Issue :--> installing long tube headers on my 97 Z28 Camaro. Status (before speaking to Mike):--> Critical, bc for nearly 3 days I was trying to find someone to install aftermarket headers (LT mind you NOT mid or shorty’s, but the looooong ones!) as soon as possible bc I had an appointment for my vehicle a few days later to have it dyno'ed (tuned), so they had to be on. Outcome :--> (FIRST OFF IT WAS SATURDAY!!!! NOT A WEEK DAY) When I called Mike's Auto I expected to talk to someone other than "Mike", but the man himself answered and, to my amazement, got me in that day within 20 min after calling! (***NOTE: LONG TUBE HEADERS ARE ONE OF THE HARDEST AUTO EXHAUST PIECES TO INSTALL ON ANY CAR-- LET ALONE 97 Z28 IS THE HARDEST CAR TO HAVE ANYTHING INSTALLED ON IT PERIOD-- HAVE TO REMOVE ENGINE JUST TO PUT SPARK PLUGS ON--- COME ON!!) First Impression:--> Nice local (13th ST/Indian School), looked very clean and professional (DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE CAR AT SOME WANNA BE AUTO SHOP, SO I MADE SURE TO CHECK IT OUT FIRST) so I felt relaxed leaving my baby in their hands (MIND YOU--> MY DAILY DRIVER, IT'S NEARLY 15 YEARS OLD, WITHIN IT CONTAINS A 6K DOLLAR CUSTOM SOUND SYSTEM [NO BACK SEATS- THAT'S HOW BIG], SO YEAH, I WORRIE JUST A LITTLE WHEN I DROP IT OFF SOMEWHERE I'VE NEVER BEEN BEFORE). During Installation :--> Mike called and kept me up to date on the progress of the installation, just to let me know what's up- (nothing serous [or anything I didn't already know...]). Next ************ this could have gone very bad or very good ********* he told me that he also replaced my spark plugs... I had to digest on that one for a sec. because we never spoke about doing that. It just so happened that I had my new spark plugs in my car that was going to be installed by another shop that next day, and initially I was IRATE, (I don’t let anybody touch my car, let alone do things to it that wasn't discussed with me first!!!!) but then became appreciative bc, the feeling one gets from meeting Mike, is that he is the type of guy that would do nothing to intentionally do anything bad to one or one's car. Even though we didn't discuss that procedure, had I been upset with that, I got a feeling he would have corrected it that second, also I realized HE SAVED ME $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ --> TO INSTALL SPARK PLUGS ON 97 Z28, THE ENGINE HAS TO REALLY COME OUT IN ORDER TO REACH PLUG #8 OR #1 I FORGET, BUT STILL AT $85 AN HR AND KILLING TWO BIRDS WITH ONE STONE IS WHAT I LIKE-- HE SAVED ME AN ADDITIONAL $340 BY PUTTING THEM IN WHILE THE ENGINE WAS OUT!!! **********CONCLUSION******************:--> Even though it took a while ( I kind of expected that) Mike (AND HIS CREW!!!!!) were top notch people, and are one of the best auto repair shops I have ever been to (I'VE BEEN TO A LOT OF AUTO PERFORMANCE/REPAIR SHOPS BC I LOVE TO RACE AND LOVE CARS). Had I not been pressed for time, I would have gone to my regular shop, ***BUT I'M GLAD I DIDN'T*** I highly recommend Mike's Auto Shop --------->Also, his prices are OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! I was expecting to pay nearly $200-$300 dollars more than what I actually paid!!! -- Nothing but 100% quality and professionalism from these guys! --Joe

