I went into this store the other day to get some items needed that the other hardware stores were not in stock with anymore. After going through the store for more than half an hour I then went to checkout. As soon as I began placing my items down the store manager, young blond woman, approached me about not wearing a mask and demanded I wear one or I couldn't get checked out. Mind you I had been walking around the store, uninterrupted, for more than half an hour. I told her that her store policy doesn't trump the LAW and that people with health conditions, where a mask would jeopardize them, are not required to wear them. She then stated that the law doesn't matter and only store policy does. I then asked if I could give them my card, while I leave the store, so they could checkout the products and bring everything out to me. She said they couldn't do that. The only other thing is that I order my stuff online and that could take them a half hour to an hour before delivering it to me at the back of the store for pickup, which doesn't make any sense considering I would have the online receipt instantly and my good are already together (a.k.a. manager intimidation). After a few minutes of discussion a mask was put on below the nose. I have spent several thousands of dollars in this store in years past and now Menards has completely LOST my business. I will be relaying to everyone I know about the horrible customer service this ONE manager gave and to urge everyone to go to Lowes or Home Depot instead, where their customer service is much better. The rest of the employees were fantastic but, unfortunately, the manager makes and breaks the business.
I'd been having trouble finding rigid foam plant protectors for cold weather & looked on the Fishers Menards website earlier today. It showed they had some in stock so I called the store to confirm. I spoke to Sumner in hardware who was very helpful - he initially couldn't locate them & rather than keep me waiting on the phone, he offered to continue looking & to email me with his results. A short time later I received an email from him saying he found them & put the 2 that I needed aside for me. I went to the store after dinner & purchased them. Sumner really went above & beyond in my opinion! I know this was a small thing, not a large purchase but he treated it with importance & I really appreciate that. Kudos also to Cody in hardware who retrieved them for me when I got there - these young men displayed excellent customer service & should be commended & recognized for their great attitudes & willingness to help. They are excellent employees - thank you!
Why is this chain stuck in the 20th century? Fees for online pickup in-store, so "save big money" goes out the window if I don't have time to go in. Home Depot gets that sale and it costs less. No online product rating/review system... BIG problem when comparing Menards-exclusive brands, so if I need reputable quality a buy a five-star product at HD. Snail-mail rebates that can't be used online, and paper rebate checks that are significantly less convenient than a plastic card... who has the time for this? Printing forms, licking stamps, driving to a USPS box just to get $2.50 back that can only be used in a physical store?? Seriously, what year is it? No other chain of this size has these hangups. I want to love this store but they make it so difficult for me to give them my money.
My favourite home improvement chain since 2000. My only complaint -- I wish it was closer. A great one-stop-shop experience for tools, building materials, food and pet supplies. And you can get a lot of mileage out of the cheap power tools from Tool Shop and Performax. As someone that has maintained a historic home for nealy 25 years, you can buy expensive brands and get disappointing performance or lifespan, or go cheap and get way more than your money's worth. I did some amazing restoration this year with a random orbit sander, palm sander, oscillating tool, and reciprocating saw (all $20 each) and a plunge router ($60) and bit set ($25). It's not the tool, it's how you use it. Thanks Menards.
Lumber Yard……how it operates is inconvenient. You have to first walk the yard if you don’t know what you want and its located all the way in the back outside of store, not a small area to walk either. Then you have to get a ticket and pay and then walk back to the front to get your vehicle and then drive around to pick up what you wanted. Employee didn’t tell me I had to pay first after getting my ticket. So when I got to the gate I had to go back in to pay and then get back in my vehicle and go back to the gate to get the lumber I wanted. I don’t understand why you can’t just pay at the gate.
I am a huge fan of this place. Absolutely great pricing and great selection. I was surprised at how much I fell in love with it. But I will tell you one thing they do not like it when you saying save big money at Menards the whole time you are shopping. They might be okay with it if you did it at a reasonable volume but they definitely do not like it when you sing really really loudly. But if you do do it make sure you know the whole song so you don't make a fool out of yourself
Great staff and customer service but store policies are sucks. If someone purchase a big order and product price is changed within 30 days like Home Depot and Lowes they will not match it. Menard has 14 days only. I purchase without rebates: according to them product has to return and then repurchase. Waste of time. They are still old school. Delivery service needs a lot of improvement but for small order this is best place to shop.
I like shopping at Menards, but I have been to this particular one twice in the last month and both times the cashier was rude. The first time the older woman wouldn’t even acknowledge us and she was talking to her coworker. The second time, the younger girl told my boyfriend, ‘looks like you don’t know how to bag’ after he had bagged our items as she scanned them. Sometimes you just need to keep your thoughts to yourself.
This particular trip was all items from the yard. I have to say they were the most exceptionally helpful staff I've ever encountered. I had not choice but to arrive shortly before closing, and instead of being resentful for keeping them late, they were helpful in locating all of my items, even went and picked them up from the other side of the yard and loaded them for me. Wonderful experience, and kudos to them!
