Our large bungalow in Dunrobin was in dire need of new shingles. We contacted Magnum Roofing along with several other respected roofing firms in the Ottawa area for a detailed quote. Steve got right back to us and did a detailed estimate based upon actual measurements up on the roof (as opposed to others who use Google satellite views to do their estimates). Magnum was nowhere near the most expensive quote nor were they the cheapest either (but not by much). Steve was happy to answer all my questions about shingles, pricing, options, availability, etc. We elected to use the GAF Roofing system choosing the Timberline HD (Pewter Grey) shingles. One of the subtle deciding factors for us to use Magnum was their advertised dedication to assisting Christie Lake Kids Camp, a charity very close to our hearts. “Magnum Roofing supports Christie Lake Kids in the form of both financial donations and by providing roofing work to their facilities at no charge.” Nice to see a firm giving back to the community. A couple of the crew arrived the evening before the job was to start to place the dump trailer in position and begin to get setup. In this way the early 7:00am start would not involve noisy trucks, etc potentially bothering us or neighbors. The crew of 7 showed up at exactly 7:00am and got right to it. Our roof was completed in just over 1 ½ days (183 bundles so a large job by any measure) just as Steve had predicted. Not a single complaint was heard of the heat, the bugs, the heavy bundles of shingles or any other condition the crew faced. There was no excessive use of profanities, loud radios, etc so common in these industries. All of the crew parked on the street so as not to block our driveway for us. In short a very courteous bunch of talented guys. Upon completion the entire crew meticulously walked the perimeter scouring the ground for any nails, bits of shingle, plastic or other debris. Our evestroughs were all cleaned out, the shingle courses were dead straight, the vents were all installed correctly and drip edge was installed. The entire GAF system of waterproof membrane, deck protection, starter shingles, ridge caps, etc was used and installed per GAF specification. Would I recommend Magnum Roofing to a friend? You bet I would. They absolutely scored a 10 out of 10 in every aspect of the job (and I’m a pretty picky guy). Every one of the crew knew their role and operated as a coordinated, well oiled machine. We had onsite visits both days by lead job foreman Dave to ensure all was well and that expectations were being met. Admittedly having a roof shingled isn’t the most glamorous way to spend your hard earned money but it is certainly a great sense of security to know it’s been done right and should be trouble free for many years to come. What a difference! Call Magnum.

Avoid this roofer. It costs less than other roofers but the quality of the work is poor. After they re-roofed my house in 2015, my garage started to leak when it rained. I called Steven (the owner of the company), he just quickly did some chucking. But it leaked again during the next rain. I called Steven again, then he started to blame my eavestrough that water couldn't get through quickly. I didn't believe my eavestrough was the problem because it had been working well before the re-roof. But steven insisted he couldn't find anything wrong with the new roof. Then from time to time, the roof leaked when it rained. Finally, I called up another roofer for a second opinion, this roofer immediately pointed to me that the flashing was installed poorly with a lot of gaps and holes in the connection. He helped me to re-seal all the flashing and the leaking problem was resolved. But I had to pay $450 for the poor work that Magnum roofing left to me. I was very disappointed and frustrated with this roofing company. Avoid Magnum roofing if you don't want to have a leaking roof,no matter how cheap they could done the work for you.

Awesome experience with Magnum Roofing. I called a few roofing companies around town for an estimate. Steven, the owner of Magnum was the only one that went up on my roof and completed full roof inspection. He provided me with one price system using best materials with no extra charge for small repairs. The roofing crew showed up on time and did what they hired to do. There was no loud music or foul language. After service was amazing. Dave, the lead foreman did a final inspection and completed all minor touchup. Dave went the extra mile to ensure I was happy and fully satisfied. They didn't ask me for payment or deposit upfront. After the job is completed, they let me look around for a few days and once I was satisfied with the work, they came to collect payment. I'm glad I chose this roofer. This is the second time we’ve used Magnum Roofing. We had storm damage and he was of course our first choice again. He sent Dave over to do an emergency repair after the company that the insurance sent out messed up and didn’t even repair it properly. As a matter of fact Steve didn’t even charge me for the emergency repair. You can imagine how busy they were with roofs that were already booked more so after the storm. Yet he still sent over Dave to fix it so no more leaking would occur. He scheduled us in as an emergency roof replacement and showed up on time and had the most polite team of guys. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Steve in the future and have already given his name out to several people. His prices are excellent and his service and quality of work are outstanding. Hands down one of the easiest referrals to give would be Magnum Roofing. Unbeatable in my opinion!!

