Horrible precinct!!!!!!!!! I came in to file and report for someone who attacked me and my husband with his car after a whole big road rage incident and they refused to file it. The guy who attacked us was able to file is and even got my husband arrested when he was the one who tried to attack us. This man made me go through most horrifying roller coaster of my life. After trying cut everyone off in a busy street by getting on the sidewalk and my husband not letting him cut us off because we were so late for work, He got out of the car cursing and spat at us, threatening my husband and inviting him to fight (I begged him to stay). The guy then went to his trunk (I thought he was going to take out a gun or a bat), but there was too much traffic and we couldn't get away. He actually took out a can of Axe and threw it at us, traffic then all of the sudden moved. We ran off and even switched streets to get away from him, but he chased us through the streets - running red lights, getting on sidewalks and finally slammed into the rear of our car. My husband being on parole at that time (problems with his ex-wife) and as per my wishes tried his best not to get out of the car, but once he hit the back of our car, my husband took it as a threat on our lives. He took out the club and pounced on his car and tried to get the guy out, but the guy didn't and instead called the cops on us. Unfortunately, I called the cops 30 seconds after he did... It was to late. I didn't call earlier because I thought it would just end, that the guy would get tired and stop harassing us. The guy pressed charges, saying my husband hit him with the club, which he didn't and that my husband was the one that started it all. We explained to the precinct, but the guy had gotten bruised from he's steering wheel when he slammed on us and claimed that it was from my husband beating on him with the club... It made no sense, if it was a hit by the club by my husband, his arm would have been broken. The point is that I tried to file my report and they treated me like I was the worst person in the world. They ignored me for a half hour, talked down to me ... "what do you want?", they said, then after explaining they said NO. and when I insisted, the captain basically screamed at me, and with an attitude - as if I was bothering him said "I said that you can't, you can't file a report simply because you want to get back at the guy" I told him, that it was not the case, that I just wanted to note what happen and that this guy deserves to be behind bars since he attacked us and I had the damages to my car to prove it... I left there crying and feeling so little and helpless. Isn't the police there to serve and protect us? They are city employees, my taxes pay for their salary. Why are they so against us? All this does is just build hatred and lack of trust. Do I ever even want to even consider getting help from them again? NO! Because I know they wont.

Over all, the 114th precinct is not horrible, but has SERIOUS room for improvement. but my biggest issue is that EVERYTHING takes forever with this police department. I understand that they can't address simple things like noise complaints right away, but they are slow even for serious things. some time ago I was in a car accident on 31st street. This is literally a 5 minute walk to the precinct. I called 911 and the precinct. It took over an hour and multiple calls before a pair of cops who acted completely uninterested in being there decided to show up. About a year prior to that I saw a kid get run over by a car on the corner of 37th street and Hoytt. I immediately dialed 911 and since they were taking their time, I ran down to the precinct to get help (3 very short blocks away). They promised to send someone (rather than just follow me back). EMS eventually showed up about half an hour later, followed by the fire department (who kept going to the same intersection on the north side of Astoria boulevard instead of the south side). Thankfully this kid wasn't too badly hurt, as I hate to think what would have happened should he have had to rely on the cops for any kind of aid. By the time the ambulance left, no one from the precinct had shown up. Did I say the precinct is 3 short block away? :o\ IN the mean time, cops from this precinct can be regularly found double parked or parked at fire hydrants all over the neighborhood, ging into assorted shops (usually sitting down to eat or buying something to go). This is especially true of the italian deli on 23rd Ave and 27th street, Othello's Deli, and Sal, Kris and Charlie's deli - under the train tracks on 23rd Ave and 35th street. On more than one occasion I've seen patrol cars parked on some of the quieter streets of the neighborhood, only to see the officers inside napping away. :o\

Imagine working all day at the hospital, and sitting in the car for 4.5 hours after shift just to wait for cops from this precinct to arrive at the exact scene where i found my car hit while parked : all scratched and severely dented… i called 911 5x almost every 1 hour or 45 mins to keep checking but just kept saying it was dispatched… i called precinct and i was left on hold twice during my calls… i understand they would have emergencies and can get re-routed, im a medical professional so i know which to attend to first as well… but to not be able to know at least an estimate of arrivals… and sit in my car with no assurance if they will come today or the following day was way too much. So, I drove to their precinct to ff up like 2.5 hrs after my 2nd 911 call and the cop advised that i should go back to the scene or it will just be like fraud if i left… so i left with no choice( after already been on my feet at work from 7 am and to deal with this later). I came back and sat back till 10 pm (again, WITH MY FIRST CALL at 5:28)… and this was already a long day for me at work ….and to wait for unknown arrival… no assurance… i left with no choice but to leave already as i have to go work again early the ff day… 5 hours is way too long just for a cop to arrive in scene it isnt like im calling another borough! Im still in astoria I have been so patient already i guess …but this is frustrating…

