I don't even know how to accurately express my disappointment in the service I received at Mediclinic Vergelegen. -We arrived at the time we were instructed to be there and waited for over an hour to be taken to the ward. Once in the ward no one was there to assist. We waited for more than 15minutes and eventually only got assistance after we pushed the button to call for a nurse. -When we arrived for visiting hours and no clear update could be given on the status of the patient's surgery. We were firstly told that the patient was in ICU. Upon arrival at the ICU ward no one knew about the patient. Eventually someone assisted and told us that the patient should be in the surgical ward (ward G) - the ward that directed us to ICU in the first place. We returned to the ward and had to ask THREE different nurses for assistance until one eventually called the theatre and confirmed that the patient is in the recovery area and on their way to the ward. -The patient had a complex procedure done on his shoulder and therefore unable to use his right arm. He was returned to the ward around 20:30. After not eating for the whole day he received his meal at 22:00. The staff member simply left the tray there without giving any assistance. The patient was unable to eat since he could not use his arm (that was literally operated on less than two hours ago). Also take into consideration that he had a drip in the other arm also restricting mobility. -He also received no assistance in going to the bathroom. The patient could not lift the covers by himself or get off the bed by himself. No one offered helped and he had to ask several times until someone eventually did. -In general the staff in the ward was unfriendly and unprofessional (shouting instructions to one another from across the room). The doctor that did the procedure was absolutely lovely. I can't understand why he practises at such a highly dysfunctional and unprofessional institution. I am so upset by this experience and hope that these issues will be addressed. It is traumatising enough to be so vulnerable as one is when you have a surgical procedure. You are so dependant on the staff that it's actually demoralising. I wish that no one will ever had to go through the same experience we had.
This is a place to go to... Excuse the first part of the review as relates to Stellenbosch - who were terrible. But Vergelegen were great. My wife was stung by a bee, and we rushed her over to the Mediclinic in Stellenbosch as she is allergic and needs to be treated within 30-40 minutes to ensure the symptoms are managed and she does not stop breathing potentially. Upon arrival we explained the situation and were asked to take a seat with an HOUR waiting time. This was at the EMERGENCY section of the hospital. There was also in the waiting room a young lady that was throwing up violently and whose appendix had apparently burst. Also waiting for her hour later potential appointment with a doctor. HORRIFIC! to say the least. We and the young lady (her mother saw us leaving and decided to do the same), both left. I called the Mediclinic in Somerset West and set off to them - now having wasted a valuablle 15-20 minutes. On the way over the scratchiness in the throat and difficulty breathing for my wife had started to set in. Thankfully Somerset West Mediclinic were well organised, immediately ushered her into the Emergency rooms, and applied the required adrenaline shots and drips, etc. Great service from them! In Summary - if you are dying - drive the extra bit to Somerset West, avoid Stellenbosch. In future we will rather go direct to Somerset West and not even bother with Stellenbosch.
I have always been a client of Vergelegen Medi Clinic , Somerset West and I was always very happy with the excellent service I have Received from them . Yesterday afternoon 17: 40 30-11-2017 my little son witch is 9 months old had a very very high fever and was shaking like never before so I got in my car and was on the way to Medi clinic Vergelegen and my Baby started to shake badly again didn't know what to do and i was sitting in traffic so I phoned the Emergency room and spoke to a lady in the front . First of all she was rude from the get go and I asked her if a doctor is on duty and she said yes . And I asked her very nicely if I can speak to the doctor for 2 secs just to know what I must do with my shaking baby she simply just said NO and I begged her for 2 seconds to speak to the doctor then she said you can if you come in and i was explaining to her that i am on my way and she simply didn't care and while i was talking she hung up the phone in my ear I tried again and she heard my voice and put down the phone in my ear again . I am definitely not putting my family in the hands of this company . I know one lost client won't mean anything I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else . Really not nice when knowing there is not much options to choose from .
