****SEE UPDATE BELOW**** This store is better than their competitors down the street, Village Garage and Custom. However, they suffer from incompetence and sloppy work. Their prices are fair and the staff is honest, but they really are not the best mechanics. I have found several tools left under my hood and they have kept parts of my car that they shouldn't have, on accident. If you have any kind of difficult repair, look elsewhere. If it's simple, they will give you a fair price and do a satisfactory job. Really, they are not selfish or greedy. Just...well, the results have often been severely lacking. I've spent a couple thousand here over the course of 5-7 visits. Other mechanics have corroborated my assessment of sloppy work on behalf of Motor City. I believe the new tech is the one dropping the ball, but his superiors should check his work more thoroughly. Lastly, they should use the INTERNET to solve problems sometimes! Unfortunately, this is one of those old school shops that refuses to Google things when they encounter roadblocks. They could solve so many issues and save time and money for everyone if they were willing to use technology to their advantage. Four stars is generous because the staff is so nice, I'm a sucker. The work I've received has earned 3 stars at best. ****UPDATE**** I am compelled to change my rating to 1 star due to the fallout arising from my "repairs." Today, a legitimate mechanic took a careful look at my car to root out the persistent leakage of oil once and for all. What he found infuriated me. The geniuses at Motor City South decided to use a rubber gasket sealant with a brand new rubber gasket. You may not know but this is beyond stupid, particularly in this application. They did not install all of the parts that I gave them, despite telling me so. They replaced a small water pump hose with the wrong kind of hose, and the new kind would have melted before long and led to the destruction of my engine/car. And the repairs that I paid them for and returned to the shop to have re-repaired were completely f*ed. This place has cost me thousands of dollars, days of frustration and fury, and has risked my safety. I don't give a dang about their friendliness any longer, this shop has unambiguously screwed me over. There is no doubt in my mind that this is a true 1 star establishment.

I recently took my wife's vehicle here because they have a ton of 5 star reviews and people in our neighborhood Facebook group are constantly raving about them. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I originally called on a Saturday to see about availability for a repair. The owner politely explained they were filled up and suggested I bring it in on Tues and to try and be there a few minutes before they open at 8am because "there would probably be people lined up at the door". I arrived at 7:50.....and there was a line of people waiting at that door..... in the rain. I took my place and waited. At 8am sharp the owner arrived, let us in and made quick work of getting everyone's cars and keys taken in. I was out the door by 8:05 . Later in the day I picked my car up and was more than pleased with the price I was charged for the repair. On the way home I noticed a small issue had come up that seemed likely caused by some of the work done. I texted the owner (after hours)..and he actually texted me right back! This was probably 2 hours after closing time. He instructed me to bring it back the next morning. The next day I dropped the car back off, the owner personally took it and immediately identified the problem, and later in the day let me know that not only had the original problem been resolved, in the process he replaced some major parts and repaired some other things because "they were already right there and it needed to be done. He wanted the car to be right".....he did all of this at NO CHARGE! This was several hundred dollars worth of parts and labor we are talking about, including a $100 valve cover and gasket! It totally blew my mind. Motor City South will be working on all of my vehicles for as long as we live within 100 miles of the place! Take your car there...but get there early!

I went to Motor City South because my car had issues going on when going through water puddles and over speed bumps. The first time I went they only ran a diagnostic when the issue needed more than just looking at some codes on a screen(nothing came up anyway). The second time, Mike told me to bring it on a day that was raining so they can drive it around and possibly figure out the issue since the issue happens in wet spaces or rainy weather. I left my car there for two days just for them to say my car was fine and they never even drove it around on the wet road like I was told they would do. Mike told me that would not make a difference in which was dumb because how can you figure out the issue if you’re not checking the car in the conditions in which the car starts having issues? He said my car was “crazy” and tried to make it seem like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I don’t believe they did a thorough inspection on my car at all. They were so quick to just give up and not figure it out. When I left the mechanic the symptoms I brought up to Mike started happening again. How can you not see this as a mechanic?? It seems like they only do work on obvious issues like replacing the battery, replacing alternator, flat tires, and things of that sort. I highly don’t recommend!