Magnum did our roof 5 years ago and we've been happy with it. I was up in the attic a couple weeks ago and noticed some daylight coming in through the flashing around one of the plumbing vents. I called Steven to inquire about a repair. He sent his foreman over right away to investigate, and within hours of making the call, the flashing around both plumbing vents had been replaced at no cost to us. (The damage to the one flange looked like it was probably caused by an animal attempting to get into the attic, not a problem with the original installation.) I really appreciated the fast response, and also that the 2nd flashing was replaced as a precaution. And I thought it was exceptional that the job was done without any charge, even though the roof is 5 years old. Very happy with the service overall, and would recommend Magnum to anyone looking to get their roof done.

Steve and his team replaced the roof on a home we purchased this year and it looks great. They also added 2 new vents for range-hood and bathroom exhaust fans. The guys worked hard all day and our neighbors actually commented that they were very respectful (low noise, careful not to let old shingles fall across the fence-line). The initial clean-up wasn't perfect, but Steve sends out one of his crew to inspect the jobs a few days later and he preemptively had someone do a second round of clean-up. Steve was easy to get in touch with and obviously cares about the work his team does; we've gathered a lot of quotes for recent renovations and Steve is the only person who hand-delivered a quote and provided samples of the materials so that we could make an informed decision.

Really amazing people and work. Showed up on time both days, at the dot. Did a great job cleaning up after the install. As my roof was starting to leak, Steven did his best to get us in as soon as possible and did delivery on his promise. Price wise, they were not the cheapest neither the most expensive but were certainly the most responsive ones. Asked for a quote and Steven gave me an idea of the cost but told me he would stop by to check the house and shortly after I had the final quote. Others, I had to chase them down for a quote and from some, I never got one (I contacted more than four different companies in Ottawa). Highly recommended. I would highly recommend Magnum Roofing to anyone in the Ottawa area. We were very pleased with Steve and the work of his crew. Everyone was very polite and professional and the job was done on time and according to the estimate. This is in contrast to some of the local roofing companies we've read about that have engaged in unethical business practices. Magnum Roofing is nothing like that. When we were selling our house a couple of years later, Steve even sent crew by to help answer buyer questions on eavestroughing, gutters, and roof vents. He is a man of his word, and follows-up. This is worth its weight in gold.

Our roof is done and it’s beautiful but the story is even better. I don’t always go with the lowest quote because sometimes you get what you pay for. However,Magnum Roofing came highly recommended and I was impressed by Steve, the owner. The guys were great, very respectful, worked hard, cleaned up after themselves and spoke highly of their boss. Today, they sent a guy to inspect the job. He found ONE shingle that is not straight and it will be replaced tomorrow. OMG! Talk about a great team. We had our Dunrobin roof replaced by Magnum a few weeks ago and I would highly recommend this company. Their crew worked hard and completed our roof in two days which was exceptional for the size of our roof. I am very happy with the quality of work and they did an excellent job cleaning up. The company owner, Steve, made sure we were happy with the work before he would accept payment...which removes a lot of risk for the homeowner. Thumbs up!

A tree fell on my house last year and damaged the roof. The insurance company recommended Magnum, and I am glad I took their advice. Magnum did a top-notch job on my roof. They took the time to explain the process to me (for example, the difference between architectural roofing shingles and what I had before). The workers were courteous, professional, and respectful. I have no hesitation recommending Magnum to anyone needing roofing services.

Best roofing company I have ever dealt with here in Ottawa! 5 stars ALL around! Steve is a wealth of knowledge in more then one way/trade, and always willing to help. They do magnificent roofs, but also hiring them gave me resources into other trades I would have never had without them. Solid people! They showed up at 7 am and were done at 3 pm that very same day. Even my neighbor accross the street commented to me about they're professionallism. Owner, Steve, was great to work with. Extremely hard working crew did our nine surface roof in less than two days. Crew was respectful and courteous. They cleaned my eaves! My eaves were ridiculously full of stuff. Don't think cleaning the eaves was part of the original quote. Meticulous clean up of our yard afterwards. Highly recommend this company!!!

I saw these guys roofing two houses in Arnprior and I asked them to put an additional vent on my house. These guys showed up on time and put the vent in the right spot where the heat builds and not just any random spot. They had all the right tools and they were very professional.