Worst experience ever. I swear a state hospital is better than this place. 1. The doctor was great. The nursing staff is useless. 2. My husband went in for a procedure. When he wanted to leave afterwards he was told he can't leave until the doctor saw him. This was at 12. When I phoned the doctor at 5pm, he said he was told that my husband was already discharged. 3. After asking for pain meds for and hour and a half, having nurses come in 3 times during that time, no one gave him anything for his extreme discomfort and pain or even explained to him what was going on. 4. When I got there, I was asked to run to the pharmacy to get meds because the nurse was apparently so busy chatting to another nurse, she could not manage to take 5min to do her job and help my husband. 5. At 5h30pm the nurse came in and said the doctor said my husband can leave. But I just spoke to the doctor and he was on his way there. 6. The doctor wanted my husband to stay the night because of his severe pain but my husband left AMA because of the horrendous service of this hospital. After paying almost 40k to be at a private hospital just to receive service worse than a state hospitals. It's pathetic. Ward G in this hospital has useless staff who don't care about the patients at all.
Took my dad in. He had severe pain for the second time this week. Had to wait 3 hours. People use ER as their gp now. On an ordinary Monday morning the place looked like the airport. Nobody bothered to check on us. He couldn't walk. When we finally got to the back the doctor was rude, didn't listen to him and was annoyed because we told her what the house doctor said and asked her for help in that regard. She seemed extremely inexperienced and was utterly unprofessional. Is she too young to be working there? Do they forget how expensive it is to go there? I don't recommend this hospital. Young ER doctors' egos get in the way of them doing a proper job. The chairs in the waiting area are so uncomfortable. Don't even consider going there. You'll wait for hours on end without anyone caring. And please keep your standard "send us an email " reply to yourself. We won't. Hopefully people read this and make other choices. Turns out he needed surgery. ER doctor and ER experience as a whole was shocking and disgusting. You can not let someone in such agony wait for 3 hours and give them a very basic pain medication drip. Appalling!
Seriously unprofessional, unhelpful and unreliable nursing staff in the surgery unit. I had to repeatedly last night ask the nurse to assist my dad. She saw his drip half empth and half an hour later still hadn't replaced it. She never connected the drip monitor either. She never plugged in his bed control, nor handed him his nurse bell. She left him without anything to drink after we requested it. When we arrived, before my dad got back from theatre, I pointed out to this same nurse that another man needs help - he was walking around his bed with his underwear hanging between his legs, fully exposed, trying to pull out his drip. She ignored me and half an hour later still hadn't helped him. I had to ask another nurse eventually about my dad's drip, bed controls, nurse bell, etc. This morning, my dad was terribly swollen and in a lot of pain. His bladder had gone into a spasm and the staff did nothing. My mom had to fight with them to put in a catheter. I am highly concerned that my dad has to spend another night in Vergelegen Medi-Clinic.
My 5 star goes to the following staff in Mediclinic vergelegen hospital Somerset West. They are so caring and always willing to assist with a smile on their faces. They made my stay comfortable. They were very understanding and I had so much pain but I was well cared for. Thank you so much may you continue with your excellent service. Nurses 1. Marry Pienaar (She is a sweetheart) 2. Riana Tamboer 3. Chantel Olivier 4. Sr Swanepoel 5. Christella Johnson 6. Sr Wendy 7. I was scorned by a sister, because she viewed my accident as self inflicted. An injury which lead to head surgery by a plastic surgeon... an accident...,And compared my accident to be less important than a bus accident. I assume that is why I was left alone in a room for an extended period of time. My gf at the time got upset by this and caused quite a scene in order to get me some medical attention as she couldn't believe the delay. I was also told not to drink water by someone, because "you will vommit all over the place". No empathy, little humanity. It's sad that medical care has become private as it's all about money. And patients become clients, wallets. I forgot to mention how they also struggled to find a vein to insert the drip and it was concerning as this gave me the impression that the staff member was not well enough trained. I'm a bit foggy, but it's possible that I even helped her to find the vein.
