It's kind of small but I went on a Wednesday around 3 and it was completely dead so me and my daughter had the park to ourselves! It doesn't seem like a bad area Park wise. There was trash scattered around especially in the woods near by where you would head to the trail. And the park was a little more muddy with a lot less grass than expected at a park LOL but hey, it's Southeast d.c., nobody was shooting so I was much appreciative.

Pope Branch Park is a true neighborhood park in Ward 7’s Penn Branch. Parking is street parking and there are always spots. Enter the small park via a wooden bridge and you’re there! Benches, picnic tables, a swing set and a playground structure make up the park. A long fence protects the park from the woods.
