….Seen that we are celebrating our 45th Wedding Anniversary we decided to come and celebrate it here and this is our first visit to Patina’s but we have been in this building before when it was another restaurant, so we will be discovering if there are any or some real changes to this venue. Outside at the entrance we still found the water-feature which is still working and water flowing and the soothing sound of running water is always a very welcoming sound which promotes relaxation. They provide seating outside under large umbrellas and on the veranda. Inside we encountered that yes they have made some major changes with regard to the wall colouring a cool-grey and the wall-decor framed black-ink drawings and some wall were broken out making the place look and feel much bigger and airy. Our waiter today is James a nice pleasant and very kiff young man who served us well with much respect. As it is an outing of celebration we thought it only proper to order a bottle of bubbly and guess what we found on the Wine-List a Pinot Noir Rose’ Sparkling-Wine called “LOVE SONG” which we ordered and was true-lii not disappointed. The restaurant menu is about four pages in a neat binder. For starters we ordered 1. Snails (garlic butter & ciabatta) 2. Calamari Tubes (parmesan risotto, lemon) 3. Prawns (peri-peri) All our starters were absolute-lii delicious and we enjoyed it very much. For mains we ordered 1. Pork Loin Ribs (600g) with Sweet-potato chips (the meat was so tender and well prepared that it fell of the bone) 2. Lamb Wing Rib with chips (400g) again the meat was prepared as ordered, medium and it was insidious-lii delicious. 3. Peppered Fillet with chips (200-300g) mixed peppercorns, parmesan pepper-sauce here again the fillet was done to perfection and the meat was of a good grade, succulent and very taste-ii. We ordered only two desserts 1. Creme Brûlée (meringue, fresh berries) so cream-ii and delicious 2. Baked Cheesecake served with a dash of ice cream (roasted coconut crumble, white chocolate, strawberries) one time the best ever cheesecake and a treat that must be tried when at this establishment. This restaurant has an ambience of its own, where all the staff are friend-lii and all wearing their mask to comply with safe Covid-19 protocols. The rest-rooms are clean and very user friend-lii. We high-lii recommend this restaurant and will be back soon…….15/12/2020..Today we arrived here without any reservation and we could see that they are full with many companies having their Year-End functions, but they were to happy to oblige by making place for four more patrons and prepared a table on the veranda under the big white umbrellas for us. We once again enjoyed ourselves with a bottle of "Cape Minstrel" Pinotage, Grilled Marrow-Bone starter, Calamari-Tubes, Pork-sparerib, Lamb Rib-eye and a Chateaubriand-Steak for our mains which was awesome-lii delicious. The Affogato was extreme-lii nice...we just love this venue and will always come back here to dine......Today! 1 April 2021....We are here to have dinner and as always its only a joy and a pleasure to be here to be served by eager and willing waitrons and to experience the how the chef is so obliging even to make a change in the way a dish is normal-lii served...it was awesomeness....

My husband and I took a drive in the mood to try a new place in our area. We popped in to Patina for an early dinner and were immediately accommodated before the dinner rush despite not having reserved a table. How kind! The service was efficient, and our food came to our table within a decent amount of time. Everything was delicious and skillfully prepared! I just can't get enough of their chunky fries, which are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and not one drop of grease. Thank you! The peppered steak was a little too peppered for my personal tastebuds, but it was certainly flavourful, and the meat delish. Now they call themselves a steakhouse, and boy Joe, they can indeed! The cuts of meat were quality and then seasoned and cooked to perfection. I loved the classy decor and noticed the custom wallpaper designed with their icon logo. Very clever and unique! I especially appreciated the attention to detail, like, for example, the consistent tending to a hearty fire and following up on our dessert order. We shall definitely be returning as this may now be our new favourite restaurant! ✨️

Great food, everyone cleaned their plates and between our party, we had a mix of the limited menu options. Everyone enjoyed the food and thought it was well prepared and good quality. The wine order we placed was wrong but luckily, we asked not to open it when the person who ordered wasn't there when it was brought to the table. Sadly, the service (from the Waiter) was below mediocre, I asked him for a smaller takeaway box and he was extremely arrogant, a bit rude even one would say as he told me that the meat needs to breathe and needs space. Refer to the pics. We were doing restaurant and pub hopping and I didn't want the bigger size box. We stayed a while longer before moving to the Gin bar, so he had plenty of time to bring a smaller box as per my request and turn the situation around even as I said at the time of his response on the size of the box, that I am putting that in my review, he didn't even seem phased at all. At the gin bar, we asked for the first round of shots, if we could have the bill and the waiter on that side, acknowledged that he heard and understood the request but he still went and added everything together and the person who was meant to pay for the shots, ended up having to wait and not leave at the time he intended.

