They food has great taste but there orders and custmers service isn't well. I order a steak n shrimp cheese steak sub while i was doing some construction on the street as I'm waiting for the order to be ready. To find out my was made the way he wanted it to be with no shrimp. I dont find this out until i get back to the truck to start my lunch. Nothing happen the way it should with my order. I juzt learned that if they dont want to charged u for it they dont have to plus they make what they want at your expance of time money with a smile. Im stuck with a cheese steak no shrimp

I've been eating here (SE) DC location since 1980 It started with the Sausage Subs for me. As of today I still eat here and will continue to do so. The is perfect. The onion rings are always crispy to last bite. Ohh and the Cheese Burger Subs bayyby.. (umm) When you arrive and your order isn't ready yet it's because they wait to drop the etc. for they can be HOT!! pickup area is a bit tiny but that's something yous can really look over. During this time with Covid they do ask that know more than 3 customers at a time in the establishment. Happy Eating!! Mask Up!!

I remembered Mario's for the deep dish thick crust pizza. This ISN'T the pizza I remember or loved. It's NOT the thick soft crust that I loved. It LOOKS like it was but doesn't look or taste fresh. Having said that I ATE EVERY PIECE. I don't or can't explain why I did. It wasn't THAT good despite eating all four (4) large pieces. My mouth says 4 1/2 stars but my mouth lies. Stick with the subs. Don't make your mouth into a liar. Also unless you want to wait in a six by six space with four or five other people for 15 min call in your order. It'll reduce your wait time.

Food was very expensive. Had (2) steak and cheese sandwiches. 1 of the steak n cheese sandwiches was a half and the other 1 was a whole sandwich. I paid $35.00 with no sides or drinks. Been eating here for over 30 year's. Not worth it anymore. The manager said they charge $2.00 per toppings. Pay close attention to your total and how much they charge you.

Their food is great for a hole in the wall but some of the staff must be burnt out because they are not friendly at all. One of the ladies continued her work while I stood in her face for about 5 minutes before informing me the grill was closed and the guy was just on it. They could have just said that was the last order. I can give other bad experiences as well but this one was my reason to just let them go. I'll miss the fries.

When i say Mario’s has the best steak and cheese in the dmv, I literally mean it. The first time i had the sandwich, i went back that same day and grabbed a second one for my hubby!!!! They guys at Marios Pizza are so sweet and great workers! I highly recommend Mario’s especially the steak and cheese and 1/2&1/2! I’m only sad because today is Sunday (only day they are closed) and I’m craving a juicy steak and cheese BUT i will be there tomorrow for lunch!!!!

I grew up in the surrounding neighborhood and when I was a child and Mammasaun owned it/ran it, they had two guys making fresh pizza dough as we watched from the open up side. Marios topping are the same, they use pre made crust now. Folks that have been patronizing this establishment for years know the difference in the crust. The pizza is still good. If you call in, your order will be ready. Just get there before they close or the doors will be locked.

This place has been a staple in my family since the 70s. MY uncle, brother, and cousin have worked here over the years... primarily in the 70s and 80s. Food is good and made to your specifications. The pizza sauce has changed back to how it used to be.. at one point they were using a sweet sauce and it was horrible. Love Mario's for life!

I order a half steak cheese with everything except ketchup the time was 7:40 the store closing 8:30 which they had enough time to prepare. Spot is the same as I remembered as a kid. Sausage sub was quite good. I am glad I ordered extra provolone. Only thing missing was fennel seed, which I remember being a part of the sausage sub when I was a kid. 08/2022 - Update: Rating updated to (5) stars. IMHO, still one of the best places for subs/pizza in the DMV.

Been eating here since the 70s when it use to stay open till 4am I lived in DC and Forestville back then and it has changed hands but the food stayed the same. The best pizza, steak&cheese, and sausage sub are the best in the area. Now I come up from St. Mary's for the food it's well worth the ride.

This was the spot back in the day now its just some place to go get food from.

Do NOT waste your time or money! I’ve always been hesitant to eat here just because of the location and how the outside looks. My instincts were correct! DISGUSTING! The pizza is literally frozen pizza with added cheese. So disappointing.

A friend raved about the pizza. Finally tried a sausage pizza. Crust is subpar, but they piled on the topping. Only could eat 2 of the 6 mid-sized squares. Maybe next time I'll try the steak & cheese. Spent more than I would have liked.

I asked for my wing to be fried crispy and they wasn't then I ask for mayo mustard ketchup lettuce tomatoes and raw onions on my steak and cheese and they did everything else except for ketchup and I love ketchup.

Sausage sub can't be beat. Not a sub where you have to pay extra for the meat because it's full of meat. Great service. I've been patronizing this place for over 30 years and it just gets better. Worth the price!

Been a Mario's patron for years and it's by far one of my favorite pizza places in DC. Huge square slices, hearty dough, excellent ingredients. Can never go wrong with a "pie" pizza from Mario's House Pizza.

There Sub Rolls do not taste the same. They need to change Sub Rolls to the original from years ago. I will not buy my Favorite Steak and Cheese until they get better quality Sub roll. That's my opinion.

Mario's is a hit or miss sometimes, today was a miss. I ordered pizza and get home, the cheese was not melted, to the the point were you can still see the cheese print so it was not hot.

Hidden gem...i've enjoyed their authentic pizza for decades! The pizza is drizzled w/a fantastic oil & i think they use dill, which enhances the flavor. The subs are the best on town!

Grew up off of Marios nothing like their subs and pizza, especially the sausage sub. After all these years, everything is still the exact only change is the price.

I've ate from both Mario's from VA and the one in DC. But we taking about the one in Southeast, the ship is small but the food is big and worth the wait and money.

Normally it's good however this trip food was not good. Pizza was warm and under cooked . The cheeseburger sub was slightly burnt, so it had that burnt taste.