I wish I'd known about this store before moving to Indiana. This place is way better than Home Depot or Lowe's. It's like they started as a hardware store and are slowly morphing into an everything retailer. I always find something cool in this store. The only downside is their throwback style jingle that plays every ten minutes or so definitely gets stuck in your head. "Save big money..."
Since COVID19 I have used there order pickup several times. Website easy to use and you get emailed receipt and any rebate receipts. Cannot use them to pull large items like lumber. You must npull your self but you can still avoid having to go through checkout with online ordering. I prefer most of their inventory and prices over the other big box home stores.
I go to this store quite often. It is my favorite home improvement store anywhere. It is laid out well, stocked well, and the employees are helpful. If you cannot find an employee when you need help, it is because they are busy elsewhere in the store. Just call their department number and get them to come and provide assistance when needed.
I came here for a specific item that I saw on the website as being in stock. It was in stock, but on the top shelf. I asked nearby employee for help, he was really friendly and got his manager who was also really friendly and immediately got the item down for me. The cashier was also super friendly and patient with us when we checked out.
Had the cabinet team design my entire kitchen. Took a long time for things to come in. Parts that came had issues and some were just wrong. Tried several times to get assistance and different representatives basically said sucks for you. Would not remodel through them again. Huge headache. Higher out it's better.
Great Service and Prices. Helpful Knowledgable Staff is a big plus, they must have good training. Store is always well organized and clean. As in any Big Box Store be sure the items you buy will still be available if you need to replace part of it later. Such as flooring , gutters and etc.
Day 60 finally Whirlpool replaced the broken Maytag Refrigerator. Menards did a great job locating the fridge at the Carmen store and having them ship to me to save precious time. Menards went the extra mile to shorten our long wait for a fridge that whirlpool took too long to replace.
I visited the store the Fishers Store and was blown away by the customer service from their employees. I’m honestly lost when it comes to home improvement but needed a new toilet and Michelle assisted every step of the way. Keep up the fantastic job guys! We’ll definitely be back.
This store has pretty much everything you need and what you would expect from a Menards. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful (picking up a pallet of garden stones was way easier than expected). No complaints so far (multiple purchases this year for home, garden and workshop)
Menards is always Great! However, even though they have a much better & larger lighting section, they didn't have the above kitchen sink light I needed. I had to go to Home Depot & they had exactly what I needed. Cashier was an absolute delight …
When I'm done reading my newspaper and doing my crossword, I like to fill out rebate forms, address envelopes and send them off to the rebate center in eager anticipation of my paper store credit. Have some respect for your customers' time, Menards!
It's a big box home improvement store with better prices than most others. They have very good sales and if you don't mind getting a store credit rebate then they're prices are even more attractive. A recent example is a headlamp I bought
Love how employees like Diane expect customers to know exactly where items are located.. has any retailer or business these days ever been to Publix or Chick fe la. Takes you right to product your looking for with Amazing customer service
was told on the way in i needed to have a mask in order to enter...then that the masks were available for 1$ (after i waited in a line). wouldn't be writing this negative review if the masks were being offered at cost, rather than for a
I can't say enough great things about this store! My husband and I are going through a basement finish and building a deck. Needless to say we are on a first name basis with most of the staff. The manager Julio has gone above and beyond
I ordered a Gravity smoker Char-Griller 980 for my husband as an early Father's Day gift. While it is a great product, it arrived missing two handles, and I have been fighting to resolve this for over a month. The manager, Nick Able,
I drive out of my way (past the Pendleton Pike location) for Castleton. It's fairly well stocked, and I usually can ask for help and get it so it's staffed properly. I haven't had a poor experience with their customer service yet I
My husband loves to go here and after going with so many time love to go too. So much to look at and they have more than just building or remodeling stuff. Many bargains. Cantwait for spring plants start coming in.
We love the store on 96th street... Neat, clean and well organized. We always go in for one or two things and wind our way through all the aisles and find so much more to buy. And the pricing is always affordable.
I had to get help at the customer service desk for a certain matter. The Cashier, AJ, was extremely helpful and friendly! My issue was quickly resolved, and I was in and out of the store in less than 10 minutes.
Just moved to this area and we didn't have Menards, just the other two box stores. Will be coming to Menards from now on. Loved the different selections of wood. Wood prices are much lower than they have been.
Stock numbers are way off. Time waste. Customer support staff at desk has no clue. Cannot cancel and refund pickup. Need proper training and stock management.
It was very nice. Store clean , neat, well stocked and well staffed. Both the other customers and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will be back.
So much of housing materials, better to go with rebets. Will take 30 days to claim rebets. It can be used to purchase products from Menards
Cashier was super nice! She helped me with my rebate Voucher. I go to her line every time. Will definitely be back
Yes! They all look the same! Always very consistently clean, friendly staff and easy to find what you need!
Like to lock their garden doors everytime I've been no matter the time of day. Ridiculous.
Had a better patio furniture than Home Depot.
My favorite store!