Unfortunately the staff in casualty were not very helpful or knowledgable when it came to assisting with the emergency that we had at 6am this morning. We travelled 80km from other side Paarl to the hospital to come to the casualty as our specialists wound care pamphlet made it very clear of the process to follow. At casualty the male receptionist was surly & not understanding at all. Very impersonal service offered. The nurse tried to call the specialist who was supposedly in theatre & couldn’t be contacted. We were then told by the nurse to go to the specialists office & wait for them to attend to us. When the receptionist opened the practice at 8am she informed us that the specialist hasn’t even scrubbed in yet. Pray tell me why we are treated like second class citizens & fobbed off? So wish that I could rate the casualty department & it’s staff on a negative number. #Vergelegenmedclinicwontseeusagain
What an unpleasant experience I ever had. Could barely walk or speak when i walked in. Then waited almost 2 hours to be helped. Doctor seemed very uninterested the moment he approached me, tone and body language like I wasted his time by being there. A nurse or whatever she was about to assist me just to hear someone screaming from the other side "dis ma net n discharge meisie" and the nurse changed direction. I guess you need to be on your death bed to be taken serious in that hospital. Was such a disappointment, walking into a hospital so afraid not knowing whats wrong and to be treated in such a manner and then still having to pay almost 2k when I walked out although I have medical aid. I walked out there after 3 hours with no medication, nothing to help with the way i was feeling...In future I would rather drop dead on the street than walk into that hospital again.
I was admitted on the 31 January 2020 for a day procedure to the Vergelegen Medi Clinic From the admissions desk to the nurses in the wards, to Hector who wheeled me to theater, the singing theater sisters and singing anethetist, my amazing Doctor it was a phenomenal experience. Everyone from the moment I stepped into the hospital were friendly, caring , professional, patient and kind. The facilities were spotless, the system efficient and everything was harmonious. Thank you to this incredible team, who obviously love their work, whose dedication shines through in their compassion and empathy and love and laughter for helping to make a potentially stressful experience, a very relaxing and dare I say enjoyable experience. God bless you one and all abundantly. Evelyn van den Heever
This review is only for Dr.Mitchell who attended to my 11week old son who we rushed to hospital on the 30th of June at 3am..... The dr said oh ur son needs oxygen, 2sec later oh no need for that.... I explained he's not eating properly, he's having a very bad cough... Dr said we'll ur son is responsive, if he's starting to get non responsive u can bring him back if u want to. Uhm we don't live 2min away from the hospital!!!!!! Was sent home with a script of meds we do have.. In future when on duty & need to attend to a infant rather call a pead instead of doing ur own thing!!! Boom gues who end up coming back to hospital the next day with my so ,who was then submitted by his amazing pead with dubble pneumonia!! The bill you tried claiming from my medical aid won't be paid!!!!
Excellent service generally. I was in labour pains bt I know that magic doesn't work just because I have medical aid. Pain is part of childbirth and/or injury and/or illness. Proactive nurses and doctors at your hospital can only do so much before you're rendered completed drugged up and in danger of respiratory collapse and killing yo own baby because you want zero discomfort . Also, thank you for giving me the time alone with my newborn so I can start parenting and making myself proud as a mom, being able to change nappies and bond with my angel. Sorry for all the ungrateful people who give such negative reviews because they're self entitled, lazy and ungrateful. Keep up the good humane and scientific work you do. Definitely using your hospital in future. God bless.
