Dined here and my experience seemed rushed, and not the best. I asked if I can order in a few minutes but was ignored and told I had to order immediately. Had the Winter menu. Waiter kept asking his helpers "what is your name again". The steak I had ordered arrived 20 minutes earlier than the rest of the people at my table, it was removed without a word from the waiter. Another waiter appears and says loudly that it was meant for another table. When my plate arrived with the other courses..... not well done as asked but rare. I realised that the waiters got the orders jumbled and when I asked them to for my steak to be rectified, the waiter never apologized but hastily grabbed my plate as if he was offended that I dared to ask him to put my steak back on the grill. It came back 15 minutes later still medium rare, with more basting sauce. It was now bitter and the mash overly salty. My partner had the lamb and kept saying it tasted funny. We never completed our main course at all and asked them to remove our plates. At the end of the evening it seemed so hasty and rushed to get the bills paid, they also jumbled the slips when it came time for us to pay. There were three waiters and all of them looked confused. We had items we didn't order and others at our table were missing items off their bills. At the end they came with a calculator and showed us some other figure, nothing like the bill. Very unprofessional for an establishment like this. Doubtful I would return.

Love the place, we took the scallops for appetizer and the seafood platter for two for the main course since the waiter told us the seafood was the speciality. Everything was good, a little plain in taste in my opinion, I definitely feel like they could use more spice for sure especially for a Portuguese restaurant. But thankfully they had an amazing peri peri sauce and also an other sauce which I think was like a pepper sauce that was also awesome that made everything good. The peri peri is most spicy than more place but so delicious. We also got a vodka martini olive and the Pigalle breeze. Both drink were good, the Pigalle breeze is extremely sweet more than I would have expected and also it took forever to received our drink it’s the first thing we ordered and we got it after the appetizer just before receiving the main course. They also had a live band which was amazing they were so good and passionate and normally I ain’t a fan of a live band in a restaurant because it’s too much for the space but this place was so big with a stage and they were playing such good song and so well everybody was found dancing in front of the stage. Very beautiful. I would definitely go again. The waiter was nice but definitely need to speak louder since we couldn’t eat anything especially with the live band. But overall great place and great service.

Attended a 70th birthday party and we had a lovely evening celebrating. The service was slightly disappointing. Our waiter had certain table members wait for food, dessert and drinks. Including myself. In my case my dessert never arrived and I had to constantly reach out to different waiters passing by, asking about my dessert. The men at my table got their dessert before me and then the ladies and then I waited and waited. Everyone was long done before my malva pudding eventually arrived. It was delicious tho but I would say that having a party function can be very disjointed. Especially when there is alot of invited guests. A small group will do, but it is a bit too hectic and chaotic when it comes to bigger groups as there were many other big groups as well who had parties. There is really no space to socialize and chat with other tables as the space is very limited. We tried to catch up with family members, which we never saw for a while, but it was hard. Overall the restaurant is a lovely venue for a romantic dinner and small group get togethers. The band was very entertaining and did a good job.

We were there celebrating a dear friend and her mothers birthday and it was absolutely beautiful. From the moment we arrived, till we were showed to our table and even when our waitor came to greet us it was beautiful. I appreciated feeling valued and not like just another person entering the restaurant. The place was absolutely beautiful, the vibe was stunning and oh the band . We danced the night away hehe. Wow...if I could give this venue 10 stars I would...this restaurant is more than an eatery...it's everything you need in one place & quite unique in South Africa if not Africa on the whole...the parking is great...this is dining out on a grand scale...the venue is large & bold...the booths are comfortable & Cosy...the reception is friendly & service is excellent...the food is excellent...the best part for me is the live entertainment...the band is excellent & we all danced to familiar tunes...what an experience...we choose the set menu for R450 which was a choice of starters, mains & desert...

Just couldn't figure why the fuss over this restaurant. I've always seen pics & heard about it but . Deco needs an upgrade. Manager who "welcomed" us wasn't welcoming. Waiter went over & beyond but was limited by rules .. you can't deviate from your order placed up front so I had to substitute my cheesecake with an amarula but wasn't given a choice, I was given kalula. The music sounded like a new year's eve party incl "Gimme hope Joanna". Sorry but I expected more.

The ambiente is actually quite nice. The live band is, if used right, also a great idea. Unfortunately, the band is so loud (no matter where you sit) that you cannot have a normal conversation with the people at your own table. The service is (compaired to other restaurant at this level) not good. Nobody asks you if you want to order more drinks or how the food is etc. They simply do not care. The food is way below expectations, too. Overcooked meat, dry, overcooked fish. Vegetables so soft (also overcooked), it is more a "porridge". etc. All in all, really a big disappointment. We will not go there again.

