I have been ordering from Mama's pizza for 2 years for at least twice a week. However due to my experience the other day with the owner I will not be going back there. This Saturday, I ordered a personal slice pepperoni pizza with beef topping, when I received it, it look like it had been made hours before hand and the beef topping was just scooped on top of the pizza. When I received the pizza I noticed the topping was just scooped on top and I asked the owner why did she charge me for a pepperoni and beef pizza if she really just only had pepperoni pizza. It was complete gross for her to slap beef topping on an old pizza and think that would be okay. So she proceeded to get loud with me and tell me that's the way they do it, and then say she doesnt really sell beef topping on slices although on her menu she clearly advertises it. At this point it's not about the pizza it's more about how she handled the situation. I was willing to even keep the pizza if she had a better response. I nicely asked for my money back and upon walking out the door Mama yelled, "We I'm not rich". Well neither am I. If I spend my hard earned money, I dont expect to be treated with disrespect from the owner who I have supported over the years if I have an issue with the product. Mama normally has a good product however she is gonna run her own business in the ground. My households spends alot of money buying Mamas whole pizza, lasagnas, and other items several times a week in store. Literally we spend about 300.00 a month there alone in store thru delivery and thru uber eats. After this experience the owner will not get another dime from me. In fact today I thought about ordering pizza from mamas today and I decided to make my own because I refuse to support a business that doesn't respect me. How stupid to lose a regular customer over 4.00 I bet when profits start getting lower she will change her attitude because she wont be getting another dime from My household.
I called to have a simple extra cheese pizza delivered to my hotel room. The woman who answered said they delivered to my location at the hotel, confirmed my address and took my order. The driver called to confirm that they were at my hotel lobby and for me to come down and pay for my pizza. The driver was not there. I waited, and waited. I tried calling the driver back, the call went straight to voice mail. I called the store, the line was busy. I kept trying the line was busy. When finally I got through I spoke to a woman who told me that she knows nothing about my order. I know they make pizza and deliver - how hard can this be? I am sent to a manager. The manager says she will call driver and then puts me on hold. There is no music for hold, or anything - just dead silence for when you are on hold. Because the manager had not even the simple manners to inform me that I was on hold I at first thought they hung up on me. After several mins someone NEW picks up the phone and asks for what I am waiting for. I explain I am waiting on a manager. This new person gives the phone to the manager. The manager says shes still calling the driver. The manager then HANGS UP on me. I call back. I try and ask what is going on, and the staff member I am talking to says in a rather rude manner that the manner is taking care of everything. I inform the person who answered my call that they manager hung up on me to which she dismisses me. I inform them that their customer service is terrible and to please cancel my order. 2 hour wait - no food, just rude customer service.
I’ve ordered from Momma’s Kitchen before and had never experienced anything like the disrespect and regards that I’ve received tonight because I called to let them know the condition that my food was in upon receiving it. I order a lasagna and wings my lasagna container had come open in the lasagna spelled out in the bag and it was greasy and stuff was just all over the place so I just wanted to let them know the lady immediately jump to the fence and just started going off on me and was like OK it was too full and hung up the phone on me I called back to see if I can speak with a manager the lady started going off on me again and then she stated that I must not have nothing else to do to be calling there complaining. At that time I said first of all I am spending my money and have the right to call and complain if my phone is it right but I will never spend anymore money with mom’s kitchen again the lady just kept on yelling in the phone and she hung up on me again. I don’t know if that was the manager or just an employee but in this industry and feel customers are right when they’re spending their money and the order is in the bag instead of in the container. I was not calling to ask for my money back or anything like that I just wanted to inform them of how my package was when I received it and in return I have received a lot of verbal abuse and disrespect.
It’s beginning to be very disrespectful that we allow other cultures to come into the community to serve us with very nasty and disrespectful attitudes. The people whom work in this advertisement are very disrespectful and their customer service needs help very badly all the while cooking food for the community or serving the community I do feel that this establishment should be under investigation, the woman who owns this establishment consider herself mama is very rude racist and disrespectful. Also, the guy that works at the counter is very rude and disrespectful. Ordering food at this establishment once in a few times have been OK on numerous occasions I’ve ordered food from this establishment and the food that I’ve ordered have not been placed in the bag for delivery and the order process over $50 , when I come in to complain or make a complaint about the issue, the store manager or store owner is very nasty and mean when her husband fights while customers are at the front counter while she acknowledge that he’s a drunk, she also uses foul language while handling and maintaining customers at the front of the store and when I told her that I was going to make a bigger complaint, she sure was happy enough to let me know that the Black people need her in the community and that her and her family will be going nowhere