Mike, it's the principle - not the price. Their website states their policy is to call the client on any repair prior to making said repair. Unfortunately in my case, they didn't do this. I took it in for a wire repair. I didn't hear anything until they texted me a receipt for almost $300. When I asked why I wasn't asked for approval (which again, is their stated company policy for ALL repairs - it's right there in black white), the guy at the counter told me he'd check with the owner, Mike. Mike and I chatted and I would characterize that conversation as combative from the beginning. His responses to my concerns seemed almost flippant. I was simply trying to express how I was disappointed in not being notified. Mike continued to explain the problem, but not offer any solutions. He insinuated that he didn't need or want my business. I'm not a combative person, but the way I was raised is if you say you're going to do something you do it. These folks didn't do that, and they've lost a customer because of that. If you want a place that stands by their word, you may want to look elsewhere. I've received good service from them in the past, but this experience was a disappointment - and kind of insulting frankly.

Highlight: Fantastic people, great pricing, excellent quality of work. The way my friends talked about this place made them out to be the most honest, reasonable, and affordable shop around. Brought my Xterra in for some oil leaks on a Saturday morning, they looked it over, gave me a rundown on what it needed and pricing for it. They told me that they'd have to order the parts. Over the weekend the check engine light came on, so when I brought it back in they said they'd check it out. They kept in great communication about the status of the vehicle during its time with them, where they stood, what they found, and their recommendations. I had it back a day or two later, running better than it has since I bought it. When they investigated the CEL, they just cleaned up a sensor and re-installed it for no charge! I'm happy to say my friends did not over-exaggerate. Dealer quotes: $3500+ Motor City price: $850

Twice now they’ve failed me. The first time it was for a broken door lock and they claimed they couldn’t find the part. They did not reinstall the handle so I was given the car back with a hole in the door where the lock used to be. The most recent time I brought it in due to the smell of gas while driving and they found it to be a leaking fuel line. Again they claimed they looked “everywhere” but couldn’t find the part and told me to get it towed to a Toyota specialist. Cost me $250 for the diagnostic and tow. The Toyota specialists (toyotechs) got the part no problem and they said any mechanic could’ve ordered the part had they taken the time to look at the diagrams. I wish I could give more stars because the folks there are friendly, but I don’t understand how they can’t find parts for a very common vehicle like a Toyota RAV4 when other mechanics can and it has cost me hundreds of dollars.

  • Sidney Brinson

Timely, reliable and trustworthy shop. I needed new brakes and two new tires. Mike provided a detailed estimate and kept me updated with the progress of the work on my car, especially when my tires needed to be ordered because my car needed a slightly less common size. When I got home from dropping off my car I realized I was missing my credit card and figured it may have fallen out into my car somewhere. I monitored my account while my car was in the shop and planned to look for the card when I got my car back before determining if I needed to cancel it. I got my car back with the work done as promised and found my missing credit card in the center console, tucked away for safe keeping by someone from the shop who found it (as I know I didn't put it there). I highly recommend this shop and their skilled and honest staff.

Mike and his team went way out of their way to make me a happy customer. I contacted Mike as my Mini Cooper 2010 was having a lot of problems. My check engine light triggered, then my engine overheating lights as well. I brought it to Mike. Initially, there was a major code that Mike and his team were having a hard time diagnosing. I was contacting Mini specialists and preparing to have the car towed, when Mike said “I’m digging deep. Gonna see if i cant sort something.” I agreed and couldn’t be happier. Just picked up may car today and it’s running great! Mike and his team took a seemingly helpless situation for me, and turned it into a positive one!! I highly recommend Motor City South for your automobile needs. Great customer experience, affordable, and they are persistent when identifying and solving problems.

