It was 8/5/2023. I brought my wife to the ED at Brookdale. I was very disappointed with the care we received My wife was c/o lethargy and abdomen pain so when came in they took the vital signs and I told Dr. if we do the HCG test and she ok and then my wife had urine and told there is not her name on the cup and she told my wife not to put her urine in the room because there are a lot of the cups setting there no name and said to my wife they will which is yours? We keep with us after 2hr LATER, Dr. Google came to tell us that the HCG results were negative. I was like, no we did not put her in the room, the nurse label her cup and nobody took her urine for tests. Guess what? after urine the right urine found it she was pregnant? That was the first scenario, which was unprofessional. 2nd scenarios did the blood work, and they did not tell about my labs results and asked Dr. or PA she told me that all labs are good.I requested the discharge paper and looked see my wife was Potassium was 6. 4 which was high normal was 3.5. 5 She told me do not worried and I said , are you tell me this is normal and she said let see what we can do for her. I was wow!!! one of the PCA came just to tell me let do EKG. This type of the Dr. is not a good. Finally, report it and told them Iam RN after that everything had changed. Please, I did not recommend this ER, otherwise your health is in danger. Also some Nurse are running away from you and see them and they keep avoided me because they knew what they are what doing. THANK YOU PCA THERE.

I was transferred from kingsbrook Jewish medical center emergency room to the Brookdale hospital because I need to be monitored for heart palpitation… this hospital is the worst place to be transferred for heart complication that you’re supposed to be monitored !! The nurses and staff are cold, rude, incompetent and arrogant! After a shift change no one knows what’s happening. If you don’t watch, they will mixed up your medicine.! The 24 monitoring heart… It’s a joke you could be unhooked for hours they don’t know it … what that means they’re not really monitoring … the machines goes off constantly due to inactivity, but no one come to check or properly hook them back on! Every single one, nurse or interns will say some the last one … your medication and blood work gets mixed up !! with the exception of one doctor, Alexa Kahn who is not a cardiologists, but happens to be kind and understanding which help me to get myself out of the hospital with discharge ! I would not recommend this hospital at all, under no circumstance!! The Cardiologis supposedly comes for her morning shift Dr. Syed I was told oh she came in the morning and left already which didn’t even bother to see a middle of the night transfer patient !!! There is no call button for the patients all night long patience, are screaming to get attention of somebody even when nurses have a station supposedly outside of their patients room sitting supposedly not far away from assigned patient’s room no one moves, or does anything!!!!

Hey the workers over in the psychiatric ward are not that professional and they’re on their phones way too much and leaning on the wall not to mention the group activities that i participated in weren’t enough, I think we need more activities as well as a place for patients to go for nature walk, I was in that Facility for 16 days and it was horrible.I also think It needs hygiene patrol/police for some of the patients not to mention a team of doctors approached me to help me but it felt very disoriented so we need more structure as a team in the facility and a park ,a park so patience could go for a walk and get fresh air have some outside activities inside the building and next time I would love if I could be debriefed on how long I would be staying here and the rules on how long I could be kept here since I was recommended by the cops not mention the doctor tried pulling a quick one on me with signing some papers it felt forced felt like I had to do it just to leave that painful facility so please I do not want anyone else to have to go through that or go through it again so please have a park we’re patient can go for a nature walk or please put a fake park in the building and keep the ventilation on with out that patience would that patience would feel like there suffocating just like I had…yours truly military vet btw

Terrible facility, if you care for your family and/or loved ones, don’t let them come here. I was self-admitted dealing with depression. My mind was in a bad place and my stay in the psych ward was terrible and didn’t help in anyway. The staff is worse than unprofessional, they’re straight up rude, disrespectful and demeaning. They’re supposed to be considerate of the patients’ conditions yet everyday they would be antagonizing patients that are obviously going through a tough time. Many times I’ve seen them outright laughing at and making fun of the patients. Even snapping and getting into arguments to the point of threatening to fight them. Any grievance you have with their treatment goes in one ear and out the other. Also extremely unsanitary. There was old, dried food and feces on walls that were never cleaned. There were also roaches crawling around and the food was terribly bland and served in small portions. The only way to pass time without your mental state degrading even further is watching tv and even then workers frequently act like they can’t find the remote. I regretted choosing this hospital everyday of my stay and even now I get stressed remembering my experience there. The only silver lining I can find in it all is that I went through it to prevent anyone else from having to. STAY AWAY!

