I placed an order through the Nandos App for 2 x sharing wedges for collection at 17:15, the same time that I walked into the restaurant to accommodate for any possible delays in the preparation. Unfortunately, there is no longer separate queues for persons who order telephonically via the app. You are required to stand in the same line as those persons who place their order upon arrival. I did not have an issue with this as therr were 3 people ahead of me. However, I did take issue in the fact that I had to stand in the line for almost 20 minutes for an order that should already have been completed. Once I got to the front on the line, there was nobody at the counter. I understand that they have other duties but there are three tills and not a single person was there. I was required to wait until someone assisted. The time was now 17:45. I was then informed that my order (2 x wedges) was still being made as they are "spicing it up) (However, I suspect that my order was given to someone else because I did not collect it on time due to no fault of my own). I then waited a further 10 minutes for my chips to arrive and I left the restaurant at 17:55. I am very disappointed in this experience. I have been coming to this specific branch for years and have never experienced service like this. I understand that it is a Friday evening and the orders are flying in, but please have a separate counter for mobile orders. The very purpose of ordering through the app is for convenience.

We order from this Nandos regularly and over the last few months the service has really gotten worse. I order using the app which i find very efficient, but when getting to the store I always have an issue. First it used to be the kerbside collection as the spot to collect was always being used by food delivery bikes but last night was the worst. The app gives you a time to collect (mine was 19:35) but I ended up walking out just before 8. This was my second order for the day. The manager had a thousand apologies about the people administering the app don't do it properly to the store is busy. The entire time she spoke to me she had a smirk of "it's not my problem and I don't care" look. Imagine somebody apologising to you but also saying its not their fault and blaming the world and its aunty for the poor service! The customer service and interactions at this nandos is in desperate need of improvement. I met Robbie from Nandos many years ago and this is definitely not the vision he had for Nandos. Unfortunately last night was the last straw for me and I won't be returning to this Nandos.

NB: I have added a response to the the owner's response below, simply because Google Local Guides does not allow you to reply to owner. I was quite happy to find someone open on New Year's Day, the service was okay but t disappointed with the product. This might be the norm, I don't know but what I expected was a grilled piece of chicken with a basting sauce added at the end. What I got was a boiled piece of chicken that didn't look as if it had reached the grill yet. The same was true for my partner who ordered the same meal. With takeouts and rising fuel costs it's not easy to go back and complain so we didn't. The sauce was delicious. EDIT AFTER OWNER'S RESPONSE In response to the owner's reply (because I can't reply any other way): Thank you for acknowledging the problem, and responding to it. I am touched. I will certainly be giving the place Nando's Kenilworth another try. I won't however be taking you up on your offer to send you the receipt, sorry, but didn't keep it. Not a problem, or no worries as they say. Thank you.

They can not handle busy times. I went there on 10/7/21 and as usual they were understaffed and there was chaos in the shop. About 10 Mr D drivers were waiting to be helped. I ordered on the Nandos app and was told the ETA was 7:30pm yet I still had to wait in the queue for 10 minutes and then told I would have to wait another 10 minutes. I knew it might be longer as the orders were piling up and there were mistakes with orders so I cancelled mine. I phoned customer care (the second time in a months) and was given all the clichéd responses like, “we value you feedback blah, blah..” I was sent an sms and still have not been contacted. I must just state that the staff were polite and friendly and I don’t blame them for the inefficiency, it is the owner of the shop I hold responsible. How can you have one cashier and 3 tills? And why should people who phoned in their orders or ordered via the app have to wait in a queue? There were many people complaining in the shop at the lack of organization.

Ordered lunch online. Service was very poor. When arrived to collect and pay, was told they just packing my order. That wasn't the case. We waited almost an hour for our meal. No real apologies given. I think a manager needs to be placed to check that food is going out timeously. The person packing the food, takes a query at the till, chats to uber drivers etc. The uber drivers hog the corner and make a huge amount of noise. Also doesn't make sense to pre order and then have to stand in long queue to pay. It would help to have separate queue for phone orders. This I used to be our favourite branch but service has become very poor over the years. There needs to be some correlation between what the online order operator tells you about time to collect order and how busy the store is.