We had to rush my 3 year daughter here in the middle of the night. The wait to be seen was long, the staff in the emergency room was SOOO LOUD the staff had no respect for any patient who were trying to rest they have clue how to speak quietly and lack empathy I'd rather take the drive from somerset west to stellenbosch but definitely won't be back at this hospital. When we were in the pediatric ward the nurse came in at 11.45 and said if you are here after 12 then we are charging you for 2 days (we'd only been there 11 hours ) Not once during the course of the morning did they mention that my daughter would be discharged Then after we left they called us to come come back because they forgot to let us sign something
Shocking! My mother had a Kyphoplasty done on 9 Dec. 2 days no lunch. When phoned they offered her an evening meal tuna which she was allergic to so did not eat. The next day she was at xrays over lunch returned to room and no lunch again. Dischardged on 15th with no aftercare instructions given script for Parasetomol.. Her surgeon went on leave the previous day and would have left instructions. No one knows if there are stitches to be removed etc. She had to move rooms twice due to remotes, lights not working. Looked if ceiling was collapsing. Patients were calling for help from their beds with no respinse from nurses. Cannot speak to matron due to problems with phone lines. The hospital was quiet that week.
I had a very traumatic experience. I gave birth to my first baby via c-section. I received no help when myself and my baby needed it. Since there was a shortage of staff I pleaded for my husband to stay with me and look after my baby. I couldn't move and there was a few complications with my baby but they said he couldn't. I was in pain, in and out of sleep because of the surgery and still had to look after my baby that was a few hours old. Didn't get pain medication when I needed it, waited for almost an hour for someone to help me to the bathroom, didn't get help as a new mother or someone that had a major surgery, baby didn't get the help that he needed. I would not recommend this horrible hospital.
Just been to the coffee shop at the hospital. Coffee was great, food was great and service was fantastic. What was disappointing was the cleaner that decided to throw chairs around and clean so loudly that I couldn't hear my friend talk. With her husband being admitted and stress levels being high, all she was looking for was a quiet place to sit, reflect, have a coffee and an intimate chat with her friend. I think the young lady cleaning in the restaurant needs training on how to keep noise levels down and not make a person feel so unwelcome. Even after she was asked to clean quieter she was aggressive and rude. Not leaving my friend in a good frame of mind to go face a very ill husband.
On Monday 13 June My husband was admitted to Vergelegen Mediclinic for spinal surgery. He received tremendous treatment from Staff Nurse B Ntsendwane during the day, nothing was too much for her for which I say huge Thank You. In the evening the Sister/nurse Yolande' took over, this was an absolute angel. So professional. If he made the slightest movement, she was at at his bedside right through the night, keeping him as comfortably as humanly possible. Thank you to all the staff but to these two special ladies I wish you every success, and a sincere thank you for your professionalism and care. Mediclinic you are honored to have two such staff members. God Bless
Top notch facility enriched by remarkable staff. Not going to mention names in case I forget someone but everyone from the staff, nurses and doctors make you feel well cared for. Nurses always available when you need them so after a few days ,on my return home , I had to remember that I couldn't just ring a bell to get help and attention anymore !!! Such amazing dedication and professionalism. Food was great , coffee a bit kak so had rooibos, always served with a smile and humour. Thanks Mediclinic, the team at the CARDIOTHORACIC WARD L AND CRITICAL CARE , you have an exceptional facility and are exceptional human beings.
I had surgery earlier this month for the first time at Mediclinic Vergelegen and my phenomenal experience has changed my opinion about hospitals. I especially want to give a big thank you to Chantel, who went above and beyond to look after me and my husband in the obstertics and maternity ward. Even though her time was limited with each patient, she made sure that the patients in the ward were well monitored. She was very polite, professional, informative and patient. The other nurses also deserve a thank you who assisted me right before and after my surgery who were empathetic towards me which I feel goes a long way.
