Location is really good and serves well the Macquarie University students and the Macquarie Centre. The worst thing about this metro station are it’s escalators. The escalators at this particular metro station break down on average once every 1-2 months and it takes them on average 1-2 weeks to get the repairs done (yes an average of 10-15 days to get the repairs done) which is literally a joke and very painful. After the repairs are done the escalators would service for another 1, 1.5 or a maximum of 2 months until it breaks down again. This 1-2 weeks repair is not a one off incident and its an average time and to make things worse they don’t have stairs at this particular station and have just 2 lifts (that too one on each end of the station) to service the entire metro station. I do use public transport quite a bit and I do come across broken escalators on other stations as well but everywhere else I have seen the escalators getting fixed in a matter of hours on the day it breaks down (not weeks). NOTE: The attached photos have been taken on different days within a month
The Macquarie University Station is a metro station in north Sydney located right in front of the Macquarie University. It's easily accessible due to its close proximity to several interest points, to and from places such as the University, the nearby neighbourhood and some local amenities. The Station is underground, with trains arriving and departing here via the Northwest Metro line punctually and regularly, and it's quite spacious with clear directories marked around it. It's also rather clean (probably among the cleanest in the train lines of the city) and its facilities are well maintained too, with staffs stationed here being kind and helpful to assist. Often times, there's youthful vibes around it and it can be quite packed during peak hours, but in overall, the Station is still quite a convenient and comfortable one to travel through and stay in your commutes around the area.
This is the worst possible thing ever constructed. The carriages are way too narrow, and seats are way too few. I took the metro from Epping to Macquarie uni today. There weren’t a lot of people, but the carriages were terribly crowded. The same number of passengers could be easily fitted into regular train carriages, and everyone would be able to find a seat. Instead, in these ‘new’ carriages, so many passengers couldn’t find seats and had to crowd the aisle. The carriages were also so noisy. The tunnels are suffocatingly deeply underground. I really hope the carriages can be upgraded in the future, or at least don’t let people talk and use phones in those already suffocating carriages!
Extraordinary spot as it permits me to venture out from home prior. On the pinnacle, opportunity trains come at regular intervals however in any case at regular intervals. Since the time the metro has come, it has been colossal assistance. At Transport for NSW, we deal with the multi-billion-dollar spending plan for rail, transport, ship, street, sea and taxi benefits, and related vehicle framework in NSW. Our essential duties incorporate coordination, strategy and arranging, transport administrations, and system foundation.
Services aren't frequent enough. Non peak customers need metro services too. Public services shouldn't be based on profit making. Focus more on better services. The design is ridiculous the escalators are so long. How is this a "turn up and go" service when the frequency is 10 minutes and if you miss your train this means you miss your transfer train and you wait another 15min for your train to central at Epping. Ridiculous. Trains services in chatswood is around 3-8 min per city train.
The station is so clean and has been maintained in such a manner that you would want to visit it over and over again!! Kudos to the maintenance team over there. Station master Martha is very kind and informative. She helped me to get the tickets , told me what I should do . Pointed me in the direction I needed to be.Thank you for making mine and my families experience a little less stressful.
This station is OK but it doesn't have any safety rails to prevent falling onto the track, though trains only come 30mins, the station has a good design but lacks exits to Macquarie centre shopping mall, Farr underground with 2 exits on each side of the road, good for interchanging for buses
Very busy metro station but always clean and tidy. Take door 16 to get escalator door and door 13 for elevator. Spacious toilets for parents with prams. There is vending machine with good options and always available. Very near to Macquarie centre shopping and bus stop!!
One of the best railway stations in all of Sydney, even though it is now a metro. Fast, convenient, easy access to the University and Shopping Centre and other nearby commercial businesses. Also provides bus connection to Eastwood, Ryde and many more.
Really love this station, people here are all like students, the environment here is also good, and we also got the big and new shopping center here, it's nice for family and couples to come here on weekends, also you can how movie here.
Be aware! Camera is not allowed in this station (the stuff told me that even I told her I am a tourist and for personal using only) BTW I did check on Sydney train website and it states “there is no ban on filming and photography”
Every train stopes at Macquarie University station.the station is underground and the station has 2 platform and the service of the station is very good. The station is very neat and clean.
Great place as it allows me to leave home earlier. On peak time trains come every 5 minutes but otherwise every 10 minutes. Ever since the metro has come it has been a huge help.
This is the worst station I have ever been to. They do not have stairs, just escalators or elevators and they always break down. Average time for them to get fixed is 2 months.
A large, clean, spacious station that recently underwent a refurbishment. It's in close proximity to a large shopping centre and, like the name suggests, the university.
Thank you sooooooo much for your staff pick up my wallet on the ground.I almost lost it....!Thank you sooooooo much. You are the best staff and company!
Converted from heavy rail station to a metro station. It really needs a deep clean and it does show its age, especially the ceramic tiles.
Clean and new, but as others have said the three new stations on this line look identical so you can't quickly see where you're at.
This modern well planned station is very deep under ground and an impressive looking structure - making commuting interesting
Love the campus and about time we had a campus railway station! Wish it was right in the middle of the campus though...
Regular underground train station, plenty of toilets and cleaner than most. Some staff available but not at all times
New station - light, clean, modern. Feels very very spacious. I like the design when I look out at the escalators.
Clean, well designed and built station with frequent trains. Very convenient for the University students.
Restrooms are reasonably clean but always smell bad. Staff is helpful and there is enough seating.
Great station with good service and excellent connections to the city and the Hills district
Down, down, down to the bat cave. Use Macquarie Shopping Centre for a few hours of parking.
Convenient location. Metro trains don't run frequently. One train every 10 to 12 minutes.
Looks exactly like Mac Park & Ryde. The stations should be a little different
Cool modern underground station. Takes forever to get here from other lines.
A modern train station far under ground Next to mq uni and Mac centre
Good train station but could do with some safety upgrades...
Great station Ideal for access to MQ uni or Shopping centre
Multi purpose train station as safe road crossing underpass
A bit confusing at times to navigate but otherwise good
Has an awesome campus, not so awesome education though.
Offers super connectivity and great access to Mall...
Clean and train come on schedule, can get very busy
Biggest escalators in the world, amazing station