This is a real life experience. The only reason they have a 1 star is because i couldnt give them a negative star. I had my car towed to this place and decided to allow them to work on my car since my car was already there. When I got there, they gave me a list of stuff wrong and of course they recommended the most expensive thing was the problem, which was the radiator. First they told me I needed my radiator replaced. I got my radiator replaced. Two days later my car starts smoking on the expressway. I called them to have my car towed again. I talk to them that day and We scheduled to have my car towed at 8:00 am. I show back up at 8 and they are not there. They did not even have my car scheduled for pick up the following day, so im waiting until 10:30 am for my car to get picked up. (He was very rude when I told him I was waiting, I think he is the owner but the person in the office) They picked my car up and tell me that a hose burst. Lets stop! my car has never had smoke coming from it. Even when the hot temperature light turn on and I was on the side of the road. So, this is very suspicious that all of a sudden a hose in my car is busted and my car is smoking. Then I allowed them to fixed both hoses. I go to pick my car up and they tell me that my air conditioner fan is not working. They tell me it would cause my car to run hot when it gets summer time in phoenix. He told me it would cost my 360$ to buy the fan assembly and labor because you cant just buy one fan, you have to replace the whole assembly. This was the second time, I picked my car up from this shop and they say something else is wrong with my car that was not a problem before I dropped it off. So at this point, Im thinking no im not bringing my car back to them. So I had another person looking at the fan situation. They went through the basics of a car and found that it was a blown fuse. A FREAKING BLOWN FUSE. We replaced the fuse and the fan worked. I dont understand what games they are playing on people at this shop but they neither are ripping people off or they are not real mechanics. How do you not check the fuse of car before you check anything. I wonder when they replaced the fan, and the fan still did not worked what else would they had came up with?? um, I would not recommend this place, especially if you are a women. I usually do not leave reviews but when the person replaced the fuse and the fan started working, I could not believe it. 360$ for a 5$ fuse. It is ridiculous. A ripped out. BTW they sell cars too, and I saw a for sale car in the parking lot that needed a boost off before the worker could move it to the back at closing. So i would not trust buying a car from them neither. They are terrible.

Dishonest and worst business practices. Tried to sell me on $1000 of unneeded repairs and took over 5 HOURS to tow my car 10 minutes away. This is the only time I have written a bad review on a company. My car broke down (bad area, raining, 100 degrees, with my 2yr old child), Central Towing came to pick it up. The driver recommended changing from the location recommended by my roadside assistance to Mike's Auto. I agreed. Later I learned Mike owns Central towing and uses the towing service to get business for his auto shop (which is not fair to other companies contracted with my roadside, but not my biggest issue). My issue is that Mike quoted me at $1200-$1400 for repairs. He gave me the whole nice guy "Im one of the fairest in the valley" speech. I had a gut instinct this wasnt right and requested my car be towed to my typical mechanic. Mike asked I put in the request the next morning for the tow, which I did through my roadside assistance again, and said to call after 8am to pay a $90 diagnostic fee (a bit high if you ask me). Unfortunately, Central towing (Mikes company) got the job again. I called at 8:15am the following day to pay the fee, but the receptionist said Mike had not prepared my invoice and she could not take my payment. They would not let me pay until Mike got in or release my car to tow until it was paid. Two hours later (and two hours after my request to tow), I called back and Mike answered, and I paid the fee. My car had still not left and he said it would be leaving in a few minutes. Central towing and Mikes Auto are the same address, his tow trucks are at the same address as my car. My mechanic is ten minutes away. My car did not arrive there for over 5 hours. THE WORST PART is after MIke's $1200-$1400 quote, my mechanic repaired my car for $360. He told me Mike's auto was not truthful about the needed repairs and they lied to me. They tried to get an extra $1000 over what was actually needed. So, Mike either needs to get a conscience or some mechanics who know what they are doing.

