A massive shout out to the gorgeous friendly knowledgeable manager Gen the Gem! She was super helpful and very sensitive and accomodating as I had a bad day in tears as my dog is 17 and was struggling that week. Gen offered her help and to listen to me without judgment or rushing me as it was closing time. I had heard her speaking with a client with a new pup and as a I am a dog beahviourist I was so happy to hear her recommend enrichment products and items the owner obviously wasn’t familiar with but also why he should buy them and what a puppy needed moving forward. It is very rare that within the pet industry retail staff are savvy and want to provide above and beyond the usual sales pitch. I have been a manager in retail, a dog grooming business owner, a dog behaviourist and advocate for pet health for more than 10 years and I naturally exceeded sales for that business due to my passion for all things that benefited the dog and owners. It wasn’t about making a sale rather that I had experience with products and knew what worked and passionate about providing clientele with that knowledge. Gen you are truly a breath of fresh air the reason I would come back to Pet Barn Rozelle! You are a massive benefit a Gem for customers and for those who work with you. And to Pet barn I would think that you recognise a leader and she is passionate about her job and helping others. I would hope that she is promoted and or at the least rewarded for her efforts because you can’t teach these qualities and she should be recognised for adding so much to your business and sales successes. if she worked for me I would give her an opportunity to train my staff and educate those she manages about the importance of product knowledge; using the product; asking suppliers for information about products you sell; doing the work to know as many products available and what they do; confidently offer advice and provide product knowledge and educate dog owners based on wanting to do more than expected. Anyone can sell but not everyone can up sell or personally stand behind a product. The Pet industry is growing rapidly and there are many products to choose from but what’s needed are passionate smart and friendly customer service representatives employed and rewarded for their efforts that perform beyond their job description!

I've been going to this Petbarn for years, since they opened in fact. Each time that I dealt with them I was told that I didn't have to worry about our picky cavoodle not liking the food that I purchased because they have a "return if they don't like it" returns policy. Today, for the first time, I tested the policy and found it to be completely incorrect. I went into Pet Barn as per normal and picked out a bag of FurFresh Australian Whole Raw Salmon Bellies for our dog. This was at 11:00 am. I walked 2 blocks to my office, opened the bag and gave it to our dog who sneezed a few times and backed away from the treat. I wasn't worried, because of the return policy, so I picked it up and walked back down to exchange them for something else. I was told that I could not return treats, only food, unless the treats made my dog sick. Few things to wonder about here.... 1- Since when are treats not food? 2- How is a customer to know that treats are not food? 3- Why would they have a different policy for a large bag of food as opposed to a small bag of food? 4- What is the distinction between food and a $20 bag of Salmon Bellies really? 5- I had the food for 15 minutes total and none was missing as my dog literally backed away from the salmon When the girl at the register told me this interpretation of their policy, I was stunned, so she went back to check with the manager. The manager confirmed that there would be no refund for the bag of fish that I mistakenly thought was food. I left the shop, and the bag of Salmon Bellies, behind me today. So if your dog likes them, please, go to the shop and claim them for yourself! My treat. Meantime, Pet Barn has lost a loyal customer over $20 worth of food that could have been fed to visiting doggies. As a business owner, seems like a serious false economy to me. After all, it's not like there are not other pet stores around. PetO is 10 minutes away from here, is cheaper and has a much larger selection. Problem solved

Asked for a simple flea treatment as my kitty seemed itchy but could not seen any fleas. Got into an argument with the lady as she didn’t seem to listen to what I was saying at all , she cluelessly asked what I used before . I couldn’t recall . Then apparently she found that intriguing. She kept asking strange questions for another 5 minutes asking “ why i thought my cat had fleas, have u seen any fleas” belittling me in front of other customers and store person? I just said u seem to not be listening I’m just asking for a single flea treatment to eliminate my cat having fleas, because he seemed itchy, I haven’t seen any. She continued to speak over the top of me saying with flea infestations wash all bedding . I said he may not have fleas I’m just eliminating this . I said once again u don’t seem to be listening I said I would go see a vet if his symptoms persisted She said “I wouldn’t see a vet at all” I said once again - I will see a vet if it persists. I have no idea where this conversation was going and seemed like she just wanted to argue . I won’t be coming back here , was the strangest experience I’ve ever had . A total lack of care for animal wellbeing. The store lady’s name was marly. If she’s advising people not to go to a vet . That’s concerning

George here is a horrible person. I went there to buy wet food, dry food and some treats for my dogs. The attitude of this guy is unbelievable. When I asked for a price match with pet circle, he told me they don’t have to price match. This is maybe the 20th petbarn and they always price matched with other Australian websites. When I asked the manager and the guy what his name was, the manager said something like Yourek and the guy said George. I said which one is your name. He said you won’t understand my name anyway. I was shocked with his attitude and told him I will complain about him. The answer was even more shocking. He said he is used to being complained and he doesn’t care at all. I couldn’t believe what I went through in this shop. Will never go back to Petbarn Rozelle although I just live 200 m away. Do not get treated like this with your money!!! Go buy somewhere else you are treated nicely.

