The worst and most stressful conveyancing experience imaginable. Would never, ever use Lockett McCullough again. Due to this firm not submitting our forms to the bank, we missed our settlement date. Very lucky for us, we had understanding buyers. We were told again and again that the firm 'didn't usually submit those forms for you', despite this being item two on their to do list provided to us (to complete, sign and return the forms, also provided by the firm). Not once did we receive an apology for this, or even acknowledgement that they'd made such a huge error. We had days of extreme stress in not knowing when our settlement would actually happen. As first time home sellers, we believed we were paying Lockett McCullough as conveyancers to guide us through this process. What we paid for was to be repeatedly blamed for this firm's incompetence. Honestly, with so many conveyancers out there, absolutely any one of them would be better than Lockett McCullough. RESPONSE TO LOCKETT MCCULLOCH'S REPLY BELOW: As Lockett McCullough are fully aware, our settlement date was changed after mutually agreeing to do so with our buyers (yet another point they failed to actually action for us) and settlement WAS IN FACT THE DAY AFTER the agreed to settlement date because of Lockett McCullough neglecting to actually do what they were supposed to (see above). Funny thing them saying to get in contact when they've still not responded to two emails sent weeks ago - what a joke! My review above still stands, is completely accurate, and I don't appreciate this business trying to convince people looking for honest reviews that I'm not being truthful.

If I could give a zero star I would. Very unprofessional firm using dirty bait and switch marketing tactics. Provide a quote for conveyancing then add $200 worth of unjustifiable fees to a very basic conveyance of a residential property. When I raised the query I was provided with a justification for the additional charge which was proven to have not been carried out by the paralegal and so a different justification was given for the additional charge. Highly unprofessional outfit. You cant even call any of their offices at all. All three office numbers are diverted to the message bank of a lady name Kate. It simply says "Hi you have reached Kate.... " I am now highly doubtful the three offices claimed on their website even exist. Why would none of them have a working telephone? I was provided a copy of the Queensland law society register showing two of the staff are on the QLD law society register. How can you have 3 offices and only two lawyers? Instead of trying to resolve my complaints, I have now been threatened with defamation if I don't take this review down.

Inger Brecknell assisted me with the conveyancing for my first property purchase. I highly recommend her. When I made my initial enquiry, I received a response from Donna within about 5 mins. Thereafter I dealt solely with Inger. I enjoyed having the one contact person which you don't always get. It made updates and questions much easier because we were on the same page. Throughout the process Inger was very informative and quick to respond to any questions. She cared about me and the process and was genuinely motivated and excited to get to settlement on time. All communications with Inger were informative and professional. She gave honest and reliable information. She is very trustworthy. I highly recommend Inger.

Was not a knowledgeable by being a foreign that I should apply for a permission to buy a house. It is a 6500 AUD fee that I could have avoid by having the right orientation. Was contact by the ATO, about it. Called many times asking for help without any respose, just received Sunday a vague and disrespectful response because I had tried to have some help calling the office many times. ATO made clear what I should have done to avoid it, instead of the solicitor from Mc Cullough. Now probably will have to pay the permission 6500.

I’ve never been less impressed with a conveyancing solicitor. Very, very slow document turnaround and communication. Standard document packs were error ridden and our contact developed an attitude when we expressed our concern with timeliness and unsatisfactory communication. The only reason it’s not a one star is the settlement occurred on time. First and last time for us.
