at flies around the table. No idea where they came from but it was annoying and gross. I only wanted to try this place as it had a 4.9 rating on fb. Sadly, we were disappointed and won't be returning.
My wife has a very.... pedantic palate on chinese food. As we are from Hong Kong, we always prefer the authentic Canronese taste. And it is a bit hard to find a yum cha or chinese restaurant that my wife "approves". So when we move to UFTG, we are like oh my god, we are not going to have chinese takeaway forever. So I tried out their takeaway lunch. Not bad. And my wife went there with me another day for lunch. THANK GOODNESS. She approved it. She said the food tastes good. She had her favourite Singaporean noodles, and she said its good because other restaurant usually cook them too wet. I am always a beef hor fan guy with or without egg gravy. Good stuff. Cant comment on those dumpling or dim sum dishes, havent tried, and not quite interested. They have kids utensils, but no baby high chair when we were there. Nice and friendly staff. I still cant figure out whether I should speak English, Cantonese or Mandarin when I call to order. All you can drink self serve water. Accept credit card. Dont think there is a min. amount. Now my wife sits next to me and she asks me to stress this restaurant has clean tables and clean floor. And nice and polite staff. Which all the above are extremely rare in Chinese resturants.
This tiny little place tucked into the side of Maxi's in Ferntree Gully precinct is a treasure. The staff who run the place are friendly and bubbly, making the experience of being in a tiny shop front more than a pleasure. The tea collection, while not massive, has plenty on it and for a great price. The dumplings were hand made (and the impression we received was that they were made to order) fresh and delicious. While slightly on the expensive side (but not massively) for dumplings, it was well worth it to not have to travel closer into the city for fresh, hot and delicious dumplings. The place has the space for about 12 people at most, and as we went at 6:30pm on a Wednesday night, the place was full with people occasionally waiting 5 -10 minutes for a table to clear. Keep in mind that they keep the place fairly cool, possibly to compensate for the kitchen out back - so just make sure to take a jumper or jacket with you. There is plenty of parking due to it being in the shopping centre, or there is the pub carpark across the road if need be. We will be back in no time! Thanks to the crew there for such a delightful experience.
Fried dimmys and crispy noodle combo delivered for $5 delivery. Got dimmys fried and soaked in soy sauce. Son cant have soy sauce. Looked like sheeps brains. Crispy noodles were noodles burnt on a wok covered in oil and chucked on top of combo. Soggy on arrival. Dont offer delivery if you cant supply the food in a decent condition. $40 the only thing we ate was the vege dumplings. Rang to discuss a replacement or refund and was told cant be done, driver has gone, next order you will know better what to order, too bad you paid cash on delivery. Thank god eatnow has standards and credited cost which i added i was happy to reduce as we ate the dumplings. Note to management. Know the standards and consumer laws of the country in which you operate. Im not gonna pay for you to be a lazy, opportunist, who thrives on the untraceable dollar. Be careful the people you think you can walk over. Sometimes we have pull #consumerlaw #hospitality #yarrarangescoucil #food #supply #womo
Ordered food here from ubereats. Order processed at 5:15pm (05/09/23). ETA was 6pm. Order got pushed back to 6:20pm. Driver dropped off food at 6:18pm. He had advised me restaurant was empty hence unsure why it took 45 minutes to prepare a few dishes. With that said, chicken corn soup was a complimentary if you spent over $50, which I did. I was disgusted by the taste of plain congee and cornflour when I tried it. I also ordered the Korean spicy soup which was very much miso powder mixed with soy sauce. Worse dishes. Other dishes I ordered were standard but otherwise I'm glad I didn't set foot to eat in person otherwise I would had vomited over their staff. Very disappointed

