I've been to Magnifique three times in the last few months. The first two times I did a no-chip mani and pedi that turned out really well and lasted a full three weeks. My only complaint would be that they set the heat lamp on the pedicure chair and I had to catch it three times from slipping into the water and possibly electrocuting me. I tried to be understanding about it though because they had limited room and were trying to get the pedi done as quickly as possible. My last appointment there, however, was really bad. I set up an appointment for a no-chip manicure and when I arrived I still had some of the gel polish on my nails from my last visit. Rather than break out the tin foil and nail polish remover like I expected the salon worker started literally peeling the nail polish off of my nails. When she pulled the polish off my first nail the entire top layer came off with it and really damaged my nail. Seemingly unfazed she went to do the same thing to the next nail and I immediately pulled my hand back and insisted that she remove it properly. She grudgingly got the supplies and wrapped my nails, but only waited half the time for the remover to work so that it wasn't fully dissolved. When she took the wrappings off she went back to scraping my nails with absolutely no regard as to how much she was damaging them (surprising, considering how much flack salons typically give you for not removing gel carefully). To make matters worse she started applying the top coat after only 2 coats of polish, instead of the usual 3. I was worried that the mani wouldn't last as long and unfortunately I was right - the mani lasted barely a week, whereas my previous ones lasted 3 weeks. Considering that my first two experiences were pleasant I wouldn't immediately discount this salon. But my last experience was bad enough to make me seriously consider switching salons.

This is a RASICT nail salon. Nail techs Brian and Jenesis treat paying black customers poorly. I came to this nail salon at the suggestion of a friend who’s been coming to this place for years. Each time I come, the rules change but only for me. I ignored it, thinking I might be paranoid but nope! It’s for sure a different treatment. 1st it started out as appt only, then it switched to they don’t take appointments. But every WHITE customer that came in after me, mentioned they had made an appointment. I’ve been attempting to make an appt since last week and when they told me I could come in, Brian went to the back and told the other techs to tell me that he wasn’t available, then 20 minutes later I rode past to see him doing another white woman’s nails. I always tip and I’m always on time when I’ve made appointments in the past. Brian is rude, has poor customer service and gets agitated when I take too long picking out a color. I even asked him, the last time he did ny nails on my birthday was something wrong bc I felt an aggressive tension from him. The other nail tech gensis has the worst customer service I’ve ever seen (I could be misspelling her name). Today was my last day patronizing this biz bc it’s clear the color of my skin is the issue. I watched today they turned around 2 other black women. One which claimed to have an appt. I have met the owner a couple of times and I do not think he would approve of the horrible and blatant racist practices at his business. I will be taking this complaint all the way. The better business bureau is next. Then all social media outlets will follow!

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. THE FIRST TIME MY MOM AND IBWENT FANNIE AND JANICE WERE SO RUDE BUT WE GAVE THE PLACE A CHANCE AND TIPPED. GOT DIPPED NAILS AND PEDICURES. EVERYTHING IS RUSHED WITH NO TYPE OF GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. CAME BACK 2ND TIME AND FANNIE DIS MY NAILS. AFTER THE BACK AND FORTH SHE FINALLY DID MY NAILS WHICH WERE GOOD. THE 3RD TIME WHICH WAS FRIDAY WAS TRULY A DISASTER. I KNOW WHY KEEP GOING BACK BUT THEY HAVE MANY COLORS MOST SHOPS DON'T HAVE. GOT OUR NORMAL PEDICURE WHICH WAS RUSHED AND HALF DONE, MY MOM GOT DIPPED AND I GOT NO CHIP BASED ON JANICE RECOMMENDATIONS. BIGGEST MISTAKE. I WANTED THE COLOR ON MY FEET TO MATCH MY HANDS AND SHE ASSURED ME THAT IT WOULD. I TOLD HER I LIKE DIP BECAUSE IT LASTS LONGER BUT JANICE SAID NO CHIP IS BETTER AND THE COLOR WOULD MATCH. LOW AND BEHOLD 2 DIFFERENT COLORS AND SHE DIDN'T CARE AND WAS NON APOLOGETIC, INSTEAD SHE TELL ME OH WELL THAT'S WHAT THE MANUFACTURE TOLD IS THE COLORS WOULD MATCH. SHE PROCEEDED TO GET UP WITH A NASTY ATTITUDE LEAVING ME WITH NAILS THAT WASN'T ACCEPTABLE AND WANTED PAYMENT. NOW IT'S DAY 2 AND NAILS ALREADY CHIPPED WITH NO CHIPPED POLISH. BEWARE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS PLACE. THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!