After being quoted $4000 by Stivers Subaru and then being told by Six Star Subaru that I needed to get a new car because of exhaust leaks, I decided to get a 3rd opinion from Motor City in East Atlanta. Am I thankful I did. Motor City told me exactly where the leaks in my 2010 Subaru Outback were and recommended I take my car to Muffler King off Moreland Ave. long story short I didn’t need a new catalytic converter. Muffler King fixed the leak in my exhaust, put a new exhaust pipe in and new muffler. All this work for $509 (including tax)!! I can’t say enough how highly I recommend Motor City and Muffler King. They didn’t try to rip me off, they were honest and transparent. I will NEVER take my car to Six Star Subaru or SDS again for repairs.

  • Susan T

This shop has gotten great reviews and now I know why. Drove in at 10 in the morning on a Saturday with no appointment, but Mike was standing out there like he was waiting for me! They had quite a few cars out there waiting to be worked on but Mike took the time to have me pop the hood where he immediately diagnosed that Jiffy Lube completely lived up to the zero stars I gave them when I stupidly had them give me an oil change. I'll be driving out of here shortly with my oil leak problem completely fixed (thank you Nick and Mike!) and I will definitely be back for all my automotive needs. So excited that I've found a shop I can trust to take care of my fabulous little car! The BEST experience ever!

  • Mildew D. Amyx

Don't bother if you have an older vehicle or a more complicated problem--seems like a glorified matinence shop that only wants to do fun work on fancy cars, and mike shifted the blame to us instead of being more honest about what he takes on. Mike was extremely rude after seeing the vehicle, way different from how he acted on the phone, and gave misleading information about the problems with it, acting like the problems were more serious than they actually are. Other employees were kind, explained the codes they had pulled, and recomended a shop that might be able to help. I'm sure motor city south is great for smaller issues, oil changes etc. and fancy cars, but look elsewhere for older trucks.

  • corey taylor

Every last one of them workers are really honest great listener super nice very gifted with their knowledge and hands. I'll have to say if they call you or text you the estimate when they done solving a problem your vehicle's going through if it's a high price I feel like it's worth it because any other shops out there will charge high and FK u over. But Motor City is 100% good when they put they hands on something you don't have to worry about coming back for a long time. Trust me the last 15 years I've been to so many bad shops out here in Atlanta it wasn't good. Motor City is the place to go 100%

  • Jacqueline Staton

Mike at Motor City South provided me with hands down the best auto repair experience I have ever had! He checked my car issue out an hour before closing, came to the restaurant I was in across the street waiting, drew me a diagram and then explained the problem and how he was going to fix it. He explained the time frame and said that if he could get the needed part, he could have me done the next morning. He had my exact quote at 12 minutes after closing and with my go ahead, had the repair completed by 10 am the next day. I will not be going to any other repair shop--Ever. Thank you Mike and crew!

  • Tyler Kramer

Took my car here with a rough idle. Mentioned it might be the throttle body and guy in charge said it sounded like some one off thing that worked for somebody online. Died as soon as I picked it up and had to park it across the street. Ended up changing the throttle body myself right there as a last ditch effort before towing it and sure enough that fixed my issue completely and it feels like I have a new car again. They seem like generally pretty knowledgeable guys however I don’t get why I was able to figure out what’s wrong when I don’t know much about cars and they couldn’t.

  • Tati Chantelle'

Towed my car here cause it wouldn’t crank. I called to check on it the next day he said they think it might be the timing belt he’ll let me know by the end of the day. I figured mike just assumed that was the issue and didn’t really check then mike texts me and says it’s the timing belt and they can’t repair that although their services mentions timing belts? Yet you can’t repair then add “it’s gonna be very expensive sheesh.” I was recommended this places and I will NEVER use them again. This is a place of business why are you texting me what’s going on.

  • Amanda Oliver

I went in for a simple tire patch but was incredibly impressed by the shop and will most definitely bring my car there for future issues. It was clear the owner (who works the first desk) is incredibly passionate about his craft, his business, and his team. I heard him positively coach and teach his employees as well as be hands on with customers. Their pricing was amazing and I felt like everyone who walked in (I sat in the small lobby for about an hour rather than drop my car off) was given very honest guidance on what their vehicle needed.