It took two hours until I received my pizza. Whomever I spoke to on the phone said it would take 25 minutes. It's Halloween night and I figured I would order before we went trick or treating. After 30 minutes, my husband called to check on the status of the delivery. Supposedly the delivery guy was out but it was taking forever. After an hour and a half, called back and the delivery guy was "already at the gate." Mind you, we live on a military installation. Almost two hours later from the time I called the pizza in and the guy says he's at the gate for us to pickup. My husband had cancelled the order the second time he called. The driver didn't get the memo. Out of good faith, I left my kids with my husband to trick or treat and pick up the pizza. I arrive at the gate and the delivery guy rolls down his window and all I smell is smoke. The guy had been smoking weed which is why it had taken 2 hours to get my pizza (and explains the lack of communication between the driver and the staff at this pizza joint). I am so disappointed and frustrated. We love Mama's Pizza, but this incident...I'm beyond pissed. I missed a great time with my family because your driver wanted to bake on the job. And I received a cold pizza tainted with smoke.
A pizza take out joint that I stopped at for lunch while on a call to the DC Lottery HQ a couple blocks away in SE. Sitting area was kind of scary with cheap wood benches, unsettled ceiling tiles, and an AC unit that looked like it had mold in it. Menu was pretty big but buyer beware, should of known better to order a pulled pork sandwich at a pizza joint. I think they had to kill the pig based on how long it took for what looked to be 6oz of pork on pita and a thimble of coleslaw. I may of gave it 2 stars but I really had to use the bathroom since I drove from Fairfax County, VA & it was, you guessed it, "out of order". I'm pretty sure that bathroom is on a continuously non-functional mode. The manager at the counter (or possibly the owner) who smiled and told me the bad news looked like he came off a long drinking bender. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm kind of glad I didn't have the option. Unless your in real need for pizza at that point in time in your life I would find somewhere else to eat lunch.
If I could give this place negative 10 stars I would. I ordered from their website last night (trying to support local businesses directly during this pandemic) and my order never arrived. I called over 20 times trying to get the situation straightened out last night, only to be hung up on, lied to and stalled each phone call. I asked for a simple refund because my food had not arrived. First excuse: waiting for a driver Second excuse: we never got the order Third excuse: we have to wait for the order to deliver in order to give a refund so that we have a receipt (mind you, they emailed me a receipt?) Fourth excuse: call grubhub—- what?? I didn’t order from grub hub!! I ordered from your website. My last conversation ended with a manager telling me “look I wasn’t here last night so I don’t know how you’re going to get your refund” I’ll be calling my bank, thank you for your terrible customer service and degrading attitude all because I wanted my money back. You guys are truly terrible.
I’m only giving this place a star because no star isn’t an option. I ordered two pizzas at 6:30 pm and a whole two and half hours later the driver shows up with my cold pizzas. I called the main number numerous times trying to get information on the eta of my order and the owner got on the phone and yelled at me and hung up on me. I called back numerous times to figure out if I was even getting the pizza I had already paid for. Didn’t get anywhere with her. Clearly if a customer has been waiting 2 1/2 hours on an order, you don’t yell at them and hang up. I mean obviously. But, clearly that is not the case with Mama’s kitchen in Anacostia. I was holding out hope since they had so many good reviews, but after my experience I will never order from them again. I can understand that s*** happens, but that wasn’t my fault, and being yelled at and hung up on only escalated my hangry mood. I also have a child who needed to eat and was just as hangry as I was. So order at your own risk.