This is the second time we've had it delivered. The first time I would have given it 3 stars mainly for the food being luke warm by the time it arrived. It didn't taste amazing, but put it down to not being hot enough. We gave them another chance and have just decided to stop eating it after a few mouthfuls. Chicken and prawn dumplings (fried) had thick and raw tasting dough and the filling was dry and tasteless. We ordered the char kway teow and it looked good in the container yet it was lacking any flavour and the rice noodles were thick, gluggy like they had been well over cooked or reheated. They made the dish inedible. Would not order from these guys again based on our experience.
If I could give it minus 9000, I would. Where to begin. It's xmas eve and we just wanted to order takeaway to complete a quite night in. What we recieved was $50 of flavourless, burnt, totally inedible food that so sadly had to be put to waste. Burnt noodles. The dumplings were supposed to be fried but were doughy and the mixed contents inside, unknown to what they should taste like. The two mains were just mortifying mush. In all honesty you must go elsewhere. This place is an insult to the chinese cuisine and to the owner you should choose a new profession. This may seem harsh and I almost never write a review but I question how this place is still open.
This place could be amazing! The owners are so nice. The food is.... actually nice. The veggie dumplings are quite sad to be honest but most of the menu is great. The biggest upset with this place is the MSG in everything. I would eat here twice a week but I rarely eat here at all anymore because of the massive amounts of msg in everything. Also side note. Don't ever ask for anything different than what the menu says it is. It will never change.
Really amazing food, the dumplings were really good, the ratio was good. Probably not the best customer service, one lady that worked there was sitting down eating pizza with another customer while we ate, but just a bit unprofessional, otherwise helpful staff. The timings of the meals wasn't great as half our meal came out half way through. A bit on the expensive side but you get what you pay for, happy to pay the price for good food.
We ordered via Menulog last night 14/10/22. Everything we ordered was under cooked. The wontons were an empty shell, the fried scallops were almost raw and the noodles were half cooked and tasteless. I’m sorry to place a bad review as we have ordered from here many times in the past and the food had always been perfect. Very reluctant in ordering again.

They have recently expanded their vegetarian/vegan section of the menu and it is awesome. The range of choice for veggos is really refreshing, i would recommend it. The prices are reasonable and the people working there are also quite polite and cheerful which makes the dining experience that much more lovely. All round a nice little place to gorge yourself on dumplings :)
Ordered via menu log - never again. Food was an hour late, no communication from the restaurant at all I had to call over 10 times whilst it rang out and I redialed. Finally got through. The food finally arrived but with items from my order missing. The worst part was the food I did receive was spilt all in the bag. Terrible. Won't be returning to this restaurant.
Sorry we've tried time and time again. Tonight's meal was delivered soggy and lacking in flavour. For the price it's just not a good choice. We tried calling last time to say the order was wrong but they didn't understand. Today the only good dish was half the normal size and nearly cold. Will order elsewhere next time and let this local previous gem fade away.
I order from Lily in the Valley almost every Tuesday night, the lovely man who delivers to me is always ahead of the estimated time, remembers me each and every week!, The dumplings are perfectly cooked and tasty. The Chicken and Corn soup is to die for and the range of Fried Rice’s are the best. Thank you for the wonderful dinners and amazing service <3
Our local dumpling place. Great for cost and the kids love it. Service is reliable and friendly. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. Go for pan-friend pork and veg or pan-friend beef and veg with some fried rice to go with it. I see this place mainly as a take-away option, but I have dined in as well and also had a positive experience.
I have ordered from Lilly for years and don’t mind them - not amazing but good form local. But also disgustingly expensive, regularly forget parts of the order and this week gave me and my husband debilitating food poisoning which made me end up in hospital

This shop is a hidden gem in Upper Ferntree Gully. Surprisingly their dumplings and dishes are more delicious than my expectation. Their Rainbow beef is heavenly yummy! Fried rice is cooked in perfection (enough wok hay). I will definitely go there again.

If i could give negative stars I would. Ordered online took nearly 2 hours for food to arrive everything was stone cold and tasted like eating a rubber chicken from Kmart. Absolutely digusted and would not recommend.