I was referred to mikes auto by a good friend of mine. When I took my wife's car to his shop for some repairs. I was satisfied with the service I received. Which lead me to take my car to his shop. Again I was satisfied with the service i received and was ensured by mike that his father was the best in the business. His shop was a family owned shop which he purchased from his father. All this lead me to trust in his auto mechanics and his service. One month and a half later I start having problems with my gears shifting in the transmission I could not go more than 15-20 mph. I contacted mike regarding the issue, being that the work he did was to repair my transmission initially. Mike sent a tow truck to pick my car up and take it to the shop. When i contacted mike regarding what was the problem, He informed me that he did fix a seal on the transmission tho it was my engine knocking in the lower half which is causing the issue I was having. Mike sent another tow truck to drop off my car which I paid $50.00. Shortly there after I purchased a engine and was having the same issue. Again I contacted mike and advised him of the problem. A tow truck came from his shop to pick up my car once again. I was not informed of what was going on with my car until the second week it was there. I was informed several times that the car will be "done", when I contacted mike on the date he said the car will be done, he stated it meant put together not done. I have missed my children's activities due to not having my car. I have not received good customer service being that my car is difficult to fix and many issues involving the shop such as wrong part delivered, personnel issues, and just not making my issue a priority rather than a nightmare. I feel I have been flexible and understanding with the issues tho I feel I have not received proper customer care service. I just feel like Jim Carey in Liar Liar when his car gets towed, and they tell him to take it up the rear.

I had just purchased an 82 corvette as an investment. All though the first time it was on the road it overheated. I drove my car to the closes shop to find the problem. It was a water pump and they wanted to over charge. So I called mike who had worked on an 07 impala for me 2years before. They picked it up and said they were even sending a special truck, because my car has a body kit on it. The repair took longer then expected and when I picked up my car my body kit was cracked and hanging and scratches like the hooked a chain to it. I immediately called them and they tried to blame the shop they picked it up from, who had not moved the car from were I parked it. next day the belts they removed when they put on the water pump came off and got ripped up in engine. So they had to take the car again to repair their mistake. on this repair they also damaged my corvette seat covers. After I got the car back and took it to Sands where mike told me to take it. He tried fighting with me on not wanting to pay for the repair because of previous road rash(slight scratches on the bottom/under the bumper) I now and in the process of taking them to court. I would never use them again and would discourage anyone from going their. They don't take responsibility when they cause damage and they don't repair things right the first time. When I was their 2 years ago it was a father son owned place, im not sure if the father left and mike turned it into a shady half-done place.

Dishonest and Absolute Crooks My car broke down and Central Towing came to pick me up. He said the my problem was minor and could be fixed by the end of the day at Mike's auto repair. The repair was not done until the next day and I received my bill. After doing some research, calling where the place they receive their parts from, I discovered that they had increased the cost of parts from what they actually cost at NAPA by around 30-50%. They also charged me $70 for a twenty minutes of labor. Two days later there's a rattling noise where the repair had been done and that the car was now overheating. Since I had a warranty I called. I explained this to the receptionist and brought in the car. They said that they didn't hear any rattling noise and charged me $85 for a diagnostic fee because I had mentioned the car was overheating and they had checked my fan without informing me that there would be a charge for this. I received the quote concerning the fan and then went to two other places that offered quotes that were less than HALF what my quote was. This place is a rip-off in the worst sort of way. Just because they offer a free ride doesn't mean that they won't try and gouge you for every penny. I ended up losing almost $300 dollars for a simple repair in the end that still isn't fixed and was quoted double what a reputable auto-shop would charge for another simple repair. Central Towing and Mike's Auto Care are a scam that will bleed you for every penny