So I’ve passed this place plenty of time and never went in until a friend recommended this place. And by far I am so surprised about how great the food was. The pizza was amazing and the BBQ wings were even better. What I liked about the pizza of course was the fresh bread, the bread reminded me of something like Pita bread but fluffier but none the less homemade, the cheese on the pizza was better than that of papa John’s (which is usually my pizza go to) it’s was fresher and the taste was so good. The BBQ wings was some of the best I’ve had in a long time , it was marinated and I believe they make their own recipe for BBQ sauce cause it tasted like a mixture of the teriyaki sauce and BBQ. Would definitely recommend he wings, and I excited to try the calzones although they need more selection like “build you own”.
Currently this is not a safe place to eat and order food. I made a recent visit to order a slice of pizza for my son. I had to cancel my request for the order, because one of the owner's (The elderly Caucasian lady) refused to put a mask on, while preparing my food. This is the kind of blatant and dismissive behavior, that is being demonstrated by a lot of businesses in DC. I reminded her of the CURRENT and ACTIVE Covid 19 Mask mandate that was issued by our Mayor, and that it requires EVERYBODY to wear a mask indoors. You would think that she would be willing to comply, considering the fact that she is responsible for preparing and serving people food. Its unfortunate that I had to disclose this report, because they are good folks who do give back to the community. However, PUBLIC SAFETY comes first.
Tastes So Good, Make You Wanna Slap Yo Mama :) Mama's has become our favorite delivery restaurant. Almost everything we've gotten has been great. Pizza - some of the best I've had in DC Sandwiches - delicious, even down to the "in-house baked bread" they use. Ribs and pork (the sauce is AMAZING, if you get anything BBQ, ask for the Ribs sauce) Lasagna and Calzones (HUGE - 1 order is enough for 2 meals, seriously) Baked beans (Not Vegetarian: it has little chucks on meat which really ups the flavor). Wings (really good only if you ask for the Ribs BBQ sauce on them). cakes - home made and delicious. The only thing that hasn't been great are the spinach sandwich and calzone, they don't precook the spinach and it makes everything runny and wet. Also didn't like the mozzarella sticks.
The Best Pizza Slice in DC and Surrounding area!! The large Cheese is on special usually for $7.99 but the slice is HUGE and cut from a GIgantuan Monster of a pizza and is supper BIG (twice size of most slices) and tasty. So I get a slice and still get a large pie or two for home. Wings are BOMB!! Caesar Salad...Bomb! Add Chicken (Tender and Juicy) if you like a Chicken sandwich theirs is the Best and my wife is from Philly so I have learned it’s about the BREAD!! The lasagna is WAY too much food. I’ve been here over 100 times in 8 years and they love the community and young people. They give people a chance to work when nobody else will and as a workforce professional this is important to me. Mama’s key ingredient is said to be LOVE but that sauce is OH BOY!! Hidden Gem!!
Today I ordered online from the establishment website and it went through a company order360. I received a confirmation number and everything as well as my card was charged. A hour went pass and I decided to call this establishment about if my order was on its way and they said they never received an order or confirmation. My problem is I went to your website where it say place an order for delivery and now I have to call the 3rd party company to get my refund issued. I would advise calling in and ordering with this place because obviously the link on their company page doesn’t know how to receive online orders. I have ordered from here in the pass so it was disappointing tonight but lesson learned.