Flabbergasted at the extreme bad management!! Reception was so very poor. Not only did admission take an hour (after arriving before the required time). The reception staff need serious training.Shambles!! The so called "porter" service is pathetic!!! Again serious training needed. They also need GPS to find the correct location they are supposed to take you to Nursing staff mixed. Some excellent - other should find profession that will interest them. Was treated by Dr Venter - BRILLIANT and 5 star. The doctors appear to be extremely good. Pity they practice in such a badly managed facility. sssupposed to take
Excellent Emergency Department! Brought my toddler in with a bad injury and the nurses and doctors immediately took the most amazing care of him. I've never seen such empathy and care from medical practitioners before in my life! One of the nurses even offered to hold my other baby while I console my toddler. The doctor did an excellent job at fixing my son's injury and the nurses calmed me down and gave me a comfortable place to breastfeed. Follow up care was equally compassionate and efficient. Very knowledgeable staff who clearly love what they do. Excellent bedside manner all round.
On the 21st June i went in for a C- section and i must thank the wonderful nurses and sisters that helped take care of me during my stay. I wish i wrote all the lovely ladies names down who assisted me. However, thank you so so much for all your support during my stay. From Dr Ludwig van zyl to the ladies bringing food every day with a smile. I really appreciate it. There was also a lovely sister from the NICU that came and helped looked after little Mia. As a first time mom, its so nerve wrecking, but each person had grace and showed compassion. My heart is truly grateful, God bless.
I was admitted with severe pain at about 16h30. They left me writhing in pain tll 21h30 before I received my pain medication. My drip was only inserted at 22h30 and I didn't receive anything to eat ot drink. I eventually had to ásk for a glass of water. The operation was performed the following day and when I was waiting to be taken in to the OR, I noticed that the armband they gave me, had somebody ese's name and personal information on it!! I shudder to think what could have happened if something went wrong. After the operation I was left for hours without anybody checking on me.
Last week, I unexpectedly found myself in the Covid section of the Emergency Centre of Vergelegen Mediclinic and was a very unhappy and nervous patient to say the least! I was initially attended to by Robyn, a nurse in the unit and thereafter by Dr Prini (sincere apologies for any misspellings). They were both unbelievably caring, professional and reassuring, taking the time out of their really busy schedules to ensure that I was completely at ease. In these very difficult and challenging times, I would like to say thank you so very much. You are truly amazing people.
We had excellent service from the nurses doctors and kitchen staff when my 82 year old mother was in hospital for a while. However Miranda in accounts is very unprofessional. The Medical Aid paid most of the account. There is a shortfall which we must pay and I contacted her to make arrangements of R500. Today she sent me a final notice in my name and I wasn't the one I hospital. Be careful when you deal with her. My mom gets a pension and some of the Dr's are contracted out and not one had a problem for us to pay it off they even gave us a discount.
Spent 90mins in ER waiting to be attended to. I understood there had been multiple emergencies but I could hear they had also been winding down. The nurse even asked if I had received something for the pain and had been surprised to find out, I hadn’t even been attended to yet. The disgusting part, is the attitude of the staff. No apology. No attempts to try to attend to me then. Just big eyes and “we had emergencies”. After years of brilliant service. I am truly soured by just this one experience and will take my business to Busamed.
It was with an absolute pleasure dealing with the admin clerks, nurses and doctor van der Merwe. My gran was sent to another hospital in Paardevlei where they requested R250 000 up front payment where they could not advise what the itemised bill of the R250 000 would be which is ludacris. We brought her in to Mediclinic, and paid a mere fraction of the cost where we even got a discount as my gran did not have to stay the full 2-3 days as quoted but rather 1 night only. Mediclinic, keep doing what you doing!
Arriving at emergency ward with no one at reception all the doors open asking the outside guards to help me Explaining the situation over and over that my two year old could not breathe and we are 20min away for someone to please help us or monitor her Firstly i was asked not to get frustrated with the doctor- i was not frustrated i felt helpless against your lack of help and poor bedside manners Then i was asked if i took a video of daughter while she was not breathing- NO I WAS TO BUSY HELPING HER
Terrible hospital the dr could not have cared less I was at emergency and the dr asked my mom what her agenda was they admitted me because they were told to by my other dr i was then discharged the next morning I was so week I fell asleep trying to eat my breakfast. I really wanted to go to this but i have definitely changed my mind I am never going to go this hospital again. And I definitely not going to advice anyone to come here. The nurses were nice though.