  • Alison Stokes

DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP! They seem great at first however they do not respect loyal customers and do poor work. I had my transmission replaced here and they replaced it with a bad transmission. I had to go to multiple other shops to determine the diagnosis and bring the same information back to Armor Tire. They refused to listen to the information even from my car dealership. The owner is rude and does not provide quality customer service or workmanship. I will never go here again and would not recommend this business! So disappointing!

  • Bo Curtis

This Place ROCKS!! I have lived in Atlanta on and off for 30 years and finally have found a garage I want to take my car to. My wife took her truck here over a year ago and we will never go anywhere else. The techs are awesome and always seem to actually care about us and our vehicles. Even the owner seems to always be there and makes time to say hello to us. I even dropped my bike off last week to get some work done and for the first time in my life I felt comfortable leaving it somewhere. We will be back, Thanks MOTOR CITY!

  • Beth Ediger

One of the batteries of my Prius died unexpectedly so I had my car towed here after hours. I called right when they opened and two hours later had an estimate from Mike. I approved it, added on an oil change, and my car was finished just a couple hours later! It was incredible. I was expecting to either need a new car or be spending close to 1k on a new battery but these guys gave me an incredible price. As long as I'm in Atlanta I won't go anywhere else and have already recommended them to multiple people.

  • Aaron Howard

I'm a NY transplant here in ATL. I'm used to working on my own cars but I had to take my 03 G35 Coupe to their shop. A roommate had recommended me to their business. I brought it in, they nailed it to the starter and I replaced it on my own. It was still having issues after so I took it back. Not only did they look it over again but they didn't charge me for the sensor it needed. Good guys, and I can recommend them to the interweb with a good concience. I'll be going back to replace my clutch. -Howard

  • Kristin Webster

I've been here twice now and both times they've been fantastic. Came in with a tire issue and I'm pretty sure the gentlemen was on break and immediately looked at it anyways. They get slammed so be prepared to wait.. (proof that they do a great job and have loyal customers!) The front desk guy was incredibly busy but still very personable, as was Mike (the owner maybe?) and Chase, the guy who worked on my tire. I would choose this place over every other mechanic in the city. Thanks guys!!!

  • Madison Copeland

Mike and his team went above and BEYOND to fix my car. He ended up having my Kia for about 8 days (my car might actually be possessed) and absolutely did not give up and kept me informed the entire time. Motor City South just embodies what a hardworking and honest business should be. Usually when I get my car worked on, I feel like I'm trying to be taken advantage of since I know nothing about cars. In this case, it felt like I was taking advantage of them because of how amazing they were.

  • Sam Farrow

Stopped in on a Saturday and they told me that what I needed done would take some time, and if I needed my car for at all on the weekend I should just bring it back Monday morning. That's what I did and it was promptly taken care of. I appreciated them letting me know ahead of time about how long and not just hanging onto my car for the weekend. Everyone was friendly and direct. I would definitely recommend, I know I'll be back here for any car trouble I run into.

  • David Cruz Vega

I used to love this place. I thought they had won my business forever. More recently, the man working the front desk isn't helpful, nor does he have much customer service. Their voicemail is always full, and I know because they never answer the phone. Finally, heard a bunch of mechanics cussing up a storm in the garage... I'm sure their increase in business has hurt their level of service, but it's kind of sad. I'll have to go other places for now.

  • Yes I Have One

Stumbled on this gem and WOW I am extremely impressed with thier operations, knowledge, personnel and customer service. We all wish we had a good honest mechanic. I've found mine. I highly recommend you give Motor City South your business on your next auto repair. I own a Jeep and will not take it anywhere else. If your a Jeep person, I highly reccomend Motor City. If you get the chance, be sure to meet Mike. He is the owner of this great shop.

  • Earl Johannaber

Always a great price, great SERVICE and VERY patient. I brought one of my extremely picky and grumpy friends and they handled her with perfect manners. She kept asking every 5 minutes about when it would be ready. She really embarassed me....but they were SO Nice! They totally won me over. Price is great - service is great - tires were balanced properly - I always bring my car to them for Oil Changes. Just a great bunch of professionals!