Horrible service!!! Not honest one bit!! Went to have a turbo replaced and specifically stated I wanted every single use bolt replaced (witch if pay for of course.) He charged me for them saying he used all new bolts.... He said it would be done the next day but when I went at the scheduled time he said I'd have to be out of a car another TWO days. It was scheduled to be done Monday when I took it in on Friday....I didn't get a call back until WEDNESDAY...Once I received my car Everything was fine until I went to install my down pipe and noticed he DID NOT replace the bolts. It snapped the moment I went to remove the stock bolts he had reused. I immediately messaged him asking why he didn't use all new bolts even though he charged me and told me he used new ones. He suddenly got very rude and offensive when I brought it up to his attention. He stated that he should of charged me more for the work he did and told me I was lucky I got a "good deal". I'd recommend GO ELSEWHERE!! He will try to tell you some bs if you don't know anything about cars. I have a friend that also had a very bad experience so it's not just me. HES A LIER AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE A QUICK BUCK, HALF A*$ WORK AND CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Horrible experience. Detour from this place.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Mike's Auto is a scamming fraudulent & conniving business. These guys take advantage of anybody and everybody. They make it sound like a great deal to have a free tow from anywhere to their shop. Promise to match same price as quoted by another mechanic, but in actuality, they just want your money. After having a fuel pump and fuel filter replaced, we noticed a gas-like smell coming from somewhere. "Check Fuel Cap" light came on two days after repairs and drove immediately to Mike's. After nearly four hours of waiting, Mike estimated that we needed a new fuel pump and several other issues. How is it that they replaced the fuel pump two days ago and are saying we need a new one already? DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! SIDENOTE: Upon entering the shop, Mike was inaudible when he attempted to explain the issues with our car. The vibe there is as if they know they are up to something shady and they obviously do not do the work they promise... or they do a crap job. I strongly advise going with Granite Reef Auto Service in Scottsdale. It's another Mike but he's much more capable of fixing what's wrong with your car. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!

I have a couple of friends that recommended Mikes Auto Repair to me. I called and it was Mike I talked to. Told him my problem with my driveshaft on my 07 tacoma truck. It was vibrating really bad. Mike gave me a quote and I took my truck there. Immendiately Mike had my driveshaft off and showed me one of the universal joints, it was almost broken in half, plus the end of the shaft was broken. Mike changed all my universal joints, had the driveshaft balanced, the broken end of the shaft replaced and installed within 24 hours and the price was very reasonable. What others quoted me plus take 2-3 days, Mike got it done sooner and was cheaper than what he origninally quoted me. If I need a major repair done, I will definitly take my truck to Mikes Auto Repair. Mike also provided me a ride to Enterprise to rent a vehicle. Mike takes care of his customers. THANKS Mike..

This place, like other places in Napa, are not honest, they steal you from the pieces that they put on, they use quality pieces, but the prices are very high, those that you get in the workshop do not match the prices of the store, they give you a higher price more than it costs in the store for example if in the store a starter motor is worth $ 259.00 + taxes for your car in the workshop they give another price almost double they rob you in the price of the parts but they charge you too much for the hand Of course, they tell you the budget that will cost you the repair and they respect it but they have already stolen the prices in the parts that your car needs, that's why I say they are not honest and they steal with the client so if you want them to steal take your car there and if not, never take it there

DISHONEST mechanics alert!! Took my car into Mikes 3 different times for the SAME issue and all 3 times they were “certain” of what it needed and after $1,500 spent and multiple new parts, it still has the SAME problem as well as a few others now!! Seriously? I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. This is now my only recourse in hopes to save someone else from what I had to learn the hard way. I also found out with minimal effort that products that were used to “help” the cars issue were actually terrible and could potentially cause more damage to my engine! Do they even look into the products they are using on peoples vehicles?? PLEASE save yourself the hassle and money. There are plenty of other mechanics out there!!

I just transferred from Southern California and I had problems with my cooling system. I had taken my vehicle to the dealership in Temecula Ca in which I thought they had fixed the problem. After charging me an arm and leg I thought they had did a good job. After residing here for almost a year the same problem happen again. I did not want to take it to the dealership again so I had asked if there were any good shop around here in Phoenix. I was directed to Mikes Auto. Let me tell you, they fixed the problem right away and they did not keep my vehicle for days as did the dealership. They did a great job and never had a problem since then. I recommend to have your vehicle serviced there. I'll never to go another shop again.

Mikes auto is the best mechanic I have ever been to explains everything very clearly and understanding keeps everything professional, will explain every that needs fixing on or in the vehicle and pricing of each repair if some new repairs come up he calls to notify and tells how much important it might or needed to repair, mike will also work with you on payment due to whatever the situation is, owns his own tow company so if you can’t get to him he will surely come get the vehicle and make sure it is repaired in working conditions I have been going to mike since 2013 and every vehicle I owned has been fixed and properly working by mikes auto. Best mechanic ever.

