Initially they were great. I wasn't sure exactly what size plumbing parts I needed and they helped me figure it out and said I could take a few options and return what I didn't use. When I came back to return what I didn't use (about R120) they charged a R20 return fee. When I complained that they never warned me there would be a return fee and that they shouldn't charge it without warning first, the guy became grumpy and angry. Disappointing that what started well ended so negatively. I wouldn't go back again.

I was referred to Parkhurst Paint and Hardware when I needed to buy large amounts of single-colour key tags. Michael contacted me even before I had time to pick up the phone to enquire. My order was ready within hours and I was kept updated every step of the way. The service is simply exceptional, the products top-notch and the price just-right. And all of that with a smile?! I highly recommend Parkhurst Paint and Hardware.

I've always found the staff working here to be very knowledgeable and helpful, and prices very reasonable. If they don't have something that one needs (which is rare) they are happy to order it for you. Or to refer you to people who can make something specifically for you - e.g. non-standard steel shelf supports.

I have had cause to visit Parkhurst Paint and Hardware regularly since moving into the area. A friendly bunch of guys offer all kinds of advice and assistance and have a wide range of hardware and paint. They always seem to have what I need. Pricing is certainly competitive too.

They may initially seem gruff and surly, and the shop might seem small but don’t be fooled - these hardware experts have huge breadth of knowledge and merchandise, as well as hearts of gold. I’ve yet to find something they don’t stock, the place is like a Mary Poppins bag!

The kind of place, where you go in for a screw and come out with a range of screws and a power-driven screw driver - with a smile on your face....... Those brothers have a well-stocked spot. Great service and good range of stuff for a small/local hardware store.

Horrible horrible shopping experience. Firstly the price we got for paint was changed and increased by cashier with no explanation. They use methylated Spirit as sanitiser. I asked them how safe it is, the same cashier responded that is 100% safe..

A great family run neighborhood hardware. They now have an expanded paints department and lots of bits and bobs you will not find in much larger brand hardware shops. The staff are knowledgeable and always keen to help.

Good place but a bit creepy the men that own it are quite weird people, my only complaint is that the glue they sell are steel and they are meant to be a hardware and have tons of glue. So well done Pain and Hardware

Small store but packed with most hardware items you are likely to need. Prices are competitive with larger alternatives (e.g. Builders Express in Craighall) & the service level is much, much higher
