To say that this is the best Chinese restaurant in the northern suburbs of Victoria may be the greatest understatement ever made by man on this planet. 25 years ago mine and my wife's relationship was founded on excellent Chinese food living in the Box Hill and Balwyn areas where we were treated to excellent quality Chinese restaurants. Sadly about 12 years ago we moved way out north to the green pastures of Doreen and high quality Chinese food was not a possibility due to there being none. Without warning, as a family whilst on a desperate google search of "chinese food that actually tastes good near me", we were immediately attracted to the name "Northern Delicious". It was unusual enough that this could have been what we have been searching for for so many years. We bravely loaded the kids into the Camry and headed off, with hesitation, knowing the danger of false promises that had lurked along Plenty Rd for some time now. We entered through the Coles car park and opened the door nervously to Northern Delicious. WOW!!!!! We were greeted by authentic BBQ duck and pork at the entrance and went on to have easily the most amazing Chinese meal of the last 15 years. I genuinely am struggling to think of better and that includes, Flowerdrum, Teahouse etc.... If you have never been to this place before, drop what you are doing immediately and get there at once. For the most part it was a delightful night. My partner, mother, father and I attended at 6:30pm. The staff were polite and very attentive, however, a little hard to understand for the typical Aussie, but you can’t fault them on that! It is a Chinese restaurant after all! It was refreshing to see a lot of Asian customers in the restaurant, that is a great sign to say it’s quality food. The prices were fair and servings relatively reasonable size. The ONLY 2 reasons why I have given a 4 star rating (would have given 4.5, but that option isn’t available, is because the main came out some 45-50minutes after the entrees. So I was a little hungry during the wait. The second reason was, we ordered the Singapore noodles and from my recollection, there was no mention of Chilli, and the dish was a little spicy. I was ok with this, however my partner and parents don’t eat spicy food so that was a let down. In conclusion, the food was fresh and full of flavour, the sizzling Mongolian beef dish was INSANELY YUMMY and the the customer service was great. (I may need to learn mandarin/Chinese for a better experience). I will definitely attend this restaurant again, however may I request that the wait time between dishes is shortened and the Singapore noodles are listed as spicy on the menu. Has to be the worst Chinese food experience. Had better food at closing time from the Bain Marie at the food court. The soup was void of seasoning and flavour. The satay was an sad oily concoction of spices but no satay sauce or even a peanut to be found. The roast pork was tough dry and chewy all at the same time. The sesame prawn toast should just be renamed sesame fried bread because that’s exactly what it was. The charsiu and steamed rice was edible but not enough to make this $100 meal worth it by any means. Avoid this place and go home and open a jar of Kantong instead. Never had it myself but surely it’s got to be better than this experience.

A new find in Bundoora...delicious food! We ordered a variety of dumplings and dishes like fried flounder, pipis in xo sauce with Chinese doughfritters, salt and pepper chicken ribs, clay pot toufu with pork, sweet and sour pork and a few veg dishes. Fav was the pipis in xo sauce and the Chinese doughnut was at the bottom which soaked up the sauce while still crispy. Roast duck was good too and they have a variety of other roasts as well as Peking duck. Great for large groups and families. It is conveniently located right in the same building as the car park in Uni Hill. Will def be back to try the other dishes.

Worth every dollar spent and prices are very reasonable. The roast duck was not only the freshest we have had but a flavour bomb on the tongue. Amazing flavours. And wasn't overly fatty compared to other restaurants we have visited over the years. The white bait dish was also a big hit, especially with a fussy 4yo child. Could do with Lemon wedge on the side of the plate but other then that, wonderful dish. Customer service was great. And they gave us the option to either order from a QR code or with one of the servers. Can't wait to return again soon.

Wow, truly delicious Chinese food in Bundoora! Between 7 adults we ordered 2 Peking ducks (option 1 and option 2) — this allowed us to indulge in fried rice, egg noodles, duck soup and chilli garlic fried duck bones. The pancakes were a bit inconsistent and stuck together, causing holes. Additionally, we ordered Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, honey chicken, and salt and pepper squid tentacles. They are very generous with their position sizes. Everything was well flavoured. Staff were lovely and attentive. Plenty of parking underneath Uni Hill to access the restaurant. Super keen to go back and try more dishes!

