The selection of baked goods and sweets drew me in but the overall experience left me underwhelmed. The atmosphere is appealing but the ordering experience was unpleasant. I felt rushed and questioned at every turn. I walked up to the counter with my vaccine card and ID ready based on what I had seen from customers that were in line before me. She seemed confused and asked if I planned on dining in. After ordering my vegetable quiche, chocolate almond croissant, and amaretto hot chocolate with almond milk, I found a table near the barista. She brought me my drink and for the cost, I would have rather had some instant hot chocolate mix poured into warm milk. It was nothing to write home about. If you are in a pinch and want to grab a sandwich or salad, I would say this is your place. If you want a nice warm drink and baked good, I might consider looking into other options. I would go back to try out other sweets but only if I was with someone else that insisted we go to this location in particular. Tl;dr PAUL Franklin Square is pricey and underwhelming but it will satiate your desire for a niche meal and drink.

One of the best places to grab a quick breakfast if you want quiet in the morning or a fast lunch during the day. And yes this is the same Paul bakery you’ll find in Paris. My favorite was the blueberry tart but they stopped making it a few years back, but I still love the prosciutto sandwiches. This morning I had a sausage, egg and cheese croissant and my friend had the ham and cheese one. We finished with pistachio and raspberry macaroons. It’s a great place for a quick bite to eat, and quiet first thing in the morning.

Love, love, love this place. Is it a little pricey? Yes. But this is DC and the quality is fantastic!! Seriously…best almond croissant I’ve ever had. The sandwiches rival what I ate when I lived in Germany and the coffee is very good. There’s also seating available both inside and outside. I would go here every day if I could! It’s probably for the best that I don’t live nearby but I wish I did!

Everyone was very friendly and the coffee I ordered was great. But there were two rather large cockroaches running around on the counter. Unfortunately I saw them after I ordered my croissant so that went right into the trash. Review would be good if hygiene was better

I had a great experience at Paul Franklin. I was extremely excited about the diverse options of sandwiches, salads, pastries and more. I went on a double date there which was great. They have plenty of seating and space to get work done if you’re looking to study.

There are not too many variations of sandwiches. The coffee was very good. The cost for small coffee with caramel 7.68$ is way too high compared to its taste. The brownies cakes came with a strange texture. We have left some.. fresh squeezed orange juice was great.

Fabulous corner French style coffee shop. Stylish decor without blaring music for a change. I ordered an almond croissant and a latte. Both items were excellent. The service was fast and friendly. I would return on a future trip to DC!

Wonderful bakery and sandwich shop on the corner of 13th and K. Worth a stop and visit. Varied options (both sandwiches and bakery items) available for your enjoyment. Delicious, great set up and seating and a warm and friendly staff.

Service was just average, the pastries were pretty mid. Not impressed whatsoever, order a flat white and tasted burnt.