Since changing hands, this establishment has deteriorated markedly. The staff are ignorant, for example not knowing to provide wine glasses for wine, and serving the main course before the soup. When the front door opens, the entire restaurant is swept with a freezing draft. Pity, it used to be excellent.
Service was excellent welcomed us with warm and friendly. The food was good with all of meals we

Have tried their food at least half a dozen times and each time my whole family ended up sick. Dr said they use msg in their food. In today's day and age there is no need to use msg as it is now looked down upon by the restaurants/chef's and is quite dangerous to use.
Usually, ok I’m times of peak trade (Mother’s Day) they lose any ability to answer phones or respond to customer queries, despite being obverse an hour outside quoted delivery window. Has to collect ourselves, with no remediation provided. Ok food, but won’t be back…
We tried this place for the first time because our regular Chinese was closed for the holidays...and we've found our new favourite. More than just dumplings! Their beef rice noodles in egg gravy is one of the tastiest dishes I've had for ages. Definitely going back.
Situated a bit off the beaten track but definitely well worth a visit.

Best Chinese food in Melbourne especially if you’re looking for Vegetarian as they’ve got plenty of options. Had fried vegetarian dumplings and vegetarian soup. It was so far the best I’ve tried in Melbourne! Must visit if you’re coming to Dandenong!!

Was looking for quality dumplings, certainly didn't find them. Taste like they are reheated from frozen. The pastry tasted raw, like they were microwaved poorly. Rating 3 out of 10. As had way better for way less. Will keep searching.....
This restaurant is highly recommended, the taste is very good,

Mongolian was watery, lacked flavour. It could have been anything, or nothing - Hard to tell. Basically the opposite of what Mongolian should be. Definitely never going here again. Go up to Upwey - they can do chinese.

I really like this place. The food tastes fresh, the broth in the soups is flavoursome, and, being a coeliac, the fact that can cater for me and make some of their meals gluten free is much appreciated.

Our dinner delivery order came earlier than expected, everything was hot and delicious. My go to place to order from when I'm feeling "hangry". Thank you, keep up the sensational work!
Always happy with the food received from Lilly in the Valley. Only complaint is we had an order cancelled on the weekend after waiting an hour however that may have been Uber's fault.
Terrible. Ordered at 6pm for 15min estimated delivery. At 7.30 they told me food had arrived and was no longer their problem. No refund as yet. They won't even discuss it. Pathetic.
Ordered some pork and veg dumplings for delivery. Generally taste good but coating is a bit undercooked. Not that inwouodnt order from here again but wouldn't be my first choice
Peking duck was good and the dumplings were good but the special fried rice was unedible .. the sweet and sour sauce was horrible too.. come on guys get it right... !!
Had the sweet and sour pork with rice and the Xiao Long bao(pork dumplings). Sweet and sour pork was nice but pork dumplings broke and didn’t have soup on the inside
We order quite often from here. Food excellent and service A+ Highly Recommended them

Only got 2 prawns on the fried rice. Fried rice was a bit claggy. Batter on lemon chicken was overdone. Didn't get cutlery or napkins with my takeaway order.
Amazing food! My delivered meals tased better then some meals I've had fresh from other restaurants and were far better then most delivered foods out there.
Really friendly customer service, great portion sizes and delicious. My favorite dish is the Chinese broccoli with garlic and also the lemon chicken. Xoxo
Been to this place alot of time and loved it, But food over the last few weeks has be hit n miss.

Poor customer service. No one didn’t come out and I waited more than 10 minutes to order. I asked about the menu he said he don’t know about it.
Dumplings are best in area, always great. Fried rice and stir fries certainly not at the same standard. Nice people, decent delivery times.
Fantastic staff and service with food to compliment. More people need to visit this amazing venue. If I could rate it 6 Stars I would.
Delicious... veg fried rice was so tasty and fresh.... Lemon chicken was crispy and hot and lemony... five stars ⭐️ …
Love the food. Great variety of vegetarian dishes on the menu. We have eaten in and had takeaway. Highly recommended!!!!
Amazing restaurant! I absolutely loved the fried chihuahua! It went so well with the cat tongues and pigeon feet
Ordered takeaway. Always exceptional quality. Order arrived in half the expected delivery time. Very happy.
Menu says Gluten Free options. When we went in to ask the guy said he didn’t know. Fried rice maybe...
