They over work the deli workers but dont pay them enough and the store manager manny is a sexus . He is the reason behind me leaving the store hes very unprofessional and demanding since the day i started he stared me up and down with a disgusted look upon his face then tossed me over to julio deli manager that same day yelled at me for having a shopping cart full of salads i was told to do located with in the deli now may i remind you it was my first day rules and regulations were not layed out to me. The second day around he yells at me for having a shopping cart full of salads out side of the deli and demanded i wear a hair net under my hat i complied . Basically everyday he got on my case one day i came in late due to being sick because i couldnt call out because i was on my 90 day probation so he got on my case about that then attacked me about wearing my gloves out of the deli station then went to the deli station where i was and yelled at me sayong dont touch nothing behind the deli counter with out glove s and i must leave my jacket behind the counter if i am stepping out or going to the rest room now let me tell you the fellas were doing everything he told me not to do but he was cool with it.that same day before i left my husband and son came to scoop me up from work he pulled me to the side and said my family is not allowed in the store. The following day i was really sick again i had a very bad stomach virus due to the food i ate from there salad bar . But i was about a half hour late and seen him standing by the deli i turned around and left crying because i got tierd of being harassed for something i had no fault of he bullied and taunt me and felt hurt by all means this worst job experience i ever had and hes by far thr worst manager i ever met he treats his employees like modern day slaves while he just lolly gags around the store eating free food . Very bad experience something must be done .

Worst supermarket I ever entered. Too much racisim From the Cashiers I was entering early morning With my coworkers I notice too much racisim ! These Spanish ladies cashiers were critizing another cashier from speaking spanish while all of them were bullying her and telling her not to speaking in spanish ! What I believe We live in New York City United States of America!!! We are all allowed to speak any language!! These store should be rehired and built with equal former English and Spanish employees because I speak Spanish I put my self in this position Im Colombian born in new york and Im white and what I notice is that people of color were attacking the cashier just because shes white latino by speaking foul language and bullying her ! I believe New York Should be United and The Management should equalize and rehire employees because this is not one nation store this for all community there should not be racism happening in the United States!

They have a male employee who stole my wife's bank card metro card and ebt the manager Manny did nothing about it all he did was say that the deli worker Ed who stole from my wife didn't do it cause he has a gold chain n a gold bracelet. While rumors are being spread through out the store that he has been planning on doing stealing from my wife and smacking her nothing was done to him he still has his job. My wife not having means to get to work and feeling scared about going to work and being assaulted by a male by a male she was terminated. The management at this location is not only a sexest he is a racist if you are not from the Dominican Republic you as a employee will be treated unfairly. The manager Manny should be terminated as well as the deli employee Ed both should not be allowed to work for the store or the company they should both be ashamed of them selves for their actions and for how they treat coworkers.

Staff here is friendly and helpful from the stockers to the cashiers. There is a selection of low-carb pastas, flours (e.g. almond), and tortillas which are typically hard to come by. Store is kept clean, organized, and is open late which is convenient for those who get off work at odd hours. One important thing to note, however, is that items frequently have no price tags and that the shelf tag is also missing. Also shout out to Ast. Mgr. Carlos who "been here since 1992" for being SO HELPFUL at the meat counter and getting me a porterhouse at THE EXACT PRICE IT WAS ADVERTISED AT. Good thing you didn't have to go on an EGO TRIP and "FIRE ANYONE" actually doing their job! Thankfully you are so knowledgeable of your store policies after 17 years of experience. As a loyal customer of only 3 years I look forward to many more where I am fortunate enough to receive your assistance again ♥️

I bought a pack of what “looked-like fresh” of Sterling sirloin ground meat a couple of days ago. When I reached home, I was surprised to find out that the middle of the packed meat had brown meat in it. I presumed those were old meat topped with freshly ground meat? I returned the meat without question. Maybe, this was not the 1st time that it happened. I wasn’t able to talk to the manager to air my complaint. I was about to cook meatballs that night but, the incident made me lost appetite. So, I went to Costco the following day, where I bought a ground meat without an old brown ground meat in the middle. For me, Costco had never failed the expectation of selling quality merchandise esp meat.

As far as Morton Williams supermarkets go, this one I think is pretty good, I only wish that they would roast their chickens just a teeny bit longer to give them the crispy textured skin like the roasted chickens over at the Morton Williams on third Avenue between 63rd and 64th. I very much like that they are open until midnight. I do wish that they would keep their Häagen-Dazs pints of ice cream better organized…. They carry something like 20 or 30 flavors of Häagen-Dazs and, yes, my favorite flavor is usually somewhere inside the freezer but rather often it is hidden behind other flavors; at times it is even randomly hidden way in the back in the jumble of mixed up Häagen-Dazs flavors.

Sometimes, whenever something pops up traversing the streets of the City you're bound to run across the most common places everybody knows to shop for their groceries. Now, in circumspect Morton William's had probably been around longer than all my years in my livelihood living in the Boroughs outside of Manhattan. But, this is really quite a well lit, modern, gourmet upscale classical NYC supermarket ! And chockful of great staples one would appreciate at any price range. Again, it's not the typical Food Baxaar found everywhere else but here. And everyone had favorites. To me it's just a great way to shop for groceries on the upper Eastside. Honestly wonderfully convenient.