I've been to Mike's a few times now. Each time he has been very helpful and I felt I was getting a good deal. Some of the repairs I needed were complicated and needed to go to the dealer for a warranty (which he found for me!) or something they could only do with their equipment and Mike handled it all for me. He picks you up and drops you off at home when you don't have a ride and provides you with all the research on why your car isn't working and how it's a known problem. It's some of the best service I've had from not just a mechanic but any kind of service business. I hope I won't need to go to him again, but he will have my business if I need more work.

We all hate a trip to the Mechanic, maybe more than a trip to the dentist’s office. After receiving a recommendation, and reviewing Mike’s Auto online, I decided to give it a whirl. Mike used his education and experience to diagnose the problem. He drilled down to the least expensive fix, made that repair, and ran another diagnostic test (the Auto Zone one was way off). He found that there was no need to repair the expensive items downstream of the actual problem, and DIDN’T make those repairs! My suspicion is that Mechanics with less integrity would have replaced all of the parts in the system, whether they needed to be replaced, or not. Go see honest Mike!

These guys are honestly the absolute best. They're everything you could ask out of an auto shop, they're honest with you about everything going on while diagnosing your car and they check in at every step of the way. I've never felt like they were trying to throw in repairs that were unreasonable, they're very straight to the point with what's wrong and your options for fixing it. On top of that they're stand up guys, Mike will do what he can to help you out and they really do have some of the best customer service I've ever had at a shop. Overall the best mechanic I've been too and I'll continue to visit these guys so long as I got my car.

I stumbled across this place about a year and a half ago when my car actually broke down very close to there, and I'm certainly glad I found them. Mike is super knowledgeable, and they do quick good work at a fair price. I have an older car that I'm trying to limp along for another few years, and I've been in a couple times since then as well, and both times I had the car back the same day. The most recent time he had to read some fairly complicated codes out of the car to figure out what the problem was, but he still had it all squared away and fixed by mid-afternoon. Great place!

Mike is honest, reliable and has expert knowledge in his field. I trust him and his crew and won't ever look elsewhere for help with fixing any vehicle I'll ever own. Ever since I had my fuel pump replaced for $300 bucks less than what another shop in the area quoted me, I will only bring my car to Mike's Auto Repair. Most recently, my car's AC was fixed and it passed the emissions test, too! I took my bmw that I just got to his shop. I have been taking my vehicles to Mike's Auto for the past 10 years and not once have I had an issue with them. I have sent my wife to have her vehicle serviced and she always says she was treated with respect and courtesy. I have used other repair shops all over Phoenix and have heard the scare tactics in order to sell you the repair. I am not Family, Just a loyal customer who is treated like family. I took my 07 Chevy Impala over there figure out the problem couple buddies told me it was my fuel pump but that wasn't the issue I took it there and they figure out my engine cracked a piston broke he didn't charge me nothing just to look at it he gave me a great deal on replacing my motor and it came with warranty so I recommend this place and also I talked to Mike and he's a funny guy too we had a good time when I was there so now if I ever have a problem now I take it to Mikes

I had went through a couple different shops who said I had a Racket and Pinion problem and I decided to get another opinion from Mike as my car is too new for that kind of problem and he found out that it wasn't that at all, it was just a Wheel Bearing and only cost me 1/3 of the price. Great shop and very honest! They are straight with you and are always willing to help. Definitely will be taking my car back if I ever have any other problems. I highly recommend them!

Mike has been my mechanic for almost 10 years. I have referred so many people to his shop, I've stopped counting. That's the best endorsement a person can give in my opinion -sending friends and family to someone they trust. He is honest and never tries to "up-sell" something you don't need -which is rare his line of business. Mike's mechanics are knowledgeable and trustworthy -many of them are family members. I highly recommend this shop.