I decided to take my family here for our Christmas lunch. The place was easy to find, and the parking was very good. The overall atmosphere was great. Our reserved table was inviting with Christmas crackers placed for each sitting. Due to the volumes of diners, we had to wait in excess of 40 minutes for our meals. This was the only reason I could not rate 5 stars. Although when management noticed this, they immediately approached our table, apologized, and offered free cocktails and ice cream for my grandson. The meals were very well prepared. The meats were tender, and everyone of my family loved it. Desserts were excellent, well portioned, and quality ingredients. Except for the wait, it was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely return.

We ended up here after being disappointed by The Terrace restaurant next door who bungled our booking. Michayla was outstanding in accommodating us and saving a special day for us. Clint whom we figured is the manager is a legend and easily the best in the business anywhere, he went all out to make sure we were comfortable. The menu here is diverse with generous helpings, we really enjoyed the flavorful and well presented food. The ambience is top class, the fire place brought warmth for a chilly and rainy day and is in sync with the service here. The decor has been well thought out, on the warm and welcoming side. Everything is perfect here. Collins who took care of us is amazing and was a fantastic host with outstanding sales skills. In the end we were happy to have missed the terrace, Patina is good fate .

@patinasteak_daria What a perfect lunch .. celebrating Woman’s Day. We made no reservation but received such a warm welcome from front of house Excellent service by Bongani who kept us entertained and never once forgot a thing he was exceptional. We were brought fantastic wine @daria_winery … couldn’t resist the second bottle.. Hubby and I both ordered the fillet steak one peppered and one with Bearnaise sauce .. medium rare and absolutely perfect. We agreed it was our best ordered steak yet as it was just cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully.. we eat out a lot and this was the best steak. So good in fact we didn’t want it to end. The sides of grilled vegetables, onion rings and sweet potato fries were all great too. We then decided to try a cheesecake and it was divided in yo to perfect portions as we decided to share… Again absolutely delicious and enjoyed the toasted coconut… We then enjoyed another glass of wine by the fire at the bar and enjoyed the vibe and comfort .. what a great day … Highly recommended

We've been to Patina a few times and had a great experience, even saying it will be our go to hang out spot as it's close to home. But today was such a disappointment, firstly when I made my booking I was explicitly (more like a warning) told the kitchen closes at 5, our booking was for 3. Then when we got there we were seated in an area which was literally infested with flies, and it got worse when our starters arrived. We asked to be moved, as there was no other solution. But the new seating area was just as bad. We chose to finish our meal but while doing so staff decided that it was a good time to mop the floors, obviously wanting us to get a move on as we were the only ones there. It was 4.30 pm, you people close at 5.30 pm. They whole experience was bad. If you choose to remedy one thing, please do something about the flies. It was super unhygienic and gross.

We had an amazing dining experience at Patina thanks to the exceptional service provided by Clint, the manager, and our waiter, Collins and for Mikayla for stepping up and assisting us, after being let down by the Terrace restaurant, Clint went above and beyond to accommodate us last minute. Words can not describe his patience and heart, he understands exactly what hospitality is. Collins not only delivered top-notch service but also added humor to our day, making it truly enjoyable. The staff's dedication and hospitality turned what could have been a disappointing night into a fantastic one. I highly recommend Patina for their outstanding service and delicious food!

We arrived and were greeted by a nice and friendly staff. We went to the back of the restaurant, it was a bit hot and we asked for them to turn the air conditioner on, but after multiple requests we decided to just move outside. We waited a long time for the food because there was a wedding going on at the time. When the food finally arrived it was very delicious and had great flavor. We ordered desert but it was just taking to long so we decided to cancel it and just get the bill. In conclusion the food was good but I feel like they should have just closed the restaurant and prioritized the wedding for the day, after all would definitely go back to give it another go.

Google is a great search engine when looking for a restaurant to enjoy dinner at. I found Patina when searching the area closest to our hotel. And did we enjoy our experience at Patina. The service was excellent, thanks Mario. And the food was . I had one of the best Chalmar sirloin steaks ever. And my hubby thoroughly enjoyed the baby kingklip. We were also fortunate to have a lovely quiet corner in the restaurant where we could enjoy our dinner date. This is a busy place. I think there are 3 restaurants on the farm. We will definitely go back when we are in the area again, hope to receive the same level of service and quality of food again. Thanks Patina⭐

We had our work function at Patina. We arrived at 13h00 as scheduled, ordered our drinks and set menu options at 13h40. We got our starters at 14h50 and our mains after 16h20 and dessert at 16h45. Our boss complained and received no explanation for the horrendous food delivery. The food was good but waiting over an hour for food and a lunch reservation having mains three hours after ordering set menu items is horrendous. Some staff had to get takeaway boxes for their mains as they had to leave to get transport or catch a flight.