BROOKDALE HOSPITAL DOES NOT DESERVE ANY STARS AT ALL NOT EVEN ONE STAR. ON OCTOBER 15, 2023 MY HUSBAND WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN, I HAD TO CALL THE AMBULANCE. THEY TOOK HIM TO BROOKDALE HOSPITAL AND HE WAS ADMITTED. TODAY DATE IS OCTOBER 20, 2023 AND HE STILL IN HOSPITAL. HE WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE SURGERY ON OCT 19, 2023 AND IT HAS BEEN CANCELED. THEN, THEY SAY HIS SURGERY WILL BE ON NEXT DAY. THAT TOO HAS BEEN CANCELED. I GO VISIT HIM EVERYDAY AND YOU HEAR OTHER NURSES AND STAFFS ARGUING AT EACH OTHER ABOUT THAT THEY DONT HAVE TIME TO TAKE CARE OF PATIENTS. I ASKED IF I CAN GET WATER FOR MY HUSBAND. STAFF ASKED THE OTHER STAFF BY THE NAME OF MS. ROBINSON IS THIS YOUR PATIENT, HE NEEDS WATER. SHE COMPLAINED ABOUT SHE BUSY TO GET WATER FOR MY HUSBAND. DO NOT COME TO THIS HOSPITAL, THERE ARE SO MANY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFFS THAT DO NOT WANT TO WORK. I AM PLANNING ON TRANSFERRING HIM OUT OF THIS HOSPITAL SO THAT HE CAN GET BETTER CARE FROM GOOD PROFESSIONAL STAFFS THAT TREAT PATIENTS WITH RESPECT.

As a Brownsville native, I have always heard the negative comments about Brookdale and was told to avoid it at all costs but my most recent experience has left me to write a review that states otherwise. I’m not sure about the other departments but I recently had an out-patient surgery done by Dr. Wendy-Ann Olivier and everything was done so professionally and courteously. From the attentiveness of the staff, everyone greeting you with a smile, assuring you that things will be fine, even down to the Doctoring welcoming me into the operating room with a song by one of my favorite artists, my experience was phenomenal. I did not see her at the hospital for appointments but she is a plastic surgeon affiliated with Brookdale in some capacity so the surgery was performed there and I do not regret it. In fact, I highly recommend her & her team. Only one week post-op but I love my results so far, much thanks to Dr. Olivier, her assistant Suzette, and her OR team!

I was micro chipped in this hospital when I had to have my upper jaw, closed for a hole that was there, due to my cleft palate. Surgeons did it for scientists that are located in a satellite ️ as a chain of command, misguiding my thoughts, imaginations, inner voice. They were the leading cause as to why I did what I did, thinking I was being guided of my own inner being, ideas, thoughts, an imaginations, caused me jail time, psych ward, lost my kid's to ACS more than one time. Talk about my daughter's private part, play with my private part, visionary, mentally wise. I don't have to be your kind, to not hear an believe that these things can actually be true, to be falsely accused, being called paranoia, schizophrenia, delusional crazy etc. When behind closed doors, while surgeons are operating on you, they know exactly what they be doing, an what is going on.

I came in to receive a medical report for an assault that happened to me. I arrived at brookdale about 9pm and it is 5am the next day and I am still waiting for radiology to PROCESS an X-ray. I needed the report to go along with my police report and hoped to have it done in time for me to return home to take my children to school. But alas it is 5am. I haven’t slept and brookdale once again proves why it needs to close down to benefit the community. The community it “serves” would be better off without it. Please close down this train wreck of a hospital and replace it with more a more adequate facility with real medical professionals. 8-9 hours for an X-ray and discharge paperwork is criminal. CLOSE IT DOWN

First off, I want to start by saying I had both my sons in Brookdale Hospital. I thought the labor and delivery were GREAT on how they walk you through they take very good care of your newborn and mom. However, the emergency low level was awesome, and then going upstairs, 5th floor, ICU staff are amazing. They do an excellent job!!!!!!! They made me feel comfortable they were attentive, and they made it an experience for me. It was TOP TIER, especially NURSE GANI she is amazing!!!!!! She was very kind and easy to talk to.... The doctors are very professional in their treatment and practice. However, the staff at the counter and some nurses have an unprofessional attitude, most of them are racist towards Latino people, today I saw an unacceptable treatment of the woman who is at the counter in the ophthalmology area, she refused to make an appointment with my mother, with an unacceptable attitude and it is a general problem of the staff who work in the counters to make appointments and serve the public. I hope this improves because this can lead to a bigger problem since I am not the only one who feels this racist and unprofessional attitude of this staff.

