Every day - through our Jenman Support service - we are asked by home-sellers to help find the best agents in any area to sell their homes. That is no easy task given the dreadful standard of most agents. How I wish all agents were as good as Brent Courtney. The BIG difference between Brent and most agents is that Brent puts the interests of our sellers ahead of his own interests. We have an eight-point check-list that we ask all agents to comply with. In short, this checklist says that agents are not allowed to rip-off home-sellers. Most agents refuse to agree. Most agents refuse to listen. With most agents, it's all about them - including many in the McGrath network. But not Brent Courtney. I cannot begin to state how impressed I am with the genuine decency, integrity and humility of Brent. What's SO GOOD about him? Well, first, he offers our sellers no charges until their homes are sold and they are happy - none of that rip-off upfront advertising scams with our sellers. And second, he knows how to get the very best price. He sold a home in Lane Cove for a massive $400,000 more than the other agents quoted. The owner confessed to having a "pathological hatred of agents". But not Brent and his angelic ladies. He was so impressed. As am I. If you are selling in or around the Lane Cove area and you are not using Brent Courtney, I believe you will be paying too much in expenses and, worst of all, under-selling your home. If every agent in Australia was like Brent Courtney, I would be out of a job. He is in the top 1% when it comes to doing what is best for clients. Call him and see if I am right. This is a short note of my sincere thanks to our portfolio manager Brooke for taking such good care of us during the repair of the water taps in our rented apartment. I phoned Brooke regarding the broken and leaking water taps. She sounded very friendly and enthusiastic over the phone. After carefully listening to my description of the water tap problems, she explained the reporting process to me and gave me very clear instructions on what to do next. Minutes after we finished the conversation over the phone, Brooke sent me an email with the information I needed. I was very impressed by how quick she sent me the email. Our following communications were mainly through emails. Brooke replied my emails promptly and I always got an answer from her on the same day I sent an email to her. She was extremely efficient in contacting the landlord and obtaining approval to send plumbers as well. During the process, she sent me emails to let know how it is progressing, and she followed up with me after the repair to make sure everything is OK. The time she took to resolve the whole thing was a lot shorter than I expected. This was a great help to us since the broken water taps caused us a lot of inconvenience. Brooke showed genuine care about our inconvenience and concerns, and she demonstrated a very high level of professionalism and commitment throughout the process of helping us. I really appreciate your help, Brooke. You are awesome! You have made things a lot easier for your tenants. I wish you all the best in your future work!

I had a worst experience of tenancy ever, from the beginning our lease was weird, first lease was 10 months only then the agent promised me second lease should be one year, but in the end only 6 months, then after 6 months they were totally silent ignoring our request of lease renewal and didn't renew the lease without any explanation. Finally we decided to end our tenancy. After we returned the key, they were silent for two weeks ignoring my several emails. Then I claimed the bond refund online after two weeks, then the agent called me instantly. it took two weeks to get a final condition report. the agent picked small stain on the floor, took one months to make up mind how much they wanted to charge us, it took me a month to get bond refund. eventually they tried to charge us $300 for a compensation. its very slow response action and not professional service. The agent also asked me to change my old Google review regarding this agent from 1 to 5. I don't think they should ask to change the Google review, that's not fair to the consumers.

I am writing to you to praise the communication and professional work of Brooke de Bree at McGrath Lane Cove. I have been renting for over a 15 years, while currenting a Lane Cove North property since February 2015 and I have never had a property manager so on top of their role. Not only does she ensure that residences are notified in a timely manner on any strata requirements/issues or inspections, but she also handles tenants request for assistance or repairs with confirmation of receipt, eta, updates and outcome. As a tenants, It can be nerve racking asking for assistance with repairs or assistance from real estates, but not only does she make herself available but is also very approachable. After having so many managers handling the apartment over the last 3 years it is so refreshing to have Brooke. And I’m sure any owner would be pleased to have their property investment under her management

As a long term tenant I had to deal with a number of property managers from McGrath. and they have been totally useless when organizing work to be done in apartment. Replacing the basin cabinet took 6 weeks to be finalized and mess left in the bathroom during that time. Replacing wardrobes was organized beyond belief. Joinery person put the wardrobes without backing, with render exposed, unpainted walls. Robes were complately unusable because of crambling render. When I contacted the property manager she was surprised and agreed that the job was not finished. She let me know that there was cost involved in finishing the job and that she will talk with the landlord. I have not heard back from them in 5 weeks. I had to improvise the backing so that I can continue to use robes. If you have any choice, avoid them as a tenant. Experience is humilating.