Not good. Walk and and get hit with a funky musk. The meatball sandwich was basically meatloaf on bread. My wife ordered a “chicken parmesan” and I should’ve suspected something was up when I seen on the menu it came with Mayo and mustard along with the marinara. We got it and it was not a breaded chicken cutlet, but just chopped chicken with a bit of marinara sauce, cheese and lettuce. Someone needs to tell mama that is NOT a chicken parmesan sandwich. Besides that, the chicken tasted old and undercooked. Disappointed. I hope their pizza is good but avoid the sandwiches. Won’t be going back.

They're kind, good customer service and seems clean. I've been here twice. I always try to give second chances but I'm learning that's not always a good idea. Both times the food caused a full colon cleanse. I don't what they're putting in the sauce and the food but it's an extremely wild experience. My friend is a native and swears by this place- absolutely loves it. Kids I've met love it. I don't think I'm physically capable of going through it again. I have never eaten at any establishment that tears up my insides like this and for days like at least 3 full days of agony. I will never ever eat here again, couldn't pay me to even consider it.
So apparently many people know about this place. I highly recommend the wings. Let me say it again for the people in the back I highly recommend the wings. Their Pizza is very good if you are tired of chain Pizza. That is to say Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John's etc etc. The staff is nice as long as you are nice. I did not have a long wait and I enjoyed my food. Now I did get an Italian sandwich which was okay I did not like it as much as wings or pizza. I will try something else to see how a different type of sandwiches and maybe something else on the menu but for typical taste pizza and wings I once again highly recommended
I once had and amazing review for this place my daughters are crazy about the pizza until I ordered food twice and it took them over 3 hrs to bring my food then when they got out side thought I was going still pay for it or want food after waiting 3 hrs for pizza as if I was Supposed to let my kids be hungry waiting on pizza when I live less then 20 mins away didn’t call or apologize about time or food I would have atleast been happy with Ah call to say running late but to pull up 3 hrs later calling my Phone is Crazyy as Hell ..

I've heard it said that Mama's Kitchen is the best pizza east of the river. In my opinion, it's tied with Pizza Day blocks away on Minnesota Ave SE. Mama's Kitchen is a small shop in historic Anacostia that serves pizza, lasagna, calzones, and chicken wings (DC has made the unnatural combo of pizza and chicken wings natural). Locals loves it because it's cheap and not bad. A large pizza cost just under $20 for 8 slices and it's filling. My buddy and I went in on a Monday at 6:30PM and waited about 25 minutes for our pizza to be ready. There are a few tables inside, but most people take theirs to go.
This pizza was SO good. We have tried a few different ones in the DC/Alexandria area but they’ve never met our New Yorker expectations. It was also very reasonably priced. We chose delivery & it was still warm when it arrived which we’ve noticed is not common for this high traffic area. Online ordering was super easy & convenient. The only criticism I have for it is that the slices weren’t cut all the way through so it was hard to pull apart but that’s hardly something I’d take a star away for. 10/10 recommend, looks like we found our new pizza place! Keep up the good work, Mama’s Kitchen!
I saw the good reviews yet was truly disappointed by the food. Mozzarella sticks couldn’t even pretend to be crispy. Breading was very doughy, unseasoned, no browning whatsoever. Chicken wings were overbaked, dry and completely flavorless (pic is the “garlic Parmesan” I ordered) They were also the size of hummingbird wings. Pizza was better, though undercooked. Sauce was super sweet and the toppings had never seen a lick of flame. SMH. Get it together Mama because I can see Nonna rolling over in her grave.

First mistake, I dropped an item from my bag, The female owner had a man from the back assist me. He grabbed a broom to get the item. I thanked him. I looked down and he left a huge coach roach there along with the dirt on the floor. He went back into the kitchen. Final draw. Yes, I know. It is located in the community and is always open. I ordered food over the phone, I walked to pick up the order the African American lady came from the back chewing food, did not wash hands answered a take out order over t he phone and constantly chewed and talked as she handled my food. Final draw.
What happened!?!? We've been ordering from here every other week for almost 2 years. The last three months the quality has gone down to the point of inedible, the sauce has changed and not in a good way, and the delivery time has been horrendous. Last night we ordered a pizza and and bread sticks, both arrived ice cold and late. Should have saved $40 and had a frozen pizza. Drivers are always friendly and apologetic but I think I've been burnt for the last time with Mama's.

The small little shop could be missed if you are not paying attention, but the food is amazing. I have tried Meetball, sandwiches, lasagna, Combo Calzone, All the pizza. My favorite was the plain cheese pizza, which is crazy, because I am normally a supreme kind of person. Worth the trip even if you don't need to be in the area.