ELAINE BASSON I was admitted at emergency Sunday, 7th feeling very sick. Well, I can only say "well done & many thanks" to the Doctor, Nursing Staff & guys at Reception ..... professional, caring, friendly, excellent service and, the Doctor was thorough in examining me and with his diagnosis ..... did all the necessary that had to be done! They treated me with the necessary respect, just like I treated them with respect and, that when they were extremely busy.
I had 3 very positive experiences with Mediclinic Vergelegen the past year. My daughter was born on 24 January. The doctors and nurses were amazing. I would most definitely recommend this hospital. My daughter had to return to hospital and we had to stay the night in the paediatric ward. Excellent nurses. We had to rush to ER with my daughter and the doctor on duty was amazing. She was really helpful and knowledgeable. I am really grateful.
Thank you for excellent service!!! After a terrible experience at another local hospital involving very expensive and unnecessary tests, we finally got the help we needed form Vergelegen Mediclinic. There was a bit of a wait at casualty, but it was understandable as they were quite busy. Other than that, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely make use of your services again if need be! Keep up the good work!
I recently underwent surgery and was in the orthopedic ward. My entire experience, from admission to discharge was faultless. The nurses, porters, cleaning staff, doctors, each and every person went out of their way to assist me. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they always had a smile whenever I saw them. The staff were incredibly competent at their jobs and displayed kindness and friendliness throughout my stay.
Very poor service at the emergency centre. Waited 3 hours from 7pm - 11pm just to be told that there is no dentistry there at all for an emergency extraction, or for my daughter to be booked in. They could have told me at the triage that they dont do dentistry when I explained why I was there., instead I was charged for consultation and stilpain which I have at home and still left with a child who has a swollen face. .
Booked in at Emergency, left for another hospital after waiting 2 hours and 15 minutes due to no attendance to our emergency. Asked numerous times and was just told that the ward is full, yet many came in afterwards and went straight through due to higher emergency category according to staff. Totally unacceptable and extremely poor service. Won’t recommend this hospital for emergencies.
Absolutely horrible service from the night staff in the maternity ward. Staff have terrible and extremely unhelpful attitudes. Would seriously recommend this to be looked at, as we will never recommend any one to go there. If anyone has the option to still change the hospital where your child and childs mother spend the first couple of days after birth, I strongly recommend you do that.
Visiting from the USA we had to take my wife Jeni to the Emergency care center on Saturday morning. She was suffering from severe abdominal cramps, diarrhea and dehydration. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. She was seen within minutes and and expertly treated. The place was spotlessly clean and everyone was very professional. Our sincere thanks to everyone!
Our 82 year old visitor fell down my stairs and broke her elbow. After bundling her into the car we rushed off to the clinic. I have to commend the staff in the emergency room who helped us. They took excellent care of her and she stayed overnight at the clinic after surgery. The staff at the clinic were excellent and I was so grateful to know she was in good hands
I'm only giving 5 because of the Dr that attended me oh she was good and patient with the procedure she did on me ... However the lady at the reception all she wanted was me to pay her cash and do the claims by my self regardless of the pain I was in I even offered to show that i have saving on my discovery app ohhh she didn't care..do better lady ,do better!!!!
To Dr Mauermann, his team in the hospital, (G Ward) to each and every nurse, Porter, receptionist, kitchenstaff and pharmacist.. You guys are really outstanding. Professional in every way, facilities immaculate and modern. You certainly made a stressful situation much easier for my husband with surgery and your care for your patients are commendable. Thank you.
Second time in 2 months that I took my son to Vergelegen Mediclinic ER. The first time I took him, we waited a bit long as the ER were busy. The long wait was worth the excellent service, from the reception staff, to the nursing staff and doctors.I had the same experience this morning. Everyone was friendly, efficient and professional.Keep up the good work!