My experience is not that good with the 114 . Trying to understand if it the precent or the 911 system that dispatch the call or is it that my concerns are not there concerns. With in a year time I seeing crime increase , car being broke into people selling drugs in broad day light and the addict using drugs in our public parks . Alcohol drinking all over loitering home invasions , graffiti ,homeless people sleeping in the parks . Is our precent under staffed or do they not care . If you call the 911 system they show up hours later and other time they do not show up. I contacted my local councilman office with my concerns for i,m not looking to be the next victim . I spoke with the 114 detective squad expressing my concerns and ask to have foot patrol get out of the car and they may see what I see when i,m walking out there . I believe I been very far . I feel as if no one care with is happening in Astoria Queens . cause if they are able to drive around giving ticket for car parked illegal and put boot on car than in my option they have thee resources and do not know how to used it. Correct me if i,m wrong and I would love to be wrong but I'm not . Hopeless in Astoria looking for my safety . I was forced to give one start in order to post

To Officer GILI and NYPD: Respect with All My Heart. 1. Went into get help; Did Not know It was not a Police Matter. 2. Officer Patiently took the time while very Busy with the job, To Explain to me and Guide me on Where should go to Get proper help on the matter. 3. PDs are Absolute Human Beings just like us. We also need to Learn in Life: On not to call 911 for many things that is really not in their Jurisdiction ( Not under their control as they have to obey the law just like us; that is why There are different jurisdictions to handle different matters.) For them, it is even harder than us, because they put their life on the line to do their jobs for US, but never is Appreciated. When we go ask them for help, and when the matter is not under their control, we get angry at them, we take it out on them, we blame on them for something we should have educated ourselves thru life. The worst part is The officers cannot do anything but to take in our Non-Sensing Accusations... I apologize for When I misunderstood the PDs in the past. Salute! Thank you for Protecting us! We APPRECIATE YOU!

Pro: they're close enough to where I live that I feel safe, for the most part. Con: First off, their evening operator is rude. Phone etiquette aside, he has no idea what a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) is, and he told me I had to come in the precinct to file one. Not true. Upon calling the 104th I found out otherwise. I've had other issues with police from this precinct before as well - not issuing tickets for the illegal activity they witness; not arresting people who make threatens EVEN when those threats are directly in front of those same police; they park their vehicles in bike lanes and on the sidewalk blocking full access, constantly; they run red lights without using their sirens or emergency lights. I know these are probably things I should file with internal affairs, but who has the time?

  • Atmosphere Steinway

there is an officer called Moscato and id number 928817. he came to my working place and kind of threaten me by telling me that e will pass by my working job so he can make my life and work harder. he even called me stupid and said I understand slowly cause of my race. he gave me 8 tickets and some of the ticket is a lie and I have the proof of that. he said I am stupid and a lot of my friends heard him. I don't know why some police officer have o use there badge to disrespect other people . I applied for a police officer job and I don't know if I want the job after I meet that officer.

  • Emily Baird

Wow!!! Shockingly unhelpful, I live two blocks away from the 114th Precinct and called them with an emergency and they told me to hang up and call 911(THEY ARE 2 BLOCKS AWAY!!). This precinct gives dedicated NYPD Officers who put their life on the line a bad name. Also don’t even think about using a sidewall in the immediate vicinity since it's where all of the employees at the 114th park their personal cars ( you literally have to risk getting hit by a car by walking in the middle of the street because their cars are in the sidewalk) disgraceful.

ATTENTION OFFICER S. CAMPBELL: Kindly pull your head out of your a$$ and learn how to write a valid parking ticket. 3 times in the past year you have written me up for having "EXPIRED NYS INSPECTIONS STICKER", neglecting to notice that my car is registered in CONNECTICUT. Don't the CT license plates on both the front and back of my car tip you off that my car is NOT REGISTERED IN THIS STATE??? I suggest you be demoted to whatever rank could possibly be lower than "Meter Maid" until you learn how to actually inspect the outside of a vehicle.

Literally the most useless precinct in the 5 boroughs. I've lived in Astoria for over 14 years and not once have they ever stepped up and done good work. A drunk driver once hit the house on the corner - an incident I witnessed first hand. Took the police 3 hours for someone to show. When they did - they did nothing. Never took a statement from me or arrested the SOB. Recent events have further transpired to underscore how utterly useless they are. Too busy eating donuts and watching YouTube to help a tax paying homeowner.

  • Steven From Spanjer

Very upset at this precinct. Everything is a big deal. They cannot seem to do anything for our tax dollars. Called because cars were being broken into. I have cameras everywhere - I have yet to see a police car respond. Called because our driveways were completely being blocked and our businesses could not function - they came out at MIDNIGHT after all businesses were closed and ticketed the wrong friggin' car. The car they ticketed wasn't even blocking a driveway. It was legally parked. IDIOTS!!!