Let me recount my delightful experience at this restaurant. At first, the service was a bit slow, but as the evening unfolded, it took a remarkable turn and became truly great. Now, let me dive into the highlight of the evening—the food! Each dish was cooked to perfection, leaving me completely satisfied. The sauces, oh my goodness, were absolutely heavenly, elevating the flavors and bringing pure delight with every bite. We couldn't resist the temptation and ended up ordering a few extra items, and to our delight, they exceeded our expectations as well. Every element came together flawlessly, resulting in a truly perfect dining experience.

After a long day of hiking we wanted to treat ourselves for dinner. While there are many winerys and restaurants in the region we found Patina and decided to go there mainly because of the good reviews. And I'm glad we did. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and enjoyed every minute of our visit. The service was really good and so was the food. In fact the steak (Ribeye) was one of the best I have ever had. The manager even came to our table and asked if there was anything else he could help us with. There wasn't since we were perfectly happy.

An exceptional culinary experience. A short but well put together menu catering for anyone and everyone. The quality of the meals are top class. Presentation and taste of the highest quality. Megan was a waiter whom I couldn't fault on anything. Friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and well mannered. Set on a well known wine farm, the atmosphere on the stoep was so serene and relaxing, despite the vibrant laughter and conversation of guests. What an absolute enriching experience all around. I had marrow bones, and I can without hesitation recommend the baby Kingklip. Well done you guys, I'll definitely be back

Last Sunday we popped in for lunch. It's a really nice and cosy restaurant with a fireplace which kept us warm on a cold and rainy day. I initially wasn't sure if they catered for kids but they do have kids menu options. I opted for the 350g sirloin, cooked medium rare as always. Was a really good steak, but the highlight had to be the bone marrow starter which was so amazing.

Always excellent options. Met up with a long standing friend, I haven’t seen for ages, for a quick drink and snacks in front of the cosy fire in the ladies bar on a cold and rainy day, late afternoon on a Monday. We shared a bottle of bubbly with a variety of snacks from the tapas menu, which included chili poppers, friets (chips) and potato and bacon fritters. A cosy catch up in beautiful surrounds with excellent service. Always a great ‘go to’ option. Excellent steak too!

Extraordinary. We experienced a delicious supper at Patina's. Clint met us at the door with a firm handshake and set us at our table close to the fireplace. Patina meets an elite standard. The staff was always ready to help and the service was above average. The premises are clean, with a lovely atmosphere. The food was both delicious and beautifully presented. We were extremely impressed and overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I’d love to visit again. I'd recommend it as a nice place to go with friends, family, or a partner.

The food was excellent. One of the best steaks I have had in a long while. The service was not bad, but it did not match the high quality of the food. Would I recommend this restaurant ... for sure! One goes for the food but the manner in which you are treated makes the experience special or not. Still some learning to do there, I'm afraid.

The “Patina Steak House” is my favorite local steak house in combination with the integrated lounge “Botany”. The steaks are excellently prepared. The service is always welcoming, well trained and attentive. The icing on the cake would be for them to serve Roast Beef sandwiches in the bar.

I will gladly give this restaurant 5 stars. Excellent service. Cheerful staff. Steak done to my specifications (which are sometimes a bit finicky, but they pulled it off nonetheless). Well done , Patina.

Patina really surprised me, the food is so so good. I’ve been here twice and every time I was blown away. The Fillet Champignon… soft and juice, tasty, I could sing a song about it, its that good!! I had mine with the Risotto side.. Yum!! …

Lovely food. Lovely waiter, but for some reason the manager delivered only 1 of the starters, had to ask our waiter and he went to fetch it. Also, serve ladies first! Ottherwise, fantastic

Lovely lunch in the country side with delicious food. Service was good and so was the vibe. We had pepper fillet, calamari tubes with risotto, onion rings , baked cheesecake. Plating was well done, we’ll go back to try more dishes.

Indoors has cosy feel without feeling stuffy. I had the best and most filling calamari meal. It came on a bed of an amazing risotto. Plus we had good service from our waiter. Prices were quite decent. I'd go back. More

Food was very average. One prawn was undercooked and the rest were overcooked. Very noisy and busy! Not if you are looking for a conversation. Toilets awful!

The food here was really good. And everything was pretty. The ribs and milkshake were amazing. Not a big fan of thier fries, the sweet potato ones were way better. The service here was really great as well.

Excellent value for money. Current special 200gr Fillet @ R125 Great service and excellent ambiance. Steak melts in your mouth. Onion Rings to die for. Only downside I would prefer fresh cut chips