  • Marsha Earles

I'm so glad this shop exists in East Atlanta. Mike and his crew look into what you ask them to without getting back to you with a laundry list of issues like I've seen at bigger shops. Ain't got no time for that! They're reliable with no bull attached. I usually drop off my car early since they stay busy. Mike is very responsive and communicates by text. Very convenient when I have a busy day and can't tend to phone calls! Thanks, MCS!

  • hannah jackson

This review is way past due- these guys are amazing and that’s an understatement. They’ve been taking care of my car for years now and I plan on keeping it that way. They’re fast, super professional, and so nice to work with. On several occasions they’ve quoted me for parts and labor and then circled back later to tell me they found the parts for cheaper which saved me hundreds of dollars. That’s unheard of. Highly recommend them!!

  • Jason Hingerton

The owner of this shop is a good dude. I was picking up dinner at Holy Taco, went to leave, and my car wouldn’t start. Went back inside and he was at the bar getting an after work beverage. Jumped right to helping me diagnose a bad battery, found a replacement at Autozone, jumped me, and got me on my way. Totally saved my night. I’d have gladly bought one off him he just didn’t have my car’s size available. Highly recommend!

  • Christian Johnson

These fellas were a delight! After having my vehicle towed to their shop on a whim after it just refused to...car...on the side of 75/85, they let me know they'd have look, and get back with me. Not 24 hours later, for a fair price, my baby was back to me in ship-shape. Don't think twice next time you have an issue; Just know they don't do transmissions, and also, that they are far more educated on automobiles than you.

  • Jason Belisha

I'm simply floored by Mike's knowledge and generosity. He was caring and clever enough to apply a simple practice using just my throttle, which saved me from a $2,500 transmission rebuild. And for that, he charged me so low I'm still scratching my head about it. Just the fact that he took time out of his day to sit down and explain this to me is a testament to his character. I won't go anywhere else now. Highly recommended.

  • Savannah C

I have continually had my tires fixed by them since moving to Atlanta. The staff and owner are always friendly, organized, honest and hardworking. They even fixed my under belly cover that was fixed previously by the dealer ship but kept popping out due to humidity. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice until I reached my destination so I didn’t get to thank them personally. I will continue to come back to them in the future

  • brad gibson

Went for tire repair and rotation. Got home and took a look, it was clear the tires had not been rotated. Tried to call and got no answer, VM was full. This was the 2nd try with them since new management. They are awful. I figured there was no way you could screw up fixing a flat and rotating tires, but I was wrong. I wound up paying $50 to have a flat fixed. Lesson learned. Skip this place, they are pure chaos.

  • Dee T

I'm new to Georgia and I was referred to Armour Tire Co. by a relative. The best advice I could've ever been given!! My dad was a mechanic my whole life and it felt like I was in his old shop the way he would take care of his customers, this is the experience I had with Armour Tire. They do what they say and the prices are fair. They will continue to have my business and I will gladly refer business to them.

  • Robert Conley

My mentor teacher, Jennifer Dickie, recommended me to this play when I was having a battery issue. She told me that Mike and his team were amazing and I couldn't go wrong with them. She was definitely correct. Progressive had the car towed there while they were closed and then the next day my car was ready to go by end of business hours. The team was quick, fairly priced, and very considerate. Thanks guys!

  • Cameron Kauder

Had my car towed here at 8am when it wouldn't start one morning. They provided same day service and I had my car fixed and back with me before dinner. Price was reasonable and there was none of the overselling/overcharging that you usually get from mechanics. Great spot - highly recommend. (The hot apple cider they brought out for us while waiting in line in the cold was also a nice touch.)

  • Lara Gartner

Tried to get basic maintenance on my car and was told to take it elsewhere after dropping it off and leaving. Seems like they can’t handle German cars so don’t waste your time if you have one. No explanation when picking it up either. Just handed me my keys. Will not be returning, but I’ll give it 2 stars bc the location is great for anyone in the EAV area that doesn’t have a German vehicle

  • Josh Bennett

Such a great team and very professional. I had searched for years in Atlanta for a trusted mechanic and once I found Motor City South I haven't looked anywhere else. They've done their best to fit us in and to let us know if we need or don't need an item fixed. Prices are always on point and my car is always services in a timely manner. Don't go anywhere else!!!!! Love these guys.