Mike, the owner of Mike's Auto Repair is as honest as they come. I have trusted Mike for nearly 3 years and although he being a family man is there to make a profit, yet he'll treat you fairly and save you as much money as possible. Was here years ago. Mike said they could fix the fuel pump for 500 so I jumped at the chance being so broke. Little did I know everytime I made a right turn gasoline would go flying out of the car! Thank God someone on the road got my attention and informed me I was spraying gasoline everywhere. And thank God no one threw out a lit cigarette! So ended up spending twice as much getting it fixed right. Avoid this place like the plague.

Mike was recommended to me from a friend and just in time! Late that night I used his towing service because my radiator was smoking. Not only was he prompt and diligent when I called, they towed my truck and took care of the issue first thing in the morning. I have never had such a great experience at any repair shop. I will absolutely refer him to anyone I know and will be forever grateful for him and his team

Had amazing service here. I was driving around and suddenly found myself with a flat tire. I pulled into Mike's shop and they quickly helped me put my spare on even though they don't typically replace tires. They even did a once over and told me about other things to watch for. They're amazing! I'll definitely be coming back for future service.

Had to get a right front strut rebuilt and owning a bmw no one wanted to help me out, he was like the 9th shop I called because no one in Tucson wanted to help me out! Mike was straight up with a estimate and was finished building my strut for me in less than 30 mins! Definitely will go to him from now on! Even if he is an hour and a half away

Great mechanic shop!! I would definitely recommend to all the woman out there worried about getting taken advantage by a mechanic shop. This is not that place. They are very honest about the vehicle and the work that actually needs to be done. I'm very happy with the work they've done so far and will continue to take my vehicle here.

The service is so poor here. Trying to get my paperwork for my insurance is like a nightmare. They tell you they'll send it, and after I contacted them 5 times still no paperwork. Now I call and it says mailbox full at 9am. He advertises 15% off, but just hikes up the bill if you ask for it. I would not recommend this rip off place.

Mike and his crew are so above and beyond all of my expectations! They have saved me countless dollars, terrible headaches and so much time. I've dropped by without an appt most visits and they have always taken my car in. He's honest and frank, fast and thorough. And my old car runs like new! Thanks again for all you do!! So happy

He towed my moms car to his shop and then he fixed her SUV. They did not over charge her and got the problem fixed. She had taken the vehicvle to a different shop and they did not help and the problem was still happening with the cadilac converter. Awesome service and I would highly recommend their service to anyone.

I showed up at 8:00am and doors were not opened until after 8:05am as well as Mike being approximately 30+ minutes late resulting in leaving my vehicle (another employee said to leave the car). Mike called at 11:00am stating that they would not put the car on the lift due to it being too low. Waste of my time.

This is the only mechanic I ever go to and that is saying much. I get a lot of slack for being a woman in any auto shop, but that's not the case with Mike. He treats you fair, informs you of any issues, and does really great work. He has always taken care of my cars and the only mechanic I will ever trust.

I have been using Mike's Auto for 5 years. Mike's Auto has always done an outstanding job and has very reasonable pricing. Wonderful experience!!! Being a female with little to non knowledge when it comes to cars many mechanic's like to take advantage and just make a extra dollar off of you but not here Mike and his crew are honest, experienced and reasonable. Will definitely be my new mechanic shop to go to!

I’ve been going here for several years and then Mike changed big time. He lied and over charged. I will never be going back and do not recommend going there. I am all about family business that’s why I went there but he didn’t take me serious and didn’t appreciate my business at all.

WORSE Repair Shop in Town ,The Mechanic don't have a clue of what they are doing I deal with Mike after His Mechanic destroy my Wife Car Throttle Assyst .After He Give Me his word that He would pay for a new one .He back up .Man that doesn't stand His OWN Word is Wordless .

Great service. I've taken two cars there and both times they got me in and out the same day and didn't charge me anything over what was quoted. They even stayed late on a Saturday so I could pick my car up instead of having to wait until a Monday.
