Great ambience and relaxing venue. Had a lovely picnic lunch consisting of food including, but not limited to, breads, meats, vegetables, fruits, purified fats and sugar, frozen water products, and sweats. Relaxed in the setting sun until the Jim Bleam (sic) and coke worked it's way out of my system then drove the Subaru west until I reached Bathurst. Once I finally found a parking spot I proceeded to set up the Barbie and had hot snags on white bread rolls with fountain tomato (with onions) sauce for dinner.

We went in the afternoon and it’s a lovely grassy area. Some shade in the arvo but I’d say it would be full sun all morning. Gently sloping and a quiet bush setting, the path from here heads down to Fairy Dell and the whole Sassafras Gully walk, which we didn’t attempt. The meander to Fairy Dell is nice to explore although the creek is dry at the moment. Bring a rug for your Gladys-approved picnic as the grass is patchy and there’s only one picnic table here. No toilets or taps.

There's only one picnic shelter, it's a tad hard to access car or walking. Fairy dell is nice if not rain affected to walk into. Wouldn't recommend to a traveller.

Had a spledid evening at this picnic spot, would love to give 5 stars but there was a possum in the public bin? very perplexing experience.

Choice of walking trails, some a little arduous but worthwhile. Take care and stay on the trails as it is every easy to get lost.

Super quiet but difficult to get to. Wouldn't be an easy choice for a stop when going over the mountains.

lovely picnic spot, secluded with good facilities however there was a possum in the bin. please remove.

Such a wonderful tranquil place to stop on a hectic day just to get your mind to rest.

This was the end of our Springwood Bushwalk experience. A nice place for a rest.