The doctor is great as well as the ultra sound staff. Bernadette Abrahams is extremely unprofessional. She has serious issues. Sue Jane got the wrong patient details on the form, just shows her lack of interest in her job. Pity. Both these staff members must be called in and explain why they have a don't care attitude.
Brilliant service ICU, all the crew there thank you. General ward just go home please, you know you dont want to be there. Very few people there that care about the patients. I had to clean my fathers room for him as the food was there standing 2 days. He cant walk so the dont care if he has to pee.
From the time I arrived until I was discharged I was treated like a queen, the nurses and staff are true unsung hero’s, I have new respect for these people that make a life for caring for others, it’s humbling and truly life changing and a good reminder of what is really important in life ♥️
I came in for a simple cholesterol test and ended up waiting two hours to even see a doctor when they were not busy at all. I the realised they had forgotten about me even though I was sitting right in their face. Highly recommend you avoid this hospital as they are extremely disorganised.
Spoke to the Sister on call for 14 January 2023, day shift, the call was disconnected and on calling back phone was not picked up and call was disconnected again. I could not get a name on the 1st call but this is just very unproffesional as I wanted information on an urgent matter.
One of the best experiences visiting a hospital. From the moment we walked in - we were assisted speedy and with care. Thank you to all the staff members at ER, you all are truly exceptional and have a passion working at ER. Would highly recommended Mediclinic Vergelegen …
Had my baby here, very pleasant experience and nice staff. Just took hours to check out because only one nurse was doing all the paper work which seems like an admin problem. Old carpets in a maternity ward! My feet were black from the carpets... lets bring back linoleum please.
No IV put up from admission at 10 till 15:00. Medication handed out at 20:00 patient told to take it at 24:00??? Bowl of soup given first day following admission at 10:40. Next morning no breakfast given until asked for it twice... no compassion... just a job for the nurses..Sad
Had the misfortunate pleasure to spend 3 days in the orthopedic wing. What an amazing team! Always helpful. Smiling. Making small talk to help you ease into not so comfortable situations. Thank you to each and everyone that reminded me of the goodness of people Well done team.
At Somerset west emergency the doctor on call was ask the terrible nursing staff -a scissors to assist my daughter that fell at pick&pay Somerset west. We waited close to 20 minutes for a scissor before the doctor was available to help her. We pay a lot to get a good service.
Do not send elderly patients to the ICU cardiology as they tend to fall out the beds on their own They don't answer the bell as the monitoring device is out of order, PLEASE make use of a hospital that actually care for their patients and comply with international standards
I went to casualty last night at about 23h15 with my child. It were really busy but everyone from the lady that opened my file, the nurse that did the triage, the Emergency doctor, the lady that took the x rays and even the cleaner were friendly and very helpful.
Great hospital in my opinion and surely that of my family. My granddad spent months in there after serious injuries at work and even went in and out of the hospitals ICU. But he came out tops and the staff was so welcoming when we visited as family. Big ups!
Surprised at the unprofessional attitude of neurosurgeon M. Jacobsohn. Offered to provide various diagnostic information then failed to do so and refused to communicate. No way I would ever let someone like that scratch around inside my head.
One of the supreme hospitals in the Western Cape! Professional service. My friend and father Loupie Loubser is transfered from ward E to ICU.Dr Deon Greyling is exceptional doctor. Staff friendly! Please pray for L.Laubser.very serious!
Its amazing day staff are fabulous on it very interactive my wife gave birth every time we needed something day staff were there ... come night staff cant find them ask for medicine they ignore or u have to ask multiple times over ...
The Staff at Mediclinic Vergelegen in Ward G is absolutely amazing. They really care, work so nicely with you and always there to help. Love both the day and night shift staff. Thank you everybody for taking such good care of me.