When you finally get your food it’s cold. Took TWO and a half hours to get our order. Called the restaurant and I was put on hold for ten minutes then they hung up on me. Called back to see where my food was and they act bothered and like they have no idea what they’re doing. Deliver driver is lazy and rude. Disappointed I tipped with a card before I received the food because she deserved nothing . This is the third time this has happened, a shame because their food is really good. You just have to reheat it when you get it. Not worth it.
Friendly and delicious! They used to live in new Orleans, had a chain of pizzarias until Katrina wiped em out. I enjoyed the small talk while waiting for our order. We pre-ordered before walking over. We only waited maybe 15 min after our 10 min walk? I mean the food is made fresh and they were pretty busy. Omg you get so much food! ! We ate off the Italian sandwich, calzone (literally a pizza folded in half), & yummy coleslaw for 3 days lol. And their cheese cake so yummy! Way better than the domino's we were gonna have delivered!
The food at Mama's just isn't very good. Last time I was in there, I tried the pulled pork sandwich. The pork wasn't pulled, and it was flavored with a sweet sauce that was just shy of tasteless. The very oily foccacia "bun" on which the sandwich comes is about half the size it should be to accommodate the pork that was ladled on it; and it's so tough one can't bite through it. Extremely messy sandwich. Finally, the slaw that accompanies the sandwich is a mayonnaisey mess, again with little to no flavor beyond cloying sweetness.
The canceled our online order because they stopped selling one of the BBQ items months ago, despite listing online and on the chalkboard inside. We found out when we went inside to pickup our food Being still desperate for pizza we ordered again in person The pizza was as expected but I got a slide with a broken piece of white plastic inside. If they didn't cancel our order and didn't have plastic inside I would have given them 4 stars. They were nice and the pizza was ok, so I didn't think 1 star was appropriate.
I would always pass this pizza place while in Anacostia and see the flow of people coming and going. One day, while having my son with me, we decided to go in and give it a try. Good decision. The pizza is delish! Not all pizza is created equal. I love its authenticity. It can become rather pricey, and I was not very happy with delivery (mama took care of me *smile*) so now I will just do carry out and happily eat more pizza. Yum! P.S. I love the way Mama is with the community and how they respect her.
Like always, I stopped in for a quick bite because I was hungry and on the move and was intrigued. It took me a while to study the menu because I didn't know what I want but when I did, it was on. I ordered a medium meat lovers that came in a large (didn't know if it was miscommunication or if I mistakenly ordered a large) with wings and it was the bomb. Dough is freshly made and the wings are marinated. Everything was fresh. You can tell someone was cooking like a "mother." I will definitely go back.
My family and I absolutely love Mama's pizza! The sauce is flavorful, the pizza itself is on the thinner side but is not crispy (which is perfect), and it has a great soft and chewy crust. In addition, I most recently picked up a carryout pizza, balancing my 1-year-old child on my hip with my toddler in tow. Mama walked my pizza to my car on MLK so I could avoid the parental jiu jitsu it would take to get both kids and an extra-large pizza across a busy street. I was very touched--thank you!
I often get enough for like two days. Their chicken parm sandwich is real good the typically get a special calzone (sometimes there’s a bit too much h of something and I get heartburn lol from the sauce but not all the time) their pizza is basic but over all it’s a hometown small guy that deserves our money esp if you live in Southeast

Too bad I have to give a star. I got SICK after I ate 3 slices of their pepperoni and jalapeño pizza. I will NEVER eat here again. I also made that decision after a friend of mine told me they got sick too. This def ain't my mama's kitchen. Thanks to you I will start to cook more so I guess it's a blessing in disguise. I got pizza from them on Friday. Its Sunday and I still feel sick. The health board needs to investigate because its not a coincidence. I'm done

We wanted to try new pizza place near our house and a quick Google search yielded this place. We got two pizzas and breadsticks, which were both delicious. Decently priced for this area and the staff was friendly. We ordered online, so they initially said they couldn't find our order, but apparently there's 3 ordering options- online orders aren't considered carryout. All was well once that was clarified. Will definitely return!
Amazing food and excellent service UNTIL the African-American female with the big ear rings, nails, and visor came to "help" with a phone-in order. She wasn't just rude but downright nasty to my lady friend -- AND DIDN'T GIVE ME A RECEIPT! The food is so good that I can't say that I won't come again, but if she's there we may turn around. PS - EVERYTHING is good here.

