I’ve been looking for a Volkswagen specialist to service my VW Passat instead of taking it to the expensive VW dealership and came across M $ R Auto’s workshop as I was driving by and decided to give them a try and happy that I did. At my last service at a VW dealership It was pointed out in the service report that my engine mounts need replacing. I out my car into M& R auto for an air conditioning service and I asked Gavin to give me a quote on replacing the engine mounts. Gavin phoned me after completing the air con service saying they could not find any problems or reasons to replace the engine mounts, but did find a major fault with the front suspension that needed urgent attention due to safety issues. He had a quote ready and even though they were very busy was able to fit me in to fix the suspension issues. He even sent photos of the worn bushes. Gavin is very knowledgeable with Volkswagens Gavin’s honesty and he’s teams professionalism has won me as a returning customer They will be servicing my VW from now on Will be recommending M & R Auto to my family and friends

I first engaged M&R autocare to service my VW Golf because of their experience with european cars. I've had such a positive experience that I've since taken my other non-european car there over the other mechanics I've had poor experiences with. I've found them to be knowledgeable and professional and appreciated them taking the time to explain the nature of issues to me and their suggested rectification, including cost estimates, prior to commencing any works. I also appreciated them responding to my message while they were shut over the New Years period, so that I could drop my car off to be fixed on the first day they were open.

Good, honest mechanic team. I have what is now a vintage Toyota Sports car which needs the extra attention only skilled and knowledgeable mechanics can provide. I know I can trust the team to handle the car with care, and to identify and carry out any work needing to be completed to keep the car safe and in excellent running order. Easy to recommend the team to anyone who is looking for a mechanic they can trust. I'm lucky they are local, but would travel to keep my vehicles serviced by them. Thanks blokes, top job.

I found this local business by chance in Kempster St Sandgate and am glad I did. Incredibly friendly, straightforward, professional team. From the outset they were actively saving me money by steering me to less expensive high quality tyres and repairs. I’ve recommended friends who’ve had a similar experience. They’re not a big business which means you deal with the same folks each tim, so the ey know you and your car. I’m all for supporting local and M&R are my go to car service team. I had my 80 series land cruiser in for a much needed suspension upgrade. The team at M&R gave me a very accurate description of what the car would need and the rough cost involved. Once the work was completed the car drove fantastic! I was more than happy with the work and the style of suspension recommended to me. To top it all off the wheel alignment completed on the car after all the work was the best wheel alignment the car had ever had. Very happy with their work and would highly recommend

Gavin and the team are fantastic. They helped me very quickly when I picked up a screw in my tyre a few months ago. And today I took the old car in for a general service. They gave me an idea of timing, but were ahead of schedule despite being short staffed today. I got a call listing the higher and lower priority things that need work or will shortly and we went from there. Car is running beautifully and this was one of the best mechanic experiences I've had.

M & R diagnosed and fixed an engine electrics problem on my 'Mum's taxi' and didn’t charge like wounded bulls or treat me like an idiot. I also had new tyres put on, - they narrowed it down to 3 brands and took the time to explain cost/quality to me. I found them to be honest and trustworthy and they check with you first if they find any other nasties under the bonnet. Won’t trust anyone else with my car from now on. Would highly recommend.

I got my Volkswagen Polo Log Book service recently at M&R. It was half the cost of what I was quoted at the dealership & my car is driving better than ever. They did everything included in the log book service + the little extras like inflating my nearly flat spare tyre etc. The owner works in the business & is very thorough, explaining everything to me when i picked up my car. Great price & service, I highly recommend!

Could not recommend more highly, Michael and team are so knowledgeable, honest and communicative. It is actually noticable in how the car runs and handles better after its service. Having moved further away, we took the car to multiple places to try find a good mechanic nearby but were not as satisfied. M&R took over maintenance of my VW Amarok that had a pile of check engine lights and faults. After having the car a couple of times, they diligently identified and repaired the issues. What a great place to have you car serviced, honest, really work hard to find the issues and fix. Always friendly. Always busy and always make time. Like the otherday when my indicator had blown, and stopped in to book it in, instead, it was fixed on the spot right there and then, and I was on my way.

Excellent service. Took my 1970 VF Valiant in. Described the symptoms of the problem I was having. Rather than just fixing that "problem" they actually diagnosed the root problem and came up with a solution. Saved time and money. Ed the mechanic knows his stuff. Recommended.
