If you move here good luck. You can not call and get any information from the school unless you already know the name of the person you are trying to call. You can not call and find out information. I had to sit in the registration office twice and register. After the first time my son went to school and was not registered. I went back to the same woman, she had no idea how he was not registered. The only person other than me here my son knows is his step dad. He was put as a pick up person, he was not able to pick him up when he was sick without me talkign to them on the phone, it took over an hour to pick up a sick kid. My son is an honors student and has a 3.89 GPA and had NO CHOICE over which academy he was in. Although his actual teachers seem very concerned and involved with what his IEP says there is no one to help me get his stuff in order. We will be going to private school as soon as possible. This school is IMPOSSIBLE to work with and not being able to call and get a person is ridiculous. I have been a teacher in three school districts , including a much bigger school in the Chicago suburbs and you can call that school and get a person in the office without knowing their goddamn name. A JOKE! Home school or private school all the way.
The school got mixed up my information with another student at my school and my step dad couldn't pick me up when I was sick even though he was on the pick up list because my address was switched with the other student. My mom also is getting calls for another students and when she called and asked the office about the calls no one could help her or find out what why she was getting the calls, and we are received mail for the other student and they ate receiving our mail.
The school is a perfect fit for anyone. The school has 8 Major acadimes and hundreds of pathways. If your child is interested in being a pilot we have The Academy of Aviation and Transportation, with the pathways of Auto mechanics, Aviation flight, Aviation tech, And one more. I currently attend and I love it. The atmosphere is loving. The teachers are well qualified and are willing to help if you need it. So I would really recommend letting your child attend.
Every single day since my daughter became a senior I have received a phone call from mcgavock high schools automated system telling me that my daughter is absent. Not only does it call my phone but calls my husbands phone and calls my place of work and also calls my husbands work. every single day at 1:00 pm. This is a great way to spend your time and the students time proving you are where you are suppose to be. What a great learning environment!

I have been a substitute teacher in many Nashville schools and my best days are at McGavock. The teachers are professional and the students are generally respectful
Graduated from here and I'm proud to say it's the best school in Nashville TN.
Nobody ever answer the phone just leave a message 365 days a year.