  • sweet logix

Beyond rude. They threatened me just because I asked for information. I am scared for my life. Never again will I trust any NYPD officer. They'll kill the innocent ones they're sworn in to protect. I'm heart broken to see that there really are some bad police officers, detectives and lieutenants. Be very cautious and careful when you enter the 114th. They will lie to protect themselves and they take advantage of their badge.

  • Jade Stylistics

The police officers who show up for investigations are disgustingly rude. I called in to report my bike stolen and they couldn't even be bothered to step out of their car until I told them the location of where the bike was stolen. It's no wonder people's perception of the NYPD is so low. This precinct needs to retrain their police officers and let them know they are suppose to be working for the community not against them.

  • Cesar Barturen

You have 3 detectives in A GREY JEEP, PARKED IN 48TH ST AND BROADWAY, ACTING LIKE LITTLE KIDS, THEY WAIT FOR PPL TO WALK IN THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CORNER TO DRIVE BY THEM AND SOAK THEM WITH THE PUDDLE OF WATER . THATS RIDICULOUS HOW DETECTIVES HAVE TIME TO PLAY JOKES. 2 WHITE DETECTIVES AND A BLACK WOMAN DETECTIVE IN THE BACK SEAT.. BECAREFUL ASTORIA WITH THE GREY JEEP, I WILL SOON PUT A CLAIM AGAINST THEM.

  • Brian X

I called 911 over 5 times and waited 3 hours, they kept telling me somebody has been dispatched and was on their way. I'm still waiting and nobody has showed up. A person stole my bike on Steinway and on my way home, I found it. It was locked to a tree with a foreign lock, one block away from my house. After waiting 80 minutes I tried calling the precinct and got the voicemail every time.

  • Hakim Talbi

Very professional and they welcome us each Sunday and Wednesday to drop off and pick our little girls to their abusive father. We our forced to drive 3 hours from upstate New York but at least we found a safe exchange place with a professional team to avoid any problem with a crazy father who is using a judge decision to abuse us.

  • Paloma Del Aguila

Cop was nice enough to direct me to the bathroom and when I made it to the main desk reception person didn’t allow me to use the bathroom. He obviously saw I was pregnant and didn’t care, very insensitive. I understand a precinct is not a place to ask for a bathroom, but it was emergency as I’m pregnant and could wait any longer.

  • Jennifer Jaramillo

Called at 3pm it’s now 6:45- do you know where your nyc police officers are? I called the precinct and they said I’m up next they will be there soon- I’m on they’re cue. — is this a car service ? Restaurant ? Also... I got the sit tight honey they will be there soon... Still waiting.......

  • Aayush Desai

Ridiculously horrible experience by 911 and this precinct. I had my tire and rims stolen and no police has shown up to file a report after calling them on multiple occasions. I waited over two hours by the car, no response, and again for another hour, still no response. Terrible service, dont even deserve the one star.

  • Nancy Whelan

Watched a man brutally abuse his daughter. Called and called to report. Nobody called back. There is even video evidence of the attack but business said it will be erased in 2 days. So ANGRY at 114th. Actually disgusted. No wonder little children are being killed in NY. Nobody cares. Shame on you, NYPD @nypd

  • Stephanie Fravola

This review is to commend the performance of officers Ventura and Antonella. These officers handled our call for service in a professional and courteous manner using good sound judgement. They are a credit to their uniform as well as to the 114 and are a template for what good community service should be.

  • Kloe Kalthi

Honestly I’m having the worst experience with them. I have been victim of a fraud and they don’t even care to investigate. Moreover, costumer service need some professional training: they say call 911 if you think you are unsafe... What in the world is that?

  • Midtown Native

We always see patrol cars and police presence in Astoria. It gives me peace of mind since my kids are sometimes working late and get home later than usual. Thank you for your bravery and hard work guys! My whole family and everyone I know appreciate you!

  • Yesica Lopez

I don’t know what the hell they do but it’s definitely not their job. I’ve called dispatcher 8 times within the 4 hours & nobody showed up. Get new careers if you’re not going to take it serious. Maybe if I had donuts and coffee they would’ve arrived.

  • Han jessica

call 2s. 1.people broken our windows. come fast , but did't realy help . we pay for the new window by ourself. 2. one guy drunk come to store looking for fight or ..... come very fast. take the guy to hospital. good job. thank you .

  • Carrie L. Pena

There is a corrupt Police Officer at this Precinct named Daniel Sottong. He is probably the biggest liar in the Police Department. He is totally lacking in ethics, morals, integrity. He should be fired. He is violating my rights.

  • Ricardo Ramos

Two corrupt officers in charge of a investigation and I happen to be the victim. My damn luck lol .. be careful !!!! With this precinct... PS: The Investigation Is Still Going On !!! Even though nothing is happening...