Came here as a suggestion to a friend as an alternative to America's Best wing. They spoke highly of this place and their wings but I wasn't as impressed. parking is also an issue here and it doesn't seem like they have a lot of staff. Took me quite some time to get 10 or 12 wings I can't remember and overall I would probably take America's best old Bay over theirs. I didn't try their pizza so maybe that's really good.
I Truly appreciate this little gem. Food is not UHHMAAZINGGG everytimeee but it's def a quick hit for something quick n good. Certain item def don't hit the spot but when u find what u like from there *chefs kiss* My go to is the Italian sub delishh. I love this spot cuz it's just different from what's around. So many other carryouts etc but a pizza place? Nahh. Big Ole slices for 4 bucks cant beat it.
My job orders from here all of time time. The food is good the driver is great and the staff working inside are just not efficient! They ALWAYS get our orders wrong. Big or little every order we make always has a mistake. Today we got the wrong dressing for all 3 orders and last time they forgot the chicken for my salad. This is my last time ordering, I would rather starve than go thru this anymore
We are visiting in the area and by chance ordered from here. The food was so good! The wings were amazing. I had the chicken Caesar salad and the chicken was tender and flavorful. I would recommend them for anyone looking for awesome wings or the salad. My kids are picky pizza eaters and they LOVED the pizza! We were so happy with their food we ordered multiple times during our weeklong stay.
Idk if it was busy or what. But, I decided to stay loyal to my local folks and order what’s in SE so I called up the place at 3:10 and they said 20 minutes. I got down to the place by 3:27 and ya know it’s 3:50 and I’m currently in the corner of this small place waiting (Semi-patiently) confused, in the heat, with my mask on ? Overall pizzas okay. Nothing to rave about. Wings are good tho.
Even though I'm giving this a five star... This is not a five star review, I ordered a cheese pizza with wings from the Uber eats app. My order was delivered in 7 mins which was great. What I do not understand is why my pizza was dry dry and tasteless?..... I'm not happy with the lack of cheese or the warm tasteless flavor that it came with. I will take this as a isoalated incireni.
These guys have the best Parmesan garlic buffalo wings! They must roast the wings in the pizza oven, they’re so good. Their Italian sandwich is also super awesome even though they put may and mustard on it, it’s still really good because they roast the sandwich and use fresh pizza dough for the bread. I’ve also had the lasagna and it’s not half bad! Always fresh and hits the spot.
I ordered the lasagna. It was a big portion of sauce and cheese, barely any ground beef or lasagna noodles. Italian flavor was not there. Just regular sauce. I also ordered mozzarella sticks, not bad. And slice of cheesecake, tasted cheap and processed. I’ll stick to Charlie’s out Fort Washington if I want some real Italian. This was a last resort, but prob won’t order here again.
Was visiting Washington D.C. and heard it was a good place to try. Had it delivered and it took almost two hours for the pizza and drinks to arrive. Had called to ask if it was on its was and how much longer it was going to be and the person on the phone was rude and hung up on me. We didn't even get our correct drinks we ordered and the pizza was cold and nasty when we got it.
I ordered from here via the Slice app. I did not want Pizza bolis or some other subpar chain. Mama's delivered! Pizza was really good! Perfectly cooked and still piping hot when it arrived. The wings were great I got spicy buffalo. Delivery was on time! Will definitely be ordering from here again.

If y’all eat cheese, the spinach lasagna is good. But I eat meat, so I don’t know really.
Usually very good. But, tonight we ordered a pizza on the phone but arrived to discover they had managed to loose my order. They were rude and tried to blame it on me instead of finding my pizza. They really hit rock bottom this time, being busy is not an excuse for staff who fail to write down something as easy as a pizza order. I go somewhere else next time...
I used to always come here at around midnight when I was working for AMR in DC. Food is quick, cheap, and delicious; perfect for if you're hungry and need something in a jiffy. Great location being so close to Anacostia park as well. If you're a first responder working in the Anacostia area, I highly recommend this place. They'll make you feel right at home.
Had the special Calzone and it was absolutely fire. My brother is stationed nearby and eats here often and mama knows him and his order. It's a small operation, but you can tell it's family oriented and great tasting food! The only negative is the parking- there isn't a lot of space on the side street, so be mindful when picking up to go orders.
I’m confused how this place has so many good reviews. We just tried this place for the first time tonight, and it was pretty disappointing. The pizza was so chewy and dense. It just wasn’t great at all. The wings were good, that’s about it. I’m not sure if it’s because the prices are cheaper than other places? But please, fix your crust.
When on a vacation we like to order from non chain restaurants and pizza places. The online ordering was easy and it was delivered to our hotel hot and fresh and it tasted amazing!!!! Due to charges for delivery etc it ended being a little pricey for one pizza but it was definitely worth it. I'm glad we chose Mama's Pizza Kitchen!!!!!
Fantastic food. The kind of gem that you stumble upon and keep coming back to. Dishes so good it's hard to explore more because you want to get the great food that you've already had. But it's worth trying other dishes because they are all delicious. The owners are creating community around them with their food and conversation.
They never disappoint. Great food. Wonderful people serving the community.