I am currently visiting Manhattan and was told that I have to go grocery shopping at Morton Williams. Everything was great with the exception of check out. Elizabeth in aisle 4 was not polite at all starting with where to put our cart. Then she proceeded to be rude about bagging, she grabbed the bags from my daughter and said that we weren't doing anything, and holding up the line. We did not make any remarks to her that would prompt her to act the way she did. I am sorry for Elizabeth in aisle 4 who obviously so dislikes her job. Granted people need jobs, but I think you will loose customers with her unfriendly, unprofessional behavior.

FRAUD!!! Be aware and check your receipt! They sold bottle of Gatorade for $14. although it only $1.99 on shelf. When tried to solve got disrespectful and disgusting attitude. Cashier said it price for big pack and she tried to convince me that it’s ok to sell bottle for price of big pack‍♂️ blame me for English skills, but problem with dishonest and disrespectful people who tried to make you fool. Not English. If you see one bottle but charge for pack and it’s ok for you then you M0R0N! I won't even talk about overpriced. You better go some blocks to trader joe and get good attitude and mood for the whole day.

Quality has gotten so terrible I had to stop buying produce here. Most recently bought rosemary which was actually black and liquid in the bottom of the container, hidden behind the label. How long must that rosemary have been left to sit and rot to end up in that state? Bought fresh pasta that turned out to be all mold in the center when I got it home. There are better options nearby with higher quality at the same or even lower prices. No need to tolerate such low standards.

Shelf showed Pete and Gerry’s brown eggs- 2 for $6. At register they tried to charge me almost twenty dollars. Had to wait twenty minutes for a manager to do a price check. While waiting in line saw three other customers complain about what they were being charged vs what was shown on the shelf. When the manager finally returned, she offered to reduce price to 10 but not the 6 shown as list price. I told her I would never shop at such a store again.

Week ago bought ready-made salad and it was totally rotten in the middle. Two days ago bought sourdough bread and turnout green in the middle. But, this time took the bread back to store, was told tht see tht manager but her approach, deminer, and questioning attitude was so offensive that I could not stand a second longer. Been shopping here for a long while but bleive me their customer service in this case was pretty bad...

I wouldn't work there.... they have to learn how to trained better... n be more professional... sometimes its take ppl longer to grasp things. They rush alot of things u have to take it time with things that how u make a mistake.... the manager and 2 of the supervisors they need to be trained again . On how to talk to ppl... its not what u say it how u say it.... I wouldn't recommend no one to work at that store at all...

  • George Rosetta

Really great neighbourhood supermarket... it has pretty much anything you need with a positively delightful addition of lots of European brands and treats.... checkout the German cookies and French treats near the front of the store before you get to the checkouts. Service is fine but not spectacular... but it doesn't need to be because the store itself and it's selection is why you want to come here.

  • noella ansaldi

Store is tidy and organized, but the cashiers have no customer service skills. I asked for something and I over heard a discussion with a supervisor, maybe the management doesn't care about satisfying their customers I thought. Adding that, the prices aren't persuasive enough for me to consider going back there again. Other markets in the area are better, I'd rather give my money to those who care.

In general I love Morton Williams for their diverse selection of goods, especially produce and international products. This one is somewhat smaller than the one I usually go to on 49th & 2nd and closes as opposed to staying open 24/7, hence the four stars instead of five. However I have noticed that they sometimes have slightly cheaper pricing on certain goods, which is nice.

  • Maya Gorokhova

Morton's prices are higher for the same products comparing to whole foods. And what shocked me today they raised then even more. It was one price on the shelf, different peice on the product and third price at the register! Shame! Greediness is the main virus. This is not the time to do this. Stuff is nice, variety is good but greediness of the owners very disappointing.

  • Eugenia Kim

The staff are so friendly and helpful. But the people going to shop are inconsiderate. Not to sound mean but some people come in take their time picking out the produce, and especially touch everything and then put it back. This is covid time. Please look at what you are trying to buy, pick the item and put it in your basket. Stop touching everything. So disgusting!

  • John-Joseph Jackson

Consistently overpriced, even for area, which has higher than normal NYC prices for nearly every item. Produce is expensive and poor quality, which is made especially apparent by the fruit/veggie vendor set-up directly in front of the store who has much better prices and quality across the board. If you enjoy wasting your time and money, this is the place.

  • Paul Grainger

Excellent selection and probably the best and cleanest general supermarket in the area. When you need stuff that Whole Foods doesn't have then this is easily the best choice by far. It's.not 24 hours though, but it is open until midnight which is pretty good. And the quality of the deli is very nice, especially prepared foods and desserts.

  • Christina Reed

The WORST grocery store in the area. I’ve bought Fairlife milk here 3 times (which has extremely long expiration dates since it’s ultra pasteurized), and every single time it goes bad way before the expiration date. Same thing with the half and half I bought. This grocery store obviously has a huge refrigeration issue… NEVER SHOP HERE.

