OMG, this place was such a wonderful find and we happened to stumble upon it. Everything about it was great!! The book selection was very satisfying, the art work is beautiful, the energy of the store is peaceful, there are nice seating areas and snacks for purchase. I love the importance of community and how it's reflected as well. The owners are very personable and you can see their passion reflected throughout the space. A Must Visit!! I wanted to purchase so many more books but I was traveling and my luggage was already a bit tight. Will definitely visit again in the future.

This place is amazing. All kinds of different works and in different languages. All categories from kids, to teen, to historical, etc, etc. Beautiful spaces and incredibly kind people. I'm a teacher and it's great they offer a discount. There are also events from time to time that I will be checking out whenever I can, as well as enjoying the coffee shop that's there too. Not sure if they have like a "return and earn" program (return the book and get more store credit), but that would be something to add. I'll definitely be back. I loved this place and I think you will too.

We always pass by but this time decided to pop in. I'm happy we did. I'm always intimidated by small businesses because I feel like it's too intimate and makes room for awkward moments but the young lady that made our coffee was so nice and gave off great energy she even gave us a mini tour. She was so nice! Next time ill be sure to take my time in looking at the books. I'll be back for sure

This place is not just my favorite bookstore but my all time favorite place. I think when I die, Heaven will just be Palabras but with all my childhood pets. I haven't been able to go in person since the pandemic, but the online ordering has been saving my life. Excellent communication when there's a delay and lots of awesome books available. Can't wait to be able to attend events there again!

Glorious & large bookstore/community center with good and a wide, beautifully diverse selection of books, cards, stationery, games, tarot cards, and other print media in English and Spanish. I love the spaces for seating, various rooms for exploration and true community entrepreneurship. Phenomenal teas brewed by one of the owners. A perfect place to spend a relaxing morning or afternoon.

Great community-centered, multi-cultural bookstore! My purchases were regarding: An American 'black' social study titled, 'Black Like Me' that was a must in the 70's... AND, A Native American children's story with illustrations, signed by the author! THUS, This is really a multi-cultural bookstore with lots of cool books, all within Coronado walking distance! Thank you for your presence!

This is an amazing little independent bookstore! Since I am a school teacher and a mom, I mostly looked at the children's books. They have both new and used books that are bilingual in Spanish and several other languages. I attended when they were having a special celebration. We found several great books for my son and my classroom along with a few for me from the $1.00 cart!

Palabras serves as a wonderful community center for bilingual folks, people who want to learn spanish or english, and every community member. They have a wonderful extensive selection of books. You'll always find something unexpected but delightful. The owner and staff are great people and are really dedicated to the cause of Palabras. By far my favorite bookstore in the world

Edited review with add in from owners response - Very small bookstore. It does have some parking right out front, which is nice. I was welcomed upon entry which is nice. Response from owner -Backroom with seating as well seating in gallery space, picnic tables, benches and a hammock in our backyard.- during my visit the Court yard/back yard had vendors which was a nice touch.

Palabras Bilingual Bookstore has been my favorite bookstore since they opened in 2015. Their selection of books is very intentional and you will find books there you won't find on other bookstore shelves. They're very community minded and host a ton of great events throughout the year. It's one of my favorite spots to hang out and pick up a book!

This bookstore setting is such a beautiful and peaceful space. There is much to look at, lots of color, interesting topics and lots of unique items especially to give as gifts. Also the art by Jeff Slim is incredible! By far one of my favorite places to visit in Phoenix!

  • Tri Vo

Lots of variety of books emphasizing themes and peoples living on social, political, and economic margins. Got a good stack of titles at fair prices to bring back to MN, where I doubt I'd find as many similar copies of. Great zine shop and library next door, too.

Palabras is an awesome place. I get bilingual books for my kiddo here. The Nurture House hosts some wonderful events featuring local artists that are inclusive and free to the public. This building is a gem and a keystone of the Roosevelt/Grand Ave community.

Palabras is a store who knows who it is. And that includes so many titles that would be hard to find in mainstream bookstores, as well as some amazing local art. They also provide community support and mutual aid. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