  • Edward Spitzer

It’s my first time taking my vehicle there but I have seen their back shop and the intricate meticulous work that they take pride in… because of that I’ve sent a bunch of customers their way and each and everyone of them has been over the top satisfied… They do great quality work and treat customers well… mechanical repair go to Motor City South… bodywork go to Reid’s on memorial

  • Kenneth Main

We got our SUV worked on. It was a forth the price the dealership was trying to charge us. Plus they were fast and friendly. A few days later we noticed a noise and took it back. The new roters were warped. So replaced the warped roters in time for me to drive to Macon that evening for my son's birthday celebration. I am very thankful. And highly recommend Motor City South.

  • Carrie Jolene Kelley

We were visiting from Myrtle Beach, SC and had a tire punctured on the highway. When we got there, Mike got us right in even though they were backed up. He not only plugged our tire but took the time to make sure all the sensors on the car were working correctly. We were back on the road in no time thanks to the amazing service we happened across. Thank y'all so much!!!

  • Collete

Motor City South exceeded whatever expectations I had. They listened to my concerns and did not act like I was an inconvenience, even though they are extremely busy right now. I had to bring my car back a few times and they were quick to help. They are by far the best auto shop I have been to and the entire staff is incredibly kind and friendly. I highly recommend!!

  • Pierce Family

Ladies, if you want a mechanic that won’t convince you that you need unnecessary work done, this is the place. I took my car in because it was knocking and they told me it was covered under a warranty with my dealership. I had no idea! They could have charged me thousands of dollars. These guys are honest and affordable. I have found my new go-to mechanics.

  • Andrew Hicks

Great place, very honest and excellent customer service. They diagnosed my whole car and Mike gave me a detailed description of everything that was wrong, from major to minor to what needed immediate attention. They fixed the immediate problems and I am very pleased with the work. I will definitely be bringing my car back to them and ONLY them...

  • Kurt Thiele

Just like when you know you've gone to a top tier restaurant, I left knowing that I'd just gone to a top tier vehicle servicer. Service was on point, it was quick, and I could tell that they cared. It's nice having it in EAV, close to my home, but I'd travel from out of town to have my car looked at and serviced by this team again. Thanks, Mike!

  • Béla Figge

Mike and his team do excellent work. I've been taking my car to them for four years. They do not stop until they have diagnosed and fixed an issue. It's rare to find a shop that you can trust -- this is one of them. If small mistakes happen (nobody is perfect) they own up to it and do their best to make up for it. I highly recommended them.

  • jeannette hokanson

Good honest folks! They check out your car, let you know what it is and the price and you tell them yes or no. If Mike the owner told me it was raining purple elephants I would go get camera. He is a family man & lives in the community! Always upfront & honest. Tries to get the job done as cheaply as he can. Can't beat an honest mechanic!

  • Bert Carroll

Great customer service. Answered on the first ring. Had the tires I needed and offered a price that was comparable to internet prices. Did the install quickly and with no headache. I have recommended them to friends for tires and oil changes. (Right in EAV. A coffee shop with wireless and various restaurants are right around the corner.)

  • Rebecca Spearman

People are wonderful. Friendly environment. They don't preform unnecessary job's and recommend what is needed before they start. Would highly recommend for tire's, oil changes , and other repairs. I live in Alabama and drive over a hour for there help with my car when I can. They are first come first serve but are quick to help you.

  • Loveall

Called because I needed help and service on my car was very rudely hung up on when I called back was ignored. Honestly not worth giving this business your money or service. I felt like this review was necessary just in case anyone else is in desperate help. Please don’t get taken advantage of and disrespected by this company.

  • Rebecca Gonzalez

Super honest shop! Mike felt like my VW needed a little more TLC than he was able to give, and recommended another shop to take it to. I highly appreciate that he didn't attempt a repair and take my money considering how expensive VWs can be to repair. Mike was super polite & I would recommend Motor City South to anyone.