  • valerie Jackson

Horrible place to buy from deli/ bakery. Nasty manager( joseph) of deli dept. Screams at u. Store manager is of no help( carlos martinez) and worker ( Mario) disrespectful. Happened 2x. Will never go back again. Maybe because I'm a black female. Manager ran away twice. Left me with screaming, obnoxious deli worker. Thanks m.w.

  • Paul Staniford

Really love this supermarket.... always well stocked and has just about anything you need. I grew up with one of those huge suburban supermarkets and I have to say that anything I've ever wanted I can still find here, and it must be a third the size. Great hours, open late, and friendly service too.

  • Jennifer Fevold

This location is your typical nyc supermarket. It's cramped, so it's best to try and go during off times. They have a nice cheese and fresh deli section. The staff is kind of rude. Last time I was there I asked an employee to help me get something off the top shelf and he literally told me no.

  • Gayan Sampath

Sunday, March 17 2019 I went to this place for grocery items, Very good grocery / convenience store in mid town. Loads of choices reasonable ( for mid town ) prices. Easy one stop shop for most daily needs. Got food bar was fresh and quality. Bakery was diverse and tasty. Easy in and out.

  • Lori L

One of the best grocery chains in Manhattan. Called for their price on blueberries and they told me! Usually get my fruit on the street but the blueberries haven't been good this year and I knew a grocery store wouldn't sell furry fruit. They are on sale this week so I was in luck!

  • Clarice Johnson

NO prices label on some items. ASK A QUESTION .THEY GIVE RUN AROUND . ALSO SPANISH WORKERS RUDE INCLUDE MANAGER. IF HAVE SOMETHING ON SALE PUT SIGN UP .SOMETIMES CUSTOMERS DONT KNOW NO IF ON SALE OR NOT .YOU HAVE GO CASHIER TO FIND OUT .THEY GET ATTIDUDE WITH CUSTOMERS.

Very good grocery / convenience store in mid town. Loads of choices reasonable ( for mid town ) prices. Easy one stop shop for most daily needs. Got food bar was fresh and quality. Bakery was diverse and tasty. Easy in and out.

  • JA H

Overpriced and limited but the best option in the neighborhood. It is too small to carry a full range of items but it is clean and does have some variety. I avoid it when possible but the alternatives in the area are worse.

  • Deborah Day

This is a good general grocery store. It's clean and well stocked. It pays to shop the same items. They carry a selection of items different from those offered at the neighborhood specialty markets.

  • Sharon Weiss

The store was clean, and the staff was friendly, however the store didn't seem to carry a product I was looking for that is in Whole Foods. Also, prices were generally higher than in other stores.

  • Chuck

Many items missing in this supermarket like real Hummus (cedars) as in Whole Foods and Target + other stores, in addition to dessert Hummus, organic fruits etc ... but they have few good items

  • Frank King

Excellent experience Staff very helpful Choice and range of products second to none. And member of staff stocking shelves whistling like a skylark. Happy staff make the customers happy

  • Maribeth Battino

Purchased $228 worth of groceries at 10am. Still not delivered to my home 8 blocks away after 2.5 hours. No help from customer service after 2 hours and 2.5 hours. Unconscionable.

  • Evelyn Munoz

Love love love this store ! Friendly staff and very large selection of products !! Totally recommend the bakery section it’s absolutely amazing and totally delicious!

  • Drew Heinecke

Some items are reasonably priced, but not most. Two staff members were working without wearing masks and no service was offered. The cashier was adequately friendly.

  • Dev H

Decent selection of goods, the workers will coach you where to stand when checking out if needed. The register folk are so so friendly. I would shop here again.

  • Leo Martinez

WARNING!!! DO NOT DARE TO BUY MEAT HERE OR ANYTHING FROM THE DELI COUNTER!!! THEY'LL USE EXPIRED ITEMS FROM DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS TO MAKE THEIR PRE-MADE FOOD.

  • Renee “Redbone” Queen-Diva

Limited options in this small supermarket. I went for 5 things, came home with 2 and had to go to another store. Most likely, I would not visit again.

  • Taylor Polchinski

Staff is pleasant and what they have is priced competitively for the area. I just am just settling on different items/brands sometimes unfortunately.

  • Julia Ferrell

Expired food left out to sell. The cheeses are packaged for weeks still sitting out. Really gross. Aren’t they supposed to be removing expired items?

  • david langston

Good selection, decent prices in a fairly compact space. We we're picking up supplies for a dinner we were preparing, they had everything we needed.

  • Andrea Q

  • Sharon Leigh

Love Morton William's. Found everything I needed. Staff helpful. Was able to get help immediately when I couldn't reach an item.

  • Jeremy Dalton

Less crowded then the Morton Williams on 3rd Ave and a bigger cheese counter, not sure why, but it does, and is therefore better

  • Nathan Aaron

Clean store, appealing variety of brands, but staff can be disinterested at times, making for a frustrating shopping experience.

  • Warren Shapiro

Nothing special except the outrageous prices! Alas, there are not many choices. One could shop at Whole Foods and pay even more!

  • Lars F

Very expensive and very high variety of great products. Would recommend going here if you're looking for something specific.