A couple weeks ago, I called to schedule a pedicure at this establishment. When I arrived it wasn't the most pleasant welcome, but I was asked my name etc. A couple minutes later, the gentleman told the lady that she would be giving me a pedicure and the most disgusting look came upon her face. It looked like she did not want to give me a pedicure at all but I brushed it off. During the pedicure (which was by far the worst pedicure I have received in my life), the lady was so rude, did not even introduce herself or say hi to me, pushed my feet down multiple times during the pedicure, was not gentle at all, and her eyebrows were raised as if my feet stunk. I was observing the other customer's getting pedicures done and I feel as if they act this way towards their customers who are Black. Again, no one else was getting their feet pushed down repeatedly.

This is my FAVORITE nail salon in the area. The staff is super kind and welcoming. You can tell they want you to leave satisfied and take their time to give you the best looking nails! Janice is fantastic. She is always open to fun or challenging ideas/designs. I highly recommend this salon they do an impressive job and really take care of their clients!!! UPDATE: I love this nail salon so much- I had to expand on my previous review. Janice is easily the best nail tech I’ve ever had. She recently tested a new nail technique (heart nail photos) and I’m going on week three with perfect nails. (First photos are day of, third photo is growth after two weeks) You MUST give this spot a try. Their attention to detail and customer care is top notch.

I have been coming here for I think 2 years but sadly won’t be going anymore. Recently the staff has been unwelcoming and I do not feel relaxed here. Their prices have also been fluctuating a lot and I understand that they might change due to inflation but I was starting to get charged for things I didn’t have to pay for before and even those charges were inconsistent based on who the technician was. They also have a minimum for using credit card which is not listed anywhere, plus starting April 2023 they are charging a fee for paying with credit card. I really liked their selection of colors but the fact that I never know how much I’m going to get charged (even if it’s the same services as before) is enough for me to avoid this place.

I will NEVER go back again! Not only are the prices too high for the services you receive, some of the Nail Techs are lazy and rude!! I have been coming for almost a year now and the last few months been terrible! Now I’m on my 2nd nail tech there named Cindy who refused to NOT clean my cuticle good. I’m always leaving with swollen figures, and beat up cuticles.. Once I brought it to her very nicely she gave me attitude and I believe purposely started to give me a banged up rush services! I also mention my experience to the owner as I was paying and he just looked at me and took my money and said by! I stated to the owner very calmly, I want be back you guys are rude, he (the owner) said okay! Very unprofessional!

They were able to get me an appt the day before but it was downhill from there. As my first time there, no one showed me where the colors were then were frustrated with me for asking. I was told that a no chip manicure would be $43 so I brought enough cash for that and a tip. It somehow came out to be $56 with no explanation and went I went to get cash from the ATM, the machine was broken. I got chrome and specifically asked if it would cost more and the technician said no. And to top it all off, less than a week later, my no chip is chipping!! Very disappointed, will not be returning

This is the only nail salon that I frequent. The no chip manicures do not chip and last me anwhere from 2-4 weeks. They also do dip and they last just as long. The salon keeps up with trends and will also do nail designs using stones, colors and other media. check out their instagram account! I believe they also offer eyebrow services. I've been to many salons and this place has the best service I have experienced. This salon is not located in my neighborhood but it's worth the trip. Highly recommend Magnifique Nail Salon. Salon is cautious and is very compliant with C19 requirements.

I was told to wait five minutes when I first walked in the nail shop, and end up waiting about 15, it was happy hr and Brian offered me some campaign, a third of a 6oz cup, and last but not least, as I waited, I watched brian finish up with the Caucasian customer before myself, (african american) and he gave her a massage at the end of her nail job, now don't get me wrong that was probably part of her services but I would have taken one if those after dishing out $35.00.