Cute small pizza shop. The owner is an older woman, who’s very nice (also yay for women-owned businesses)! The pizza is amazing and so cheap! 3$ for a slice of pizza the size of your head!

Best pizza In Washington DC been coming here almost 4 years always good pizza wings lasagna calzone everything is so good . Open late and the food still stays fresh tastes fresh .?wings aren’t fried but still so perfect and good for health . Cake is always moist and wonderful . Don’t knock it because of the area .
The absolutely best tasting pepperoni and garlic pizza I have ever tasted! The pizza sauce and dough are delicious. The flavor was intense and the aroma was amazing. My vote goes to Mama’s Pizza Kitchen for the Pizza Hall of Fame. I hope Mama’s franchises soon! 5 Stars! …
Stopped here when we happened to bw in the area and hungry the other night and got an absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked brick-oven-style pizza. Wish we lived closer!! (Also wish they had the tables open for customers at this point but respect the choice to stay take-out only for COVID reasons.)
Excellent hole-in-the-wall pizza, wings, BBQ and more. Service is brisk and a bit short, but the food coming out of the tiny kitchen is excellent. Great chewy, crisp, thin crust, with a spicy, tangy sauce and just right amount of toppings and cheese. Right around the corner from some great art, too.
We love Mama's and visit frequently. Everything we've tried has been great. They have amazing lasagna, ribs, wings, and pizza. We typically order the carryout pizza special of large one topping for $7.99 because it's such a good deal, delicious, and we can support a small business in the community.
Omg if you some bomb pizza with thin crust and sweet pizza sauce go to Mamas.I ate this pizza and did not fill bloated like at other pizza spots. They also do not use too much cheese but just enough, it gives New York slices for sure.I heard the chicken was good as well but haven’t tried it myself
My husband and I visited today for the first time. We are so HAPPY that we did. The staff is awesome. MAMA'S pizza is DELICIOUS!! Our pizza was ready pretty quickly. It smell amazing. Whenever we are in town again we will DEFINITELY go back and try more items from their menu! Highly recommend
This place has many good reviews so I decided to give it a try. Never again, Hawaiian was pizza terrible, undercooked and for some reason they didn’t even cut it ?? Just terrible overall, don’t waste your money!

We've enjoyed their pizza, lasagna and a chicken sandwich. from Mama's Pizza, 3 times in the last 2 weeks. The pizza and lasagna sauces are wonderful. The pizza dough is wonderfully fresh. This restaurant is clean.Mama and her staff are friendly. We'll be back again soon!
I loved it! The pizza was the best! Mama's pizza sauce will have you reaching for one slice after another when you order a pizza from Mama's and plan on taking it home, don't say I didn't warn you when you end up eating the whole pie before you get home. Lol …
We love Mama's pizza! The selection is great, the food is delicious and the service is very friendly. Mama's is a lifesaver after a long day when cooking is the last thing on my mind. They also deliver, and the prices are very reasonable compared to other places in DC.
Mama's pizza is very delicious!!! I ordered from this fine establishment for the very 1st time and let me tell you I was not disappointed. The pizza was so amazing so amazing and the wings that I order was super awesome. I say mama's pizza has a brand new customer
Pizza was authentic and banana pudding was really good. This place seems to get mixed reviews but so far, their foods good at a good price.

Pineapple pizza is great!
5 for the food and 3 for the service. I was told if Mama was there service would've been excellent. Our pizza was delicious. Next night had wings and a meatball sandwich and a Greek salad delivered. Food was good but they brought the wrong drink and wrong salad.
I’ve been going here regularly for pizza for almost seven years (sorry, arteries) and, save for the random off day, have been consistently pleased with the quality and value of the food. Mama is the best!