  • Vincent Holt

I've had two nails removed and patched from this shop. It was previously "Armor Tire"-- name changed when one of the team bought the shop. They were busy and fit me in really quickly. A patch (plug) was only $12. 5 stars awarded for the mechanic checking the air pressure and inflating the other 3 tires to optimal levels.

  • Ashley Teeter

These guys go above and beyond. Everyone who works here has been so kind and helpful. My Chevy hhr has been giving me endless problems all summer and they were able to get me fixed up and are always honest and fair with pricing. This is hands down the best auto repair shop I have found in Atlanta. Thank you guys.

  • Anita Henderson Lewis

Excellent service. This is my first time receiving service from Motor City South. I had two tires replaced and a oil change. They are very reasonable in price. They will work with you. I would refer their services to anyone. Ask for Bailey. My recommendations is to be there early. First come will be first served.

  • Lauren Nichols

This shop is walking distance from my house and our family is extremely grateful. They do great work and they are so honest and price things fairly (which is refreshing in this industry). It's the one place that I can take my car where I'm not skeptical and can let my guard down. Trustworthy and dependable spot!

  • David Densford

I’ve taken our cars to Motor City South several times. They’ve completed the repairs in a timely manner, with great communication along the way, and didn’t charge us some outrageous amount outside our budget. We will continue to use Motor City South and highly recommend them! Thanks Motor City South!

  • Mia Lowe

These people are THE BEST in town! They’re honest and will break down what absolutely NEEDS to be done vs what should be done down the road. They understand that car work can often be a big unforeseen expense but I trust their word 100%. You won’t find a better quote or turnaround time out there.

My car died in Edgewood and I learned about this place and got up early the next morning to be amongst first in line. Luckily only needed a battery terminal replaced and it was under $40.00! Quick efficient and affordable service. Wish I'd found them sooner. They live up to their excellent rep.

  • Hope Skurkis

Called to get estimate on tires. When I had to go look for my tire size, the dude on the phone mumbled "getting on my f**king nerves." I get it's a Friday, but that comment and his short temper really disgusted me. It's rude, in poor taste, and disrespectful. Terrible customer service.

  • Kayla Duperreault

Mike and the team are fantastic! Their customer service is unmatched and they are really open and honest about what your vehicle needs - as oppose to charging you for things that are unnecessary. They get really busy because they're awesome - I won't take my car in anywhere else.

  • Jane Lomas

If your vehicle needs repairs, look no further than Motor City South. Its a first come, first serve shop, so get there before the open and get on line. Knowledgeable staff, excellent customer service, and great prices. Quick turn around. Best of all, locally owned and operated.

  • Sam Fletcher

Leaving this review because the owner and shop helped me out several years ago when my car broke down when I was there on vacation. You can absolutely expect to get incredible service here-- if I lived in Atlanta, this place would get all of my business. Thanks again guys.

  • Chris Plumer

Just got my 1992 Dodge van back from these guys! Everything was finished quickly and the price was unbeatable. Believe me, get a quote from these guys and you won't look any further. Get work done by these guys and you'll never take your ride anywhere else. Good job y'all!

  • John Stites

I've never been so impressed by an auto repair shop. They let me bring my car right in for a low tire pressure. They found and removed an embedded screw, repaired the tire, and I was out of there within 10 minutes. Affable, friendly, professional staff. My thanks to you.

  • Victoria Allen

They’re absolutely great!! They helped me bolster a piece of fabric that had fallen underneath my car and was scraping the road. I was in a pinch and arrived 10 minutes before they closed and they were still willing to help me real quick. Highly recommend!

  • Joshua Zuniga

Very professional group doing consistent work. Kept me updated regularly on the plan for my vehicle and gave a great accurate quote without surprises. Fast turnaround time for the work too. They stay busy so you have to get your vehicle in early most days.

  • allie wisniewski

I will never take my car anywhere else! This is the second time I've had work done here and I cannot say enough about these guys. Work is done quickly and efficiently, and prices are on point. The owner is a great guy. Honest, straightforward, and fair.

