It really shouldn’t cost as much as it does to get in. There isn’t a lot to see but there are some cool pieces in there. The instruments displayed are extremely neat to see and well preserved- I especially loved the top carving of the viola and his first violin. Honestly, though my favorite part was reading the sassy letters. Not only did they display Mozart frustration with singers, in a hysterical fashion but they also had letters that showed just how much the public stroked his ego as well. I’m not saying the ego stroking wasn’t well deserved but to see it in old print gave me a chuckle- such a tiny talented man with an ego bigger than Austria. I wish they played more of his music in every room, instead of just one. This museum just left me wanting more. Maybe more of a focus that a 13 year old was writing all these amazing musical pieces. More about how his parents fostered his love and dealt with the fame part of it. Or even more about his two sons attempting to follow in his footsteps.

Mozart's Wohnhaus (Residence) is a museum set in the place he lived for 7 years. We saw the 8 rooms of information in about 30 minutes at a moderate pace, seeing the paintings, letters, instruments, and information about his life, travels and work. There is a free audio guide app, though there are also ample signs in German and English throughout the exhibition. Note that if you're also planning on seeing his birthplace, the combined ticket is a better deal than purchasing individual tickets. For facilities there is a gift shop and clean (though dated) toilets.

Absolute waste of time. The small dedication to the early home of Mozart does not do tribute to this Master Composer. The rooms are quite bare with no furniture from the time period. The piano Mozart played, which should be showcased, but little effort is made. There is most some writings by the family that the description in several languages is so small it is hard to read. The audio visual aspects are low quality and amateur. So much more could be done here and they seemed only interested to taking money for a low quaintly product. It is expensive to enter for little to see.
If you are walking around Salzburg, then this is a must visit place specially for classic art & music lovers. It is where Mozart has lived at the so-called "Dance Master's House". It is a spacious 8 room apartment on the first floor which is now home to a museum. It tells you the musician history in details for his family and children. 12 euros is the start price for an adult ticket. The collection inside is real and amazing. Photos are allowed but with no flash. A highly recommended and a must indeed.
Visited Mozart Residenz in Salzburg and was immersed in the maestro's world. The exhibits offer a profound insight into Mozart's life and his creative process. The preserved rooms exude a historical charm, and the audio guide enhances the experience. It's a pilgrimage for classical music enthusiasts, providing an intimate connection to the genius of Mozart. If you like Mozart, it is a remarkable visit in the heart of Salzburg.
I see a lot of reviews saying it cost too much to go in. Get the Salzburg card!! You could get into a lot of museums for free. For this museum, there was nothing special really other than looking at the things that Mozart used and how his apartment was like. But regardless, it is still the home of the famous Mozart so it’s worth going~

There are two Mozart houses in Salzburg, one where he was born and the other where he lived as a teenager. This house speaks volumes about the composer's personal life and his debts left to his family. Special for those who are more interested in biography than in musical works

From 1773 to 1787, the Mozarts lived at the so-called "Dance Master's House", standing on today's Makartplatz. The spacious eight-room apartment on the first floor is now home to a museum. Good visit and museum store!

Nice museum to visit. While not a whole lot to see, they did provide some history of Mozart's family and life. We didn't need to buy tickets in advance and was able to walk in quickly.

This is just amazing…I’m surprised that the museum quite a large amount of real artifact instead of replicas. I wish I can stay longer so able to enjoy all the symphonies.

I think it is a great way to learn about Mozart's life. This is the second part of this journey after the birthplace of Mozart. I learned a lot about his life here a lot also. I think it is a great way to learn. Younger ones also can enjoy the "tour".
Just a beautiful place to visit history of one of the greatest composers/performers in history. The place is amazing. A must see if you come to town.

A lovely place for classical music lovers. I loved looking at the 14 stringed violin/viola! I recommend using the Salzburg card as it gives access to here and many other places in the area!
Mozart's abode or residence is a fairly low building. Since a great composer lived there, it is worth visiting, learning something new and maybe taking a photo.
Must watch for Music lovers. Very sentimental place where legendry Mozart stayed for 20+ years, see his personal belongings.. Mehr
