I went to this school three years ago and things still haven't changed, the lunch program is pretty pathetic. There are 2 tables to seat 40 kids, and they are in a tight hallway in between 2 bathrooms. And the principle does not care or respect others at all, There where some great teachers and a lot of bad teachers that make you feel like a failure. And there is no funds for the elementary only for the nellies which I think is really wrong. And if you think It is a good school then you were either a Nellie or a parent who did not go to the school. I am helping you out here do not send your kids to this school
i went here from preschool to grade 6. listen to me when i say they put an image to seem nice put in reality they don't care as much as they say they do. the daycare is very nice and honest program the school itself is uninviting cheap and doesn't care much about students. i doubt you should listen to a parent point of view and a students because its a whole different perspective on everything. personally the learning resources are limited and not as offered. the only good thing is the daycare downstairs. dont come at me lmao
I can only speak about the Nellie McClung Girl's Jr. High. Oliver School is like getting a private education for free (as it is fully-funded through Edmonton Public Schools). The girls in the program are confident, supportive, and strive for academic success, especially in the STEM courses. Uniforms create a sense of belonging and identity with the school. Oliver School is also a historic building with great character, the library is amazing.
My daughter has attended the Nellie McClung Girls program at Oliver School for the past 3 years. It has been an amazing experience. Small class sizes and a huge confidence boost for my daughter. She has focused on her academics, had a great time participating in the various sports teams and has made many (lifelong I am sure) friends during her years at Nellie. I wish they had a high school program!
It was as good school and I'm talking about Nelly mcclung I was there from grade 7 to grade 9 and it was a pretty good school except for when we had to go on lockdown. But it really helped me get the learning I needed cause I was really low in learning and now I'm doing OK in math and all my other subjects. I am now in 10th grade and I kind of miss my teachers from Nellie.
Not a very good school. Does not take care of aspects relating to bullying at all. Principal will try to push it on even first grader to prove there was no bullying. Couple of teachers are good. Overall not a great school. Need a lot of improvement to compete with other good schools.
Nellie McClung, located in Oliver School, is an AMAZING program for jr high girls with a STEM focus. Encouraging young women to be strong, independent and outspoken. Love love love the small class sizes and so much individual attention.
honestly not that great. Teachers are somewhat toxic and they act much more enthusiastic about their program than they are in reality. I know It's part of the "advertisement" but its really over done.
I went to this school kindergarten to grade 4 and I made some good friends but the school is really toxic and they say that there really nice and no bullying but people in that school bully everyone
The Nellie Mcclung program at Oliver school is great for young girls going into junior high. The uniforms are great, and the teachers are awesome! There isnt anything to complain about.
Love the Nellie Mc Clung junior high program. The teacher's and the principal their, are super friendly and willing to help when you need support.
horrible i went here from kinder to grade six and it was so bad im so happy im out of that toxic environment
I don't like this place. It smelled like sweaty feet.
