The only place in Melbourne I've found that stocks New Rock boots, great range of boots and shoes overall from good brands. Owner comes across as very blunt, almost to the point of being rude, however, and when you're not directly talking to him usually has headphones in paying no attention to customers. I took the boots I bought from him in for a repair as a lace hook had fallen out, to find out that he doesn't stock any spare New Rock parts despite selling the hard-to-find brand, and then charged me $29 for a $3 (his own admittance) simple lace hook that took less than a minute to put in- as the only alternative was shipping the genuine part from Spain myself. With the prices he charges for New Rock and Demonia boots, you're better off buying them online. I don't recommend this place at all, the extra star is only because of the genuinely great range of rare and desirable shoes and boots they stock, and it's a great place to see how these shoes fit before buying them.

Had 2 pairs of leather shoes repaired here not long ago. The price was more than I expected for both pairs and I got the feeling it was more based on the value of the shoes than the actual repair. The customer service is direct and lacking any of the warm and fuzzy you normally associate with customer service. I tried calling the phone number on google a bunch of times and it never got answered. I arrived to collect my shoes one morning to find the shop closed with a sign saying they would be opening later at a certain time but that time was already 30 minutes past and it was still closed. However, the workmanship was awesome. You wouldn’t know they were repaired which at the end of the day is the most important aspect of this service. If you can deal with the rest then I would recommend this as a place to get good quality shoe repairs.

save your money and your product by not going here!! I went to fix the zip from my bag which fell off, I provided the original zip which had a leather decor attached. I got my bag back, and the leather decor is missing, my bag does not zip all the way and now there is a gap at the end of my bag where you can see the lining inside and what's in my bag, things could easily fall out. charged a ridiculous price for fixing A ZIP and did not even fix it so my bag could close all the way, plus the piece from my original zip is missing? its giving LAZY.

I’m hoping the owner of this store reads this review. I came in on Saturday and had two keys cut. You charged me a very high price for this but I payed without saying a word. When I got home one of the keys you cut doesn’t even fit into the lock. So I feel a bit ripped off, I live very far from fountain gate and only came in because I was in the area for business. We nearly didn't go because people said it was overpriced and the owner was rude Neither is the case, quality service costs money. The owner was blunt but not rude, he knows what he's talking about. People are too sensitive and don't understand that to rent the store, materials, machinery, and the skills cost a lot of money. Completely reasonable prices.

Very disappointed that the 2 green keys we got cut here this morning have actually been cut on a shorter blank so I am unable to open the padlock. I have tried ringing many times and phone has not been answered and I have left 3 messages. Would like to be reassured that I will receive a refund of $20. PS We live over 50 kms from Fountain Gate.

The worker who I presume is the manager/owner based on the other reviews is one of the most rude condescending person that I have ever encountered in customer service. Every question that was asked was answered in the most snark way. I would advise for you to avoid this store.

Don't get glass engravings here. I paid a lot of money for lettering that looks like it has been scribbled on by a child. Terrible job. Was going to give an engraved glass as a present and upon seeing the result it was ungiftable. Man was also very arrogant and unfriendly.

I’ve had only a positive experience. I found the owner helpful and knowledge and not rude. As for costs, this is a dying skill and it costs money to run a shopfront in a mall. To fix up quality shoes, the prices are reasonable.

Make sure you ask the guy there the cost for getting a key cut BEFORE he does the job. I saw him charge someone else $10 then when he did mine in 1-2 mins he charged $24.95. Total rip-off.
