We have brought the same car to Max about 6 times over the course of a few months, each time having to bring it back within a few weeks. Max continually failed to mention problems with the car each time it was taken to him so when the problems became apparent to us, we had to take the car back to Max to spend more money to fix issues that should have been mentioned before. The last time we took the car in, it left with more issues than it went in with, one of these issues potentially dangerous. Max is clearly a subpar mechanic that is either unable to identify clear issues with cars, or is just pulling a money-grabbing scheme and purposely not mentioning said issues to clients to make a quick buck. Max has also been incredibly condescending on occasion and is unable to admit any fault. Would definitely not recommend this mechanic

I'm 65. I own and have owned a range of vehicles, from a Saab 2.3 turbo to a Mazda 2 , to now a 3L V6 Ford Escape and a 2.8 turbo diesel Toyota Hi-Ace campervan. Max has looked after them all - he is the best mechanic I've encountered in my life. He gets fixed, whatever is the problem, and I've never found any mechanic to be less expensive. I've encountered so called 'European specialists', whose work is is very much the inferior of Max's, and whose costs are literally 2 to 3 times that of Max. I do not believe anyone who claims to have had poor service from Max; his ethics and integrity are beyond reproach. He cares about the great reputation he has earned over many years in the area, and would not throw it away. In short, I don't believe you will find anyone better anywhere.

Let me share my experience with Max. I have personally never found another mechanic as honest as Max. After he completed work on my vehicle he showed me all the work he had done and asked me if I could come back so he can check how my engine is doing post repairs. Max did an unbelievably good job with keeping my costs down as he strives to give you the best price. He quoted me when I dropped off the car and when I picked it up he said it was even cheaper than what he said previously which completely blew my mind away. I will definitely be coming back to Max for any of my mechanical needs. Highly recommend this place!

We brought my car into the centre to obtain a quote 2 weeks ago and the mechanical worker who promised to get back to us last week had never responded until now. I understand that if their business are good and busy they may tie up with many jobs but I am quite disappointed with how they handle our quote unprofessionally. They not even bother to follow up or contact us if they are delaying the quote. We called them last Tuesday and early this week and they promised to send the quote shortly but we never receive any news so I will give a bad review for not promptly in responding their potential customers.

I had came to Max Muffler and Mechanics for an issue where my car would shake and lose power and also get a service, he had talked me into replacing my spark plugs on this service, these spark plugs have lasted a little over a year before failing as I have to take the car to another mechanic to give me proper spark plugs. Also after getting my car back the speedometer had gone from flawlessly working every time, to being spotty, to now working once in a blue moon. His excuse was the humidity, a better mechanic told me the the dash would had broke under their care.

I would like to highly recommend Max for outstanding service and prompt response to my query through Autoguru. He was the only mechanic to respond and on a Sunday evening as well! Max inspected the vehicle on Monday morning, clearly explaining the process required to fix a passenger mirror. An hour later he advised that the part was available as well as the cost. The repair was completed the next day on Tuesday morning to our great satisfaction. Max was most professional and provided a fantastic service. Thank you so much Max.

Took my jeep in as the engine light had come on. Max and I discussed what the issue may be, he reset to turn off engine light and advise to come back if it turns back on. If the issue was a legitimate problem we d know by this same light reappearing. Max refused any payments for this service which some places charge for. The light has come back, and I m returning for a quote. It can be very difficult to find a mechanic to assist a female in these matters, but Max was very good and explained all processes too me.

We have been going to Max for over twenty years to have our landcruiser serviced and repairs. You could not get a more professional person. He takes genuine interest in your vehicle, he always calls if there are any problems during the time he has your car, he explains what needs to be done and he is just a genuine nice bloke. Good for a story and a laugh. Our daughters go to Max as well and we are confident he maintains their car to a high safety standard as well.

I am a retired Mechanical Engineer and I found this person (manager) Super friendly and highly professional, due to his many years in the Auto industry, I would recommend this person without hesitation, his pricing is also much cheaper than other mechanics on all fronts and is totally negotiable if required, he is also flexible and reliable with his booking times to suit the customer, I feel that I have found the perfect company for all my mechanical needs.

I went to Max Mufflers, Northgate today for the first time. I'm so happy I did, I had my 80k service ( more like 87k ) and my timing belt changed. I found Mathias to be a gentleman, honest and knowledgeable. My car feels great to drive again and the price for such awesome service was more than comparable. I have found my new favorite mechanic and I'm not going anywhere else, thank you :-)

This is my 2nd service with Max and he's always honest, fair and so reasonably priced! He doesn't treat you like an idiot like some mechanics do. He explains absolutely everything and is will to help you adjust the service to your budget by delaying something if need be to help I would recommend Max and his Son to anyone wanting a fair repair or service.