We just had the absolute worst possible experience with McGrath Lane Cove (this was after we have had very pleasant experiences with Jellis Craig and Raine & Horne in the past). They are very biased and have absolutely no respect for the tenants’ views or the facts. They expected us to pay for everything that had ever happened to an extremely poorly maintained/old property. This was almost entirely because we broke the lease early (although we did pay the termination fee) which clearly did not please them. In my 8 years of renting 5 properties (across Australia and Hong Kong) have never had such a pathetic experience. An agent should adequately listen to the points of view of both the parties (and just not side with the landlord). Would highly recommend avoiding them and possibly for the authorities to look into such high handed behaviour.

My wife and I were really unfortunate to lose out on the opportunity to rent a place our hearts were set on due to the owner changing his mind a few days before we meant to move in, which really caused a sense of panic as we had already let the current landlord know we were moving out and had already arranged everything for the move. We really owe it to Brooke in conjunction with Deborah for really taking our situation to heart and quickly arranged for us to view apartment in the same location which turned out to be an even better apartment than the one we lost out on! So we just want to say a huge thank you to Brooke for saving the day and finding us an apartment we love and in time to make our move out a very smooth process! Chad & Megan

I can not fault the team at McGrath Lane Cove Michael Ferguson, and Amy Coassin, for their honesty with the situation in rental accommodation with in the area and I was confident that they would be able to get a tenant and look after it and me. In quick time they had paper work, pictures taken and advertised on the McGrath Web page. Soon after I was informed that a potential tenant had filled in the paper work and wanted to move in. After a short time i was information credit card, work and personal information given was verified, on that I agreed to the rental agreement. Having rented multiple properties across Sydney in the last 5 years, this is the first time I've felt that the Real Estate was actually invested in the welfare of both the landlord AND the tenants, always seeking a more than reasonable middle ground with a lightning quick response time to any issues that arise. I couldn't recommend my own property manager William Geist more highly, as well as the entire team at McGrath Lane Cove.

I was one of the tenants. It's been 2 months since I vacated the apartment and still have not received my bond back. I was trying to call to the property manager Jasmine Oppy, but she never answered. She also never replied on my e-mails. During the last 2 weeks I have been spoken with different people at McGrath Lane Cove, but all of them seem hopeless. I still did not get my bond back. It is a very big disappointment how they deal with tenants and clients. That is for sure, if I am gonna buy my own property, or sell it McGrath won't be on my list of Real Estate agencies to work with, until they will improve their customer service.

Absolutely hopeless, where do I start! Had to follow up on my notice to vacate 3 times (I think they didn’t tell the last owner that the tenants had moved out until after they had done so) Withheld bond for 2 weeks after agreeing to release it and then decided they would withhold the bond for an outstanding fee (which I wasn’t made aware of until 2 weeks after I’d moved out) Was a tenant for 18 months and I had two different property managers, wasn’t advised of the changes. Terrible at maintenance requests, ended up having to contact the landlord directly. Offered $35 to take this review down or change to 4 stars! Avoid if you can!

I have very much appreciated the excellent service received from William Geist of McGrath. When he was conducting a routine inspection, he arranged an early morning appointment so that I could be present, was punctual and removed his shoes (without even being asked) prior to entering. William is polite, professional, and very efficient. Recently, when we asked if flyscreens could be installed, William liaised with the owners, organised for a handyman to do a quote and within a couple of weeks the job was done! I really appreciate William's efforts and I highly recommend him as a property manager.