Probably the oldest Nandos in the world. All of which made the perfunctory service rather disappointing. I had to go ASK for the roll that they'd forgot, and then even had to go collect it in person at the end of the meal myself. Then they wanted to charge me extra for a second butter... I'm a diehard Nandos chicken fan, so I love the food. But why could I not have coffee with my dessert at lunch? (They don't serve it at this time or some such nonsense). Malva pudding was meh... tasty but frankly over-sweet. Its rare for me to not finish a dessert. "Fynbos" tasted like Fanta and Sodawater mix. Not bad but not fynbos either.

I put up with the poor service from this branch as it's the closest to me. But on the 29 MARCH 2023, their rude and entitled staff charged me x3 for my order even after telling them the amount has gone off 3 times. They said "you must pay again because our system says you have not paid". They assured me it would be reversed. 3 days later, no reversal. I contact my bank, get proof and submit it to the branch. The manager said the refund will occur in 7 working days. It's been 3 WEEKS!!! I feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall with these people. I just want my money back man! How can a branch care so little about their customers!! I'd give them -5 stars if I could!

Absolutely atrocious! The staff are barely literate. Been here multiple times where I literally point to the food I want on their menu, while slowly saying its name, and they 100% always get it wrong. They confidently argue that they are correct, while spouting some inane and incorrect garbage that is irrelevant to our complaint. Above this, their hygeine is disgusting. Their dish water is splashed all over their food as they prepare it. Frankly, this branch should be closed down.

Such a strong brand is spoilt by poor service and management. The store wasn't busy about 5 tables. And no queue. Food took forever to come. First, the chips, and then I kept asking when the rest of my order was going to be served/ ready. Served food bit by bit. With many of the dishes going back as it was cold. Its like they just can't serve a decent meal that is warm, and the manager on duty can't seem to care. What a waste of money for "private school" chicken.

Service has changed, Some of the staff has became unpleasant. We had 2 bad experiences in 1 month. Store Not managed well. This store cannot come close to 2 stores. 1 belgravia rd Nandos n 2 The art village plumstead. We stay around rosemead area but we drive all the way to art village. We recieve the best food n service. I was given the owners cell number for Rosemead. I send her a message weeks ago n she never cared to reply. I followed up 14 days later n she said email your complaints to nandos customers care as this is not a complaints number. WOW what has happened to customer service in SA?

There's a clear lack of care and management at this branch. I don't write reviews so know it's been frustrating beyond end. For some reason 3 Uber eats orders and the first 2 after being delayed numerous times Nandos Kenilworth staff canceled the order (after an hour and a half of waiting). (It was a simple 1/4 chicken). Now again, an order is delayed by an hour and waiting for it to be canceled. As the owner of this branch, whoever you are, I strongly suggest that you sort your business out before the market sorts it out for you and goes elsewhere. 3 times burnt, you've lost a regular.

Horrible service from the moment we stepped in. 1. Absolute chaos at the door. 2. We waited so long for our meal 3. Waiters try to avoid eye contact when you trying to get their attention. 4. And when you finally get them to come to you, you wait ages to get what you asked for. Glasses are supposed to be on the table before the meal even arrives. 5. We ordered two meals takeaway (1/4 chicken and chips) and waited over a half an hour for our takeaway bag, we weren't even notified when the meal was ready! Horrible experience at one of my favourite restaurants, we are very disappointed!

It was the most horrible experience ever. The ladies who brought our food to our table were unprofessional and had unpleasant looks on their face. My food was nearly finished and I had to remind them to bring my bar one milkshake. I waited 31 minutes for a milkshake and then when I asked for a take away packet,the lady cleaning the table just looked at me and then my husband had to go fetch the take away packet himself. The ladies working there are very unprofessional and I'll never want to go there again. I am so angry at the fact that I had to remind them what to bring of my order.

extremely disappointed once again After complaining of a previous shocking meal having sent photos, received a call from Head Office agreeing that the few pieces of chicken was definitely not pulled, and what the Grande chicken bowl should look like. I was offered a free meal to truly enjoy what I should've received....well, returned a few weeks later.....it was even worse, thin straps of chicken which looked and felt like biltong. .pathetic to see the least.I did not bother complaining again....we shall never return.

This Nandos has impressed me the last few times I have visited. Keep up the consistency guys. Note to owner fasting month you guys have mainly Muslim customers why not provide water at the table and a few dates. Small acts go a long way.