I came back this morning checking on situation and somehow no one was keen anymore. Wanted to pay for fee and return later to sight adoption papers and take her and bumb into lady who was there doung exactly the same. Now is it just me or do I find how this was managed a little bit wrong? I didn't want to make a scene and left with cat going to different home? Im happy she found home but somehow not happy that I was first to offer and got not even any chance despite I was clearly doing my best to sort it out asap. What's your opinion and what would you do? Btw I'm local in tgat shop almost every day. Won't be going back

The store is a bit pricey compared to some. I went in for aquarium plants and some fish. Had to get someone's attention to get served. They didn't have a large variety of fish for sale. (First store though that I've been in that did not have any there neon fish.... May have sold them all). The guy that served me was polite and happy to be of assistance, (although I think he hadn't been working there long). This only became an issue or evident when I asked him as few questions, that were only costs related as it caught him off guard. I did get overcharged, (or should I say - not getting the discount I was offered when he rang everything up). I didn't say anything, (gotta cut some slack to people if they are new,), as the service was good. So all in all its just another pet store... that doesn't stand out from the pack.

PETBARN was recommended to me by a friend. I have been using a competitor and their customer service was below par and their delivery of items bought on line was extremely slow, they were full of excuses about the delivery when I enquired by email. So I thought I would give PETBARN a go and I have not been disappointed. I had great customer Service from the Rozelle Store. The woman that served me looked at me when she spoke and she did not mumble and she engaged in a conversation. Nothing was too much trouble when locating my newly registered details online... Thank you so much for a pleasant experience.

Good variety of string on rod toys for cats on sale. 2 for $20. A stick onnwindow suction cap toy. Cat plays with by herself from dining table. Some tasty treats my kitten loved. Applause natural cat food. $4. Cat grass grow kit. Yes cats like eating grass. No one knows why. Good for digestion maybe. Not harmful.Salmon and others. Not expensive. Cats going to toilet on a human toilet dangerous. You cannot see if they aren't urinating, have blood in poo. Not wearing could be diabetes or something else.

Called in to ask if there was a specific dog food which was crock and tapioca dog roll, the guy on the phone said yes so I continued to go there. When I got there I went straight to the fridge. All I saw which had the same packaging as the crock roll it happened to be hemp and so.ething else. I believe the young guy saw what was in the fridge 7metres away from where he was sitting and assumed it was what I was asking for and told me they have it in stock. Only to get there and they had ran out.

Make sure you keep your receipt or sign up to loyalty program, otherwise they refuse to help you with a faulty product. Even if they know and remember you purchasing the product. 'Company policy, we'll get in trouble' Its okay I found a better more helpful pet shop in Leichhardt Market place shops. Great service and advice for future purchases.

Very helpful staff who go above and beyond. I was with my 2 year old son. It would've have been difficult to take him and the things I bought to the car and the man offered to help me without me having to ask. I received great advice on kitty litter and a tray for my cats needs. Will definitely be going back to Pet Barn, Rozelle.

We are based in Russell Lea and Petbarn Rozelle is our go to for our 2 dogs - a corgi and an Airedale. They have good specials, price match others and have a great happy team that are knowledgable and don't force feed you on auto pilot but take the time to understand what your pet needs are

Great service. Generally more expensive than online offerings, however if you are a member with them (free), they will price match. I never pay full price for pet food and the advantage is that I don't need to wait for delivery, whilst paying the online prices. Good range.

Really helpful service from the team there. Generally there's a staff member by your side asking if they can help with anything within about 30 seconds of you walking in the door which is pretty cool. Not the best selection of fish, bit great food and other supplies.

Great range of products, staff are always helpful. If something isn't in stock they let you know when its being delivered and will even put the product aside for you to pick up that day. This is my preferred pet barn store to purchase products for my fur babies.

Only place to buy feeder insects in Balmain, the staff are always nice to me although they really know little about keeping insects. If you are hoping to find a large fish collection this isnt really the place for you. Would be lost without them!

Staff are pleasant. I can usually find aquarium products here which are sold out at other inner west stores. Parking can be tricky with busy thursday or saturday shoppers. I find visiting midweek morning the best.

Staff members would not answer phones at 5 minutes to closing time, so after racing to the shop and letting the staff know what had happened they then refused to let me make a simple purchase. Not impressed!
