After reading so many reviews of all the different car parks in the area worried that our car would get damaged by smash and grabs, we came across this car park and just went for it. We arrived on Saturday morning to head to Alcatraz Island. Google said the car park was closed and opens at 7am Monday but we had seen that on the pictures that sometimes it is open on Saturday’s so we took the chance, and thank fully… the car park was open with a $20 day rate with opening times 8am-7pm. You arrive to the parking garage by getting a ticket from the machine, and when you are ready to leave you pay the $20 at the machine by cash or card and you have 15 minutes to then leave the car park. Surprisingly the car park was fairly quiet - possibly because not many people tried it as it said it was closed. Luckily our car was unharmed, so very grateful for that. Other car parks that looked busier was Pier 39 car park - today by looking at the sign it was $12 per hour! For a maximum of a 5 hour stay. We used this car park for 6.5 hours and had no problems.
Excellent experience here. The attendant was kind, and it was an easy process to get in/out if you read ahead and follow the instructions given to you ahead of time about how the facility works. I used the ParkWhiz app, which made the process easy to say the least. Place seems secure, clean and well kept. We parked from 8am to 6pm. Those posting about cars being locked in and charged to unlock the garage need to read the posted signs everywhere......and those that complain of no attendant need to also read the signs, you exchange your ticket when you walk back in, and pay or show your park whiz pass, then get in your car and leave. We drove right out and couldn't be happier with the service here. First timers to a parking garage, San Francisco, and California and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. THANK YOU!!!
Best parking option if you are going to Alcatraz island ! We were looking for a safe parking option to leave our rental car as we heard there have been numerous break-ins in the last couple of months, and on street parking was not an option for us. Several "secure car parks" had extortionate rates anywhere from $12USD per hour to $60USD per day. I came across this car park and noticed Google maps has marked it as "closed" on the weekends, I was about to look away until I saw a recent review with a photo of the opening times and prices and thought about giving it a try on a weekend....it was OPENED and it was quite a BARGAIN! ($20USD for the whole day) The car park was mostly empty, it was clean, felt safe and its in a great location.
My experience with Ace Parking Management has been wonderful. I have been to this garage two times, once with my family and once with my wife a week ago, and there were no issues. Both times I paid $25 (daily maximum) to stay all day and explore San Francisco. All our items in the vehicle where still there when we got back (no theft) and our vehicle was not damaged with the free valet parking (the 2nd time we visited there was free valet parking). If you are looking for an inexpensive place to park your vehicle and spend the day at the fisherman's wharf or anywhere in San Francisco..this is a great place. A short walking distance (10-15 minutes) from Pier 39. The staff is very helpful as well.
Reasonable indoor parking garage with convenient location to Pier 33 and the city. $27 is a decent price for all day parking. This is an unmanned parking garage, but much much safer than the outdoor lots nearby. This location provided me with the peace-of-mind needed to be able to be a tourist for the day in San Fran. There is no security at either type of garage, but the bad kids are attracted to the outdoor lots and the police do not show up. They care, they just can't do anything that will keep the kids in jail. Typical security found in a democratic state. Saw 1 break-in and heard of many others at the outdoor lots.
Parking was pretty safe. Had a wheelchair and there were no ramps down so we had to use the ramps you use to drive up, to get down which was pretty worrisome because you couldn't really tell if a car was about to come up. There are no elevators. The parking lot doesn't really offer a whole lot of parking, if you're coming during a busy time of the year you probably won't find anything because this place is only $25 for a whole day. Tight squeeze. You'll have to unload your items and passengers before you park and be wary of those parking next to you because it's likely they'll hit you if they're a newer driver.
Very close to Alcatraz tour and Piers. Highly secure, which was very comforting since theft is such a big problem when parking. We were here on a weekday. I did not notice the hours/days of operation except that where was an early bird special if you arrive before 9 AM on M-F. Otherwise, it was $5/hr. No attendant so pay with credit card. Public parking is 3rd and 4th level. There are two garages across from each other. The ramps that take you to the different leves are quite narrow - probably could not get a long wheel base truck through.
Says it’s for the cruises? The night cruises end at 9:30 pm. You get back at the harbor at 9:50 pm or later. Garage closes at 10 pm with your car in it. I don’t get how this is parking applicable to the cruises? We had to run back just so our car doesn’t get locked for the night. The only good thing was the price. Some of the cheapest we saw in SF but if you’re looking for something for Alcatraz night tour don’t do it. Too stressful to cut it that close and risk getting your car locked up.
Parked my car here about 9 am. Returned at 2:30 pm with my car safe. I did remove everything from sight, per all the reviews I've read online. And there was a construction crew outside doing some road work. This parking lot was pretty nice, clean, it has plenty of spaces. Id park here again. It was super close to the pier that the Alcatraz ferry goes out on. And close enough to pier 39 as well.
Rates are good, better than the lots right on Embarcadero. Used it twice in the same weekend. The ramps between the levels are very steep. Make sure you get out by 10 pm. The garage locks up at 10 pm and you will not even be able to get to your car. Got back from a baseball game late and couldn't get to the car. My fault though because it is signed that way.
Would have parked there, but they closed at 11PM on Sat night, when I was there for the concert at America's Cup Pavilion (Steely Dan, 8-17-2013). We parked across the street in the other garage, whose name escapes me. The concert organizers email claimed that Ace was open 24x7 but somehow on the biggest party night, they weren't? Wow.
I remember parking here so we could go to the Alcatraz tour. This place was actually quite nice, really well kept. As soon as we said Alcatraz, the staff knew what we were talking about and guided us to the correct parking spaces. The spaces were a little bit bigger than other garages around the area and the prices were decent as well.