I called up to order some pizza for my students . The girl was extremely RUDE!!! She kept talking to someone else while talking to me. She kept asking me what did I say, and if she listened she would've known. She was snappy and rude at the same damn time!

I was on the online menu because I’ve never ate at this restaurant before. The menu prices were different than restaurant prices. When I called not only was I put on hold for about 5 minutes but the when I tried to switch what I ordered
Im born and raised in New Jersey and this is some of the best pizza I have had in DC period. $3.50 for a slice of pepperoni which is bigger than a new york slice. I will be back! You have to plan for a 15 minute wait but its worth it!
Sorry but the pizza taste like if they went to aldi bpught frozen and served as there own, very soggy and greasy, had the peperoni and bbq chicken had to wipe all the grease from pepperoni used about 4 napkins. The bbq chicken was ok.
If you blink your eye you'll miss the store, but once you've tasted their food you will make a U turn. Very tasty and always hot. Customer service is an "A"

Big fan of mama's. Delicious food and consistent service. My family loves supporting our local ward 8 businesses and even when the wait time is a little long they are always friendly and do their best to give accurate wait times.
Deeelicious pizza, one slice NYstyle pizza is the size of an individual pizza anywhere else. Fresh toppings, too. Worth the wait, it will take a while after your order is in, and to get up to the counter to put in the order.
A staple in the neighborhood you must try. MaMa is a real person who has serviced the community for years and is always there to great you with a smile. My kids love coming to see her. Oh, and the food is amazing and fresh.
Great price on pizza - not so great price on wings - what you pay is what you get & it’s fairly priced & tastes fairly good. The wings were a bit pricey but they were great! I would definitely recommend for a quick bite
This place is within walking distance from my work, it's very convenient. Sometimes they get the orders wrong but it's always pretty good. The prices are really good too, especially for the huge amount of pizza you get.
One of the best authentic homemade real Italian restaurants in D.C.! So far everything I've ordered from this store, was either on point or exceeded my expectations! Absolutely, no complaints about this location!! …
Very good pizza. We got the "Combo" specialty pizza. The crust was thin and a good balance of doughy and crispy, a good amount of sauce, and lots of quality toppings. Definitely will visit again on the next trip to DC.
Hospitality and professionalism was shown from the time we entered the door period. The food was great the spinach lasagna was the bomb!!!

Omg I love the pizza. I went here on a humble and came out not being disappointed. I ordered two slices of cheese. Those sizes of pizza reminded me of NY slices back home. Made me feel at home and a taste of home.
I haven't even tried the food yet. The fact that I'm waiting 20 mins after my scheduled online time makes me never want to come here again. Then 5he lady gonna say waiting on your wings. I been waiting a hour tf
The sauce is amazing the dough is made fresh daily and Tisha pronounced Teesha is an amazing hostess and cashier. Try a sandwich on the fresh baked bread and the best part of it all is its amazingly affordable.
The pizza was delicious but the service sucked. I only ordered 2 slices and it felt like it took 30 minutes to get it. SLOW! Also for 2 slices and a soda was 10 bucks where they had a large pizza for $7.99
Pizza arrived cold and all the cheese was off the pizza called to get it right and was told it was nothing that could be done and I shouldn't be mad and enjoy it because I've ordered 2 large pizzas
This was my first time going to Mama's Pizza Kitchen. The customer service was excellent and the Pizza was great and reasonable for my hard earned money . …
The Pizza was great!! but the wings were not seasoned and tasted fresh overall i did enjoyed the pizza just not the wings. Wings looked delicious but when I tasted it, it was the opposite.
Very disappointed with the calzone. Cheese was not melted at all, very soggy. Asked for no sauce I got the sauce. Normally food is good here. Money down the drain $13 No this time.
One of the truest "Mom and Pop" shops of DC. Quality pizza. No frills, just quality comfort food.

Pizza is okay. Nothing special. Fries have a spiced kick to them. So if u dont like spicy don't get. Do not get the red velvet cake! The banana pudding is pretty good though.