When I’m in no mood to fix myself something to eat, this Nando’s is my go to. Always bang on, in terms of quality and value for money. Like clockwork, every Friday, we order Boujee Bowls and Peri-Tato salad. And I must admit, I’m never disappointed. When I ask for extra sauce, they give me more than extra sauce. And it just tastes better than any other Nando’s in Cape Town. On Friday evenings, after a tough day at the office, when Mr D knocks at my door to deliver it, I’m so grateful we discovered it. Keep up the great work!!!!

This Nandos is really a poor performer, staff are not really enjoying work they never smile also don’t listen to instruction like please can I have peri chips they will come plain. The pick-up was great! I had ordered on the app (Nandos specific App)to pick up in store. They were friendly and told me my food wasn’t quite ready yet. I didn’t have to wait long and I was on my way! They forgot to put caramelised onions on the food, however after we noted it on the app I received a call from the manager saying that next time I go in they will replace them, which was nice touch!

My experience wasn't fantastic. 1. Our order was captured incorrectly 2. The wrong food brought to us which we politely sent back. 3. On arrival for the correct order my son's boujee bowl order was incorrect, we sent it back and it came back incorrect again with no avo. He's vegetarian and specifically asked for the avo & Halloumi bowl 4. My chicken and cheese burger never arrived but my wedges did? 5. My husband thought your food was FANTASTIC.

Usually good to excellent, but on this occasion it took them about 15 minutes after my arrival to provide my order which I had placed and paid for online, ie just on 30 minutes for a 1/2 chicken and wedges. When ordering online I would expect the order to be available at or just after the designated collection time. I will return, but suggest they have a relook at their systems during busy times.

Don’t know where to start. Decided to never go back here again. Any order takes ages to get done. Most recent was this evening and it took just over an hour for a takeaway consisting of 4 items. Always seems like chaos behind the counter with customers constantly complaining. Felt bad for a dine-in family who had to get up and ask on numerous occasions for specific items that just didn’t arrive.

I ordered UBER eats from Nando’s Kenilworth Friday 5 August 2022 in the evening and got such terrible food. The corn was raw, the food was burnt and I had ordered a drink, I didn’t get a drink in the delivery. In the picture this is Nando’s Kenilworth’s supposed rice hotpot which does look to me like vomit with burnt bits of cabbage. So not worth it!

Waited 20min for my order which was a simple quarter chicken meal.They forgot my roll which I was made to wait an additional 15min for...by this time my food was cold. This nandos branch never gets uber eats deliveries correct. The past 3 times we have ordered via uber eats, there has always been an item missing. This time it was a whole chicken (but the sides came with). We went through the effort of calling customer service who put us through to the branch. They said they would find out what happened, and call us back but never did.

When we placed order to take away we were told it would take 10 minutes. After 20+ minutes I asked the manager where our order was. He told me the food was ready but the 2 milkshakes were being remade for the 3rd time. Also the cashier had to ask the staff to quieten down as we could not hear what she was saying. Service was excellent and I got what I wanted as a "side" with my family meal. My kids loved the takeaway milkshake, actually the best chocolate milkshake I've tasted thus far...The salad was fresh,green and crunchy but the chicken portions were small compared to Kentucky. This is the worst Nando's. My husband and I always get below average food from this branch - and we've given them many chances. Last chance was last week. My husband ordered an original bounce bowl take away. It was half empty and chicken overcooked. So little food for R70+. Nando's are you guys crazy? Never going back.

I have no complaint, but my friend was very disappointed Re: Service and wrong order. Their concentration were more on online orders that had to be delivered. There were hardly anyone in the dining area. There's no justification for the mistake. I don't think she would go there again. She was furious. .

It was a visit during lockdown, so telephone order, 25 minute waiting period and collect. Our order was correct, ready on time and there was plenty of parking. Outside Lockdown time, it is quite busy and if you are ordering a takeaway then the wait is quite long, for a sit down the wait is shorter

I order from Nando's once a week on average. I have been getting white chicken i.e. No flame-grilled chicken or flame grilled corn from this branch consistently. I am lucky if I get basting on this chicken sometimes. Steamed chicken is different from flamed-grilled. More

Service is extremely poor, tables are not cleared even when waiters are called. Sides came well after we were halfway through the chicken. We had to find our own cutlery and glasses. The food was average and portions very small as becoming common with Nando's.
