(Update Oct 2022 - Case is back with VCAT) (Update, I note the owner has put up a response advising VCAT has dropped the claim based on not providing enough information. This is incorrect as they advised an application must go through the Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria first and then if unresolved will return to VCAT. VCAT for some reason determined Moody Roofings services as domestic building work in the initial assessment.) (Original Post) I had a very bad and unfortunate experience with Moody Roofing. I am currently awaiting VCAT and Building disputes for court date. He was engaged to complete a full roof restoration and did not complete what he quoted and was engaged to do. After providing several opportunities to remedy the situation, he still did not fix or finish the work. He also cancelled on several occasions costing me time and making me take leave from work. He ended up finally coming a few times, but he made it difficult to get him to fix anything as he never admit to the mistakes and each time kept saying he fixed it. As I could not go onto the roof because he said he will void his warranty I was at his mercy and kept accepting his word each time he said he 'fixed' it. In the end after around six months of regularly, daily or weekly communications I had to pay independant roofers to complete an inspection and formally record. Even after providing him evidence, he is still in denial. Due to his lack of work and delay, he has caused me more damage and costs. Also as he did not complete the work to code according to the independant inspectors, it will now cost me more money to fix the mistakes he did. Will provide update once the case has gone through the courts.

I hired Jamie as a subcontractor to do a roof repair in Werribee.All he had to do was replace about 6 broken tiles and repoint a ridge.Something that should have taken him 2 hours took him 3 days always coming up with an excuse as to why he couldn’t finish the job or why he couldn’t come.He insisted the owner pay him directly saying that he needed money for materials but always failing to turn up the following day with the owner ringing me constantly and me having to chase Jamie to finish the job .Im still waiting to be paid for the job 2 weeks later with Jamie ignoring my phone calls.I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone and baffled how he still operates.He does jobs and when there is an issue he puts the blame on others leaving homeowners having to chase him through vcat at their own expense leaving them more out of pocket as he has no assets from which they can be compensated for (just have a read at some of his other reviews where customers have gone to vcat with him)I gave Jamie the benefit of the doubt on a couple of occasions giving him a bit of work here and there after he rang me a couple of times asking if I had any extra work as he was quite but with every job he done there was an issue which I had to rectify costing me money and time.Don’t waste your money or time as it will cost you more in the long term and don’t give him any money up front as you will end up having to chase him up daily and phone calls won’t be answered and if he does answer he will come up with an excuse as to why he can’t make it

The guys were great, quick response for a quote and were able to make the repairs on the same day. Highly recommend! What I hadn't mentioned in my above review is that when the guys came past they were here for a good few hours until the light was failing. Jamie came and spoke to me, telling me the pointing was "90% done" but they were running out of light and needed to come back. Jamie asked me to pay the bill, even though the job wasn't finished, he said "I'll just ask for $750, to keep me honest" and I was to pay the remaining $100 when he came back. Jamie rescheduled twice, then asked for the remaining $100 to cover the remaining materials. I took this as reassurance that he would finally be coming to finish the job. After multiple failed attempts at rescheduling and no shows, it's clear to me that I'll never have my roof finished by Moody's Roofing. If I had the opportunity to make the choice again, I'd never use them.

definitely would not recommend this business work was not completed to industry standard had his dodgy contractor paint the roof without applying primer put one coat of paint on removed a piece of capping and placed some broken tiles over it and called it a day spoke with Jamie about rectifying the issues been over 15 months now had about 25 different dates booked to redo the roof with each day come a new excuse as to why he couldn't come out finally agrees to it and changes his mind again and wanted to get another contractor out to witch I still haven't heard anything from hasn't replied to my last few messages or phone calls would not recommend this business to anyone

I have used this company twice now as I believe Jamie truly takes a lot of pride in his work and looks after his customers. First time round he repaired a leaky roof and checked over the rest of my roof at a very affordable price. 6 months later and not a drop of rain has gotten through. Today he was back for a different job, I recently had some rats get through a gap between some tiles and make a lot of noise in my ceiling. Whilst the rats were professionally removed by another company, I gave Jamie a call to inspect my roof again and he was here within 2 hours and found a number of potential entry points which he sealed up. Reliable and friendly as always.

Avoid this roofer, I paid deposit two month ago, he still didn’t get the work done, and no invoice. He is good at lying, find excuses and never show up. No receipt, I have asked for a lot of time. He always telling me send to me ASAP. I was mad after losing patient and tell him don’t have to come. I am currently go through VCAT with him. Same with other comments in here, he is denied worked for me, screenshot his comments as an evidence for VCAT. He made a lot of fake reviews here e.g. megan patterson. 1 star for 3 roofers nearby, 5 stars for himself, this guy is so bad

Awesome team at moodys roofing could not be more happy I called Jamie the owner off the company on a Monday night it was raining but there was water coming throw the ceiling Jamie came charged a fair call out fee he stop the water with a tarp came back quoted to fix the job the next day he took call out fee out of the quote to fix the job witch was awesome then fixed the problem we will be using him again awesome service could not be happier with Jamie and moodys roofing

jamie and the team at moodys roofing were fantastic my roof was leaking so i called moodys roofing jamie came out straight away gave me awesome advise he fixed the leek and did a roof inspection we decided to get a re-bed and point done we paid a small deposit it took two days i could not be more impressed so happy could not fault jamie or moodys roofing in anyway so happy would recommend jamie and his company u will not be sorry

Jamie answered our call the first time during Saturday evening and organised to come see us to provide a quote the next day. He was prompt in replying to messages of any queries I had and upon arrival and providing a quote, offered to complete the work then and there. Called him for the roof leak problem and he came on Sunday as he was very eager to come. However, the roof is still leaking. In fact, the leak has gotten bigger. Also I asked him to provide me the reciept for more than three times but he never emailed it to me. How can you trust a business who wouldn't even provide you the receipt? I will just use someone who is more professional and legit.

I discovered a leak in my roof during a rainy day. I called Moody's Roofing and Jamie was very helpful. He promptly attended the issue and visited my home to inspect the problem. I was very impressed that he came during the night. I was very happy he fixed the issue very quickly. I won't hesitate to contact him again to request for his assistance. Thank you very much.

Jamie and his offsider sorted out the problem of the staining under the eaves at the front of the house by removing a full line of rooftiles and clearing out a whole heap of leaves and then re laying the line of tiles. This task was completed expeditiously and ar a fair cost. For any future problems I would not hesitate to call Moody's Roofing. Many Thanks

Jamie did a grate job could not be happier grate advice he's very passionate about his work every step from start to finish came up fantastic and the final coat off paint really made a roof look like new once it had dried beautiful an even coats of paint so if your thinking of getting Ur roof done call Moody's roofing U won't be disappointed

Moody’s roofing Jamie in and gave a quotation as soon as we requested. The price is very reasonable. Did a fantastic job in cleaning the roof, repairing and painting. Also cleaned the gutters and painted them. Jamie was very responsive , efficient and professional in doing the job. Totally satisfied with the job.

Laser lite roofing for shed showed damage after recent high winds. Jamie was quick to respond, coming to inspect and quote the job. Later the same day the roof was fully repaired! Wonderful work. I'm very happy with the entire experience.