Went with a large group for a birthday dinner and was treated very well by all staff and they were even kind enough to upgrade our seating. Wait staff were all very attentive and helpful. The food came out in a very timely manner considering how much our table was ordering throughout the evening (8 people) and was absolutely delicious. I could not recommend a better place at a better price, easily the best in the northern suburbs, my experience was amazing and many of my friends and myself are now repeat customers. 5/5

Food is good average service We had 3 roasted combination on rice with BBQ pork, crispy pork and pecking duck. They were good, had crispy skin texture on both pork crackling and duck. We also liked salt and pepper ribs, you can really taste salt and pepper in the batter which is good. Kung pao chicken had a lot of chilli but we enjoyed it as we like spicy food. Terrible customer service, rude and arrogant. Food is average and overpriced. Had a bug in the chilli oil and my meal came out undercooked, they tried to argue back with me and still charge me full price. Don’t come to this restaurant save your money And also all their 5 star reviews is all fake accounts they pay for good reviews!!!! If you see all the bad reviews that other people have made towards this disgusting restaurant they argue back and say people were paid to make bad reviews towards them that’s how twisted in the head these people are!

Great lunch specials for $12.80 with good portion sizes. Mains and entrees also have good portion sizes. Quality overall was good. Service was good too, we received a complimentary dessert for lunar new year which was really nice (and tasty, a coconut jelly). Had the Mongolian beef, house friend rice, ribeye stir fry which were all good, kung pao chicken maybe lacking a little bit in flavour but overall good too. Would definitely come back and try out some of the roasts/other dishes.

Need to fix opening times. Have advertised as closing at 10pm. Have called multiple times before they close to find out they are already closed. Just called now at 9:25 and the kitchen had closed…. You can see the attitude of the owner based on the name calling… should tell you plenty. If your kitchen closes at 9pm advertise it. Its not that hard and other businesses do it fine. Disappointed in the unprofessional reply to a serious matter regarding your business :/ . Go elsewhere.

I was surprised with their fresh roast duck, beautiful garlic beef eye fillet and freshly made sweet sour chicken of chinese cuisine, this is the best chinese restaurant in Bundoora or even north area of Melbourne ! :) always regular visit for lunch and dinner!

First of all, the customer service was above and beyond, almost to the point where it got a little uncomfortable at times. But that’s a lot better than no customer service at all. The staff were very nice and helpful. The food was really good with a wide range of Chinese dishes on the menu. Interior is clean and had an inviting atmosphere. Would definitely come again with friends and family :)

The food here is super tasty and will leave your mouth salivating and wanting more it will fill the whole in your stomach set in the heart of bundoora the staff are friendly and will greet you with a warm smile and a friendly hello so come on down and get a feed it's kid friendly why cook the prices are reasonable

I have been to this restaurant numerous times in the last month. It’s menu is varied covering Cantonese, Sichuan and other regional areas. Everything I ate was lovely with the standout dishes being the hot and sour soup, bbq pork, mapo tofu, spring onion pancake and lemon chicken. The best part of this restaurant though is the welcoming staff and the great atmosphere within the restaurant.

Restaurant situated next to car park entrance to Coles. Cramped inside the eating area. 7pm banquet took a while to get started. Adequate food, but "food court" mass produced quality. Take away meals partially prepared in the indoor eating area. Serving hatch and staff medications intruding into the eating area.

Last 3 times I've ordered takeaway here they've gotten things wrong. They used to be really good but it's really dropped off the past 2 months. Fantastic food and awesome service. This new restaurant is child friendly. Children's high chair was organised as soon as we walked in. Child friendly cutlery and bowls and free crackers. We were made to feel very comfortable. Peking duck was very juicy and tender. We definitely will be back again. Thank you to all staff. Highly recommended.

Really delicious Peking Duck. Comes in two options, we went with option 1 which had duck fried rice and deep fried salt and pepper duck bones.... So good! They make a great hot and sour soup too, the kind that punches you in the face, but in a good way! Lovely staff and very pleasant ambiance.

I am vegan and was impressed as to how Northern Delicious has some great vegan options. Will recommend to all vegans around the area. Btw my favourite was vegan fried rice, the traditional pumpkin soup & fried mix vegetables. Definitely worth every penny spent & very economical.

Beautiful roasts - BBQ pork(char siew) , roast pork(siew yoke) and duck. We/re Malaysian Chinese gourmet diners and we were absolutely impressed. Give it a go. The salt and pepper dishes had too much batter, but still crispy. (oh, the Western post name? That's just a pseudonym)

We had a very and experience takeaway. The Singapore noodles were grainy and too chilly The beef in the beef and blackbean was the worst quality beef I have ever had. I have had gum that was better. The fried rice was tasteless. Couldn't be more disappointed

The Peking duck here is amazing! An absolute gem in the north. This place is the only proper Chinese restaurant I've been able to find in the area, others although still good only serve up "gwei lo" Chinese food.

Great food and drinks at a licensed venue with diverse menu options. Fast service, friendly staff with fluent English, indoor and undercover outdoor seating, convenient parking. Look forward to coming back ☺️.

Ordered pecking duck and some seafood egg tofu claypot. The duck was beautifully cut and I loved the taste of the claypot was great. Definitely going back again.