Aisha is a great leasing consultant, prompt and easy to deal with. Problem with first property manager, well, no one from McGrath LC office communicated that we had no property manager. Only knew when we reported a problem with the hotwater system, when we were given the run around as no one was handling the property we were at. Krystal Li took over half-way through our one year lease contract. She has been great, always reply to my emails on time. Would recommend McGrath Lane Cove to others!

I would like to thank William Geist from McGrath Property Management Lane Cove, who looked after the tenancy of our house while we were living overseas. William was responsive and good to deal with especially when there were a few problems with the tenants, which is not uncommon in the circumstances. They cared to update information about a property I was interested in, online but Deborah did not contact me with updates as soon as she got it! Hmm not sure how to respond to your review so I will do it here, Clearly only one person can be accepted for a property however you did not care to contact me sooner even though I had contacted you and inspected the property a week in advance. Also, your leasing team never got in touch with me shortly after this review.

We had one of the worst experiences with McGrath, in the year we stayed as tenants in a rental they managed. Our agent got sick at the beginning of the tenancy and nobody in the entire office thought of replacing him or at least allocating the properties under his care to someone else. We had to speak to someone different every time for the major issues that came with the rental, and of course it took forever to get anything done. So glad we moved.

I have been a Tenant with McGrath Lane cove since December 2016 The service provided by the property manager has been excellent. The current Property Manager Ms De Bree has been very efficient . Any questions or concerns about the property have been dealt with in a timely and efficient manner. Tradesman have been of a high standard and have communicated well . This provides a feeling of confidence and safety which are essential for all concerned

Aisha Skaf at Lane Cove McGrath has been an exceptional agent. As a tenant, she has been fast to respond to any queries about the property. We initially missed the scheduled inspection time, and Aisha took her time to come to the inspection location within 10 minutes, rather than rescheduling the inspection for another day. She’s extremely approachable and understanding, absolutely recommend her. Both a quality agent and company.

I've been enquiring about an apartment for 2 weeks to ask for info and schedule an inspection. I've called, sent messages and emails multiple times, was told i was going to receive contact by a responsible soon, but I've been totally ignored and in the end it turns out the apartment had already been secured by someone else because the lease advertisement hadn't been updated for 2 weeks. Ridiculous and unprofessional

Here's something I'd never thought I'd say about a property manager in Sydney. Andy Ng is highly professional, efficient, responsive and so pleasant to deal with during and at the end of my tenancy, all of which makes him truly different from all the realtors out there. It is imperative both tenants and landlords choose their agents wisely, and I think Andy makes great property manager for tenants and landlords.

Dealt with 3 different property managers in the space of 3 months. The rental property we were at, the landlord was very hesitant to do any repairs (took weeks to convince them to install a bathroom fan). The area manager threatened to hold our bond if we pursued our case in NCAT. Moved in Feb 2020 and moved out in June 2020. However every time I called, the receptionist was very nice and helpful.

Our experience dealing with William Geist has been extremely pleasant and reassuring. William is very responsive, both emails and phone and his professionalism, work attitude and ethics can not be praised highly enough. At its heart property management is essentially about being reliable, resourceful, well organised and communicating well, I can confidently say he nails all those points.

Worst property management experience, they don't care about customers. they have been managing our property in lane cove , every time need to contact them, it will take 2-3 weeks to get back to us if they would! property reports supposed to be sent every 6 months, we only received one in the last 2 years. I had to manage many things for the tenant directly as McGrats agents are too busy

Krystal has been managing the property and lets me know of any issues that invariably come up. She's very prompt and gets back to me quickly with answers to any questions I may have . She's very accommodating e.g she organised for me to be at the last property inspection as I was thinking of renovating the property. She is an excellent property manager and Mcgrath is lucky to have her.

It is a shame that the stars only go up to 5. The property management team are simply outstanding; they go absolutely above and beyond! The team at McGrath have been very good with their customer service. Speedy replies and attention to the needs of my tenants. Also the tenants they have sourced have been very good so that says a lot about their vetting service. Also it all just makes the end of year reporting for taxes much easier and I don't know how I would have managed it from a distance with out them.