Great parking spot for the day in Alcatraz and walking distance to some cute areas around: good food, parks, shops etc local stuff. NOTE: CLOSES BY 7PM during week so get your car before that or you will pick it by the next business day!! 27$ max (parked for 8h so paid the max) otherwise 5$/30mins and 3rd-4th floor for public parking.
Parking on a Saturday morning and the rate was $20 for the whole day. Plenty of parking spaces available both when we parked and later in the afternoon when we came back. Other nearby lots are charging an average of $12 an hour with a $60 to $65 per day maximum. This one is only a block or so further away.
We parked here for a day. We parked at the top under an office window. Could see a few people working and looking down onto the garage. Felt very secure and safe. The ramps going up n down are narrow but not overly tight. Parked a Jeep Grand Cherokee with no issue. Not a bad view either.
Rates are a bit high, but not bad for SF. Problem is, at least for me, is the tight turning radiuses to get up and down the ramps. If you have a full size car would be wanting to take a nice and slow through here are you going to scuff up your rims or scrape a fender.
This lot is one of the cheaper lots near the Wharf. The weekend price is $20/day which is very reasonable. It is a pretty tight parking lot. The ramps are very narrow and steep, however I felt safe leaving my car here. FYI, the parking lot closes at 10pm.
I wanted to use that Parking so badly because they say it is safe to leave the car here. But no - they shut it at 7:00PM and the sign says you get your car next workday if you are late. What kind of a sick idea is that?
Affordable parking in the Embarcadero area. This was the only place we could find parking on a busy Sunday afternoon. It is easily a 15-20 minute walk from Pier 39, but it is affordably priced, so definitely worth it.
Spaces are tiny, drive areas are very narrow, the ramp is extremely steep and hard to see over as you drive up it, it's expensive ($5 every 30 minutes up to $27/day), and they lock you in if you're not out by 7:00pm.
The pricing and walking distance wasnt bad but we got robbed despite being a closed parking lot, everything we had was thrown upside down. We're gonna try to contact the parking lot if something can be done by this.
As of end of April 2019, it's still $20 all day for weekends, exit by 10pm. Can fit a mini van or MPV. Cheapest if you have a tour to Alcatraz and strolling along Pier 39 for more than two hours.
Great parking lot, 25$ for up to 12 hours of parking is a good price. The location is good, a short walk from pier 33. Service is also good, easy to get in and pay at the machine at the end.
Great and helpful staff. Though officially closing at 19:00, ticket can be used to enter and payed after hours using machinery. Picking up after Alcatraz night tour worked like a charm.
Conveniently located near the embarcadero attractions and reasonable rates. Although I'm confused if it's 24 hour or closes at 11? I didn't get a chance to ask an attendant to clarify.
We had no issues. Price and location was great. Fit a VW Atlas with no problem. It felt safe and secure. Kept all our possessions and luggage out of sight, so no problems.
Reminds me of a parking garage on Grand Theft Auto San Andreas ... Nice quiet garage. Great spot to park if you going to the Alcatraz tour. 2 block walk to the pier …
Was an ok spot. Just remember to leave right away, I had to wait a few mins after I paid for the day and ended up paying again since we were still there. Bit of a scam
They charged 60 dollar instead of 27 during this fleet week weekend. When we head off, the line is long and not even moving for half an hour. Really bad experience.
Reasonably priced parking right near the Alcatraz ferry. It's a little tight and the ramps between levels are very steep, but not too difficult to drive around in.
Can’t say much except it doesn’t work on weekends. I checked it on location. The garage was closed on Jan 23 and an info stand states the same - weekends are off.
It was a good price for parking. But the rates aren't clearly posted. And the parking spaces are a but tight. But it's convenient, easy to find, and nice staff.
Safest one yet. $19 Early Bird b4 9am, with attendee, worth it. Park here to hit Alcatraz in the AM, hangout @Fisherman's Wharf 39 in the PM and it'll pay off
March 29 2019. $25 for all day and a piece of mind of out of the way of a lot of people, and theft. A little tight fit for bigger vehicles though.
$27 for the day not bad. Overhead clearance 7’ just barely snuck a new ram rebel in here. Would not try with a 3/4 ton. Would recommend
It's too expensive and it closed too early for the amount we had to pay for the day. We parked there to go to thw Alcatraz Tour.
Short walk from the Alcatraz pier. Decent rates and they stay open late, but I wouldnt want to walk back to it alone after dark.
Its so close to the piers.. Walking distance from pier 33 and 39, and they have a flate rate. Very convenient.
Left our rental car for a day trip to Alcatraz Island which is a quick walk to pier 33. Safe and convenient.
This is absolutely the best way to park when going on a Princess Cruise super easy access and very secure.
Parking is ok. Quite close to pier 39 and pier 33 (Alcatraz tour). Price is 25$ for 12 hours. No elevator.
We parked our car there for 10 days. Everything was great when we came back. They kept it safe and sound.
I had no issues parking, the rates are right out front and there were parking attendants at the entrance.
Nice and clean parking lot. Walking distance to Pier 33 Alcatraz landing. Price was reasonable.
Place is walking distance to the pier 39. Tight place but big enough to be manageable.
$20 day rate, hours 8am-10pm. Great spot within walking distance to all piers!
Close enough to all the tourist destinations but only $27 for the whole day.
It’s illegal to not have access to an elevator for disabled!!! Do better!!!
DO NOT PARK HERE, they are bunch of Scammers.
