Fresh off the bus, across from the GO station, one can find The Lionshead, a small pub for one who wishes to forgo the glitzy flash and noise of Hess or other nearby taverns. The Lionshead provides a strong skeleton of amenities, and it does so well-a large TV to catch the game of footy or something local, a discretionary playlist that you are free to suggest as to, and a strong tap selection and backbar. The bartender's are salt of the earth and know when to cut a person off without pissing them off, but most telling is that they offer the best black and tan in town, perfectly weighted and with the right mixture of colour and taste. Perfect to wet your whistle or drink the night away, and the kareoke, run by a stand-up fellow, is the perfect addition to any Saturday night.

I've never had such bad service before. Ordered a beer and a water. Beer came. Washed for water. Server serves another customer. I continue waiting. Sure fits and talks to friends. I say excuse me and she gives me attitude, "we ate having a moment here". Then when she does come over I tell her I'm still waiting for my water she says "water isn't really.... ya know". I would love to support the Hamilton comedy scene and come watch the Tuesday show at lions head but I will not spend money at a place that employs servers like that

I moved to Hamilton a few months ago and was looking for a an English style pub. One that served cold beer, crisps and had EPL on the TV's. I found this pub and now call it my local. This is not a fancy bar. If you are looking for cold beer, soccer and good conversations, this is the pub for you. For big matches they will open up early. They do have the cheapest beer I have found in Hamilton with a proper 20 Oz pint of Guinness or Tenants at 8 bucks or domestic at 7 bucks. Worth checking out.

Had a very rough experience at this place. Bought a round at last call and had some drunk person try to start a fight with me over small talk. Didn't even get to finish my drink before being force out of the pub. Very poor experience all and all. Would highly not recommend this place if you require an ounce of class in a drinking establishment.

Came to Hamilton for the Ti-cat Vs Bomber game from Winnipeg. Stopped by this bar after getting off the Go Bus, friendly staff and patrons, we came back after the game was over before catching the bus back to Mississauga. Will definitely stop by if I'm ever in Hamilton.

This is THE place for a thirsty traveler to find solace. Consistently entertaining come-as-you-are space, always folks to engage with, quality selection, proper pub atmosphere & endless charisma behind the bar. To top it off, occasional live music & forever good vibes makes this a no-miss spot in Hamilton.

Great staff and patrons, please ensure to tip generously. Unique and welcoming atmosphere. Great for watching games and listening to music, you may even request songs. Convenient for commuters, it's right by the Go station and in the heart of downtown Hamilton, Ontario. Enjoy!

It's exactly what you expect from a little hole in the wall Pub. The staff is always incredibly friendly, great beers and a cooler atmosphere. And if you want to watch a sporting event, this is a great place to do it. Love this place. :-)

Went in to meet a few friends. Absolutely loved it. I can't believe I have lived walking distance and have never popped in. Great music, dim light and cool stone walls. Definitely worth checking out.

Friendly locals, great staff, and drink prices can't be beat. Don't expect anything more than what it is, It's a good spot to grab a pint or a drink in a very relaxed atmosphere.

Love this bar, always open until 2am which is rare in this city. The bearded bartender was cute and willing to take song requests, my friends and I had a great night!

  • Kirk Lonergan

Neighbourhood pub. Covid bylaws only allow 10 customers, but the 10 that were there were awesome people and everyone seems to know everyone and make you feel welcome.

  • Sandra Powell

Found this hidden gem on a rainy Tuesday. Service was great and bottles were cold. Seen they had a dart board, not sure if it’s functional I’ll be back to inquire.

  • Ryan Sleggs

No food, expired chips offered along with local food recommendations. Good beer, clean lines, and responsible service. Eat first and enjoy your evening …

Best dive bar in Hamilton. Doesn't hurt when you bump into a member of Teenage Head while you're visiting. No BS service, and drink or get out.

  • Alvin Zabella

If you want to experience a lil of the UK, this is the place. Good for a couple buddies, not a large group. Great beer on tap.

Good tiny little pub. Great beer selection. Not usually packed. Regulars are who you'll find here. Check it out.

  • Simon J

Great atmosphere but due to it's natural structure there is a medium odour of mold lingering in the pub. Cheers