I've been in a few times in the last few months for some small things - pre purchase inspections, tire changes, etc. The folks there have always been helpful, accommodating, and professional. Happy to support a small intown business like this one!

  • William Baker

Too cool for school mentality. Literally, I've have been there twice and never done business with them because of there unappealing attitude. If they don't know you they don't want to do business with ya. Village garage right down the street.

  • Drew Smith

I had a side wall puncture that required a replacement. Even though they didn't have my particular tire, being an older specialty tire, Ben called around town trying to help me out. These guys are awesome and go above and beyond. Thanks Ben!

  • Cameron Cameron

This was - by far - my best experience with a mechanic in Atlanta. You show up at 8am, tell them what you want them to do to your car, and they text your phone when they're done. The prices were very reasonable, and the work was quality.

  • Ben Davidson

Very professional, straight shooting, and easy to work with (mostly worked with Ben). They swapped out the AC Compressor and associated parts on my 05' Scion Xb. Work was done well, quickly, and at a fair price - would definitely go back.

  • Rebecca Sanchez

Mechanics know what they are doing, don't over charge for work that needs done, and don't try to sell you, doesn't mean that they won't tell you that you might need something else down the road but they aren't pushy. Very friendly staff.

  • Farrin Pointer

Went in to have my tire pressure checked before a trip. Guys were top notch! The provided quick, efficient service, provided an explanation for something that would need to be addressed in the next few months, and gave me affordable

  • Jamie Mountain

Went in to repair a tire that had found a nail. Was in and out within 15 minutes, and the folks working there were very professional. The whole tire repair and putting it back on my car only cost me $12, which is so very reasonable.

  • Teoviona Lewis

I took my car here for diagnostics, they told me what was wrong and answered any other questions I had! They were extremely nice! I would recommend! Go early though, I came 10 minutes before open and there was a line already!

  • donna churchwell

Great customer service from Mike. And everyone else including Johnny and Bailey. Never had a bad experience and they're, Mike, willing to help and work with you. Go here if you don't want to pay DEALERSHIP prices. No gouging.

  • Ricky Wallsten

Went in to this place on a recommendation from Grease Monkey. My brakes and rotors were shot. The mechanics here were kind and helpful, and they got the job done in less than 24-hours at a reasonable price. HIGLY RECOMMEND!

Visiting Atlanta and my front tire was low. Stopped by Motor City South and not only did they filled all the tires, they did a soap check for leaks as soon as I pulled in - for no charge! True Southern hospitality.

  • Chris Purvis

We have been coming to this shop for over 7 years now, and we couldnt have asked for a better shop to use. They have been able to keep my high mileage Nissan on the road and are extremely communicative. 10/10.

  • Susan Campbell

They always take the time to listen, while providing solutions. While they are slammed with business they always try!!! All 3 of our cars will always to to Motor City South. Honest and affordable quality work.

  • callie green

I really don't want to tell you how much I love this place, because they are so busy. Honest mechanics that are professional. I've been going here for over 10 years. Consistent from my Audi to my Nissan.

  • Jennipher Welch

These guys go above and beyond to help! I couldn’t have been more grateful for them. They still have that souther hospitality that other shops on the same street lack. I’m glad we ended up here.

  • Tracy Woodard

Courteous, quick, and didn't overcharge. I had driven in with my engine pouring smoke and they took care of it by the time I needed to get my kids from school, will definitely keep coming back!

  • Erin P

Excellent, fast and friendly service for tire patching. I had a slow leak in one of my tires. I got there a just the right time and they were able to get me in quickly and make the repair.

The most gangster car shop in the city. They are honest, quick, and efficient. Do yourself a favor and use them. The Margs and pork belly tacos next door are on point as well.

  • John Kleeman

Honest work at an honest price. The fact they are always at capacity with a line every morning let’s you know you’re getting more than your fair share of that honest price.

  • Michael B.

There isn’t a more reliable maintenance shop in east Atlanta. Every issues I’ve had no matter how big or small they have handled in a clear, honest way. Highly recommend.

Honest local genersl mechanic shop. I believe another shop stripped a flange bolt when they installed my suspension. They were able to remove it and replace it.