I went there because there was a special event. I took my temperature at the entrance, and all the facilities were clean and beautiful. There were live instruments such as piano drums and a small stage. The meal was delicious and all the staff were kind. The manager listened to the customer's request and solved it quickly. I was touched by the kind service. The bathroom was clean, too. A staff member stayed and provided hand sanitizer and hand cream. It sounds great for a party or event like a special birthday. The parking lot was also convenient and there were many captainial spaces as it was across from the entrance of the restaurant. Very satisfying.

Stunning resturant with great food. So much bigger than you expect. The live music and dance floor are great. The sound overall is a little too loud and makes conversation at dinner difficult. Great seafood prepared well. Prices are on the higher side but it is ideal for a fancy meal or to celebrate an occasion.

Fantastic fine-dining restaurant. Waiters are friendly, professional and engaging. The jazz band was playing and was interactive with customers. Food was delicious and well presented. They made extra effort to make my birthday special. After dinner, we had a few turns on the dance floor too. Loved every moment of the evening.

A few months ago, I missed my chance to visit Pigalle, but now when I visited Cape Town, my best friend made reservations for us, and well, I wasn't disappointed. The atmosphere, service, food, and ambiance are excellent. We opted for the 3 course meal menu instead of a la Carte menu. It was a great choice. The live music is an added benefit, perfect for dress up and date nights.

This a good dining place for a date, friends or celebrations such as birthdays or anniversaries!! I celebrate one of my friends birthday here. There is a band that plays music, they even played and sang a happy birthday for my friend. The atmosphere is very good for such listed above events. The customer service is dope, I enjoyed interacting with them. The lights are not bright , which makes the place a bit dull... Its hard to find the place, especially if you are coming from Somerset Road.. Just remember to make a turn onto highfield Road heading to Somerset Square and park in there....

The best dine and dance place every. It's classy and simply the best. The food is so yummy... Love it, love it, love it. The band and DJ - just wow!!

The only reason I didn't give it more stars is because my one dish had a hair on it. I don't feel the waiter dealt with it in a very polagetic manner. The food was lovely, but that put me a bit off. We were looking for a restaurant near to our hotel and found Pigalle. It was a bit difficult to actually access the restaurant as the entrance seems to be on a back street. I believe the owners were doing front of house - they were very friendly and welcoming, as were all of our waiters. The food was delicious with generous portions. They have live music and dance area. They only downside was it was very hot day and the a/c wasn’t working! Everyone was boiling.

The service is a little slow but the atmosphere is welcoming. Live band performing is pretty good and the food is excellent. The environment can be both intimate and inviting. Truly enjoyed myself!

This is a fantastic restaurant for anyone looking for a great formal dining experience. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Manager is hands on and goes out of his way to ensure great service. The food is excellent. The mushroom ravioli, seafood platter and sole were fantastic. The live band and intimate lighting create a wonderful ambiance particular for couples looking for a romantic night out. I highly recommend that you eat here at least once.

Overall a good ‘fancy’ meal. Oysters and steak were good. But we were then on a night with a big group that filled most of the dining room. They were all served at once by all hands which left us without service for about 20 minutes. The band was good but the big group gave the experience a bit of a cruise or wedding feel. Still, we had fun!

We were looking for a restaurant with live music and Pigalle was highly recommended. We were not disappointed. A beautiful establishment, professional and friendly staff and delicious food. We enjoyed a seafood platter and ordered dessert to take away. Everything tasted amazing. It being a weeknight, the restaurant was not full but I believe one gets a different experience over the weekend. Highly recommended spot.

Came out for date night with hubby and as usual the meals never cease to please. Definitely 5 star food but the service by John was absolutely terrible when he disappeared on us for more than 35 minutes leaving us with dirty plates and an untidy table. My husband eventually had to find the manager and place our dessert order. Unfortunately this time delay caused our later plans to fall through

Great ambiance, the live band was exceptional. The venue is well decorated. It's a pleasant place. The atmosphere is very nice. The food was amazing, nothing was overdone or under cooked. I did not understand the plate which served the butternut soup though. The band set the perfect mood for a chilled weekday dinner. Perfect for dinning with family and friends, or if you just feel like a romantic evening out with your partner.

Amazing food, one of the best sea food restaurants I've ever been too. Our server, Elvis, was lovley and helped us choosing from the menu when it was hard to decide. The music was perfect! It was soothing jazz with the perfect volume so you could always talk without being disturbed by the sound.