Ugh have been coming here for a year and think I'm calling it quits. Asked for a light blue on both hands (dip) and feet (regular polish). Perfect color on my toes, then when the tech tried to put a purple on my hands, I asked for light yellow. That one's on me because while I meant pastel yellow, I got mustard. :( Would totally be taking the blame if I didn't also leave with my hands bleeding from getting cut. Wouldn't recommend.

There is a guy here who does the BEST dip manicures. I am so horrible with names and keep forgetting to ask him for his, but I’m always glad when he does my nails. They last for 4 weeks with no lifting or chipping until they’re so grown out I have to come back in. I tried a few places in Gold Coast and River North before coming here, and while they were all decent, this place has been the best.

I went to Magnifique nail salon with a bridal party group and they were very accomodating. They got us in and out very quickly and my no chip manicure lasted for over a week with no problems! They were very attentive and detailed - would recommend for groups. The owner can be a bit pushy and they weren't able to do the kind of nails the bride wanted, otherwise they would have gotten 5 stars

Mr Movado did a great job cleaning & taming my unruly cuticles with a touch of ingrown. DIVEY, not an issue. Excellent $33 Tuesday Mani & Pedi Special. I will be coming back for more. Only a professional would use a white base to make the neon color pop! May be 3 coats, but nails are HARD due to quick dry top coat (very impt).

I loved how my nails turned out. I believe it was Janice who after giving her an idea found them exact color I was looking for and already had an idea for a color for next time I go!! So glad I found this place Update: Went back and Janice again did an INCREDIBLE job on my nails. I’m legit obsessed with this look.

I highly recommend this salon. I’ve been coming here for the last six months and the entire staff is professional, polite and takes pride in keeping everyone safe during this pandemic. The lady did not understand English and ended up pulling my toe nail off because she rubbed too hard, after I told her about it!!! All she said was, "ok ok, I do later." Then they sent me to another nail salon after she pulled it and said, "oh I don't want to do your nails." WOW. Zero stars if possible!!!!!!!

I went here for the first time, and I will definitely be coming back! May did such a wonderful job on my nails. She paid so much attention to detail and gave me exactly what I asked for, but better! This set is easily the best nails I’ve ever had done. The salon is very clean and welcoming. 5 stars!!!!

This is a Great place..very wonderful women who work here. The owners are Also lovely. Been going here for 11 years and Never had anything but the BEST experience....all are very hard workers. .. As far as their English goes, I wonder how many of You speak 2 Languages!!!!!!!! M rio

I’ve been seeing Janice, Brian and Lynn for several years now. My nails are growing long on their own after never being able to grow them out. Everyone is friendly and they always have great ideas for creative manicures. Their gel manicures are beautiful and last several weeks!

I’ve been going to Magnifique since I moved to the neighborhood & each time I’ve had excellent and timely service. Not only do they take pride in cleanliness, they are always professional and relaxing. I’m always overly satisfied going there for any service. Highly recommend!!

i was on vacation and seen that the sign said "ladies and gentlemen" so when i was walking back towards the redline i decided to stop in and try a manicure, and decided going with a dark grey polish. really happy with the results if i was local i would return again for sure.

I have gotten two dip manicures here and it’s by far my favorite manicure around! My nails are always perfect and done in a reasonable amount of time. They are always very accommodating to appointment scheduling. Love it!! Planning to make this my routine nail spot!

I hate posting 1 star reviews but I had a very disappointing experience. I got my nails done here Saturday afternoon. It it Monday morning and every single one of my nails is lifting and 2 have fallen off. All I want is my money back. I spent 70$ plus a tip.

The manager was really rude to me. Given a nail salon is a service business, you expect good customer service. Well the manager did my nails and she was rough and tough. No pleasantries, no friendliness, and actually quite rude. Very disappointing.

I never leave here disappointed! Had Janice yesterday and asked if they did foil designs and she managed to make my nails look AMAZING. I’ve been to a few nail salons around the area but none of them exceed my expectations the way Magnifique does.

I've been coming here for a few years every so often (regular and no chip manicures and pedicures) and it's always been a great experience, the technicians are all great, and they all do a really nice French tip.

Not flashy but they have a good assortment of colors and magazines. Plenty of chairs for pedicures and i've never had to wait. They do a great job and are fast and efficient. Great price too.
