This is an ethnology museum featuring the heritage of the Orang Asli (Native Malaysian) crafts in Peninsular Malaysia. It features a number of items and details about their culture, beliefs, myths, legends, and other crafts - 156 pieces in all. It has gained regional recognition from UNESCO for its focus on elaborately carved figurines and masks. It also focuses on the cultural aspects of death, hunting and fishing, music, wardrobes, and weaving. One of our favorite pieces is the Wayang Kulit, which is "a form of traditional theater that applies the principles of light and shadow. The shadow effect is achieved when light is beamed into the figures, carved to represent various imaginary characters, and performed by the 'Tok Dalang' (Puppet Master) in accordance with his narrative against a white piece of cloth - a screen - which has been stretched tout to provide a backdrop for the shadows." Musical instruments would also accompany the performance!

Located at Jalan damansara KL. Showcases the arts and handicrafts of the Orang Asli people, the aboriginal communities who dwell mostly in rural areas across the Malaysian Peninsula. This is a small but very interesting museum with material that you won’t see elsewhere except perhaps in the other Orang Asli. The quality of the carvings is very high. Very nice place to visit with your family and children!!recomended!! Best place to know cultural of orang Asli. Lot of things we can learn and see here. Price its reasonable. Please come to museum orang Asli.
The faces of Orang Asli people on the wall don't differ much from the majority of Malay population. The small exhibition portraits them in hunting gear which look more line role play costumes. The lady explaining to me about the handicrafts made for tourists, not a very profitable income, turns out to be an Orang Asli herself. The aboriginals living both in Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo are more and more integrating to the modern society as means of survival
I love going to museum and exploring other cultures so this museum is recommended for those who have the same interest with me. All the crafts are totally beautiful and displayed the history of Orang Asli. Must bring your families and friends to visit here. Also it near to other attractions so you can go visit other places after visiting here.

The Orang Asli natives' wood masks are displayed in a small exhibit. There are pictures of some musical instruments and caskets. It is a tiny exhibit, and admission was free. It shuts down at 17:00. It can be found at the parking area alongside other museums and an outdoor display of vehicles near the National Museum (Malay: Muzium Negara). (trains, buses and a Malaysian made airplane)
Small museum with wood mask made by indigenous Orang Asli people. Some burial coffins and music instruments are shown. It is a very small museum, entry was free. It closes at 17:00. This small museum is located outside the National Museum's main entrance. I went there immediately after visiting the National Museum and received free admission by displaying my ticket from that institution. This is a small museum. However, it contains some interesting artefacts, videos, and photographs about the Orang Asli.

The museum is located near parking lot and the city tour bus station, and the national museum is just hundred meters away. For tickets, foreign adults 5rm, locals 2rm. There are two exhibition halls. Lots of informations about Orang Asli, I like the handmade masks, "bags" and baskets, instruments, headgears and even the coffins..
Brilliant little craft musium on the same site as the national museum. Ticket is 5rm for foreigners which also gives entry to another cultural musium. Well worth a visit to learn about the native crafts.

Small museum showcasing the way of life of the indigenous people. The entrance fee is 5 ringgit which I thought it was too much considering the national museum is only 2 ringgit.

Very good explanations of the life of native peoples in Malaysia. Only full accounting I've seen of the various animus spirits and the crossover with Islam. Good for kids, it's small and manageable, very cheap to enter compare to other.

If you enjoy the native arts and culture, this is the perfect place to visit, I realized the local indigenous arts are almost similar to African native arts, but that's my opinion.