The worst hospital I have ever been to Hospital should be shutdown . Went in by ambulance for seizures I have, was put in a hallway for 2 days. Told nurse I had to use the bathroom and she paid no attention to me so as I lay there all dirty in the bed for 6 hours.Old Man on a bed next to me got up and smacked me across my face no one did nothing to help me. With all the officers and staff around me someone should have done something to help me. My wife called the hospital to find out where I was and she was told I was not there, come to find out they had me admitted under the wrong name.

The worse hospital to ever exist. Do yourself a favor take your loved 1 somewhere else, this place is an accident waiting to happen always. A death trap with a trauma unit, smh. How in the world is an elderly patient discharged with a picc line? And with drain bags that aren't collecting any fluid because the fluid is oozing out of whole around the tubing. All the D students have found jobs at Brookdale because they hire anyone, no understanding and no professionalism at all. No wonder there's never an administrator there or risk management. When will the state regulate this place?

Terrible!!!!!!!!! Worse hospital I ever been to in my life! I rather die than go here. All the staff have disgusting attitudes, they are so terrible people! I was admitted and was ignored every night!!! My Iv made my arm swell up like a balling and none of the nursing staff came to change and correct the way the iv that was given to me! I would rather perish than ever be taken to this place. In 2012, my grandpa came in with pnemonia, they took cat scan, which then was sent to CHINA to be read..... let that sink in. Altough, the nurses on the floor were so sweet and absolutely caring, the whole experiance was SCARY i thought something can happen to my grandpa, and always mentally carried with me certain place rather stay far away from .... this place is scary from start to finish .

I was recently here all I can say this is one of the worst hospitals in nyc I was in so much pain I had to wait to be checked by a nurse ! All the staff are unprofessional! The hospital itself is EXTREMELY DIRTY I was disgusted to even walk around and use the restroom just nastiness this hospital needs new nurses , doctors and RENOVATIONS every inside seems old even the chairs ! Horrible Hospital. Undermines patient’s condition and keeps them for over 3 hours. The staffs are incredibly unprofessional and they only had one doctor treating emergency patients. If you don’t want to work there. DONT. These are peoples lives you playing with. CityMD will get you taken care WAY faster than this joke of an “emergency room”. It seems like I’m not the only one feeling this way. Close this place down. Period.

If i could rate this hospital a 0... I would. I've watch people come in the ER,with head wounds pouring out blood... And be told to wait. But today... I seen a lady just walk in and sit down and jump on her phone. 3mins later a nurse came from the back & hugged her... And took her right to the back to see a doctor(pay in mind...the lady didn't even sign in). Now i see why,people call this hospital "Broke Down"

the attention is very poor, I really would not recommend it. I wish more people knew this and never have to go to this hospital ever again. I was in too much pain yesterday, hours passed and they simply did not attend to me, the doctor disregarded me and nobody cared, I simply had to leave barely able to walk and take out the intravenous line that I had in my arm myself. now I feel worse!

Worst hospital ever. Dirty, unprofessional staff, unorganized and unsanitary. There’s feces at the entrance of the emergency room. Someone spit on the door and it stayed there. The staff are falling all over each other and I don’t think they know what customer service means. They need to change management because this isn’t working.

This is the worst the hospital in Brooklyn. It's hard to believe a hospital could be like that. The staffs super unprofessional and neglect their responsibility. The wait is beyond ridiculous in the emergency room, you’ll literally wait here for a 3 - 6 hours+. The hospital is dusty and could use a much needed renovation. Some of the staff could use some serious manners. Everybody has days when they don’t want to be bothered but when you work at a hospital be friendly and patient.

Every time my mother has to come to this hospital it’s just pure nonsense. Zero communication between staff so nothing is timely. Some of the doctors are good and others are horrific! You have to continually ask for information that otherwise should be given to you freely. I do not recommend sending your loved ones here!

When I tell you my experience at this hospital was amazing, words can’t describe it!! From the screening, the doctors and staff in the OR and recovery, and the hospital staff(all of the shifts). My stay was incredible. Oh let me not forget the dietary and custodians. God Bless our medical field community!

This is probably the worst hospital in NYC transfer anyone that you love out of here. I came here w a broken back. They had me lay down for 6 hours filled me up with pills after I started screaming in excruciating pain and then released me with a walker, socks and no shoes.

I had great experience with Dr. Lewis on the first floor in the express emergency room.He talked me through the hole procedure. Made feel comfortable also like he knows what he's doing.. This was the best experience I ever had dealing with medical issue.