Sister Reiners you are an excellent manager of your department... Thank you.... Your approach to our complaints turned our experience from mediocre to excellent. Thank you.... I can work knowing my wife is at peace in your ward.
Compitant staff, but seems intent on avoiding to deal with medical aid (prob a mission to get money from them) Gave up after 2 hours of trying to get an xray and paid cash even though I'm covered for it by medical aid.
This review is not for the emergency staff that would be **** I requested that all information about my visit be forwarded to my physician. They are unable to do this or will with an additional charge. I am disgusted!
The area i visited could really add another employer. One person taking your details, answering the phone, and taking blood....its just frustrating!!! Maybe Busa Med. Clinic would offer a better service in this area.
Absolutely Clean Hospital and very Friendly staff. Good reception. Special word of thanks to Mbukeka Mnana and Beatrice. Nice Coffee Shop and very reasonable food prices. Tasty food. Coenie Swart. Visitor.
fantastic.. clean. friendly and caring staff. even got offered a meal as they were serving supper to the wards regardless that I was booked into casualty.. much better than my visit prior the flood. .
Difficult, yet victorious. Had to airlift a friend cross country, she arrived, under cardiac arrest. 4 months later, thanks to Dr. Dewett, and Dr. Muller, she has made 100 percent recovery!
Staff member was exceptionally rude and misinformation provided. Reception and other departments have a disconnect. Edit: After talking to the hospital directly they made an apology.
ER staff are great but the oremises are in a horrid state, debris everywhere chairs are also durty and only one toilet working. Dustbin is overflowing. Really shocking for us to see
Excellent, professional, fast service. Very friendly and helpful staff, from reception to nursing, to the doctors. Wards and rooms are clean and facilties are top notch.

Dr Prim at Casualty is remarkable...friendly, really helpful and supportive in patient decisions...She was a ray of sunshine in a stressed situation...Thank you kindly
I was taken to the emergency department on Tuesday - the service was professional and the staff very friendly and eager to help. Thank you so much for your kindness.
The worst hospital ever. Wrong diagnosis - terrible nursing staff - irresponsible doctors. Thank God my father got out of there in time, my mother was not so lucky.
Mamma duck and her ducklings visiting the hospital, thanks to the doctors and staff of the maternity ward for all your assistance in the birthing of the ducklings.
Don't come here for emergency. The wait is over 2 hours whilst there is no queue. The service is pathetic. They charge private emergency rates for poor service.
Excellent service from Dr. Ludwig van Zyl and his staff, since day 1. Dr. made me feel at ease and they are always friendly. Would definitely recommend him.
Thank you to Dr Bolus and all at Medi Clinic day hospital for a great experience. It is indeed a priveleage to have access to such world class medical care.
Wrong diagnosis from Dr. Stephens!! Was send home and almost died for a lot of money I had to pay. No refunds was given. Shame on you Mediclinic.
Extremely good treatment and competent staff in MICU However what a major disaster and disapointment since transferral to the cadiilogy ward L
Nurse was not friendly towards my dad and made him wait a long time after he requested something. Overall unpleasant experience for him.
Best hospital I have ever been to. If you live in the area don’t even bother going somewhere else. You will be disappointed.
very nice hospital the staff is very friendly and helpful will definitely suggest the hospital if you in the area
Professional staff, well maintained and modern facilities. My experiences with their services have been positive.
Went into the Emergency unit. Took 2 and a half hours before we were helped by a doctor. Completely understaffed.
THE BEST hospital / clinic I have ever gone to in Cape Town. Staff are friendly, very clean and welcoming.
Service and care excellent. Food very good. I am very happy and would recommend this hospital to anyone.
My family and I always get exceptional service at the hospital. Staff are very professional and helpful.
Had a good breakfast at the coffee shop and a nice cappucinno with cream. Can highly recommend.
So clean. Very helpful staff. Thanks to the doctor for being concise and transparent.
